Funny story guys!! Cooper was so tired tonight that he was riding around on his train (its a train that goes round and round a track) Anyway it was just before 7 - and i saw him going around and i thought he looked tired and the next time he came passed he was asleep still pressing the button to make him go round the track!!! He was starting to slump further and further god love him! I didnt take a photo because i was scared he was going to fall off but it was hillarious! Poor little mite was tired!
Anna enjoy your night.

Awww! Hayles! That is so cute!! I can just picture him! Claire only had about 40 mins sleep this afternoon, so we had an early dinner & shoofted her off to bed. It was so much easier than it has been!! Maybe I should only let her sleep for 40 mins every day!! Did I mention how much Claire has regressed sleep-wise since Owen arrived? It has been really difficult for us to take, because we were making such huge leaps only a few weeks back, and now it seems we're back to the same mess we were in 6 months ago where we were just trying for hours on end to get her to sleep, and each time we put her down, she wakes up screaming! At least the couple of times she's woken in the night she's been able to self settle, so maybe it won't take too long for her to get back on track. :fingerscrossed:
Lou, thank you! :)
Good on you (and your work!) for getting the flu shot.
Anna - have a great night tonight!!
I had so much more I was going to say, but I've got a killer headache & I've forgotten it all! Please forgive me!! I'm going to bed!

Fi sorry to hear Claire has regressed sleep wise!! :fingerscrossed: She gets back on track soon!
We had a bit of an intersting night last night after Cooper fell asleep on the train. Now i dont know if i mentioned but its unlike Cooper to fall asleep like that, and especially being so early!! He still has a cold so i figured that was knocking him round a bit. He barely ate yesterday either and didnt even have his bottle before bed - Anyway about 10.30 he woke up crying, it wasnt a full on cry or anything but i let it go for awhile (we were still up anyway) and i figured he was probably hungry or needed his bottle so i went in there with his bottle. i was just going to give it to him in his bed so he didnt think it was play time but he was SOOOOOO HOT!!! So i got him out of bed and stripped him off..Checked his temp which was just below 39, so i gave him some panadol and turned the aircon on let him lay on the lounge for awhile so i could keep an eye on him. The first half an hour he seemed really tired and not very well but his temp then come down and he jumped off the lounge and ran for his toys!! So I put him back into bed and he is still sleeping. Hopefully he is OK today
My mum is coming up to mind Cooper while we go painting, Trent went out there earlier and im meeting him out there. We tried to get some people out there to help us but no one was "available" which is a little disheartning considering Trent drops everything and helps these people out ALL the time! ah well not to worry we will just have to work extra hard to get it done.
OH NO! my boy just woke up and he doesnt sound like a happy camper! :crying:

Oh dear Hayley! I hope Cooper is better this morning. They sure can throw you some curve balls, can't they?!
And how's that for the people who wouldn't help you guys out?! Incredible! Ah well, at least once it's all done, you'll be able to stand back and say WE did all of this!! And be PROUD!
Claire went to bed really early last night because she'd not had much sleep yesterday and it was great - she still woke up at her normal time. And then about 9.30 she started acting really tired!! I was laying on the couch half asleep (such a great mum!!) and at about 10.30 she came up and held out her arms to me and started to grizzle, so I picked her up and told her to put her head against my shoulder, which she did, and by 10.45 she was sound asleep! I went & lay her down in her cot and her eyes flicked open and I thought "Uh-oh! Here we go!", but she just rolled over, shut her eyes and went back to sleep!
Other news for the day - our greyhound is finally on season! Dave's been waiting for about two years. They're meant to come on season within 6 months after they finish racing, 12 months at the most, but it just wasn't happening. Dave took her to the vet a few weeks back and asked them to do a thyroid test and it showed she had an underactive thyroid, so they put her on medication and BANG! Now she's on season! So now we have a limited time to get her served and shortly we'll have a litter of pups!
We have a rental inspection on Tuesday & my house (as per usual!) is a bomb site, so I'd better get going. Hope you're all having a fantastic weekend!

Well I took Cooper to the hospital this morning because he had a temp of 39, the doctor gave him the once over with his ears, chest etc but couldnt find anything wrong. He tried to look in his throat but Cooper wouldnt let him:rolleyes: . Anyway by that stage Coopers temp was back to normal and he was playing away and laughing so i figured he was OK. So since mum had came all the way up here to look after him I went out to help Trent with the painting - I stayed a couple of hours (enough to get blisters on my hands lol :banghead: ) Got back at 4 and found a very sick little boy laying in my mums arms once again! His temp was back to 39.2 so I gave him some more nurofen and got my MIL up here to have a look at him (she is a nurse). We got his temp back down to normal but he still seems out of sorts he is sleeping now but if he wakes again with a high temp ill be back to the hospital. I have no idea whats wrong with him and it breaks my heart seeing him so sick and so sad. Im thinking maybe it has something do with his throat (tonsilitis maybe?) Because that was the only thing that wasnt checked. But the doctor seemed to rule that out because everything else was quite alright. OH man im really worried I just wish i knew what was wrong with him.
Fi, glad to hear Claire slept well for you. Goodluck with the inspection - what a time to have one when you have just had a new baby!!

Fi I also wanted to say :smiliedance: for your greyhound being on heat. Maybe she saw you with Owen and though it was time to want to start a family of her own
Well last night wasnt as bad as I thought. Cooper went for a sleep at 6 (there was no way he could keep his eyes open, poor little fella). He got up at 7 and his temp was back to 37, he managed to have a bottle and a little bit of dinner, he was still sick and for most of the time he was awake he just layed on the lounge but the main thing was his temp had dropped. He went back to bed about 8.30. He cried a few times during the night but I only had to get up to him once (about 3), I just gave him his bottle in his bed and I didnt hear a sound from him....got up at 3.30 to check on him and his bottle was gone and he was snuggled up under the blankets. (Its FREEZING here today, and was last night also). I just went and checked on him then and he was curled up on his belly in a corner snoring away so i popped a blanket on him. He must be tired god love him. I felt him and he isnt running a temp so thats a good sign. Hopefully he is feeling better today. So so far I guess Daylight savings ending hasnt knocked Cooper too out of whack as its now 7.16 and he is still in bed.
Its been quiet in here hope everyone is OK :) Cath hows Dean going?
Oh I got Cooper weighed at the hospital he is 12.4kg!!

:smiliedance: YAY Cooper just got up and is his happy little self again!! he must be feeling better! :fingerscrossed: he stays this way! :smiliedance:
Well Cooper and Maddi must have been meeting down the backyard kissing because Maddi has a really bad cold too. Well thats what I think it is but I'm not too sure. Her conjunctivitis has mostly cleared up, still there but no way as bad as before. Friday night she had a high temp at 4am. I couldn't measure how hot she was because I didn't have the thermometer with us  . But she was talking in her sleep, delerious and sweaty. Really freaked me out as DH is staying at our house so it was just me dealing with maddi. I managed to get some neurofen into her while she was asleep (yes she swallowed it in her sleep!) and half an hour later she felt a bit cooler. She woke up in the morning with her nose choked full of dried green snot and her eyes caked in muk. My god it was DISGUSTING :barf: . So we had a bath together as it was the only way I could clean her eyes and her nose. Last night it was a repeat of the night before so I am really tired. That and getting Maddi to let me near her eyes now is a major event. She absolutely hates the eyedrops and runs screaming from me. I cannot wait until this bug passes. Because her nose is so green I'm wondering if she needs to get some oral antibiotics as its obviously a pretty nasty bacterial infection. And let me say that so far this morning she is being so so painful. Everything is a major drama for her. If she cant stand up under the table because her head hits the top its a lie down and cry episode. If i want to wipe her nose its a run away and scream event. If I want to change her nappy its a roll around and try to keep your hips off the floor thing. :banghead: bring back normality PLEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASE.
Hey I just had a really really big whinge.
Fi how exciting about the greyhound. I can't believe the vet didn't pick up the thyroid problem earlier. But anyways its all good news. Hope you can find her a nice studly male to give her an eventful service. Can you imagine how excited Claire will be around puppies. She'll be hiding them in her bedroom to keep them. Sorry to hear that Claire has been having sleep issues. I guess having another baby in the house is a major life change for her. Hopefully she will settle back into her great routine soon. How is the BF coming along? In comparison to bottle feeding do you find that Claire slept longer? I was wondering about that theory that bottle babies sleep longer.
Anna, how was the market? Did you buy anything? Oh I bet you enjoyed just walking around enjoying the freedom of it. Did your night finish up as good as it started? And what did you wear? I bet you looked spunky.
Well gotta go, cranky Maddi is just sitting in the middle of the lounge crying because the world is going to come to an end. Ahhh!

Lou, :hugs: poor you!!! Maddi & Claire just sound so much alike, it's scary!! Claire is an absolute master of being difficult too. I had to have a chuckle when you said that bit about her flying into a tantrum because she's now too tall to stand up under the table - I thought Claire was the only one who did that!! Phew! My child is normal after all!! Poor Maddi sounds so sick with all that gunk! Hope she gets better very soon.
And poor Cooper (and you too Hayley!) It's weird his temp keeps coming & going like that. Maybe the nurofen worked its magic while you were at the hospital and once it wore off, his temp came back? That's good that he slept reasonably well for you though. He obvisouly needs it.
We're just waiting now for the right time to get Kimmy served. They actually don't do it the old fashioned way anymore. You get frozen semen then you have to have it inserted by a vet. It can either be done surgically or by just squirting it up there. I think Claire will be entranced by the pups!! I'm not looking forward to the time when we have to say goodbye to them though. It might be difficult for her. How did Seth go with it, Ange?
Owen has been very unsettled since about 4am. He's hardly slept at all since then. He's dozed fitfully (grunting a lot & wriggling around), but not really slept properly. Actually, I need to go - he's just woken up again!

Lou sorry to hear about Maddi...i just had a scare in the car. Trent forgot something out at our house so rang up and asked us to drop it out. Well Cooper seemed fine this morning - still a bit snotty but no temp or anything like that. He was also fine on the way out to our house (25minutes away). He was fine out there and then on the way back he looked quiet and he seemed really tired. Anyway i thought i would let him sleep and then i looked back and he was staring into space and looked so BLANK!!! He wasnt blinking or anything and i kept yelling at him trying to get a reaction and Nothing!!! i was freaking out and couldnt find anywhere to stop the car (stupid country roads!!!) I finally managed to pull over (still yelling out at Cooper trying to get a reaction...and the WAAAAAAAAAAAA! oh it was such a relief. Anyway i got out and went over to him and he was SOOO hot. So i stripped him off, and i drove so fast all the way home! his temp is 38, so ill see how he goes with the nurofen, ill be taking him to the doctor tommorrow to see if i can get some answers. IT could well be just the flu but id like to know one way or anyother. My heart is still beating so fast. I thought he wasnt breathing. I just couldnt get a reaction from him..freaked me out.
oh sorry guys i didnt mean to turn this post into all about ME ME ME! Lou i really hope Maddi gets better soon!!
talk soon guys gotta go my boy needs me.

:smiliedance: HAPPY BIRTHDAY!:smiliedance:
Hope you have a WONDERFUL day with with your boys and you get spoilt rotten just like you deserve!
Well - I am here. Thanks for the birthday wishes. Let's just say I didn't know how to bring it up subtley so I thought it was better left unsaid!
I can't stay here for long as we still have visitors - I am going to apply for a B&B licence I think at this rate.
Just wanted to say that I hope Maddi and Cooper are both feeling better! Poor little tykes - its horrible when they are sick.
Oh and I hope the sleep fairy hangs around for a while at Fi's place. I guess Claire probably wonders why she needs to be asleep all night when Owen gets up and has feeds!
Oh Tan! We're all friends here and we love wishing everyone a happy birthday! I say we all start a list with all of our birth dates so we know!
Well Tan's on the list as 25th March :D
Anna 11/01/1979.
I'll post soon guys - had a great couple of days, absolutely 110% buggered and bubba blue is giving me grief. Gotta feed these kids right now. Will try to pop in later tonight.
xoxo
P.S. Lou - yes I DID enjoy salamanca! Haven't been in ages - esp without kids and we spent a small fortune in a very short amount of time! What's your favourite thing at the markets??
I'm back!
WELL! What a busy couple of days I've had! I'll try not to bore you too much with all the details.
Friday night was great, although long. The dinner started at 7pm and went til midnight (or after for us due to transport responsibilties). Dinner started with entrees and canapes served on platters at the table, then mains was an alternate "drop" meal with 2 selections - chicken on a LUSH creamy risotto with lemon something-or-other! and a fillet of beef with spinach & mushrooms & potatos. You could swap with the person next to you but you didn't get a choice. We got one of each so we tried both! Dessert was either a baked choc cheesecake (blah) or a HUGE wedge of Kind Island Brie with peppered strawberries and some crisp bread to serve. OH to eat soft cheeses again! I calculated that by the end of the night (5 hours) I had about 4 glasses of white ( ) without feeling a thing - Shane well exceeded 10 glasses but still woke without a hangover (woohoo! :smiliedance: ) Obviously wine, beer etc was free flowing, and by 9:30 they'd gone through 11 kegs of just beer! LOL!
There were a few good acts throughout the night, medal presentations (HOBART WON!!!) and to finish a dance band which absolutely MURDERED the songs but no-one cared by that stage! You'd have been excused for mistaking the 700+ group were partying at an over-aged rave than an Australian Taxation Office closing dinner! I had my feet up for the last few hours and got to watch a loooooot of interesting "stuff" going on! 50yo's dirty dancing, lots of @rse grabbing and so many people just dancing away having the time of their lives, absolutely sloshed! LOL! I met heaps of people, we were on the next table from the commissioner (and his young, mail-order bride), heaps of the volunteer staff who felt so very sorry for me for the week or so I'd been through, and also the carnival director who was just so impressed (and p!ssed) that he gave Shane Monday off - "ON THE HOUSE!" WOOHOO!!!! (Let's just hope he remembers that tomorrow when Shane's no-where to be seen in the office!)
The apartment we stayed in was really nice and spacious and we made good use of it, even though it was only overnight LOL ;) . Next morning we cruised through Salamanca Markets with no children and had a late brekkie which was nice. We bought heaps of chocolate, fudge and jams - just not the same as in the shops, hmm... might have to go back next week for some relish that I forgot to pick up!
Anyway, we picked up the kids and the rest of the day was interrupted with a few transport mishaps so I took the kids home and Shane met me there later. Today there were lots of phone calls, one transport run that Shane had to do, but we all got a few hours together. Shane has now PROUDLY turned off his work mobile and is tucking into a nice bottle of wine (and is about to open the 2nd!) and we're hitting the hay early (well, after Greys anyway!)
The kids survived the daylight savings ordeal, Immy made it to 7pm (her normal bed time) but with a few struggles - although she's only had 1 nap today. Tomorrow Chelsea has her school excursion and we're going to head out for a casual day with Shane with NO interruptions! YAY!
* * * * *
congrats if you've made it thus far!
Hayles I'm sorry to hear that Cooper isn't well. You did the right thing taking him to hospital, fever may not seem like a big deal in adults but it is in kids - don't mean to scare you, but it can cause that blank-out that Cooper had, as well as febrile convulsions. Check THIS (http://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/factsheets.cfm?doc_id=5200) info out and alternate panadol with nurofen every 2-3 hours if his fever doesn't break easily. Let us know how the Dr's go tomorrow.
Tan - what are you doing stressing about guests on your bithday?? If you have guests then they should be happy to pour their own coffee's and get their own biscuits! All my good friends know where the fridge is and help themselves to anything quite happily! Really hope you've had a great day though!
Lou - Poor old Maddi! If it's not one thing. . . are you back home yet? The best way to clean up dried snot and gunk is with a damp, warm face washer. Much kinder to crusty eyes and nose. She still won't like it though! Either that or just throw her in a bath and splash her with water! LOL! Hey, whenever you come to Hobart, we'll have to take Saturday morning and go to the markets together - I could use a female friend to shop with, Shane's tragic and won't stop and many of the cute jewellery or craft places!
Fi - I have absolutely no idea about greyhounds whatsoever, but what a shame that Kimmy doesn't even get to get her rocks off before being knocked up! LOLOL! Good luck for her though! How's the 2-child balancing act going? Even with Claire and her upset sleep patterns, things seem to be going well by the sounds of it. A few weeks and Owen will start to settle into a pattern as well and you'll hopefully get some quality rest. In the meantime, lap up those couch naps - you deserve it!
Haven't heard from anyone else for a while, Cath? Nat? Ange? Renee? You all still around?
Better get these kids into bed, then get ready to collapse myself! Talk to you all soon I hope!
xoxo
P.S. How's THIS for a small world?
* I sat next to a girl who I went to high school with - she was a year younger than me and was best friends with a girl I lived near
* Two of Shane's volunteer drivers were called Nichola and Imogen!
* I was speaking to this Imogen during the night discussing nicknames and I said I didn't like Mog as a nickname for Imogen but mentioned I'd loved the name since high school where I met a girl called Imogen (who was nicknamed Mog). She asked her last name, and when I told her, she said - "OMG! My parents knew her parents well - you went to Ogilvie High School! My mother must have taught you!"
And guess what? SHE DID!!!
Oh I forgot to tell you what this baby has been doing to me today! He's been causing so much grief! I'll exclude the beginning because it's embarrassing (if you just too curious you can msn me! ) But bubba blue decided to "shift" today and I actually felt him drop. He's been laying so incredibly low that I've been running to the bathroom every couple of minutes and when I walk I have a massive duck-bum thing happening just to try and keep the pressure off my bladder. The thing that worried me the most is that I had a lot of pressure waaay "down there" and every time I went to the bathroom, I had somewhat of pushing urge and heaps of pressure. He seems to be sitting a little better now, but if it continues tomorrow I'm going to have to have a check up because he shouldn't feel so low. He's still kicking a bit which is fine, but sheer torture and I just can't find a comfy position which gets him off my bladder etc. If anyone has any suggestions, shoot them this way! Ok, now I REALLY have to go! Thanks for reading if you got all that!
xoxo :hugs:

Anna - Thanks for the info on fevers. My MIL was really good being a nurse and all she gave me a few pointers at reducing his fever etc. As for the black out - it did freak me out alot! Coopers temp was high but it wasnt as high as it had been. But maybe something happened, maybe he was just tired! Who knows. He has been good as gold all afternoon - his happy little self..eating, drinking, playing, laughing. But im still going to head to the doc tommorrow cause id rather be safe then sorry. If they cant find anything wrong with him (despite the obvious cold) then atleast I will be at peace of mind.
I didnt read all your post just yet. Im tired (didnt sleep much last night worrying about the little man) but ill read it tommorrow.
Night all.
Well - here I am after an absolutely huge weekend. I won't bore you with all the details but it started with dinner on Friday night with my closest friend and her hubby at a seafood restaurant (and another friend minded Will), then on Saturday morning I picked my cousin and her hubby and bub up from the airport, dropped them off at my Aunt's, went to vote, ran home and picked the boys up before we headed off to a party for my uncle who turned 80 last week. So we spent the whole afternoon there and Will had a ball with some other little people and was so filthy when we left at 5pm that it was straight into the shower with him when we got home! DH's parents arrived when we got home as they were staying the night (going to an engagement party nearby) - so more excitement for Will! After Will's wash and a quick dinner my cus rang and invited us back over for fish and chips so back we all went by 6:30! Will went to bed in the portacot at about 7:30 (he was so tired I thought he was going to fall asleep standing up) and we came home around 10:30 I think.
So yesterday was the end of daylight saving and Will managed to sleep til 7am the new time so we were all pretty happy with that. (little bugger was awake at 6:15 this morning though - whole other story). So lots of excitement for Will (giving me pressies!) and playing with Oma and Opa (Troy's parents) and then we rushed off to church. From there it was a quick trip to the shop for cakes and stuff as Troy's grandmother and his Aunty decided they wanted to come over too for morning tea.
The rest of the day was spent hanging around the house (I was hoping in vain that DH's parents would leave early afternoon) but DH went out and got some Thai for dinner which was good and Will went off to bed at 7.
Anyway last night I went to open this yummy bottle of dessert wine and the cork fell apart as we were opening it. Man I hate that! I still managed to salvage the wine without too many cork crumbs and had a nice little nightcap before I went to bed.
So all in all it wasn't a bad birthday, but nothing to get too excited about I guess.
I hope Cooper and Maddi are feeling a lot better today. Will still seems to be teething and has gone to bed way too often lately with a dose of nurofen but I guess it won't hurt him and it means we are all getting a decent night's sleep.
Oh - I discovered yesterday that Will has been biting his dummy! Two of his dummies he has actually bitten through. Do you think this has something to do with his teething? DH thinks maybe we need to take the dummies away but I want to wait at least until we come home from Broken Hill.
hayleylea
26-03-2007, 07:23
Tan- my sisters kids use to bite through their bottles from an early stage. It could be just to do with his teething issues. I know when Cooper was teething he use to bite anything and everything so maybe he is doing it out of frustration. You will have to be carefull now he id doing that though because it can cause a choking hazard. Trust your insticts though - broken hill isnt that far away so just get a couple of new ones and take them if thats what you want to do then maybe when you get back you can try taking it off him....
What a weekend for you!! Im glad you had a good birthday (pitty about the wine but hey atleast you salvaged it!!!!) I bet you guys are tired today!! Cooper is also back on track with the "new" time - i guess thats the only good thing about him being sick. Im about to ring the doctor and see if i can get in. He is happy enough today but last night i could hear him snoring through the monitor because he is so blocked up and sounds a bit chesty so if anything it will give me peace of mind. :fingerscrossed: I can get in!!
I still have my cold so id say thats all the doctor is going to say but oh well..im going ot ask him about the free needle for cervical cancer - im going to try and just scrape in before i turn 26!! (which is a month away lol) AFter that you have to pay for it.
Anyway i better get going and call this doctor and get ready incase we can get in early.
Bye guys.
 Tan I'm with Hayles on the dummy issue. It probably does have something to do with teething - all my kids have done it at some stage and you've got to throw them away asap and buy new ones. Check them every day and at the slightest indication of wear, chuck 'em. If you think about how nice and soft and squishy dummies are (and relatively unbreakable until teeth come along!) then they're very appealing to munch on.
Hayles - while you're at the Dr's can you ask how much the needle is AFTER you turn 26? What a stupid cut off age! Who makes these pathetic rules? It should be free to all young women - I'm going to look into it after I have this baby as well. I hope you get yours in before you turn 26 - just make sure you ask about if you have to wait a length of time before you start TTC again - just in case.
hayleylea
26-03-2007, 09:34
Thanks Anna and yep ill ask the doc how much it is - i didnt even think to ask if it would affect the TTC etc! I got into the doc at 3.20 today - I feel like absolute Sh!!t aswell my nose is still running and i reckon i need about 2 whole days of just sleep - hands up who wants to take Cooper for two days
Alright guys this is just a quick one because im Cooking Cooper lunch, then putting him down to sleep and then hopefully getting some shut eye myself (I always say that though and it never happens...lol)
Oh i mentioned to Tan and Ange already but due to my mind being in a million places yesterday worried about my little man i managed to top off my day but smashing my car!! I ran my car into a pole in the car park!!! :banghead: Ah well its only a car - atleast we are OK. Its not too bad but its bad enough....sh!t happens! Hence my bad mood today and my lack of sleep lol. Ill get over it. I really need to stop whinging!

I have no idea what's been going on with everyone, but I'm going to make a concerted effort to keep up to date with everyone this thread around
Hope everyone's well. Seth and I are going to go and pick up some photos and buy some pj's cos Seth hasn't got any really warm ones that fit him anymore!!
Oh and my dress arrived and it is STUNNING!! SO worth the $51. I'm not showing Adam until the day of the races, so he can see me all dressed up.
Better go and get organised. Talk to you all soon.

OMG guys im soooo stupid! i didnt change my car clock back - i went down the street to grab some milk and i had a little look around the shops jumped back in the car and saw the time as being 11.30 - thats why i come home and put Coopers lunch in the oven   a bit ahead of myself!!!! ROFLMAO!!! oh man i really need some sleep!!!
Ange glad you found us and you will have to put a pic of you in your dress up after the races!! Is adam going to the races too? or just you and your gf?
LOL - I didn't even notice that we started yet another thread!
Nice to see you Ange! I want to see a photo of you in that dress too.
Well - Will has cut tooth 11 and it is one of those missing ones. From what I understand from all you other Mums - we have 5 left other than the 2 year old molars, the four eye teeth and his other missing one. Will has a slight temp today as well and I think it is probably a result of his extra big weekend so it is a nice quiet one here today.
LOL Hayley - you are such a dag. Although I think we have all done something similar at some stage with the stupid daylight saving time changes!
Oh yeah - always make sure you ask about the TTC thing, I think nearly all needles they say you have to wait 3 months at least. I know becauser before I had Will I asked about the chickenpox one and it was a 3 month wait.
I think I'll just replace Will's dummies. Not up for disrupting his nice little go to sleep routine just yet.
Alright - I had better go, chat to you all again later!

just been to the doctor and the diagnosis is....
TONSILLITIS
just what i suspected all along. I even said that to the doctor at the hospital (who didnt insist looking at his throat because his chest etc was fine anyway!! )
Oh well atleast I know. Now i have medicine for him and it should be clear by the end of the week!!! :yelclap: Poor little guy. The doc said that his high temp could have been why he had that "stare attack" yesterday...I feel better knowing whats wrong with the little man anyway!
Oh and I asked about the cervical cancer needle thingo - the cost for people over 26 ( you actually have till your 27th birthday) is $150  He said that some chemists will have cheaper scripsts but thats the average price. I also asked if it would affect TTC or if i can have it if i plan on TTC and he said no he didnt think so but he would have to look it up for me at a later date. For school age children it starts in April and all other women he said it will be around june.
Oh Hayles! Sorry to hear that Cooper has tonsilitis! He should be better soon after a dose of medication. Fingers crossed that you don't get it next. Thanks for the info on the cervical cancer immunisation. Looks like I'll have to cop the fee, I just turned 28 so I'm outside that age group. Hopefully it's still around when my girls are old enough to receive it.
Sorry to hear about your car - what do you own? Will insurance cover the damage? How much damage did you do? Poor car! Ah well, you're both safe and sound so that's the most important thing.
Ange great to hear your dress has arrived and that it's better than expected! We can't wait to see pics of you in it with those fab thighs you've been working on! All that walking is sure to pay off! Good to hear that you're going to keep up with the posts! You know you can always msn when you're bored and want a natter though!
Tan - LOL I didn't notice our new thread either and I'd posted in it! I have it bookmarked and only this morning did it come up as a closed thread! :detective: It was bound to happen, and I'd been meaning to pm Fi to close it before another mod did but never got around to it! Immy is powering along with her teeth too - all 4 molars are thru now and 2 eye teeth have broken with the other 2 pushing thru at the same time. She sure has a mouthfull when she smiles now! No doubt Will's smile is starting to "fill out" as well! :D
Guys I'm sooooo tired! Today Shane and I (and Nicola & Immy) went into town and started looking for bracelets to buy for each other. When we had Chelsea I bought Shane a watch, when we had Nicola he bought me a ring, so we decided to buy each other nice bracelets this time and seeing as though she's nearly 17mths and #4 is due soon we though we'd better get on with it! We have a lovely silver shop here who at the moment have an equally lovely sale on and so we chose 2 gorgeous pieces. Shane's we chose straight away as we knew what we wanted but it's so hard to find something nice for women - it's either cheap and nasty chains that'll break in seconds, or super expensive dress jewellery that's just not practical to wear every day. In the end I was tossing up between two - one that was $175 from a jeweller up the road ( but OH so gorgeous!) and a REALLY nice Italian silver bracelet that was shiny & brushed silver. I just couldn't decided and the lady actually let me take it OUT of the store up to the other one to compare them both together! LOL! I couldn't believe it! The stores were only a couple of mins away but really helped me make the decision! In the end Shane's bracelet was brought down from $160 to $120 and mine was $120 to $75 so we saved heaps and have two beautiful pieces that we can wear every day but will last a long long time. We're very happy!
So that's why I'm so tired! We also had a picture of the girls framed which looks just stunning, and then had some lunch before going to pick Chelsea up from school. Well our roast chicken is ready to serve so better feed the tribe! Talk soon! xoxo

Hey Anna - good work with the bracelets. I own a Holden Commodore. Its a pretty big dint right next to the left front headlight. ITs not all that noticable unless you knew where to look - my car is dark green so that makes it less obvious. Its not enough to go through insurance. Trent was really good. We were going to get a body kit for it anyway so now he just said we will get a front spoiler for it and get the dint fixed at the same time we get the bumper fixed and painted :smiliedance:
Just put the boy to bed. He has cheered up today so thats good to hear. He still isnt very well though poor little munchkin. Atleast now i know whats wrong with him and ill be able to sleep tonight
Just me again, even tho our bracelets arn't ultra expensive we thought we'd take a photo for insurance just in case.
Sorry, not the best photo but you get the idea.
BRACELETS (http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o236/chenicimo/March07bracelets002.jpg)
You can see Shane's better, but with mine - the round links are shiny silver and the long links joining them up are a brushed silver but it hasn't come up too well because of the flash. Oh well, you get the idea!
I'm off to bed, I'm SO tired and not feeling well. I think I might phone the hospital tomorrow if things don't feel better - the baby still feels really low and my friend commented that she thought my tummy looked low as well - and combined with the fact that I've had these tightenings/contractions since 15 weeks, has always though he'd come early - but this is too early and worth getting checked out. I'm trying not to be alarmed - he's still kicking from time to time which is a good sign, but just something doesn't feel "right". I have a theory to the reason behind it, but it's probably something that people don't want to hear about, so :fingerscrossed: he shifts into a better position tonight to ease my mind. :gloomy:
Night xoxo
Oh poor Cooper! We all know that Will and I have been there done that with the tonsillitis recently so all I will say is that I have lots of sympathy! And that hospital doctor is just an idiot.
Anna - I'd be going to get checked out too if I were you. Hopefully everything is ok but as this is bub 4 you would know if something felt wrong. I hope it is just a position thing and he is pressing on something funny and not tht he is low. Although some babes just do that, my closest friend looked like her bub was going to be born any minute from about 20 odd weeks because the bump was so low! But it was just how the bub decided to be. Born right on time!
I have to go - just wanted to pop in and give my sympathy to Hayles and Cooper. Oh and Will's new word, just in time for Easter - Bunny! :)

lol Ange! Your so funny. Hope you wake up fine and harry hangover doesnt make his visit (or is it only me he vists!?!)
Well im early this morning. My poor little man woke up at 6am crying and he sounded really sick. I went in there and he was still laying down so i tucked him back in and told him it was sleep time - he is still in there im not sure if he is asleep or not. I did attempt to go back to bed but i just couldnt sleep. OMG its FREEZING here again today!! Honestly one minute it was summer and now its winter! Cooper felt so cold this morning. He never keeps his blankets on..he had his flanny pjs on but he was still cold. Its hard because of a night its not quite cold enough to put his sleeping bag on....I guess i could just put his sleeping bag on of a night and no blankets and then if i think its cold during the night and morning get up and put blankets on him?? I dont mind winter but i hate that the cold weather came on so suddenly!! I might go curl up in bed with my blankie again lol.
Cath - How are things? getting worried about you, havent heard from you in awhile. I hope Deans recovery is going well.
:hugs: to Cooper and Hayley! It's so unpleasant when our littlies are sick. Just try not to stress too much like I did because it was all pointless in the end and Will got better anyway!
This morning is of course, day care morning. I am trying to get a whole heap of work done this week as I am not working for the next two weeks and of course noone is available that I need to speak with!
Better get going. Lots more to do!

Morning Girls
Harry Jnr DID make an appearance at my house this morning, I'm actually about to make him a cup of coffee and lace it with some panadol :devil6:
Funny though, I've ALWAYS had 'tummy' hangovers before and now I've got a 'head' hangover. Maybe it has something to do with not smoking anymore???
Adam stayed home with Seth while I went to pool comp last night, so he put Seth to bed etc. When I went in to get Seth up this morning, his blind was open, so he'd probably been awake since dawn!! He does look VERY cute in his new pj's though!!!
At the moment Seth is getting into EVERYTHING he knows he's not allowed to. It's like he's thinking 'I'll show mummy for going out and drinking too many cans' I think I'm going to have to think of LOTS of activities for today.
Tan - hope you got everything done.
Hayles - hope Coops is a little better today. What medicine did the dr's give you?
Talk to you all soon.

Ange - Harry jnr is just the start...i hope harry snr doesnt rear its ugly head as the day goes on!!
The doc gave him IBELIX SYRP (celefalexin) - if that helps lol!!! its an antibiotic of some sort. Just have to give him 5mls 3 x a day.
Cooper was whinging in my room today and i found him with the pram and sitting in it! i said do you want to go for a walk and he got all excited so i took him for a walk down the street. We got him a new sleeping bag so he should be warm tonight. Also got him a BARGAIN at kmart - a pair of shoes for 80 CENTS!!! ROFL!! Cant go past that now can you! they were $20 with a reduced tag of $14 but they scanned for 80cents so i grabbed them! :smiliedance:
Anyway this boy is very whingy and clingy today so i better go give him some cuddles and some TLC.
ETA: 80 cent pair of shoes CLICK!! (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/march2607067.jpg) They arent the nicest shoes he has but they are great for the price and look so cute with his trackies! lol
Hello strangers -I'm back.
Things have been a bit nuts around here with Dean coming home from hospital on Thursday morning and really struggling (we were almost off to emergency on Saturday morning). I think he has finally turned a corner and is going to improve from here. I have been running around like a mad woman looking after Dean and Paddy and then of course I developed insomnia worrying about Dean and hearing him moaning and pacing the hall all night for days so I have been feeling like ****. Anyway I finally got a decent nights sleep last night and I think Dean managed to get some sleep (I have only seen him for 30 seconds at 8am when he came out to get pain killers and I asked if last night was better and he grunted yes and went back to bed). My Mum came and got Paddy a little while ago to take him for the day and I am booked in for a massage this afternoon (I feel like my shoulders are touching my ears) and am going to try and get some housework done- the house is a bombsite and we now have no clean clothes.
Hayley so sorry to hear about Cooper's tonsilitis and the scary staring epsiode. Hope he is doing okay today -how cute about wanting to get in the pram. Excellent shoes for 80 cents - they are really cute - I would be very happy with that. I just love hearing your bargain stories - I so wish that would happen more often for me. I can't wait for life to get back to normal a bit and to get out to the shops now and then (at least I'm too busy to spend money at the moment I guess). Love the window photo too.
Lou sorry to hear about Maddi too -how is she doing? Paddy had conjunctivitis once and it was impossible to get those stupid eye drops in. How are the floors going?
Anna sounds like you had a lovely weekend and the bracelets are great -nice thing to do. Dean bought me a really nice watch for having Paddy - I wonder if he will think to do anything for this one -possibly not knowing him (but then again sometimes he surprises me). Hope that little man of yours shifts soon and lets you get more comfortable - sounds annoying.
Fi I don't think I have said yet that those photos of Owen are gorgeous -what a beautiful boy!! He definitely looks like Claire. Hope it is all going well -sounds like you have had a little bit of luck with Claire's sleeping just recently - hope it continues.
Happy birthday for Sunday Tan!!! Sounds like you had a busy day -hope you got to enjoy it a bit. Love Will's new word -cute.
Ange hope you are coping okay today and good to hear you are having fun -I am already thinking way ahead to when I finish breastfeeding and can go a bit nuts (might have a bit of a longer break before getting pregnant again next time - well at least an extra month to get a few decent drinks in). I pretty much stopped breastfeeding Paddy then was pregnant straight away so never got my chance to go a bit crazy - oh well -good for my liver I guess.
Anyway better get to this housework -only a couple of hours until my massage and lots to do. Chat soon.

Cath - GREAT to hear from you, was starting to get worried... Sorry to hear how much of a bad time Dean is having though!! Poor thing, and poor you!! :hugs: Hopefully things look up today. Enjoy your massage!
This is only a short post from me...nearly time to put Cooper down for a sleep im so hoping its a big one lol. He has been so naughty today - maybe its because he isnt feeling well? or maybe its just the age they are at and testing us! I sometimes find it hard not to grin at Cooper when is being naughty because he is so cheeky!! He managed to eat all his lunch today so im stoked! he hasnt eaten much in days so im pretty happy he ate lunch!
Better go. Talk soon...
Wonder how Fis going...its been a couple of days since we heard from her??
CATH! So glad to hear that things are ok! Poor, poor Dean - he really sounds like he'd struggled with the recovery of his operation. I hope he's living it up with all the care you're giving him because soon enough it'll be him looking after and running after you and Paddy! Honestly though, it does sound like he's having a rough go of it.
I'm very envious of your massage - although I think you totally deserve it! I actually felt the same way on Sunday night - I felt like my shoulders were up near my ears and I swear I'm 2 inches shorter at the moment! Enjoy sweetie, and maybe a small glass of wine tonight is a good way to top off your day!
I've already told Hayles today - but I find my own share of bargains too! At Christmas time we went to Kmart to buy a family sized George Foreman Roasting machine for Shane's sister & hubby - it was about $150 and when we went through the check out it scanned as $20! :D :smiliedance: We were too shocked to say anything and all the check out girl said was gee that's cheap! Needless to say we went back and bought a few more! LOL! I sure hope I kept one for myself!
Ok I have a confession to make - I'm stuck for ideas for dinner! Sort of anyway. I have 5 HUGE lamb shanks and I can't find a recipe that's family friendly! I want a hearty recipe that I can slow cook in the oven (at least 2 hours) and serve with lots of veggies. If anyone has a family secret, I NEED IT!!:chef:
I was thinking I might just throw some ingredients in a large dish, cover the lot with foil and slow cook on low temp in the oven. How does stuff like, onion, garlic, red wine, beef stock, tin tomatos, rosemary, oregano, bay leaves, bacon, capsicum, zucchini, whatever else I can find in the fridge sound- and maybe serve with some pasta or mash potato?
Ange - LMAO girl! You will do it to yourself! Good luck getting rid of Harry jnr - I hear he's a pill!
Hayles - Cooper sounds a little more cheery today, hopefully the medicine will kick in soon.
Tan - I'll say it again, you're so amazing to do what you do from home! I just wouldn't be so disciplined!
Better organise a late lunch - Immy's still in bed, as per usual for Tuesday!
I just read a thread on favourite toasties fillings so that's what we're having - YUM!
P.S. what does ETA mean??
Wonder how Fis going...its been a couple of days since we heard from her??
Yeah me too - and Lou as well, and Nat - hope she's not too sick:fingerscrossed:

ETA means Edited To Add...
Gotta go im starving!
Hi Cath! Nice to hear from you although it sounds as though the past week has been pretty rough. Poor Dean - that operation sounds as though it was pretty nasty. Keep focussing on the quiet sleep when he is recovered! I am kind of tempted to send Troy off to the doctor for the same thing, the past week he has been absolutely shocking.
It's good that Paddy has gone to your Mum's for the day, lets you get some stuff done and maybe even have a little rest. Put your feet up and have a nice cuppa at some stage.
Ange - you are too funny. I'm a two pot screamer so I can't imagine what I would be like after a few cans of scotch and coke. Yes - our littlies are always at their naughtiest and noisiest when we are under the weather!
Anna - lamb shanks make fabulous soup. That's my only suggestion. You do know that not every meal has to be a culinary masterpiece don't you?
So Hayley - were there anymore shoes for 80c? Poor old Will has hardly any shoes that he can wear, a pair of sneakers, a brown pair of sneaker type shoes, and a pair of velcro sandal things. He has brown leather sandals too but they really are too small now. He also has a pair of slippers but that's it. I am a bit slack really, but I've never been very big on shoes myself, just the basics and I think that might have spilled over to Will!
Still working away - one of my clients sent me a fruit hamper for my birthday which I got yesterday and thought it was pretty cool so I am a bit more inspired today.
hayleylea

Tan - in asnwer to your question  there were more of the 80cent shoes. When Trent got home from work he said to go down and see if there were any bigger sizes and grab some - so i went back down and i got a pair of the same shoes in a size 9 (the only size they had apart from a size 5 and 7 i think - if you want a pair let me know!! lol) And i also picked this pair up CLICK! (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/march2607070.jpg) for 60cents~!!!!! Yep you heard right 60 cents!!! They arent the nicest looking shoes but for 60 cents i had to get them..thought they would be great out around our house yard at our property...i dont care if they get dirty or what he does with them! they had a few pairs of them too if anyone is interested rofl. Im such a bargain hunter arent I! But honestly you cant leave bargains like that!! I dont care when he grows out of these ones at them prices. Tan, im not a shoe fanatic at all...i only have the basics aswell...i have heaps of shoes for Cooper but most of them were hand me downs.
Cooper slept for 3 hours today which im happy about...
Better go...the boys are calling.
Hi girls!
Lou emailed me from work this afternoon and wanted to pass on a huge HELLO to everyone. She's missing bubhub heaps but her home computer is still all packed up.
Maddi is really not well at the moment. Lou said that she has an ear infection in both ears and her chest, and that the Dr said she's bordering pnemonia :crying: . Tony is home looking after her as Lou doesn't have sick leave. Lou has also started feeling unwell and having lots of body aches - here's hoping that she stays healthy.
I forgot to mention earlier that I feel a lot better today. I've had 3 days of barely being able to walk from the pressure in my pelvic area and the boy had dropped dramatically. This morning the pressure had gone but he still wasn't as high as normal as I wasn't filling out my shirt as much. I've been fine all day, but when I was walking back to the car from collecting Chelsea from school I was stopped short by a HUGE contraction that took my breath away. It lasted a couple of mins and it was jolly painful, like a stitch, but like a contraction. I drove to town to pick up Shane from work (he wanted to leave early), things settled down as Shane drove home and the boy was kicking away madly so I knew he was ok. I've been debating whether or not to go get checked out but I've thought why bother if I'm feeling ok again. I'm going to continue to monitor it as it's FAR to early to meet my little fella just yet. Keep you informed.
Better go - Immy is yelling for dad but his butt is firmly planted on the couch! Oh wait! He's up! Hallelujah! :yelclap:
Oh No! Poor little Maddi! Our little people are having such a rough time of it at the moment. Stupid change in seasons - brings all this stuff about.
Lots and lots of :hugs: for Lou and here's hoping she stays well!
hayleylea
27-03-2007, 18:30
Oh poor little Maddi!!!!! :hugs: I hope she gets better real soon and it doesnt lead to pnemonia - poor little girl and poor lou too!! Sending get well wishes their way!!! :hugs: :hugs:
Anna - lamb shanks make fabulous soup. That's my only suggestion. You do know that not every meal has to be a culinary masterpiece don't you?
LMAO Tan! Yes I know! But I knew what I wanted to eat but couldn't find a recipe that was family friendly! In the end I made up my own from bits of recipes that I liked and the kids were asking for more! Now THAT'S what I like to hear! :smiliedance:
Here's what I did:
* Brown the lamb shanks in a hot fry pan & set in a large oven dish
* Fry some onion, garlic, bacon, rosemary, basil, oregano in the same fry pan until soft, add a GOOD half to 1 cup of white or red wine (I used white and you CAN'T miss this step!) Simmer until it starts to evaportate and reduce (this takes the alcohol out of it and leaves the flavour)
* Add 2 cans of diced tomatos, simmer, good splosh of beef stock liquid, simmer, 2-3 tsp beef stock powder, 2-3 Table spooons tomato paste, few splashes worchestershire sauce, simmer away for a few mins. (All these amounts are approx and based on how much meat you have - I had 5 lamb shanks totalling 2.5 kg )
* Pour over your lamb shanks, cover with lid or foil and slow cook on about 180 degrees (or less if you have more time) in the oven until done
* Serve with mash potato and I didn't have room in the dish for my veggies so I just steamed some carrots and zucchini and poured the tomato mix from the casserole dish over everything - YUMMMMMMM! Wasn't too heavy and very tasty!
Oh guys so sorry but I have to have a little vent here.
Hope this doesn't get deleted.
I've been reading all the circumcision threads for a few weeks now (after posting my own as well) TRYING to get information on it from both points of view and I just have to say, is there ANY thread WHATSOEVER that *a particular member* isn't all over? I'm really having such a hard time getting an equal amount of information for pros and cons because it seems like those who choose to have it done - for whatever reason, are being beaten upon! I have such a hard decision to make and I'm the kind of person that HAS to have all the facts before a decision can be made, but it's just starting to p!ss me off so much that all threads end with this one member throwing their lengthy posts and numerous links with graphics that play on the emotions, into it.
So sorry, DH and I just arn't getting the info we need.
I haven't even thought to ask you girls who have little boys what you've chosen to do. :o
Again, sorry for the vent and thanks for being here to listen - just so frustrated right now  :banghead:

Anna - I know the circ threads make my blood boil!!! It really gets under my skin that people get ganged up apon because of the decision they made. Im happy to say that Cooper is circumcised...he was done at 5 weeks - i went in with him during the procedure and if you want to know more just buzz me on msn. It was a decision i didnt take likely but im happy with the one I made. The doctor here did reasearch on the percent of boys circumcised in this area and the towns near and it was 60% (not done) to 40% (done) - and in the end we choose to do it, Trent really wanted it done so thats the decision we made. I certainly dont have a problem with those who didnt get it done, its a personal decision. Get all the info you need though...maybe go to your doctor and have a talk to him aswell (we did this and he gave us lots of facts and figures etc).
Anyway im off to bed....but Anna if you need any info on the actual procedure id be happy to share my experience with you.
Ah the circumcision debate. I stay clear of that are of the forum, I kind of assumed it would be as controversial as the BF vs FF ones. Will's not circumcised, there's no medical reason for it so we didn't do it. But I am certainly not passionately against it or anything. Those stats were interesting though Hayles, I thought it was less common these days, obviously not!
Well - poor little Will was crying again last night and we are pretty sure it's those nasty teeth. He was madly chewing his dummy as he cried. I think I have finally started to accept that when he wakes and there seems to be a problem that it's never going to be medicine and then instant sleep. He needs comfort. So last night he lay down with us for a while and calmed down, eventually he started to get fidgety so I took him back to his own bed where he had a little bit of a grizzle but then all was quiet again. I think it was an hour all up and that was a lot better than the past few wake ups where it has been 2 hours every time. Once he is asleep again we don't hear from him til morning so it obviously solves the problem. Poor little guy though - he had big tears!

Tan them stats were only this side of the mountains the doctor that did Cooper said he did about 5 a week sometimes more! He did also say that he goes through patches of heaps of people getting it done and then not so many. In sydney I remember him telling us that there was something like only 10% done...cant remember exact figures but something like that. Like i said im TOTALLY not against people who dont get it done, and if people want to judge me about it then they can go ahead (i have had my fair share of people on here say something about this decisioin it just makes me so mad). Not you guys at all - just to make that clear. Ange and I often visit the circ threads and shake our heads (I dont post in there I dont see the point, unless people ask for info about the actual procedure)- I think you dont like someone elses decision then thats fine but to hunt them down like wild animals and say really hurtfull stuff is another story! GRRRRRR - See now im raving on about it..it really does get me wound up lol. Sorry about that outburst guys. OK ive got that out of my system now lol.
Tan im sorry to hear about Wills toothy pegs!! - Ah well it will soon be over with. Poor little guy. Cooper slept much better last night - i think he was much warmer! I ended up taking back the sleeping bag and getting him one of them all in one polar fleece jump suits - he looks oh so cute in it and so so cuddly!! I thought he might have got tangled in the sleeping bags now because he moves around alot. He still got up at 7 but thats not too bad of a time to get up so im OK with that. He is happy as larry today - so looks like we are on the road to recovery! :smiliedance: I didnt think Tonsiliitis was contagious but i just looked it up on the net and it says that it is?! WOW there you go. How stupid do I feel. Looks like we WONT be going to playgroup today then!
Better go get breakkie organised.

OK voting time AGAIN in the photo comp!! if you havent voted vote for me! lol VOTE FOR ME!!! CLICK HERE! (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=79206)
Ok Hayles - I voted. I tell you what - all this voting had better pay off sometime soon. Do you think you might win one day?
Will is up and seems his normal self. How is it that toothy pegs only play up at night? I guess they probably are annoying in the day too but Will is way to busy to notice.
Gotta go - please don't think I am anti - circumcision, it just wasn't for us!

I've voted too Hayles and so far you're winning :smiliedance:
Grrr - circ debates. Why can't everyone just respect everyone elses decisions? Oh and I can only guess WHICH BH member Anna was referring to who haunts the circ threads and hits people over the head with reasons AGAINST it. LIke Hayles has already said, we sometimes go in there with a 'roll your eyes' attitude because the anti-circers in there are like Nazi's. It's not worth entering into the debate just to be told again and again that I'm a monster who has mutilated my child and that I have no right to do that blah blah blah. So by that token, if my son comes to me when he's 5 and wants a tattoo, I have no right to tell him no????????? :barf: Whatever.
Sorry, just makes me mad. I'm glad we can all be adults in this thread, at least :D
I'm trying to figure out what to do today. Adam should be home around lunch time because he had to work til 2.30am then start again at 7.30am. Not sure if he has to do it all again tonight yet or not though.
Hope the boys are feeling better Tan and Hayles.
Better go play with this little munchkin.

OMG im sure at times I have 2 kids and not 1!! the other one apart from Cooper is Roxy!! She is into michief again - she almost just gave me heart failure. Cooper and I went outside and next minute i turn around and heres Roxy throffing at the mouth and then she started throwing up! I was hysterical..which made Cooper upset so i locked him inside because i didnt know what was wrong with Roxy and i didnt want him near her incase she got aggressive...Anyway i went out and she stopped throwing up...but there was blood and grass in it. I rang Trent and he came rushing home....but then she was as good as gold. Knowing Roxy she has obviously eaten something that she isnt suppose to and its cut her a bit...She is her happy self at the moment, i have her in her area locked in with a big bowl of water just so i can keep an eye on her. If she throws up again ill take her to the vet to get checked out. So there was my fright for the day lol. Cooper has been extremely naughty today! He is testing the boudaries alot at the moment - he knows what he is doing is naughty but he is seeing how far he can go with it and to what limits he can stretch it..so its all fun and games here. Im not complaining though because he is a good kid all round and being naughty is all apart of them learning. He is in bed already. Been there for about 10 minutes. Not sure if he is asleep or not but he wanted to go so i put him in there. He didnt want anything to eat - i figure if he wanted to go to bed then he is obviously tired - god love him.
Better go..

Phew! Finally found you guys & did a quick catch-up! I was wondering why the Oct thread wasn't showing up in my user control panel!!
I'd better get moving on replying while Owen's still asleep. Dave is playing golf in a sponsor's day today & arranged for Claire to spend the day at mum & dad's to avoid a day like we had yesterday!!
Dave went to work & I won't go into all the details, but between our rental inspection, the lawn mowing bloke & Claire being her usual toddler self, poor Owen hardly slept all day & poor mummy is a frazzled shadow of her former self!! Claire actually was quite good yesterday, all things considered, she just picked her moments badly.
Circ debates - I deliberately don't even look at them. People get so passionate and heated about the whole thing that they often don't consider the feelings of others. It goes for both sides of the argument.
Anna, for your benefit, I personally didn't even consider having Owen done. It's just not something I felt comfortable with. If there'd been a medical reason for it, then I would have looked at the options available, but as it would have been purely cosmetic, I couldn't justify it. As Tania said though, it's not that I think no-one should do it, it just wasn't for us. Dave did say to me when I was PG with Claire (before we knew she was a girl) that he'd get done if he was a boy, however when I asked him why, he just looked a bit baffled and said "because that's just what you do." But when I explained to him why I wouldn't do it, he agreed and now he wouldn't even consider it either. It's just what you & Shane feel comfortable with. FWIW, I don't think you should have to worry about the "looking like his father" thing. Neither of my brothers are done & they never had an issue with it.
Funny circ story: Here on the sunny coast, there are actually only 2 doctors who will do circs. One's name is Dr Ballsey & the other is Dr. D!ck! I kid you not!! True story!!
Poor Lou & Maddi! I hope they are both OK!! Oh and Troy too. We all know what sick men are like! That'd be the last thing Lou would need to deal with right now!!
Hayley, how's Cooper going? That's good that you got an answer, although not so good that it's tonsilitis. :(
Tan - poor Will!!! Man I hate teething!!! Claire's eye teeth seem to come & go. They seem to have caused her a bit of grief here & there, but have yet to come through. They are taking FOREVER!!!! At least they haven't caused her much pain recently. I think we can be thankful for that!!
Cath, I'm glad to hear things are going better. Poor Dean sounds as though he's had a rough time of it though. And it must be pretty stressful for you having to deal with looking after both Dean & Paddy, and still do everything you normally do. Hopefully you'll be able to have a well-earned rest soon! Oh, and that massage sounds divine!!! Hope you enjoyed it!!
Lou, I was thinking the other day that I forgot to answer a question you asked me a while back. You asked me whether I thought bottlefeeding made them sleep longer. I have to say that I haven't really noticed a difference. When I first started bottlefeeding Claire I thought it did because she was much more settled, but that was more likely due to the fact that she wasn't able to feed properly when I was breastfeeding her, so on the bottle she was able to get a full feed (more easily too, so less frustrating for her) and was much more settled. Owen though loves his mumma-milk and his sleep too!! The past couple of nights he's been waking more often, but I think he has wind issues & that's the reason for that. Otherwise it's not uncommon for him to wake only once for a feed during the night. Or even to go from say 11 to 5. (Lucky me!!)
OK, better go. I want to get the dishwasher unpacked/repacked & the kitchen cleaned up before Owen wakes up.
Good to catch up with you all!!

Hey Fi, Great to hear from you...Glad to hear Owen is a good sleeper!! I agree totally with Fi Anna its what you and shane are comfortable with on the whole circ thing....oh and I also agree that its not only the people against circ that get heated on here and rather nasty - which is why i stay out of it all together. Fi i had to laugh at the names of the doctors thats just hillarious!! There is only one in Bathurst that does it aswell - doesnt have a funny name though rofl!
Coopers going good. He is a bit whingy and tired every now and again but i think he is definatley on the mend.
gotta go im cleaning out Coopers draws yet again packing away the stuff that doesnt fit him
Talk soon
Hi girls
Busy day here.
Took the girls to Rock 'n' Rhyme and then Story time at the library. We also stopped at a friends house and picked her and her 2 kids up - Lara is 18 mths and Blake is 8 weeks old. Anyway, we played some musical car seats so Lara sat in Nicola's, Nicola sat in Chelsea's, I installed Blake's baby seat in the boot seat and Chelsea sat in the boot seat as well, but AFTER Blake was put in! WOW it was an effort but it was a good day out. We took the kids to Maccas for lunch after and had a nice long sit while the kids played.
Thanks for your input about the circ issue everyone - Hayles and Ange - I'm with you, I read those posts and just roll my eyes then just get angry that "you-know-which-member" always has to have their say at the end of it.
We're not for or against it at the moment, it's just another issue we have to research before the baby is born. Hayles I'd love to chat with you sometime to hear abour your reasons as to why you had the procedure done for Cooper.
Fi - I agree that to do it just so he'd look like Daddy is not reason enough for us (I think originally it was one of Shane's reasons, but since we've started looking into it he's eyes have opened a bit). LMAO about the Dr's names by the way!!!
For medical reasons, there'd be no hesitation. Just the same that if I was told I'd have to have a limb amputated to save a life - it'd be done.
I just wish that people from both sides in those threads would put their emotions away for just a few mins and just stick to the facts, at least long enough to recommend some web sites!!
We actually don't have access to much info at ALL here in Tas because we don't have any Dr's who do it. If it's medical, then we have to arrange for surgery through the hospital, but if we just "want" it done for whatever reason, we have to find a Dr in Melb etc to do it then book in, fly over etc. All this lack of info makes it much harder to reach an educated decision.
Sorry to hear about your hectic day yesterday Fi - are you up to a small glass of wine to unwind with yet?! Owen sounds like he's powering away with the BF-ing! What a trooper! And to only wake once overnight, that's AMAZING! I'm hoping to get to our normal routine of two feeds overnight pretty fast!
Oh how funny is this! Today my friends baby woke and started to cry, he was due for his feed and as we were driving back to her house she held her chest as she felt her let down. She commented on it and as soon as she did I got tingles too! OMG it was so weird to have that reaction to another baby's cry! Even just now thinking of it makes my boobs tingle again! *sigh* I guess everything is getting ready for the feeding road ahead, not long to go I guess.
I found myself wondering today why I'm doing this again. Immy is becoming so independant now and it was just so nice to sit back this arvo and let her run around with the girl. I can't imagine doing all that with 3 kids plus a newborn, having to sit and BF at Maccas or having to run after a child with a baby in my arms :( although in my heart of hearts I know I'm going to love this and it's definately what we wanted. My friend asked me today that if I'd had a girl, boy, girl, or boy, boy, girl etc would I have gone back for a 4th? DEFINATELY, was my answer :) .

Hi guys...
Anna yep just buzz me sometime tommorrow on msn ill have a chat to you about my reasons for circumcising Cooper (Trent did want Cooper to look like him but I too didnt think that was a valid enough reason in itself!!)...Its a shame that you cant get hold of a doctor. You could maybe call the doctor in melbourne that does it and get him to send you some info. By law now the doctors actually have to provide you with all the information....and the parents actually have to sign a peice of paper so that later on down the track the doctor cannot get sued for the procedure. They have to give you stats etc - this was done in one appointment and then they send you away to think about it and go over everything and then you go back for the next appointment for the procedure. Anyway ill talk more about that to you on msn.
Im buggered tonight. Im going to lie on the lounge, have some icecream and watch Cold case and then medium...love them shows!
Ill talk soon...night guys!

 You know how i told you about my naughty Roxy dog today?? Well i thought she must have eaten something she shouldnt have to cause her to throw up etc. Anyway she seems to be fine, she is eating, running around etc...But this afternoon I noticed her lip is all swollen!! I looked in there and there is like a little puncture wound and a bit of a graze. Im thinking that she might have got bitten by a Bee - Im going to be worried about her all night now! I know she should be fine because she hasnt been sick since it happened but her mouth looks so sore!
Just out of curiosity does anyone have a binder addition that was from a newsagent (not sure when it come out) its a big white folder and you had to collect the different magazines - it was all about conception/pregnancy/birth? Im in desperate need of a copy. Trents Cousin gave me her one of these and we got flooded awhile back and it got damaged. Ive been looking for one ever since but have had no luck. Now one of her friends is pg and she asked for it. I havent told her the bad news yet because im hoping to find her another! Can anyone help? She will be fine if i tell her but i still would like to find her another one if i can....
night guys.

Funny you should mention a glass of vino, Anna! I'm just enjoying a cheeky red as we speak! And some nice dark chocolate ~ yum! yum!
Both the kids are in bed asleep (although I think I just hear Owen cough.......) so I'm having a little "me" time. Today was great though. Claire had a ball (as usual!) at mum & dad's place and Owen slept for 5 hours from midday! So I pretty much had the place to myself to catch up on a few things I wanted to do and it was great!! I feel much more relaxed.
I just can't wait now til I can drive again & get back into some of our old routine. I know Claire gets a bit of cabin fever being inside all day, and TBH I am starting to feel a bit the same way. Dave's been great though, taking us all out whenever he's home, even if it is just for a browse around the shops, or out to do some groceries.
Anna, with all the contractions, baby dropping down, let-down reflex etc. you sound as though you are due this month, rather than July!! I guess maybe once you've had 3 kids already your body gets used to it all more quickly & knows what's expected of it a lot sooner.
Weird - I never feel the let-down reflex at all! First I know about it is getting a big wet patch on my shirt or in my lap!! A little warning would be nice!
Hayles, sounds like you have a nice relaxing evening planned! Hope you enjoy it! It might be just what the Dr ordered!

28-03-2007, 20:24
Sorry Hayles, can't help you with the binder thing, but maybe ask at a newsagent. Sometimes they can back order those types of things.
As for Roxie, do you have anything wooden around that she may have chewed on? That injury sounds like the sort of thing dogs can get from chewing on wood. If so, keep an eye on her & take her to the vet if she starts looking a little listless. I don't want to scare you, as I have no idea if this is actually what has happened, and even if she was chewing on wood, this would be quite rare, but it is possible for them to get tetanus from chewing on wood. Just a heads up because if it were my dog, I'd want to know.

28-03-2007, 20:32
WOW thanks Fi, Thats good to know. Roxy chews on absolutley everything so god knows what she got into to. Im going to let her sleep in the laundry tonight that way i can keep a better eye on her. She seems fine...but im still worried about her. As much as she makes me mad most days she is still a big part of our family.....:fingerscrossed: she is OK. If her lip is still swollen tommorrow ill take her to the vet and get her looked at. I am thinking it was a bee or something though from her lip swelling up. My mums dog is allergic to bees and her lip looks the same as what my mums dog did when she got bit (only her whole face swelled up). She is still jumping around and stuff so she mustnt be feeling to bad. (why does everything have to happen at once...??? if it rains it pours in this house hold lol)
Oh Fi you're scaring me! I already have a good friend up the road on stand-by to run me to the hospital in the middle of the night - she's the one who swears I'm going to go early. As well as that, she had a friend whose baby arrived 6 weeks early and she experienced lots of contractions through her pregnancy too.
Then I was speaking to Tan about it all the other day and she was telling me about some friends of hers too. Apart from actually making myself pay more attention to what's going on, I'm starting to freak out! None of this has happened before in any of my pregnancies and I'm starting to get a bit scared. Maybe I should have gone to get checked out? To late now I guess. I keep thinking that because bub is moving fine, my tummy is back to normal again, pressure has gone and I haven't had a contraction since Tuesday, then I'm right for now.
Although, from talking to you all the last few days, I've decided that if ANYTHING out of the ordinary happens again, I promise to take myself for a check up or to hospital straight away. I'm also going to start writing down what happens when so I remember.
Anyway. . . :fingerscrossed: my little boy stays put for another 14 weeks and doesn't give me too much grief!
My oh my how my washing has piled up. I have about 50 loads to do, washing machine full, dryer full, every basket I own has either clean or dirty clothes in it! Last week really took it's toll and we're running out of clothes! Nicola's off to Grasshoppers this morning (if she ever finishes her damn breakfast) so I guess I'll put Immy to bed and get started on the process of cleaning, drying, folding/ironing. I really don't mind doing it, but I hate being interrupted. And today is a day full of interruptions so I'm more likely to end up sitting here on bubhub which I will TRY not to do! If anyone catches me here, you have permission to tell me off!!
Oh I got a message from a friend yesterday saying that our local mums group is starting up again tomorrow! I'm so excited! I'm making some apple cinnamon muffins for the kids morning tea and I'm really looking forward to catching up with my friends again - it's been a long break! We've all been friends for years, most of us meeting around high school/college/uni age at church. Now it's a whole new world that we all have kiddies so we'll be meeting fortnightly (last year it was weekly) just down the road. I so can't wait!
Ok, better go get these kids ready - OH CR@P! Look at the time! 15 mins to get 3 girls dressed, cleaned, hair done and up the road!
Hayles have you tried ebay for the binder folder thing? Otherwise, I'd just tell your friend what happended and appologise - it's not your fault that it got damaged in the flooding, good on you for trying to replace it.
As for Roxy, if it is a bee sting - her lip will still be swollen tomorrow so I'd get her to the vet for a check up today if you can, my old dog loved chewing stuff too and he got into so much mischief. If Roxy has been chewing, then it could even be a splinter that's gotten infected and needs to be pulled and treated. Let us know how you go
Hi everyone,
Dean has mucked around with the computer (he is obviously feeling much better) and I think it will be a while before he gets it back to normal (lost my email - hopefully it's in there somewhere).
Hayley hope your poor puppy is okay. Can't help with the binder thing - sorry. Good work with all your bargain shoes.
Anna that's all a bit scary about having contractions already. When's your next appt? We didn't have Paddy circumsised because we had no reason to do it but have no issues with those who choose to do so. Hope you get on top of that washing today. I am almost under control here except for the vacuuming which I am putting off because it reacts with the skin on top of my lip for some stupid reason.
Fi sounds like you are doing very well. How's the caesar. recovery this time around? Can you lift Claire or anything (I know you are meant to avoid it -I am wondering what it will be like in reality).
Poor Lou with Maddi -doesn't sound good. Hope you are going okay Lou.
Tan hope Will is going okay with those teeth. Paddy has a molar coming through that is creating a bit of unsettled behaviour here too.
Okay - just a quick check in -I have a little man wanting to press buttons so had better go. Will chat again soon.
Cath
Hi Cath - nice to hear from you. So glad that Dean is on the mend even if it does mean that he has been fiddling with the computer. Sounds a lot like my DH.
I've been meaning to say that for the last month Troy has been snoring like a train too which is very annoying. I keep moaning about how tired I am and glaring at him so he gets the hint that it is his fault! It is quite strange because he used to snore when he was overweight but it stopped when he lost a lot of weight. Recently he has been dieting a bit and has lost a few kilos but has been snoring again. He's actually agreed to go to the doctor about it as he says he feels like there is something in the back of his throat. Agreeing is one thing, actually going is another. But it is a start!
Well - after umming and aahing all afternoon yesterday about whether to give Will some nurofen before bed I finallly decided not to do it and gave him some Hylands and some Sedagel as well. He slept through which was just great but was wide awake at 6:30 this morning with a very smelly and revolting nappy! We decided to try the Sedagel as I swear bonjela does nothing for him. He's been pretty good today too so far so I am hoping that those toothy pegs might be settling down or they respond really well to the Hylands.
Hayley - I can't help with the binder either but I know how annoying it is when things get damaged like that. Try the newsagent otherwise just tell your friend what happened. You could try calling the people who did the series - they may be able to send you a new one.
Anna - I am glad the boy has moved again for you. Maybe he is just experimenting with possies while he still has room. :fingerscrossed: it all settles down for you now.
Oh I hope little Maddi is getting better again. She sounded very unwell and it is so sad to see a littlie sick like that.
Fi - you sound like you are going great guns with the two kids. Owen is obviously thriving - how do you go when he sleeps 5 hours with the whole BF thing. I was under the impression that when they did long sleeps like that early on Mum gets really uncomfortable!
OH - as far as housework goes, I have done washing but not folding or ironing this week. I keep putting it off til I finish my work and send my files back. Then there will be a cleaning whirlwind around here!
OK gotta go and do some timesheets.
MrsMiggins
29-03-2007, 11:34
Yeah, I have to admit Tan that sometimes I am wanting Owen to hurry up & wake up because I feel I'm about to burst!!
I'm glad Will slept better last night. And that sucks about Troy's snoring!! Dave snores every so often & I never hesitate to deliver a swift elbow to the ribcage!!
Cath, I actually have found my recovery from this c/s much, much easier than my first for some reason! I don't even feel I've had a c/s most of the time. I was up & walking around the following morning with no real pain at all & I was only taking a couple of panadol here & there & the occasional Voltaren. As for lifting, well I've been trying to avoid it, but it's not always possible. I mean when no-one else is around, how exactly is Claire meant to get out of her cot?? So I have been lifting her when I have to, but haven't had any issues. I've been trying not to overdo it.
Anna, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to frighten you! I'm sure everything is just fine. But I think as you said if you have any more issues then it wouldn't be a bad idea to get things checked out, if only for your own peace of mind!

:hey guys just a quick one from me. Roxy woke up and her lip is all down and she is running round like a maniac again so everything seems OK. :smiliedance:
We have been painting Coopers room today...(Cooper helped too  ) Trent went out there early this morning and then Cooper and I went to the paint shop this morning and picked out he colour for the bottom of his walls (the hills for the animals to go on lol) Anyway i took a picture of the colour that was on the packet of stickers and they scanned it to match the colour and if i wanted that colour it was going to cost me $85  (that was for 4 litres!!!) So i decided that i wasnt going to have that colour and go for something a little bit less expensive. So i picked out a colour called Advocado cream...its a really nice green colour and should look good. I did one coat of the "hills" today....i thought painting hills would be easy peezy - I thought wrong! lol. Im so critical of myself so im not entirely happy but i had a cranky toddler so i left the rest to Trent - he assures me its fine. I cant complain though because the little boy seems under the weather today. He too got up at 6.30 (Tan, our boys always seem to wake up at the same time!) He fell asleep on the way out to our house at 10 and had about an hour sleep and hasnt been to sleep since...hence the fact that he is holding onto my leg whinging as i write this lol:laughing:
Better cut this short we are both covered in paint so we are off to have a shower. TAlk soon guys!

OK guys ive made the final again http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=79620
The photo im up against is a pretty good photo so dont know how i will go...Surely i have to win one of these days!
ETA: Check out Coopers latest video http://www.dropshots.com/hayleylea - its of him feeding his ted his bottle lol! You have to have your speakers on to listen to the sound effects he makes when pretending to feed him - TOO CUTE! Dont mind me being a bogan in the back ground LMAO
Well I HAD to procraastinate today didn't I?
I got one small load of washing on and some towels in the drier and that's about it. I'm so very lethargic this arvo and I caught myself drifting off and starting to snore in the arm chair with my belly hanging out because the baby was kicking so much.
I did manage to make some mini muffins for tomorrows morning tea, I forgot how quick, easy and totally yummy this recipe is! Just have to share it with you as it's so simple that you don't even need to right it down and the kids can help easily:
2cups SR flour
2cups milk
2cups grated cheese
2 small onions diced
2 rashes of bacon diced
1-2 eggs (1 is usually enough because of the cheese)
Salt & pepper
Cooking spray for greasing tins
Mix all together with an electric beater.
Fill greased muffin or mini muffin trays 3/4 full with mixture and bake at 180 until golden. (About 20 mins for full sized muffins, 10-12 mins for mini muffins - depending on your oven.) If muffins stick to your tin, run a wooden skewer around the outside of the muffin and it'll pop right out. Serve warm with a smear of butter - YUMMMMMMMMM! :chef:
Other things you can add (I kept mine simple for the kids):
chopped olives
chopped sundried tomatos
relish
pesto
herbs
garlic
You get the idea! I dice the onion and bacon (and any other extra ingredient) in my mini baby sized food blender.
Chelsea and Nicola just got up and took my spot on the couch. I wonder if I could possibly muster the energy to get their laundry basket of clothes and put a load on? Most likely what will happen is that I'll open their bedroom curtains and collapse on one of their beds and fall asleep - and that's where Shane'll find me when he gets home! Hmmm... might not tempt fate, I'll just crawl up on the floor with some cushions in the sun instead! LOL!
Oh Hayles that other photo is amazing as well!
You're still in the lead by 4 votes at the moment!
You might just win! When does it finish?
hayleylea
29-03-2007, 16:23
it ends on the 1st i think. Im not sure if i will win or not. I love the other photo aswell....its OK i dont mind loosing to a good photo! hehe. YOu know me ill try again next time!! :D See how i go though i might still win yet...
My little man is soooo tired tonight. I just put the wiggles on for him...Trents still out at our house...Coopers had dinner already, i could do with an early night myself.
Tan i forgot to say im glad Will slept through for you without medicine! YAY. Told you he would ;)
Anyone got any ideas for getting paint out of clothes? I got some one my jeans today (before i changed into my paint clothes! :banghead: )
LMAO Hayles, you remind me of my nanna!
I can't believe Cooper eats so early! My nan always use to have dinner on the table at 5pm and is STILL trying to feed the kids lunch at 11am and dinner at 5pm, then when I tell her to leave it an hour, she ignores me and feeds them anyway but wonders why they're hungry again an hour later! :D
As for the paint, depends how much is on there, if it's only a little bit then maybe it can scrape it off with a sharp knife when it's dry? Otherwise, keep it damp and try some of these google ideas:
windex
hairspray
toothpaste
use a toothbrush and gently scrub at the stain until removed. Apparently hairspray was the most popular choice with greatest success! Hmm.... will keep that in mind for next time!

Anna - Cooper has only had a mouthfull of cereal, a biscuit and about 5 chips all day so thats why he had dinner early - not to mention only had an hour sleep so i could hardley make him wait till 6-630 to have dinner!! lol. Mind you he always eats around 5.30-6 anyway...otherwise he gets too tired or distracted and doesnt want to eat. Its worked so far so i just keep up his routine. He also eats lunch at around 11.30 most days because he is usually in bed by 12...I cant make the poor boy starve! :D Thanks for the tips on paint removal too!
He is sound asleep now god love him.....
Anyway im off to have some dinner myself...talk soon guys..

ROFL! Good one Ange. I have an early bird on my hands today. I just got him up but he has been talking in his cot for god knows how long. lol
Im debating on whether going to my mums or not today..
Nothing much to say here...ill talk soon.
Hey Ange!
Have you beat us up or just not gone to bed! That's more your style.
LOL Hayley - I had an earlybird too. So much for my daylight saving theory! He's up at sparrow's fart anyway.
This morning I am off to be spoilt. I am having a facial (voucher from my in-laws) followed by a haircut/colour etc. Woohoo - pamper me morning!
Hayley -Will eats around 5:30 most days too, sometimes a little earlier. He just can't make it much later because just like Cooper he gets tired and fidgety and past it. Occasionally we have stretched him out til 6 but it's a lot easier when it is a bit earlier. He also seems to be a hungry monkey and even though I give him afternoon tea he starts looking for food by around 5. When I say looking for food I mean standing at the pantry door and whinging or pulling at the fridge door. Very annoying!
I would have chosen different paint too for that price! It's amazing what they think they can charge for a colour. Craziness.
Oh well - I had better get going, have to leave by 8:30 and DH has to go to the shops before then.
Hi guys.
well I have set up the laptop with wireless modem so I can still get on here regardless of the fact our study is stuffed away. I really missed you guys. I had been reading while I was at work but felt too guilty to be posting. :p Maddi is slowly slowly getting better. Her conjunctivitis has gone (thank the lord helliluliah) but her ears and chest are probably going to take a while. Yesterday she started with a really bad nappy rash. Like to the point of bleeding. It happened really fast, within 3 hours. I think the antibiotics she is on are so strong that they make her poo runny and potent. And the poo just eats at her skin. How terrible is that. Last night she couldn't even sit in the bath it hurt so much and each time she went to wee she would just scream. Two of us had to hold her down while we applied cream. I got hold of some mycostatin (antifungal cream) and some benpanthen and just coated her in it. Then put her to bed thinking she would wake during the night when she weed. But she slept the whole night through. Her rash doesn't look so bad this morning but I still need to take her to the Dr to find out if she should continue taking the antibiotics. DH and I have also come down with the bug. I feel like its tonsillitis. The exciting news is that my Mum is back for 3 weeks!!:smiliedance: Maddi just went straight to her and hugged her for about 10 minutes. It was so great to see that Maddi remembered her because its been 6 months! So I'm taking off 2 weeks work to spend with Mum and Maddi. Mum brought back so much stuff for Maddi. Sneakers that sing when you walk on them, sneakers that flash, DVD's, a little backpack that Maddi will not take off, clothes, clothes and more clothes, toys and hairclips. OMG the list goes on and on. Maddi was beside herself.
Maddi was looking at the computer Hayley and she pointed to Coopers picture and said "Whos Dat?" and I said "Cooper" and Maddi said "Ooper". There could be romance in the air!
Anyways I'm going to be really selfish and get back to reorganising the house and trying to get a doctors appointment. The flooring is coming along really well. They have laid the main living area and corridor. THey are coming back this weekend to do our main bedroom, walk in robe, gym, kitchen and study area. Then they will come back another weekend to do the other bedrooms and wet areas. Then its all done and I will be able to relax.
I promise I will come back soon and make some more personal posts.
Missed you guys!:hugs:

Hey Lou - good to have you back..we have missed you here too! :hugs: So happy for you that your mum is back for a little while and its so cute that Maddi cuddled her!! Them sneakers sound so cool by the way!! Oh and I cant believe that Maddi said Ooper - how cute is that. As for romance in the air - id be he happy if he choose Maddi :) lol.
Anyway gotta go. This little boy is cranky one minute and then happy the next....im taking the moment while post on here and get a shopping list together. Ive decided to stay at home today and not go to mum.
Talk soon - Welcome back again Lou.
Oh LOU! Miss you guys so much!
So wonderful to hear that Maddi's eyes have cleared up - the nappy rash on the other hand could be a combination of both the anti-biotics and teething - Immy has had really sloppy nappys lately and I must say I've never seen whole sultanas come out of THAT end before  :D
Good to hear your flooring is coming along - SO can't wait to see the results! Get that web cam ready girl!
How absolutely WONDERFUL that your mum is back! OMG you guys are going to have a ball! 2 weeks off as well? Heaven! Here's hoping that you don't get ill so you can enjoy some time together. Good luck getting that appointment today.
Ange - LMAO I'm with Tan - I think you just haven't gone to bed yet! How's Seth going? And how's Skinny settling into the family?
Tan - how I ENVY you right now! I haven't had a massage since well before I was pregnant and it's what my body is craving right now, but I also looked long and hard in the mirror this morning and BOY a good facial wouldn't go astray either! You know when your hair gets to a stage that your products start to not work? Well that's where mine's at right now - I can't do ANYTHING with it and it looks hideous but I just can't afford $140 to go get the cut/colour I so love at my favourite place! I was thinking of grabbing a hair colour this weekend and chucking it through and getting a trim and tidy up down at the local centre - they're not too bad and charge FAR less.
Anyway, better head off - mums group this morning and no-one's dressed yet. Immy has just discovered that underneath the computer chair is a lovely silver pole that is covered in grease and although I'm sitting RIGHT HERE, I didn't even notice that she's been running her finger in it then all over her face and *shock* my CARPET! OMG I just freaked at the black streaks she left. AMAZINGLY I got a baby wipe and started gently rubbing at it and it looks like it's come of thank goodness! It came off her face too easily but she didn't like me doing it! Looks like it's back to closing the play pen that surrounds the computer desk (as it's in the lounge room). Ah don't we all love sticky little fingers. . .

Hi!!! Welcome back Lou!! We missed you heaps!!
Sorry to hear about Maddi's nappy rash (I'm sure all the pressies from grandma will make up for it though!) Owen got some really bad nappy rash about a week or so ago that flared up really quickly too. We'd been using Curash for Claire, but I whipped out the sample tube I got of Bepanthen and have been using that on him & I swear by it now!! It's brilliant stuff!!
Ange - I too was thinking you probably just hadn't gone to bed!! lol
Hayles, glad Roxy is feeling better. Mum & dad got their rotty pup yesterday & he is sooooo cute!!! They got him from a breeder & apparently while she won't tell you what to name them, she likes to have a say in it! () so mum & dad went for Vikenya which apparently has some significance or other. I've no idea. Sounds a bit girly to me for a big butch male dog, but *shrug* what do I know?!
Claire is over at mum & dad's today as Dave has gone down to Bris to take Kymmy to the vet for some pre-insemination tests. Apparently Claire & Vikenya fell in love with each other at first site! So she'll be having a ball over there today. I'm guessing she won't want to come home when we go to pick her up!
Dave has issued me with strict instructions to get some sleep while he's gone, so I'd better not stay on here too long! Owen had a shocker last night & was awake pretty much all night with terrible wind. Poor little guy! He has such huge trouble getting rid of his wind. Does anyone have any suggestions, other than drops from the chemist? I've tried every massage/movement/burping/positioning technique I've ever heard & nothing seems to be working. The only thing I haven't so far tried is heavily diluted peppermint tea. One of the cleaning ladies at the hospital told me it was the only thing that worked for her granddaughter. Apparently you give them a few drops with an eyedropper & it brings the wind straight up. Has anyone tried this one??

Hey Fi - I can just imagine how cute Vikenya is! They are the cutest pups....naughty but cute! but hey your mum and dad might be lucky! :fingerscrossed: They are great dogs...very loyal and loving...and very protective. So off you go and get some sleep Fi! :p Poor little owen...im sorry i dont have any ideas for you regarding wind...Cooper always had no problems there. I hope you work it out soon...
Anyway the little man is calling so i better go see what he wants...

Actually Hayles, they shouldn't have any problems with him behaviour wise. Apparently mum & dad had to sign a contract before they bought him agreeing to do all these things regarding his care and one of them was that they had to have him professionally trained. They are starting by taking him to the local puppy pre-school.

 No guys, I was actually in bed and asleep by midnight last night and then up at some god awful hour cos Seth decided to get up then. I just couldn't let the opportunity slip by to gloat about being up before everyone :o
Um, Seth's going well. We had him to the dr last night because he's just had almost a week of really watery mucousy nappies and he's been a bit off his food but he's still been his usual happy self. The dr said to give him some low lactose formula for a bit and see if that clears him up and this morning his nappy was still really soft but what could tentatively be called a formed motion. So :fingerscrossed: this formula will fix him up and then we'll try him on normal milk again.
And as for Skinny, well she should be called Fat Cat. I think she needs worming cos all she does is EAT!!! Oh and torment Merlin of course. My poor boy, he's too gentle for his own good. He just hisses and spits at her but she ignores him and still pounces on his tail and stuff. If he'd just stand up and whack her, she might take notice LOL. She had her first accident this morning. SHe's been excellent so far and the only reason we had the accident in the first place was cos the laundry door was closed so she couldn't get to her litter and I didn't get there fast enough to either open the door or put her outside.
Good to hear from you Lou. That's great that your mum is visiting!!! I'm going to see my mum and dad tomorrow.
Hayles, did you go see your mummy?
Hope everyone's well. I'm off to do up my shopping list - my FAVOURITE part of the fortnight :smiliedance:

Fi - well thats good about the professional training etc - i didnt mean all rottys were naughty...just mine!! (who failed professional training ROFL!!!) Nah They learn pretty easily ive said before Roxy is great on a lead...and she would have been good all round only I didnt have the time to train her at the time and take her to puppy preschools etc because I had a new born...Learning now from my experience (and paying $600) i think that you really need to train them yourself (with the professional help) which is what i wish i had done in the first place with Roxy - but neither Trent or I had the time (:banghead: I still thank my MIL for getting me a brand new puppy the day after our old rotty died and i had a 6 week old  - ah well its all turned out alright - wouldnt give her away now thats for sure! Although at times i do think i could! HAHA)
Puppy preschools are great fun. I took Axel to one when he was little....
Anyway Coopers just gone to bed and i have a load of stuff i want to get done before he wakes up so i better choof off.
Ange - nope didnt go down to my mums think i might go down on sunday or monday. I did my shopping list today and have been shopping already - We are off to see how Trents going out at our house when the little guy wakes up and then hopefully Trent and I are going out for dinner/drinks and the raffles at the pub while Cooper spends some quality time with grandma (MIL) YAY!
MrsMiggins
30-03-2007, 11:09
Yeah, I really should be getting off here too!!! :o
Dinner & drinks & raffles down at the pub sounds like fun! We gave up going to the meat tray raffles here (we used to go every Fri nite in Sydney) because after several months of going every week & not winning a single bloody thing, we decided to cut our losses!!
I knew what you meant Hayles, although the breeder did warn mum & dad that rotties are one of the naughtier breeds!
Ange - :fingerscrossed: that Seth gets back to normal quickly!!
hayleylea
30-03-2007, 11:37
Fi - We use to go to the raffles every friday night before Cooper was born...we use to win almost every week! its 20 tickets for $10 so its not bad value. The last time we went we didnt win though! Dont know for sure if we are going yet or not but I hope i win if i do!! (its a mixed raffles with meat trays and then things that range from alcohol, hammocks, kitchen stuff, candles, dinner sets, sunglasses etc etc)
Anyway better get back to it...i was going through a couple of food magazines my MIL gave me and it had a good lunch recipie for Cooper (and me for that matter) Vegie meatball sandwhiches. So im making up a few of the meat balls to freeze so they are quick and easy lunches....they smelly yummy too.
Hi everyone,
Fi have you tried floating Owen upright in a bucket of warm water to fix the wind? Sounds bizarre and I haven't actually done it myself but have heard about it a couple of times and am keeping it in my mind in case we have to try it. Apparently being in the upright position makes them bring their legs up and moves the wind and the warm water helps. Might be a bit tricky but you have to somehow hold them under the arms and get them into the bucket. Hope you have managed to have some sleep today. I'm sure Claire is having a ball.
Hayley that is so typical that you have won the raffle several times - I swear you have such a lucky streak. Loved the movie of Cooper (meant to say a while ago I loved the snoring one too -such a cute, peaceful man).
Ange I'm so impressed that you were up so early. We have managed to get Paddy back to his 8am wake ups after a few early mornings dealing with daylight savings - yay!! He even made it to 8:30 yesterday -love it!!
Lou good to hear from you!! Sounds like you have been having a rough trot but how unreal that your Mum is here. That will be so nice for you all. Hope you all get healthy soon and enjoy the time.
Tan hope you are having a lovely time getting pampered.
Anna those muffins sounds good -will be giving them a try. You got me craving lamb shanks after your discussion the other day so I bought some this morning and will be cooking them tomorrow. I have a great recipe which is pretty much what you did -they are beautiful. Hope the boy is behaving.
I had my 24 week check up today and was discussing when I would be having the caesarean. My Ob. said that if my placenta was still low at the scan at 32 weeks then this baby would be coming out at 37 weeks!! That is only 13 weeks away - way too soon for my liking!! He said that I would be like a ticking timebomb and a major haemorrhage would be possible so he likes to be safe and have everyone alive and well which is fine with me I guess -no point taking chances. Hopefully this stupid placenta will move up (the majority do). I discussed the cool date of 7/7/07 (your date Anna) and it is a possibility that it could happen but we will have to wait and see. He told me his birthday was 9/9 and I told him I was 10/10 but he said with a smirk on his face that obviously a "cool date" is not the priority. Otherwise all is good and I got to hear the little man's heartbeat - love that bit.
Anyway better get some stuff done. Chat soon.

Cath good to hear from you - i loved hearing the heart beat too - its so amazing....7/7 would be a cool date!...you might just get it - glad to hear everything is going well with your little man. Not long now and you will be announcing that your little one is born! Is it just me or does it seem to be going really quick for you guys?! it seems like it was last week you said you were pregnant! Glad you liked Coopers video. There is 3 on there now. I decided to make the video site seperate to his photo one because the videos can slow it down. I put another on up last night of him and his favourite word at the moment "gone" lol. I sound like such a drongo in them though :o I hate hearing myself on video etc... Cooper has been getting up early - I am hoping he goes back to his 8.00 get up time...or even 7.30 would be OK.
Glad to hear paddy is sleeping well for you again.
Anyway i better go do the washing up before mr wakes up...
Gee - I disappear for a few hours and you guys chat up a storm.
Fi - poor little Owen and his wind. I don't have any great suggestions for you but for a little while Gripe water was a pretty good friend of ours. We also found that just changing positions would often help dislodge the wind. I don't think Will had much trouble with that though.
Lou - :yelclap: your Mum's back for a few weeks. That's great that Maddi remembered her. I bet your Mum is so impressed with all that Maddi is up to. So sorry to hear she is having such a rough time. That nappy rash sounds so nasty! Hopefully she is on the mend though and that you guys stay well.
Cath - gotta love that heartbeat hey! I hope your placenta moves up for you but even if it doesn't, Willw as born at 38 weeks and whilst they are not as chubby as a 40 weeker they are developmentally finished, so everyone will be healthy. It's just the short time factor you have to deal with.
Hayley - I have watched all 3 of your videos and just love them. LOL at the drongo comment though. I don't think anyone sounds great on home video though - I think sound technicians have a lot of work to do still.
I too would like Will to go back to sleeping in! I can't complain too much though, it has been between 6:30 and 7 and it has been pretty bright the past few mornings. It has also meant he has had really good day sleeps which I certainly appreciate.
Ange - maybe Seth is a little sensitive to the change in seasons? Hope his nappies get back to normal soon.
Well - my pamper was just great. My skin feels so good now. I might have to work a little bit more so I can have a facial once a month or something. It was that good. When it was finished the girl kept saying to me "oh you poor thing, you look so relaxed, you really don't want to get up again do you?" LOL - how true it was.
Well - I had better get going again. Hope you all have nice weekends. Anna - why is it that little people love to play with the dirtiest thing they can find?
Fi my kids have never had major wind problems but things that I have tried are mainly positioning - stretching baby out over a pillow on your lap with the head end elevated (ie foot on a stool or something). The straighter he is, the easier it is for the wind to pass, some gentle taps could help too. I really like Cath's suggestion too - if you think about how your chest feels when you go swimming, it's sort of compressed a little which would make it easier to bring up wind so the baby-in-a-bucket might work well too! Otherwise, do you have one of those bath things that you rest a newborn on? You know a terry towelling thing on a frame? Maybe try him on that on this tummy in a bath of warm water? Let us know how you go.
Tan glad to hear you had a wonderful morning! Ahhh isn't it nice when you get lovely people like that! I had a massage after I had Nicola and I fell alseep and woke 15 mins later! The lady just let me sleep while she tidied up - she wasn't in a rush!
How does your hair look? Can you post a photo for us! I'd love to see it!
Cath - by the sounds of it you might beat me to meeting your baby! I'll be so sad if that happens but at the same time, it's important to do what the Dr thinks is best. LMAO about the "date debate" though! I can just imagine what the Dr would be thinking! If I can't have my baby on the 7/7/07 then I think I'd prefer him to arrive at least a week early because I'm so used to saying it that I'll need something completely different from "something" 07/07!
Mums group was really good today, we all got a lot of stuff off our chest but something has left me really upset. Remember my "good" friend who's getting married on my due date? I spoke to her before she left and jokingly said, "we'll have to talk about your date!" She just shrugged at me and said, "well it's not like I'm going to change it all because of a baby!" I was just crushed and I had to bite my lip. Is it just me? Am I being too sensitive and unreasonable or is this a really selfish attitude? She even said, well you might go over due or have him early! (Meaning I could still come to the wedding etc) I though well if he does come early, I'm still going to be fresh out of hospital and not wanting to attend a reception with a newborn! I'm just so upset with her and I don't know if my feelings are justified. She's quite a self centred person, and she hasn't even officially told her cousins that she's getting married - I spoke to them the other day and they're both agreed that she's just going to push so many of her friends away that soon she'll have no-one left. But the thing is, that now she's "in" with her fiance's group that she doesn't care. She's always lived like a single woman since she had her baby and split from her ex-husband, and she's never around for him. He's basically taken care of by his grandparents who they live with. Oh gosh, sorry, I never realised how much this has been bothering me until I just blabbed all that out. I guess I just need to know if my feelings are justified, or if I'm being stupid and hormonal. Sorry to end on a pity note. . .:crying:

 Im such a dag arent I!? I should learn to stay away from bubhub when Ive had a few to drink! Ah well! No harm done!! I went to bed shortly after that post and feel fine this morning only I was woken by a stupid dog down the road who was barking since 5am!!! :banghead: So far I have escaped Harry hangover so im Happy about that! :D I didnt really have a great deal to drink - i was a bit of two can sam last night - had fun and thats the main thing.
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
LOL Hayles. You crack me up.
My early bird was at it again this morning. Squealing and jumping around in his cot until I went to get him just after 6:30. It must be all this light. If it was 6:30 before the time change it was pretty dark and I could say lie down and go back to sleep but that is just pointless now! Oh well - he's good really - that's just me being a sook, missing the days where I didn't have to get him til 8.
Has anyone else's kid started the whole whinging thing? I think I mentioned before that Will doesn't really throw tantrums but lately he has started this really annoying whinging. It gets on both our nerves and I can tell you that not much bothers DH usually so it's pretty annoying. I have to admit I am hoping it is related to teething and not some extended developmental stage.
Will's words are coming thick and fast now. Still a lot of one offs but there are new ones everyday. Yesterday it was "frog". He's getting into the animal noises too. So funny!
I think I had better go and get myself some breakfast. I decided that Will could have eggs with Troy as a treat. He loves eggs!

Tan......Cooper was up just before 7 too....I miss the days of the 8Oclock wakes up too. This morning wasnt helped by the stupid dog down the road though...and it was also REALLY cold here this morning. As for the whinging thing...Cooper does it too, i ignore it most of the time and he stops....he chucks tantrums every now and again..
YAY for Will's new words too! Cooper has stopped in that department...only really says his usual words and a few one offs here and there...He is a real little helper now. If i tell him to put stuff in the bin off he goes and he just loves to help with whatever im doing. He saw me scrubbing the shower the other day and yesterday i couldnt find him and he was sitting in the shower scrubbing it with a cloth! ROFL! it was so cute.
Anyway better go see if i can get this boy to eat. He hasnt been eating his breakkie the past few days...

Hey guys....My little boy and I spent the morning out in the yard running around and we come in side and he grabbed Ted and waved goodbye and was trying to get into his cot! (at 11 oclock!!! ) I figured he must have been tired so I put him in there and went to check on him 5 minutes later and he was sound asleep!!*this is how i found him..So peacefull* (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/cute.jpg) It has actually worked out pretty good because Trents at work till 12 and then we are going back out to do another coat of paint on Coopers room..so this way atleast he has had his sleep.
I uploaded another 2 videos onto Coopers Video site too if you want to take a look...CLICK! (http://www.dropshots.com/hayleylea)

Cath, I cannot believe what your Dr said to you about the whole "ticking time bomb" thing!!!! That is just so over the top it is unbelievable!!!! I had actual placenta praevia with Claire (not just low-lying placenta, and bear in mind they cannot diagnose placenta praevia until after 32-34 weeks in any case) and I never had any bleeding at all. She was delivered at 39 weeks +1 day and everything was fine. I cannot believe your Dr was trying to scare you like that. How unprofessional! Sorry, but I'm shocked! Yes, placenta praevia can be serious, however the vast majority of cases are not, and in any case, you have only had a low-lying placenta detected at this stage anyway and again in the vast majority of cases (as you said) these resolve by 32 weeks. So please don't stress out. And if you feel the c/s is being booked in too early at 37 weeks, tell them so. I was still having scans at 37 weeks to sus out the situation, so to me 37 weeks sounds early as well. Particularly if they still haven't confirmed anything! I thought they only booked them that early if there was a strong indication to do so (ie: confirmed high grade placenta praevia or episodes of bleeding).
Sorry, I didn't mean to go on & on, I just have a bit of a bee in my bonnet about it! :)
Hayles, lol at your grog win at the raffles!! :D Glad you enjoyed it! OMG Hayles!!! How quickly has April come around??! Best of luck to you guys!! Hope you get it in one shot!
Tan, Claire does whinge an awful lot - especially now that Owen is here. It is incredibly irritating!! She still has tantrums too (and screaming fits - ahh the joys of raising a spirited girl!!!!) but the whingeing is fairly prolific! Especially when she's tired.
That's great about Will's new words!! It's a very exciting age, I think (despite all the other not so charming behavioural things that tend to crop up at this time!!) I noticed while I was in hospital that every day I saw Claire she seemed to have added another word or four to her vocab. And I was only in there a week! It's funny, she started making mum-mum-mum-mum & dad-dad-dad-dad sounds very early, but then they completely disappeared. She was the only kid I knew of around her age who never said mum & dad! But over the past week or so, her favourite new word seems to be mum!! (I love it, of course!!)
Anna, I do have one of those terry bath support things, maybe I'll give it a go.
Sorry I can't really help you about your situation with your friend. I'm notoriously dense about matters like that! Sounds as though she's being a bit of a selfish so & so about it all though. I mean if there were a reason she had to have that particular date & she explained that to you and whatever maybe that would be one thing, but to be a complete cow about it whenever it's brought up, well that's another thing entirely!

yep April has come around quickly..we will see how we go....im not in a huge rush but it would be nice for it to happen sooner rather then later...
Cooper just got up so going to bed at 11 wasnt such a bad thing after all! lol...
Actually i better go he hasnt had anything to eat yet. Talk soon
Hi again,
Fi I'm not stressing about the placenta thing at this point - I really think it will become a non-issue when they check at 32 weeks. Thanks for your story though -good to hear all was well until 39 weeks. I told my Mum (who is a previous midwife and nurse) that he had said he would be delivering the baby at 37 weeks if I had placenta praevia and she said "I'm relieved to hear that" so I thought it must be the right thing to do. I am still okay with him doing that if it is going to ensure we are all safe. We will see how we go but I'm pretty sure this baby will be staying in until 38-39 weeks. I have started to realise how quickly time is going though and am thinking about starting to sort of Paddy's cupboard and organise all the clothes - there is no room in any of the drawers for baby 2 at the moment -might have to go and get some more storage containers today and get some stuff out of there. Hope Owen is going okay with his wind and you are doing well.
Anna is there a reason your friend really wants to get married on your due date? If she is a close friend surely she can be a bit flexible. One of my close friends is getting married and she definitely was not going to be getting marreid at a time when someone was having a baby. Hope you are feeling okay about it all - I hate annoying things like that playing on your mind.
Hayley how exciting it is April!! Best of luck with TTC. Cooper is being an absolute legend with his sleep isn't he -good boy. Hope the renovations are all going well.
Tan Paddy isn't whinging too much but he is certainly throwing tantrums which I actually find hilarious. I have to try and not let him see me laughing when he does it. He has taken to arching his back if I am trying to put him in the pram and he doesn't want to go in -not helpful!!
Anyway better get to cooking these shanks - I was really tired yesterday and we had a few people drop in so never got around to it- hope they are still okay to cook. Hope everyone has a good day and chat soon.

Cath, sorry if I sounded a little beligerent in my last post. :o It just sounded as though your OB was like "We're going to deliver at 37 weeks as it's a life & death situation" and you sounded uneasy about it being so early. Of course, if it ends up being necessary then it is definitely the way to go, but if you would rather stick it out if it does end up being PP, then you should definitely discuss it with them. (I'll shut up about it now! :o :))
Dontcha just love the back arching thing?! Claire went through a stage where she did that gettign into her car seat. It's not like she didn't want to get in, it was just that she delighted in annoying us, I think! She thought it was funny.
We went to the beach this morning, which was really nice - all 4 of us. The only problem was that it was soooooo incredibly windy!! We only ended up staying for about an hour, but Claire had a ball & Owen slept the whole time!
Gotta go - Owen's awake!
Afternoon everyone.
I don't really have a lot to report, just saying hello I guess. We went to a baptism today and only just got home. It was a really nice day and all the kids played together which was great.
I feel a bit bad about writing about Will whinging now, I actually think there may have been something not quite right with him yesterday as he woke up last night crying again. He eventually settled back to sleep after about an hour and he has been pretty good today. When I said Will doesn't really throw tantrums I forgot about this stupid hyperventilating thing he does instead. Like he is starting to throw a tantrum but gets distracted after a few hyper breaths.
I actually spoke to a girl today who made me feel a lot better about Will's wakeups recently. She has a son about a year older than Will and they seem quite similar in personality. Anyway she just said that even though her son was (and is a great sleeper), they all go through phases and you just have to be persistent. I think I mentioned once or twicee before that I was always niave about babies before I had my own, for some reason I thought that once they slept through undisturbed then they would always do it! How funny is that? I obviously didn't think about myself when I walked around thinking that. I don't know whether what I do counts as being persistent as he has been lying in bed with us until he settles down enough for us to put him back to bed, but he's not playing and we generally try not to talk to him. But - my chat with her did make me realise that Will is quite normal and all kids do it! That's what I like to hear.
Anna - I'm not sure what to say about your friend's wedding. I guess I would probably look at why she wants to get married then and take it from there. Over the years a lot of our friends (close ones as well) and family have gotten married at very inconvenient times and places and whilst it has been somewhat annoying at times we have just accepted it and done our best to attend or make the most of a happy event. Troy was Best Man at a wedding on my birthday once so I pretty much didn't see him at all that day and he slept over with the guys the night before, and the following year on the same weekend I was a bridesmaid at another wedding. I guess I know that weddings are tricky things to arrange and working around everybody can be very hard. In your situation I know it is probably harder to accept when you have your own doubts about whether she should be getting married in the first place!
Gosh - I had better get going, this was meant to be a quick post before I tidy up some work issues before my break!

Hey guys...
Just a quick one from me..i have a rather cranky boy on my hands today. Im not sure whats wrong with him...he did seem to be running a temp this morning though so not sure whats going on. He is still on his antibiotics if he is still like this in the morning i might take him back to the docs. He woke up at 2am screaming and a really sad cry but when i went in there he seemed asleep..i picked him up and gave him a quick cuddle and he went straight back to sleep but he woke again at 6am screaming and from there on has been pretty miserable all day. He has been pooing alot the last 2 days but they havent been runny or anything - and i figure the antibiotics are making him poo more - His bum is also a bit red but nothing major so im applying lots of nappy cream to see if that helps. He hasnt had much sleep today (our fault - lots of broken car trips) So that could be adding to his crankiness too...(as im typing this he has decided to run around laughing his head off... - mood swings! i thought i would the only one! )
Anna i didnt reply to you about the whole friends wedding thing. It sounds as though she pretty much has made up her mind. Does that date mean something to them? i do think her comment about she isnt not going to get married because of a baby was pretty harsh - she should have left that unsaid. Id just leave it as much as it hurts you- you obviously cant change her mind and she will just have to accept that when the time does come - if you havent had the baby or if you have had the little guy - that you probably wont feel like attending.
Fi - Hows Owens wind going? have you found a way to help him yet? The beach sounds good! Its been so cold here of a morning..not so bad during the day but not the hotest either! I even had the heater on this morning!
Cath - Yum lamb shanks! Cooper would be in heaven if he was at your house tonight they are his favourites!
Tan - Sorry to hear Will has been waking again. And just like your friend said - He is definatley normal! all kids do it at some stage!
Anyway I better get going this was meant to be a short post! rofl.

Hey guys..i forgot to mention Coopers not so cute habit!! He has taken to laughing everytime he "fluffs" - anyway he has now taken to actually trying to push them out infront of Trent and I   (when i say trying i should actually mention he succeeds!) He thinks its hillarious. I laughed the first few times but now i try not to encourage him! Such a boy!!!! lol.:o
Well it is still a house full of sickies here in Bendigo. My damn sore throat is now a full blown cold and Maddi is still not better. She actually threw up tonight because she copped a mouth full of phlegm (sorry if thats TMI). DH is really irritating me playing the OMG I'm sick and dying card. I'm like "hello!" I'm not having the best time either. No sympathy here as I am having to look after Maddi as well as myself without having to deal with that.
My poor Mum has just lucked out on us being this ill and our house upside down with all the flooring.
Fi, Maddi had heaps of trouble with wind as a baby and we used infacol on her. Their these drops that you get from Safeway and you just pop a couple of drops in Owens mouth directly before a feed. Maddi would do these massive burps. I had a few people tell me that it wasn't important not to burp them after feeding. But I found with Maddi if we didn't she would wake about 20 minutes after her feed crying with pain. So it was always worth staying up that little bit longer to burp her. It was interesting to read that you haven't found a difference in sleeping with BF or bottle feeding. I remember thinking when I was BF Maddi that it would be a bonus if she slept longer. My god reading about Owen sleeping so long made me think about how the first time Maddi slept through my boobs were like rocks and spurting milk. I looked like a barbie doll with huge melons.
Hayley, could be the antibiotics playing larry do with Coopers poo. Thats what happened with Maddi and her nappy rash got so bad, and is still recovering. THe chemist told us to put on an antifungal cream + Benpanthen + sudocream. And to avoid soaps in her bath while she has nappy rash. And to also avoid baby wipes, we are now using cotton wool with warm water. Man this bout of illness is really the pits.
Tan, Maddi is waking at 6am these days and its killing me. Especially as I'm unwell at the moment. I've tried ignoring her but becuase she's unwell too I can't leave her to get too distressed. I hope this earlybird phase nicks off soon.
Cath how did your shanks turn out? Sounds yummy. Paddy sound like he's hitting the terrible two stage early just like Maddi. She has become quite the actress. I tried the walking off thing today but she just waved at me and said bye. Damn it! It sounds like second pregnancies go so fast. I remember feeling like it was eternity with Maddi. I'll have my fingers crossed for you Cath that the PP resolves itself by week 37.
Ange, great to hear that your dress is as good as it looked on the ebay site. Remember to get some photo's taken for us ok. I did laugh a lot at you with your night out.
Anna, how is bubba blue? IS he behaving himself and sitting pretty? As for your friend she is obviously becoming bridezillla. Happens to the best of us. I'd go with the theory that she has no idea about babies or having kids. I'd sit down with just her over a coffee and explain to her that while you love her to bits you won't be able to make the wedding. Sad but true and if she's a true friend she'll get over it. And if she isn't she'll cry and rant and rave and walk out the door without the bestest friend a girl can have. She might have booked her venue's and made her invites ect already so can't change the date? I dunno - I'm just trying to think of all her excuses. :hugs: to make you feel loved.
Has anyone spoken to Nat lately? How is her morning sickness progressing? Poor thing.
I nearly forgot to say to Hayley good luck with the Valentine Here's hopeing a baby is made this April.

Lou - good to hear from you but sorry you guys are all sick (as for your DH men always are worse when they are sick...trent drives me crazy when he has a cold or something like that!!) Get well wishes heading your way though I hope you get over it soon!
Anyway im off to retire to the couch and watch CSI, and finish this beer :D
ETA: i almost forgot! I WON THE PHOTO COMP!! FINALLY!!!!! YAY ME! Thanks for voting guys!
I think everyone has Mondayitis or something! It's very quiet in here this morning!
Well we all had a good sleep last night and I woke up to the sound of Will singing in his room at about 7 this morning. YAY! He did have a dose of nurofen before bed last night but if that meant a good sleep then that's ok with me. I actually think it is teeth with a bit of an upset tummy as he has foul nappies today! They smell sooo bad!
Teddy has gone in the washing machine this morning in preparation for the plane ride on Wednesday. There was no way Troy and I were sitting in close proximity to that thing for an extended period of time. I think I may have mentioned before that Will chews his tail - oh it is so disgusting. Troy said to me the other day "That thing needs to go in the washing machine on a very, verey long cycle!" Well - it wasn't a long cycle, but it did go in the wash!
I read this excellent article this morning on the net that is put out by the NSW government on toddlers. I was looking at sleep info but this had stuff about sleep, tantrums, eating, dreams etc and it was all useful practical stuff. http://www.community.nsw.gov.au/
documents/par0-5yrs.pdf (http://www.community.nsw.gov.au/documents/par0-5yrs.pdf)
It's worth a read! I found it really useful.
Lou - so sorry to hear you are all not well. Men are so self-pitying when they are sick aren't they? I hope you all improve soon so that you can enjoy your Mum's visit. What a bummer it had to be right now!
Oh dear - I had better go, someone is demanding my attention!

Hey guys
Very quiet in here indeed! We have been busy out in the yard today and we had to go to council to work out some stuff with our house etc. I had to get photos developed and Trent and Cooper went off to have a look around Kmart while i was doing that. Anyway I look up and here comes Trent with this humungous box and I was like OH no we are not getting Cooper ANYTHING else..he has enough. He said yes we are and I was like how much is it - didnt even look what it was because it was a big box so i immediatley said No. He said $5  (another clearance item) Well i had to look at what it was and it was one of them big pop up tents with a tunnel!!! (star wars one to be exact) I was like surely thats not the right price but i scanned it and it was the right place! Ive been looking for a tunnel for Coopers huggies play car for ages but havent come across one cheap enough so this was just a bargain. i got the tunnel and another tent...Cooper loves playing in his huggies play tent and now this one joins to it by the tunnel so its extra large. Spoilt i know! But for these prices how can you leave it!!! -Trent is as bad as me if you havent worked out. We are actually going to take it out to our house out of town so he has something to keep him occupied out there so it worked out pretty cool.
Tan that article is really good! Thanks for posting it!
Anyway i better get going..Will talk soon..
Hope all is well with everyone.
Lou are you all feeling better yet? Cath - hows Paddy going with his sleeps now? Still going to sleep by himself? Anna - youve been quiet - everything OK?
Hello there,
Congratulations on winning the photo competition Hayley - that window photo really deserved it -it looked very professional. The bargain hunter strikes again -that's great that it runs in the family -Dean never looks for bargains (I look but don't find them too often). Funny you should ask about Paddy's sleeping - I was going to report that we have a new success. We have now got him going to sleep on his own for his day sleeps (I think) -woohoo!! He has been fantastic at night since we started the whole thing a month ago or so - now and then he chats for a bit or has a little half hearted sook but mostly he is just quiet and goes to sleep - we just love it. Over the last couple of weeks he has started to take about half an hour to stop wriggling and talking while we hold him in the chair for his day sleeps. Dean came out of his room after 2 minutes yesterday and then I heard this little yell -he had just put him in the cot and closed the door. We said we would give it an hour and see what happened. There was talking and the occasinal yell for 55 minutes and then finally there was silence and I looked in after a bit and he was asleep. I had a quick cuddle with him in the chair today and then put him in and there was only 20 minutes of carry on and then silence and he has now been asleep for almost 2.5 hours - love it!! No turning back now - hopefully tomorrow will be only 10 minutes and he doesn't even cry - just talks and yells. By the time baby 2 comes along it should be so much easier being able to just put him in the cot so we are very happy with the little man.
Tan good luck with the packing and the plane trip on Wedensday - how long is the plane trip? Thanks for the article -I'll have a read in a bit.
Lou how annoying that you are all sick while your Mum is here. Hope you all get better soon.
Fi the beach trip sounded great -what's the weather like there at the moment? It is suddenly gone quite wintery here in Melbourne - we've had the ducted heating on a bit.
Anyway I'm off -surely this boy will wake up in a minute. Chat soon.

Cath thats GREAT about Paddys new sleeping habits! its so much easier when they go to sleep by themselves - so much more time!! WHOO HOO! Just in time for the arrival of the new bub too! As for bargains.
Its a beautiful day today here but Cooper and I attempted to play outside this afternoon and there are bees everywhere!!! So we decided to come back inside..mind you he would much rather be outside!!
Anyway im off to find something to keep him occupied..might get out some pencils and some paper and glue and let him create a master peice lol.
Talk soon guys
Hi girls,
I'm still around, just been awfully tired and busy.
Trying to keep up with you all here - sometimes I just need a break and when I come back you've all chatted up a storm - Hayles you're the Miss Chatterbox of the group! Ah you're all going to know about it when you all have your 2nd bub! :devil6: LOL!
Hayles congrats on winning the photo comp! YAY! You deserved that one! Have you thought of a theme yet? When does the next one get listed? I don't even know where to look because I only ever follow your links to the vote! Poor Cooper and his bottom, I'd have suggested the same as Lou - antifungal clears any bacteria up, bepanten heals because of the lanolin and the sudocream is the barrier to keep it all protected from the nasties that live wee/poop. When it starts to clear - keep lathering on the bepanthen to heal any redness faster - it's one of the very few products I use now. Also paw-paw cream (the one in the red jar) is also good too.
Lou I can't believe your households run of luck with the sickness. With all the nice weather you guys have (I see it every morning on sunrise and Bendigo sort of sticks out!) maybe just the very few cooler days you've had has sparked this latest bout. Oh I'm with you on the dying husband act there - men are positively the WORST when it comes to illness, they're worst than the kids - at least they can still get up and have a play, men just mope and it drives me nuts too. Make sure that you let your mum help out where she offers, even though I know you don't want to burden her with caring for you all because it's what she's been doing, she's still your mum and if she's anything like you she'll want to make sure you're all ok. I do hope you all get well soon though so you can make the most of the time you have with her at the moment.
Cath - you're doing an amazing job with Paddy and being consistant with his sleep routine! Paddy is also a clever little boy and must be realising that you're not going to cave to any sort of whinge or grizzle! I think that by the time #2 arrives you'll have Paddy settled nicely and, apart from a couple of permissable interruptions, he'll have his sleep time routine solid. Sorry if I seemed to glaze over at all the Dr talk - it all made sense to me, but I guess I don't understand a lot about PP and the risks etc. I have a friend who had it and she fussed and stressed and made SUCH a big deal over it then MADE the Dr do a c-section 6 weeks early because she was just too worried and now the baby still isn't right a year later. She had been so paranoid at the time yet the Drs all said her scans were fine and she could have gone a few more weeks - she'd just been having spotting which apparently was normal (??) Fact is that between you and the Dr's you can both assess the risk as the weeks go on and I'm sure that whether the baby arrives 1, 3 or 5 weeks early that all will be well. Are you shocked at how fast your pregnancy is going? I'm into week 27 now and I'm starting to realise that I'm nearly on the home straight! Then I think CR@P! Cath is only a couple of weeks (or NOT!) behind me!! Still stuggling with names - how about you?
Tan - sounds like you all had a lot of fun at the baptism the other day - do you find that Will is playing a lot better with kids at this age? My dad came for dinner last night and his partner Jane commented on how much more Immy plays with the girls now - she's right in there with them doing what they do and copying them. The girls were saying "Grandpa - I love you THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISSSSS much!" And were stretching their arms behind their backs until their hands touched! 2 mins later Immy comes running through the room with her arms stretched back as far as they could go, little face sticking out grinning away and races straight towards dad and gave him a huge cuddle! Dad was so happy I think he even had a tear!
Ange - you power woman - you're going to look totally HOT when you wear that dress! You simply MUST take photos and don't you dare come back from the races without one! :D Who's looking after Seth while you go? How's things with Adam at the moment? (Well I sort of know from msn!) I REALLY TRUELY hope you have a marvellous time out because seriously hun, you absolutely deserve it - especially at the moment. Now you PROMISE me that you'll make an appointment for your waxing, hair and all those other things before you go to your event, because a girl's gotta look their best, especially when you've been putting in so much effort with the exercise.
OMG this was not supposed to be that long a post - I guess you girls can only IMAGINE what I'd be like in real life . . .
Fi - I'm with Lou, when my girls started sleeping for long stretches of time, my boobs turned to watermelons and I had to go take a hot shower to get rid of some milk - I was in agony! At least you know that you can express some and freeze for later - start doing that now while you have plenty and it'll come in really handy for later when your milk has settled down more and you're due for a sleep in! How's that hubby of yours? Hasn't slacked off now that things have started to settle? Boy he must work hard too though with all his jobs and bits and pieces, so I'm glad to hear you all had some fun family time at the beach, even if it was windy! Hey I don't know how far away it is from you, but while I was in QLD my friends took me to an AWESOME outdoor pool that was right by the beach and looked like a lagoon - you guys should check it out! It was lovely and sheltered but a stones throw from the beach and had all the facilities. If I remember what it's called I'll let you know.
Better go, Shane's home and I've got to start dinner.
I'll fill you all in on us a little later.

Anna - your calling me the chatter box after writing that huge post! lol....It helps that i have the lap top and i just click on refresh and if there is a post i quickly type away - i just cant help myself. Things may be different when I have another baby though - mighten have as much time on my hands lol. Helps that im a fast typer and i can get my posts out in a matter of minutes ROFL! As for the photo comp I decided to do the theme of Easter - because it was so close and all. I entered but it was really a dodgy photo - i didnt want to go all out on this one because i won the last one. Im enjoying seeing everyone elses pics though - there a few good ones! Its right at the end of the list on bubhub where you find it (near where they sell stuff) just under baby competitions. Oh Coopers bum has healed up now. I put sudocream on it aswell as paw paw cream and its all better apart from just a few little spots. Loved your little story about Immy with her hands stretched out - thats so cute!!! Cooper loves playing with kids - he rathers kids older then him rather then his own age though - probably because he has more to do with kids a bit older.
Anyway better go get dinner organised. Talk soon
Hey there everyone, just thought I'd send a quick message to let you know I'm still around! I just havent' had a lot fo time to come on bubhub recently. I have my 1st Uni assignment due on Friday & have been desperately trying to finish it. Plus footy season's now started, so that takes up a lot of my time too. Had a bloody awsome weekend. I'm a Port supporter living in the West, so it was great to see the Port win over here after not having a win here for a couple of years.....:smiliedance: drank quite a bit Saturday night in celebration & didn't feel 100% yesterday! But oh well....it was worth it!
Fi, I read you birth story & have seen the photos of Owen...he's a little cutie!
Hayley, congrats on winning the photo contest!
Anyway, I gotta go now.
Hopefully I'll post on here again soon.
Hayles . . . just call me Queen of Epic Posts!
Fi and I both hold that title proudly!
Renee great to hear from you, you busy thing!
I'm so jealous of your weekend! OH how I can't wait to have more than a wiff of a wine or a sip of beer! Not to mention actually being able to consume the spirits in my cupboard! Good luck for your assignment, please let us know how you go with it!
Well I won't fully update you all now, I'm buggered!
But I will tell you that I'm truely scared sh!tless because we've just decided to pack to car and go on our very first ever CAMPING TRIP this week! Shane has taken Wed/Thurs off and goes back to work on Tuesday, so we're looking to go up the sunny east coast and camp for a few nights. Dad & Jane will be camping about 1 hour away over the weekend and mum & John have just decided that if we can get them a cabin or a caravan that they'll come up for a few nights too! HOLY COW! Mum & dad (plus their partners) camping so close to each other and US! What have I done?!!
Anyway, just a funny story to give you all a laugh courtesy of my DH. Last night I had a hard time getting to sleep, felt like hours, but Shane was out like a light as soon his head hit the pillow. However, he got QUITE the shock this morning when he woke and felt somewhat "breezy" under the covers only to discover that his jocks had mysteriously left him and were up near his pillow!
WHAT THE?!!! DON'T LOOK AT ME! LMAO! He has NO idea how that happened and thought he might have been "taken advantage of" during the night! LOL! I was sorry to inform him but I hadn't the LEAST amount of energy for THOSE late night activities but now has me wondering what the hell he was dreaming about. . . !!!!!!

Hi Renee Great to hear from you again!! Good to hear you had a good night on saturday too!! Glad to hear your doing OK with Uni too (sounds like you are very busy)
    LMAO about Shane Anna! that is Hillarious!!!
Anyway im off, Trents nearly due to go to work (yep night shift) and then im off to bed.
Night all...
Good morning everyone!
Today I am packing for our trip away and already I am umming and aahing about clothing for Will. You can take so much more when you travel by car than by plane and at this time of year you can have all sorts of weather in one week! Oh well, 2 of everything should cover it! oh -and about 10 t-shirts!
Hope you have fun on your camping trip Anna. The girls will have a ball. I think I would like to go camping with Will when he is bigger but DH is only keen if "we go with people who know what they are doing"! LOL - it's not rocket science! Oh and I had quite the chuckle at Shane and his undies. Who knows what he was doing?
Hi Renee - nice to hear from you again! You sound very busy, I hope you get that assignment in on time. Doing Uni now sounds not unlike me working from home and I complain enough about that lately so I have a lot of sympathy for you at the moment.
I walked Will up to daycare this morning in the pram as DH had a course on today and couldn't drop him off for me. I rarely drop Will off at daycare so this was quite interesting for me. We go to the door and he hopped out of the pram and just walked off! Right up to one of the ladies who was getting some cars out and sat down to play. No "Bye Mummy" or anything! I signed him in and put his bag away etc and then I had to go and find him to say goodbye! Not that Will was very interested in me at all at that point. He is such a independent little boy.
I can see his other "missing" tooth coming up now - he's got the white line happening and his eye teeth are looking pretty lumpy too. He slept well last night though and right through til 7am so we were happy people around here this morning.
Cath - I had been wondering what was happening with Paddy's day sleeps. That's so good that he has started to put himself to sleep for those as well. Make the most of the next few months before bubba 2 makes his entrance! Give those arms a rest!
I'm starting to get a bit worried that Will is going to be a real handful on the plane tomorrow. I've got lots of things to keep him occupied but we'll be on the plane for part of the time he is usually asleep and I don't know if he'll cope very well with being kept awake. I doubt he will fall asleep but I will try because we all know that he has gone to sleep in very strange places before! Might have to take a pillow with me - he might lie down on that.
I don't know if I mentioned our dummy crisis? I posted another thread about it a few days ago. I cannot find Will's dummies in the shops anywhere! He has the Heinz baby basics ones and he only takes the cherry shaped ones. I haven't seen them anywhere and with his current habit of biting them the ones we have are not going to last long! Another bubhubber from QLD said she thought she could get me some but I haven't hear from her yet - she may have found the same problem where she lives. So I keep looking in the shops but no luck so far. If anyone sees any please let me know!
Oh well, gotta get going with this packing. I need to at least get Will's done before he comes home from daycare.
Oh and I had quite the chuckle at Shane and his undies. Who knows what he was doing?
My thoughts exactly! Although word of warning, if I don't return here after easter it means that Shane has found out that I posted that about him and has shot me! LOL!
Good luck you with your trip Tan, I'm sure Will will be charming the pants off the hostesses the whole way!
Cath I was wondering today how Dean's recovery is going? I really hope he's well and truely on the mend now.
Ok, back to the ironing - I have 5 baskets of stuff to do from when Shane was away and we're fast running out of undies! :fingerscrossed: that half of it can just be folded, but knowing my luck they've been sitting there too long and will need a press. . .

ETA: Tan about Will's dummys, I'll have a look next time I head to the shopping centre. Do you usually get them at the supermarket - if so which one? Otherwise, have you tried the Happy Baby brand of cherry shaped dummies? Another suggestion is to email or call Heinz and ask for a few samples in Wills size until you can wean him onto another brand?
Is THIS (http://www.forbaby.com.au/modules/basics/article.php?id=26) Will's dummy?
Maybe try THESE (http://www.happybaby.com.au/TopMenu/ProductRange/SmilieSoother/tabid/89/Default.aspx) and see how he goes? It's the band my kids have all used and the only one I can think of that has a cherry shape.
P.S. I don't think anyone else has noticed, but you've changed your username to TanAndWill rather than Tan&Will!

Tan, goodluck packing and have a GREAT time!! plenty of baby sitters around so enjoy yourself. Ill keep an eye out for them dummies too when im out and about.
I noticed you had changed your name - i figured its because of when you clicked on your name you were taken to another Tan's forum? Could be wrong. I kept meaning to say something but forgot! lol
Anna - Have fun ironing (i dont iron unless i truly need too! :o ) lol. I usually just fold them straight off the line and the majority of the clothes are fine when i take them off. If im going out or if the clothes look a bit creased i do iron - im not totally slack!!
Im at mums today we are staying the night. We havent been down for ages - and Cooper is so excited. He hasnt stopped cuddling my mum! So cute!
Fi - hows little owen and claire going?
Talk soon guys
 Anna - those are the dummies that Will has. I usually do just get them at the supermarket but absolutely no luck lately. I have seen the ortho ones but not the cherry ones. As for the happy baby dummies, I have tried the traditional cheryy ones and he didn't take to them, I thought it was the latex as the heinz ones are silicone. I noticed that the one you suggested has the same shape top though and maybe it is worth a try, Will didn't seem very keen on the round top on the other one either. The Heinz ones sit fairly flat against his mouth and I guess he is used to it. Oh - I did e-mail Heinz and what do you know - they didn't respond.
The username change is because the & was stuffing up the link to my profile. It was connecting me to someone else who lived in WA. I contacted the administrators and they suggested the name change as it was probably the symbol. They did it all for me so I didn't have to do anything. It was great!
Anna - I can't believe you would even consider ironing undies! Are you insane? Noone sees them! My Mum is an ironing nut and I think it has pushed me the other way because I do exactly what Hayley does and Troy irons his own!
Alright - better keep going. I have most of Will's stuff packed, if I forget anything they do have shops in Broken Hill.
Alright - I contacted Heinz about the dummies and apparently they do still make them and they sell them at Priceline, IGA, Coles and Bi-Lo. They also told me I should ask the store manager to order them in if they are not on the shelf because they should be! Obviously this doesn't help before I go to Broken Hill but I will know for future reference!
:smiliedance: :smiliedance: :smiliedance: DUMMIES FOUND AT COLES!!!!
OMG TAN! I don't iron UNDIES!!!!
I have so much ironing to do but a lot of the basket is undies and socks so I throw them in a separate basket and fold them all together later! OMG you made me laugh out loud!!!
I haven't ironed much lately anyway, usually things get pulled from the dryer as soon as they're done and folded while they're warm so no creases - there only ends up being 1/2 dozen things per load that need pressing. But when Shane was away the washing got done, but I ran out of time to fold so everything has been squished into a basket for so long that it does need pressing now!
OMG I can't believe I'm going camping tomorrow! I need to make a mad dash around this arvo to get food, more equipment and incidentals, not to mention pack tonight and in the morning - we have NO idea how to set up our tent or if we have enough stuff but I guess we'll soon find out! Best thing is that I booked a caravan for mum & John for Thus - Sun (they don't have enough camping gear yet) so at least I have power and a few bits and pieces if we need it. Mum is so excited to be coming too (we'll do separate things some days) but is off to buy the girls camping socks, Immy gum boots and other stuff because she just can't wait to spend some time with us and the girls! I'm so excited too but so nervous! Thankfully Shane packs really well and really fast so hopefully by lunch time tomorrow we'll be on the road to the sunny east coast!!!

Now that you say that I remember seeing them at Aldi too! .. if you want me to have a look at aldi for you Tan just let me know - i know they were there last week when was there! Im assuming it is pretty cheap. I know when Cooper had a dummy he would only take the NUK ones and they were really expensive! (thank goodness he gave it up lol)
I went to Aldi this week and they didn't have any. It's ok though - I went to Coles this afternoon and got two so I am very happy for now.
I'd be even happier if Will just suddenly gave his up! Oh what wishful thinking, as if. I'll be taking it away eventually I know.
Thanks for all your offers though! Most appreciated.

Tan - no rush on the dummy thing. Its not as though he is sucking on it all day!!! He might suprise you and just decide he doesnt want it one day...
I tried to catch you on msn...didnt matter just thought id have a quick chat...
Ill talk to you when you get back. Have a great time!
Alright - one last post.
I hope you all have a Safe and Happy Easter, especially those of you travelling over the break.
I'll catch up with you all when I get back but in the meantime if you are unwell I hope you get better soon, if you are pregnant then make sure you put your feet up over the break and if you have a newborn then maybe think about expressing a feed or two and having a good night's sleep!
I hope the Easter bunny finds you all safe and sound.

Tan, I hope you have a great trip & that all goes well (although considering you probably won't see this til after you get back, I should probably say I hope you had a great trip & all went well!! :D)
Hayles, good on you for winning the photo comp!! You deserve it - your photos are always very professional looking!
Anna, I hoep your trip goes/went well also! Sounds like you guys are going to have fun, I'm sure the girls will absolutely love it! I was never much one for camping. I always figured if I'm going to have a holiday that I'd rather stay at a nice resort with a bar & a pool, but lately I've been thinking that it sounds like fun. Especially with kids, although I'm not sure how Claire'd go. I guess you don't know until you try though.
Dave & I are still keen to do our campervan holiday, although it is very expensive to hire a decent campervan. So expensive in fact that it's actually cheaper to get a good deal at a nice hotel. Only thing then is that you're not travelling around for your holiday, which is kind of the point in going.
Did I tell you guys about this deal they've been advertising in the paper? It's a package deal for Vanuatu. You can stay at Le Meridian Resort in Port Vila (a very nice hotel, BTW) for 5 nights (I think it was). The deal includes return flights out of Brisbane, all airport transfers (which you need in Vanuatu, otherwise you end up having to take a very dodgy local cab - learnt our lesson the hard way last time!!), accommodation, some activities, all meals and (this is the best part!!) all drinks (local beer, house wine & basic spirits as well as soft drink) for the entire stay. Also, kids under 12 stay, play & eat free. The cost? $1599. Bargain!! So.......... when are we going ladies??!

Fi - great to hear from you! And I say we leave on that holiday tommorrow!!! :p They often have great deals in the paper like that. Ive looked at them heaps. Sounds like lost of fun. Hows Little Owen going? I read one of your posts when I had show new posts regarding his wind...seems your still not having any luck at finding a solution :hugs: You will get there...
gotta go the boy just woke up!! has only been asleep an hour~

04-04-2007, 11:38
OK back again. Managed to get him settled again and he is back asleep! :yelclap: I was beginning to think it was going to be a very long afternoon! lol. He got up early this morning (6.30) and he has been running around mums yard all morning so he was zonked by 11.30.
Anyway if i dont hear from you guys before Easter - hope you all have a great one and the easter bunny is kind :p
Goodfriday we are off for our annual volley ball championships at Trents Auntys house which is always a blast..then sat and sun just spending some family time together...nothing planned yet but knowing us we will find something to do.

Oh cool!! Volleyball! I used to play in highschool - back in the old days when I was skinny & fit!! Sounds like fun Hayles.
Yeah, Owen has been having a rough time with his wind. Poor kid just can't seem to get rid of it very easily. Last night was his worse night yet - he actually cried!!! (Not much of a crier thus far!!)
Mmmmm..... I just stuffed my face with a yummy chocolate cake I made yesterday - not much of a lunch, hey?!! lol
hayleylea
04-04-2007, 11:48
hey I reckon i cuold do a bit of chocolate cake for lunch! lol! yummo!! Yep our volley ball day is heaps of fun. There are heaps of people to go so we have heaps of teams. We have lunch and a few drinks before hand and then all our names get put in a hat and the teams are drawn out. We then have heats/finals and the grandfinal and we even have a trophey which gets the winning Team members name on it each year lol! its so much fun. I got a little blow up volley ball set for the kids (heaps of them there too ranging from coopers age to 9) So they can have their own mini competion!
As for Owen..poor little thing! Im sure you will work it out it all takes time. Hows Claire going? Still loving her little brother!? you will have to put a pic of the two of them together whenever you get the time....

04-04-2007, 12:07
Oh wow! Sounds like fun Hayley! I wish I could join you!!
Yeah, Owen's not really having much fun with the wind. I'm going to have a word with the Doc when I take him for his 4-week check-up next week. Claire is a bit funny with Owen, although getting better. She is definitely a little jealous, but I think it's just because she has no idea what's going on & who this little person is who has suddenly invaded her house & taken up all her mummy's time! Her behaviour has not been the best, but we are being very patient & understanding with her, as it must be very difficult for her to comprehend what's going on. Poor little thing! Plus, being shut up inside the house all day is boring for her. It'll be much easier once I'm able to drive again I think. We can start getting back into our weekly routine, which should make her happier. Dave was around this morning, so I took the opportunity to drag him along to the library for story time. Claire was very quiet there for the first time ever!! Normally she's racing around making herself the centre of attention! But it was great to catch up with all the other mums I haven't seen for a few weeks. Playgroup has stopped for the school hols unfotunately, so we won't be able to get back into that for another few weeks. It starts back on the 23rd. :(
Oh hey!!!! Sorry for being such a blabbermouth this morning, but I forgot to tell you guys about my crazy-a$$ MIL!!!
We were racing around trying to get dinner organised last night when the phone rang. I answered it, and it was MIL. This was how the convo went:
Me: Hello?
Crazy MIL: Oh, hi Fiona!
Me: Hi!
Crazy MIL: I was just calling to see how everything was going.
Me: Really well actually. Thanks for asking.
Crazy MIL: That's good. You know, I've gotten used to his name now. When David first told me it was "Owen" I thought it was a bit of a funny name.
Me: Is that right?
Crazy MIL: Yeah, I just thought it was an odd name. But I'm sure when you look at him it must suit him.
Me: Yes, he does suit it actually.
Crazy MIL: Well, that's good. OK well I'd better let you get back to it. Just wanted to see how everything was going. Oh, and by the way, I've sent a parcel down with something for the kids.
Me: (Trying my best not to sound peeved) That's great. Thanks. I'll let you know once we get it. Bye.
What a whacko!!!

OMG Fi, i cant believe your MIL said them things! WHACKO indeed! Thats just not something you say to someone. Well done for holding your cool though!
As for Claire, its hard to imagine what she is making of the whole thing with Owen. I guess patience is the key she will soon realise that Owen is there to stay and when he is a bit older they will be the best of friends because she will have someone to play with!
And as for being a babbler mouth - god knows what you must think of me then! Im always posting lol :o :p
Better get back to it..im cooking dinner - we not long go back home. Talk soon...

OMG guys, i just put Ted in the washing machine for the first time!!! :smiliedance: :fingerscrossed: he comes out clean and intact! rofl. I have given him the new version of ted with the old doll outfit his orginal ted usually has on...so far he hasnt noticed the difference and quite happily went off to bed with him :D
Anyway I better get some stuff done while the boys are in bed (Trent was on night shift last night). Cooper and I tried to go down the street but we drove around for about 40 minutes looking for a car park :banghead: I got the ****s and decided to come home! lol. Might walk down later when the boy wakes up.
Have a lovely easter everyone. I dont suppose we will be hearing from anyone much over the next few days with Tan away and and Anna camping...Have a good one.
Oh and Ange have a GREAT time at the races tommorrow!! Have a drink (or 10 or more!) for me! lol.
I tried to get Nat on MSN the other day but she didnt answer. Hope she is OK.
Renee' hope the the uni assignments are easing up and you get to have a nice relaxing easter.
Lou - hows the colds going at your house?
Cath - Hope all is well for you and Paddy too and hope that Dean is all recovered!

Crazy MIL update:
They sent us a parcel with some clothes for the kids (Easter pressies) which we got yesterday. Dave rang them to say thanks and MIL starts up again about Owen's name!
Apparently she said to Dave "Oh, you must've named him after someone in Fiona's family, did you?" Dave said no and she said (sounding perplexed) "So you just picked it out of the air? Seems an odd name to have chosen, that's all."
OK Crazy MIL! I get it - you don't like the name Owen. And you know what? I honestly don't care!! Just stop going on and on about it!!
Hayles, I hope Ted makes it through his bath OK!
Have a great Easter all! Hayles & I will try to fill up as many pages as we can for you all to catch up on while you're away having fun!! :devil6: :D
Hi everyone,
what a nutter Fi!! Owen is a great name - she has no idea (and obviously no sense to keep her thoughts to herself). We had Dean's sister and a couple of her daughters here the other day and they started talking about names for baby 2 and bagging them and they actually mentioned one of the shortened versions of the name we have chosen for baby 2 in their list of names they thought were funny/stupid -aren't they going to be embarrassed when they hear his name. People really need to keep their opinions to themselves.
Hayley I hate that when you plan to go somewhere and then it is all too hard and you just come home after wasting time -how annoying!! Hope you have fun tomorrow.
Tan hope the trip has gone well and you are now relaxing and having fun.
Anna I am so impressed that you have gone camping -big effort!! Hope it is going well.
Lou hope you are all getting better and enjoying time with your Mum.
Renee good to hear from you -well done with the studying.
We have a trip to the Melbourne Zoo planned for Monday with my best friend and her husband and their son who is 6 weeks younger than Paddy. I can't wait to see Paddy's face - he is going to love it -he is animal obsessed at the moment and is making all sorts of noises for the different animals. My favourite one is the kangaroo noise - he sounds so cute doing it. For some reason every time he sees a frog he says "up up" which I think is his version of "ribbit ribbit" -that's a bit of a funny one but the rest are pretty accurate. Dean is much improved and back to eating normally and sleeping again at night. He is still a bit noisy but much improved and his Dr said it will take a little while for him to be totally quiet.
Anyway hope everyone has a happy Easter and I will chat soon.

Hey guys
Fi, Your MIL sounds likes she needs to be put in her place. If she doesnt like the name then she should just get over it - you and dave like the name - (as well as many other people out there - me included!) and its YOUR child so get over it and stop saying stuff about it! :banghead: I wouldnt be holding my tounge next time she said anything thats for sure.
Cath - the Zoo trip sounds like fun. Cooper would love the Zoo too..he loves animals!!
Better go we are running behind time tonight - just gotta get Cooper out of the shower.
Oh and Ted made it out of the washing machine in tact and he still plays music!! lol. :smiliedance: He is much cleaner but there are some stains i dont think will be coming out in a hurry

oh almost forgot. The easter bunny was at the shopping centre today! Cooper hated him!! lol. It was so funny the easter bunny came over to him and he wouldnt let go off me and just screamed....if the easter bunny moved away he was quite happy to look but as soon as he got near he screamed and screamed lol! priceless!
Oh oh and almost forgot something else. I finally put the potty in the bathroom just to familarise Cooper with it...Anyway while we were running the shower tonight i sat him on it and said "do a wee" he looked at me and grabbed his "diddle" and just laughed then stood up and Weed everywhere lol!! Now he did do a wee but unfortunatley missed the potty!!  It was very funny.
Hi guys,
first up I have a message from Anna:
"Hugs and kisses to everyone from me. I'll be back late sunday night so make sure you don't all chat up a storm or I'll be too buggered to read it all. Have a great easter holiday!".
I hope Anna has a great camping trip and that the weather is fantastic.
Fi - so unfair that you are eating chocolate cake! Now I am craving warmed up chocky cake with ice-cream. Oooo yum! Your MIL sounds like my MIL and the stupid thoughtless comments that come out of her mouth. what is it with these nutbags? I would be so tempted to tell her the next time she opens her gob that you have changed owens name to Zippydeedoodah coz his grandma didn't like his name. That should shut her up for a while Fi. What does she expect you to say or do? I mean really. Sorry to hear that Owen is having such a horrid time with his wind. Have you looked into your diet since your BF? There is one theory out there that certain foods can cause bad wind, like onions, cabbage, chocolate ect. I have no idea but if his wind is really bad on some nights it may be worth keeping a diary of foods consumed?
Hayley, that volleyball comp sounds like a blast. What a fun way to spend Easter. Cooper sounds so funny with his Wee wee episode. And the Easter bunny thing sounds like Maddi with Santa. She hated Santa and it took me ages to get a photo with them together. And even so in photo she looks so pained.
Cath, the zoo! Oh god that would be so much fun. Paddy is going to have a blast. I bet he sleeps really well that night.
Well Maddi and I have come to Bairnsdale with my parents for a week. It was a epic car ride, we left at 10am and arrived here at 8pm. There were a few stops at shopping centre, parks and the doctor but we finally got here. Maddi was so good considering how long the day was. My mum has our cold/virus and is really bad as she has laryngitis and can't talk and her throat is really, really sore. We are all on antibiotics and coughing non stop. I feel so bad for my mum getting sick during her visit. Maddi is loving being here at my parents. She was all rugged and playing in the garden today as it was pretty cold outside. If its a nice day tommorow we'll head to the beach for some sand time.
OK I should really help dad with the dishes although I think he's done. Have a safe and Happy easter everyone. Here's to lots of yummy easter eggs!

Hey Lou - thanks for the message from Anna...Ill try to hold back on my posts Anna so you dont have too many to read through. It wont be that hard because there are a few away!
Lou - how awful you all have the dreaded flu! Not what your mum needed for her visit home, mind you atleast she has you and Maddi - she must be over the moon spending time with you guys!
Well as you all know its our big volley ball day today and my little man woke up in a cranky cranky mood! I thought just great!!! Because the lunch starts at 12 which is usually his sleep time so i thought what a great mood he will be in! Anyway come 10.15 he was still really moody and i said OK off to bed then and he went and 5 minutes later he was asleep! :smiliedance: So hopefully he wakes up with his happy pants on! Im stoked he went to sleep for me.
its pretty cold and windy here today!!
Anyway im off - have a lovely long weekend girls.

Hayley, that's so funny about Cooper & the potty!! lol I'm sure he'll soon make the connection! Hopefully he wakes up a bit happier for you.
My two decided they weren't going to sleep today!! Took me nearly an hour of driving around to finally get Claire to sleep & Owen needed a huge feed/burp session before he'd go down. (Yeah, I know I'm not meant to be driving yet, but it was the only way I could get her to go to sleep today!!)
Lou, great to hear from you & thanks for the message from Anna - I have a feeling she'll be doing some catching up when she gets back! (sorry Anna! :o) Yes, IL's can be a PIA. Thankfully mine are rarely this painful, but they do have their moments, that's for sure!! I was telling my mum about it yesterday and she couldn't believe how rude MIL was!
I have thought about foods etc that might be causing Owen discomfort/wind, but apart from milk, I can't honestly say that anything I eat might be causing it. Because regardless of what I have during the day, he's the same every night. Perhaps it's a lactose thing?? Who knows. I saw a LC when I was PG and she said that foods you eat shouldn't give a baby wind etc unless they have a sensitivity or allergy.
Wow! That certainly was a huge drive!! I'm glad you made it there safe & sound - sanity intact! Have a great weekend, won't you?
Cath, I bet you guys can't wait to see Dean's sister's face when you tell them your new bub's name!! That is so funny! Glad to hear Dean is feeling better & that the op was successful. That's great! Have fun at the zoo on Monday - I bet Paddy has an absolute blast!! Claire would love it too. I think we'll have to take her to Australia Zoo soon. It's only just up the road from us. We took DSD a couple of years ago & I was very impressed by it. She too loves animals & makes just about every animal noise you can think of! So cute!! We went out for a walk this morning & a horse came right up to the fence near where we were walking (we live near the racecourse, so lots of horse paddocks around). Well, Claire just jumped straight off her bike and ran right up to it! She wasn't the slightest bit scared of it! I had to grab her before she got too close. She was so excited though.
Is anyone else doing an easter egg hunt? I thought Claire might still be a bit young for it, but Dave wanted to do it for her, so we bought a few little eggs etc. We'll set them up in the back yard & see how she goes on Sunday.

Morning guys! Feel great this morning. Sorry about my post last night i was a little tipsy.
Cooper and Braiden just got up. Cooper was so excited to see his cousin here - he gave him the biggest cuddles. Its so much easier when they have someone to keep them occupied!!
Anyway better get back to it just about to cook some pancakes YUMMO!
ETA: Fi we are doing an easter egg hunt tommorrow too. Im just going to put the eggs in really obvious places. He did one yesterday at the get together yesterday. they put heaps out for all the kids. he didnt really know what he was going but when i pointed out where the eggs were he got really excited.

Hmmm... Hope Harry hasn't snuck up on you Hayles!!
Glad to hear the volleyball went well!
I've had such a hectic morning!!
Owen woke up at 6 after feeding from 4-5. He went back to sleep about 7 and the second I lay him down, Claire woke up (no rest for the wicked, so they say!! :devil6:). So off I went to attend to her. Then I was bloody tired having only had a few hours sleep, but Claire was in no mood to let me rest quietly on the couch!
Owen woke up about 9-ish, so I fed him then got the two of them dressed & ready to go, headed out down to the shops in terrible holiday traffic (perhaps the only down side of living where we do - cannot move during Xmas/Easter hols for all the tourists) Just about to pull into the car park when I look in the mirror to see Claire sound asleep.
So I turned the car around, drove all the way back home (Owen was grizzling by this stage anyway, for some reason wanting another feed) got Claire out of the car, went to lie her down in her cot, and she woke up!
So then I fed Owen, put them both back into the car, head back down to the shops. A 10 minute drive took over half an hour because between the two trips, there'd been a bad, bad accident on the main road & traffic was backed up for kms.
Eventually get to the shopping centre, miraculously manage to snare a parking spot near the door. When we went in there..... OMG!!!! I have never in my life seen so many people in this relatively small shopping centre!!
Fought my way through Kmart to exchange a pair of shoes - ended up buying a tonne of things I didn't need and completely FORGOT the ONE thing I went in there for in the first place!!!! :banghead: Idiot! There was no way I was going back in there. The whole place was so packed it was damn near impossible to move around & it took FOREVER to get through the registers.
Had to go get some stuff for dinner & for brekky tomorrow, struggled my way through Coles, after about 10 minutes I gave up & struggled my way back out again & just went to the butcher instead.
Made our way back to the car, only to be nearly run down by an old guy in a car he could berely see over the steering wheel. A guy coming towards me offered to go kick his car door in for me  - Politely declined his offer!
Finally got the two kids into the car - by this stage Claire was so tired & cranky she had been grizzling about nothing non-stop for the past 20 minutes.
Drove home through CRAZY holiday traffic (saw some things that I'm still shaking my head about!!) & managed to get Claire in bed without her waking up. Got Owen fed & down - then Dave calls to tell me absolutely nothing, and of course the phone ringing woke Owen up!!
I finally got him back down again & now I just want to go to sleep!! Although of course, bubhub is more important!! lol
OK, sorry for the whinge!
Hope you're all having a great weekend!!

07-04-2007, 13:15
Fi - what a morning!!!! Hope the rest of the afternoon works out for you and the kiddies sleep for a long time!! (hopefully you can get a few  in too! after bubhub of course  )
Nope no harry hangover today! :smiliedance: I wasnt overly drunk or anything and i only stuck to beer, so harry got to stay away this time which im happy about. I am extremely tired tire though. Im definatley not as young as i use to be...the whole drinking thing didnt really bother me back then but now it takes ages to get over it. (my fault i know!) My sister and BIL came over and we had hamburgers and chips for dinner. Cooper was soooooooo tired by 1 so he is now down for a sleep. He cried when Braiden left though - he loved having him here. He was so sad when he said good bye he just held onto brady and wanted to go with him. So cute.
Anyway this house looks like a bombs hit it...i just cant be bothered cleaning it up! Agh..i better get off her and go do it!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!
Hope everyone has a great day and that the easter bunny was kind!
Cooper decided that he wanted to get up at 5.30 this morning!! Well he woke up SCREAMING, i ended up putting him into bed with us till about 6.40 till i realised he wasnt going to go to sleep! Ah well not to worry. We decided to do a "easter egg hunt" inside because its wawy too cold outside (and wet) Cooper went really well with it...but has wanted to eat them all at one time...so they have been put away for now! He loves his chocolate bunny though (dont think it will be getting eaten for awhile though) he has been cuddling it and pretending to give him chocolate eggs! So cute!!!
Anyway hope everyone has an enjoyable day - we are off to mums later to catch up with everyone...should be good.

HI girls
I'm very tired and very hungry and this morning I had a THUMPER of a headache rofl. I think it's a good thing I only go out about once every 6 months
Once I figure out how to upload a photo, I'll show you how my dress looked.

Ok, hopefully that worked. I'm off to have a coffee. Need to put something in my tummy.
Hope everyone has had/is having a safe and fun Easter!!
HI GIRLS!!!!!!!!!
We're back!
Made it safe and sound, had fun camping and the kids made heaps of new friends!
Will fill you in more later but I have a MOUNTAIN for washing to do and we want to get everything totally unpacked and put away so we can relax tomorrow.
Poor Immy isn't well. She woke up at 4am and threw up chunks so I cleaned her up and changed her, then the 3 of us spent the next 2 hours snuggled together under 1 sleeping bag that we opened up until I messaged my mum (who was staying in a cabin on site) to see if I could bring her down for a shower. Poor darl is in bed now and I'm off to finish unpacking.
MISSED YOU ALL HEAPS!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday break! Promise to come back and catch up on you all soon!

Oh dear Ange!! Had a feeling you'd be in hangover mode today!!
Hayles, that's so cute about Cooper & his Easter Bunny!
We did an egg hunt for Claire in the front yard. I didn't exactly hide them, just lay them around in the garden, but she had so much fun!! She ate one small egg before breakfast () and then we hid the rest in the fridge. Mum & dad came round with a whole stack of eggs for her too!
She was a bit naughty this morning though. She wouldn't go to sleep & as a result had about 26 huge, screaming tantrums because she was so tired. She eventually fell asleep on the floor at my feet as I was feeding Owen.
I'd better go. I'm trying to feed Owen as I type & it's not working very well!

Hi guys i decided to put the progress pics up of Coopers room. Its all painted now - the only thing left to do is to fit out the walk in robe and laquer the windows. The stickers cant go up until 30 days after painting either. Now the photos dont really do it justice and the hills probably arent the best hills that have ever been painted but im quite happy with it. I think it will look awesome with the animals on it. (not the best pics either) Ill see if i can find a before shot of the room too!
First walking into the room (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/Croom3.jpg)
walls (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/Croom4.jpg)
Other wall (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/Croom2.jpg)
View of Door (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/Croom2.jpg)
Window View (windows havent been laquered yet) (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/Coopersroom.jpg)
I cant find the before pic of his room but here is a pic of what all the rooms looked liked before we renovated them. This one doesnt look too bad..but Coopers wall boards were all crocked and the window was really shabby.
http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/houseandarmy016.jpg
Ok hope you liked them! As i said it not the best but will look better with the animals on the wall!

Whats up there?!? (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/Axelandcooperbw.jpg) (had to make it black and white because Cooper has conjunctivitis :banghead: and his eyes looked really runny)

Chatting to you on msn Hayles, so I won't reply to you here! ;)
Anna, hope your holiday went well (despite Immy being sick, poor little dear!) Can't wait to hear all about it!
Both the kids are asleep - yay!! And Claire went down without a fight for the second day running - WOO-HOO!!!!! :smiliedance:
Kimmy goes for her Artificial Insemination tomorrow. Rusty has finally started showing an interest in her, so he's been locked away in the kennels down the back.
Not much else happening here. Catch up with you all soon!
Hey! What's with the chatting and not buzzing me in?!
I'm all caught up - you guys didn't chat too much thank goodness!
Hayles - I've always wondered how you do Coopers hair? It's always got such a cute little wiff thing at the front! I might need some tips from you - girls hair is so easy and there's so much you can do, but I'm not sure what to do with boys hair!!
Tan - How was your trip? We haven't heard from you yet! Can't wait to hear about it and how Will went!
Ange - HOT! HOT! HOT! Woman!! That dress looks AWESOME on you! You must have felt so great getting all dolled up - hair, make up, dress etc and those SHOES! When I've finished having kids and I lose a little weight I've promised myself an expensive pair of hot red shoes! LOL!
Fi - what's with the crazy MIL? What a mental case! My parents or in-laws would NEVER DARE say anything about one of our kids names (although they all like them as far as I know!) except for once when my nan got all panicked about how she was going to explain the name Imogen to her mother (my great-grandmother) back in Greece because they don't have the letter "G" in their alphabet, so that was a fair enough argument - there's no "Greek" name for Imogen so she had a hard time explaining it over the phone but when she wrote it in a letter her mother understood it fine and loved it!
As for the Vanuatu deal - OMG! I already told Shane about it and he looked at me like I was flippin looney! I was THAT excited about it! So would it be a "family" trip seeing as though kids stay for free? Or still just the girls? You know, I really wouldn't mind it being a family trip - you only have to mention blokes and free beer and most of our guys should be happy to tag along! OH CAN WE?! CAN WE?! CAN WE?!! I'm glad those sort of deals come up often, we'll DEFINATELY have to keep it in mind!:p
Cath - your trip to Melbourne Zoo sounds great! My friend Louise (who has Isabelle & Samantha) and I are going to take the kids out to Bonorong Wildlife Park sometime soon - it's not like a big zoo but there's heaps of Tasmanian wildlife and it's very interactive for kids - there's wildlife wandering around the park that you can approach and pat, and you can go into some areas with a guide and pat koalas etc.
So glad to hear that Dean is on the mend - he sure did have a rough time!
Lou - well I had heaps to say but as soon as you mentioned warm chocolate cake and ice cream I'd forgotten it all and now I'm craving this chocolate mud cake from our local larder (gormet shop) that we slice into HUGE chunks and microwave then serve with ice cream. I haven't had it since I joined weight watchers and OMG girl what are you doing to me?!! I know where I'll be heading as soon as Shane gets home! The shop is just around the corner and BY CRIKEY they'd better have some or there'll be hell to pay!!!!!
So where's Bairnsdale? And how come it took you so long to get there?! Your poor mum getting sick too. Hmm maybe she'll be too sick to fly back to her mum and will have to stay a little longer??!! Your dad must be happy to have her here for a while though. When does she go back?
I'll post this then come back to tell you of our trip!

 That cute little wiff thing in the front of Coopers hair is actually a cowlip (or whatever they are called) I usually just put some water in it and spike it up or if we are going out somewhere i put the inciest bit of hair gell in it and it keeps it up most of the day! Because of the cowlip in the front it doesnt really sit flat anyway - i think its quite cute! I just keep the spike thing with Cooper because i think it really suits him (that in mind it is getting a bit long to spike so he might be due for yet ANOTHER hair cut soon! lol) Boys hair is easy! I tried to do my neices hair the other day and its so thin and i found it hard!! lol. I just wet Coopers and scruff it up and its done!
Ive just rearranged Coopers room! Its so much better now but i moved his cot so i hope he doesnt get too out of sorts with his sleeping tonight! Everything fits in perfectly so now the lounge room doesnt look like a playschool! ROFL!
Anyway better get back to it.....
LOL Hayles - you mean cowlick?  Cute!
hayleylea
10-04-2007, 15:46
 yep thats what i meant Anna :o You know i was going to write cowlick but i thought that was wrong so i went with the other one! ROFL! Ah well whatever it is called (stupid name really!)
Well I'm settled back home now, most of the stuff is packed away and the washing done. Poor old Immy is still not quite right, there's definately something going through her at the moment.
We arrived at the camp site on Wed and set up our tent which took longer than we hoped but it was the first time so it was ok. Luckily we arrived before the Easter rush because we have the Taj Mahal of tents! It's a 12 person tent with 3 sections inside. Shane, Immy and I were in the left, the middle was for our stuff and Chelsea & Nicola were on the right. There's so much room for their friends to come in future years but we'll have to take a trailer with us and our small dome tent for all the stuff!
Oh I forgot to say, we arrived at the caravan park in Bicheno (Bish-eno) and drove around it once, gave each other that "I don't think so" look and promptly left. We drove down the road to another one and booked in! The first site was just a block of land behind a take away with bugger-all on it, no trees and no play area - and they wanted to charge $20 a night! I'd gotten a quote for the other place but you couldn't book for the camp site - in the end I'd been quoted wrong and it was only $22 a night so we went there - it was a great place - HUGE area, lots of people, camp kitchen, laundry, toilet/shower blocks, great play area for the kids etc. The tent area was lovely with trees and sheltered from the surrounding lights. We were much happier.
Anyway, the kids just loved the whole experience. Immy settled in really well and apart from a bit of tossing and turning the first night (I think I was over cautious and she was too hot) slept really well and even had an arvo nap. She had her own comfy sleeping mat & sleeping bag in which I put a sheepskin and put a blanket over her then did the sleeping back up around her a little. We took her bed buddies and her musical octopus and she was quite happy. Check out her CLASSIC bed hair the next day!
I had all 3 girls in their warm, fleecy bunny suits the whole time and although it wasn't freezing at night it was chilly so I slept well knowing they were warm. Shane and I on the other hand had dramas. We'd bought sleeping bags that can be zipped together but we're not sure if they've given us the right ones because the tops were a lot tighter so we were basically strangling each other. In the end we opened the bags up so we had like a huge doona and we ended up sleeping better but hot so had to strip off our flannel jammies and sleep in t-shirts and undies (and my fluffy socks! )
We took the kids for walks along the beach, drove up to this GREAT pancake place, went to the natural beach blow hole which the kids just LOVED and when mum & John came up (on the Friday) we went to Coles Bay and did the Wine Glass Bay lookout trek. I SO nearly died. I'd never been there before but it was a TOUGH steep climb thru the saddle of two mountains - about 50 min up and a little less down. I'll KILL my mother. I still ache all over and it's DEFINATELY not recommended for women 6.5 months pregnant! Contractions ALL the way and we ALL slept well that night! Immy loved the view from her papoose and the kids coped really well, with Nicola tagging behind with nan-nan & poppy John!
Funny little omens came up too. One night we heard an ambulance scream past and I said, well at least I know there's help if I need it (still getting contractions). Mum and I headed to the take away shop for dinner that night and in walks a paramedic! We chatted to him for a bit while we waited for our order and aparently he's had quite a few babies delivered in the back of his ambo! It's mostly the little boys that were the fastest - didn't really ease my mind too much. Then when we finally got to the top of the lookout on our hike, poor old me red faced, sweating and contracting like crazy, who should be at the top but two midwives! Both took one look at me and said I didn't look ready to pop. I said, I bloody hope not but I sure feel like it! Then everyone laughed and made jokes about what the newspaper headlines would read the next day "Hazard on the Hazards as woman gives birth!" "Baby makes entrance in a room with a view" & "First woman to drop bundle from 200ft" etc etc floppin etc. I just sat back and hoped and prayed that I made it back to the car.
The weather was perfect for us, I managed to cook on our camp stove, brought too much food with us (typical Greek) and packed up the car in relatively good time. As I mentioned before, Immy was sick on the last night. I heard her roll around and sat bolt upright as soon as I smelt chuck. Yelled to Shane to turn on the light and snatched her up. She'd been sick on the tent floor but then chucked in the hood of my sleeping back as I'd flipped it off me to grab her. After we changed her & cleaned up as much as possible we all snuggled under 1 open sleeping bag for the next two or so hours until I took her for a shower in mums cabin. Thankfully that was on the last day and we travelled straight home. She'd eaten a handful of dry nutra grain for brekkie and lots of water - and she puked all the water back up in the car which made me worry. She slept for 14 hours that night and woke up happy but with no colour in h er face. Even today, even though she's chirpy and has colour, she has diahorrea - like baby poo - so she either has a mild tummy bug or it's something to do with teething (she's off her food as well and didn't have a scrap for lunch).
So in all, camping was great. We won't be doing it again for at least a year - can't possible do it with a baby but I'm definately keen to take the kids (and baby) to a cabin somewhere and do some day trips - all I'd need to pack is clothes and some food. I've learned that I can shop when I get there and I don't need to pack everything! Check out some of our photos - didn't get many because I just found out that my 2 camera batteries have decided to give up the ghost and would only take a few pics at a time before the camera shut down. :( So now I've got to go ebay and find some replacements as I didn't know they only had a life span of aroun 2-3 years! :banghead: Thanks for reading! Had a lovely Easter break and I even think Shane enjoyed himself even though he taught me cribbage while away and now I'm whooping his butt at it! LOL!
xoxo
P.S. I'll add the album later - photos are loading.
ETA: Here's the link to my album (http://s121.photobucket.com/albums/o236/chenicimo/Camping%20Easter07/?start=0)
Hey wanna hear something funny?
Shane was going to cook a basic pasta for dinner tonight until I started emptying a plastic bag and said "uh oh". He asked "what?" I said "I'm not telling or you'll have your hands around my neck so fast!" He said - NO! Not Taco's again!!!! LMAO!
Yup. We're having taco's for dinner again!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! You know how ages ago we had problems with the next door neighbour bringing that druggo into her house!? Well everything has been Great since he moved out which was ages ago - she is still a bit of a weirdo but harmless - she drinks alot but she keeps to herself and is always friendly. Anyway today i was out in the backyard and up the driveway (shared driveway) walks this older lady with prooxide blonde hair, no teeth and scabs all over her face and she stumbled into next door. Anyway i thought she had gone because i hadnt heard anything till about 7 when all i could hear was them two yelling and carrying on and singing (loud and drunk) and then they just came outside and were yelling and carrying on and then of course my dogs went off (very protective) and they started banging my gate!!!!!! Trents on afternoon shift so i was scared ****less!! I managed to call axel inside and in the end i turned the light on and got roxy to come - oh i cant wait to move and not have to worry about people like this!!! This lady spoke to me while i was hanging the clothes out when Cooper was right next to me and she was using the F word and everything so loud.. Cooper was scared and kept covering his ears (he does that when he doesnt like something). I think they have obviously gone to the pub or something like that but if they come back up this driveway banging on my gate ill be calling the police - Roxy will eat them if they put their hands over there. Not very nice people!
Sorry for the vent guys!

Anna just checked out your photos! Looks like you had a great time and  at Immys bed hair lol
Gosh where is everybody??!!
At least I know it's not me! I haven't been around to kill the thread!
Well today our next door neighbour's girl Renee (10) is here for the day. Her parents work and she usually goes to her grandparents in the school holidays but her nan got called in to work so I'm looking after her. Poor old Chelsea misses out as she's still at nans, ah well, what she doesn't know won't hurt her!
Planning on going to Rock n Rhyme & Story Time at the library later this morning then having lunch out somewhere. Renee is SUCH a huge help, she's over here quite often and just loves playing with the kids - they love her too which is great because it means I have a sure-fire baby sitter in a few years time! :smiliedance:
Ok, better go swallow some footballs of multi-vitamins and get the kids ready to go.

Hey guys vote for me in the photo comp!
http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=82841
Tan was only on MSN for a sec, will be around later.
Hello everyone! It's nice to know I was missed when I was away! LOL. I missed you guys too.
First the personals. Anna, your camping trip looked and sounded great fun. Your little girls looked so cute in their sleeping bags. I loved Immy's bed hair - she looked like she had a rough night! I hope she is feeling better, tummy upsets are not pleasant at the best of times and I think it is so mean when they are little because they don't understand what is happening.
Hayley - poor you and those neighbours! They would scare me too. Isn't Cooper cute covering his ears? What a good boy. He knows what he should and shouldn't listen too. Will cries when people are yelling, it really upsets him too.
Fi - you sound like you are powering along with your two little ones. Your MIL is annoying isn't she? My Mum didn't like the name Will but she got over it. My friend has a bub called Henri and her Mum laughed when Jo told her the babies name. When Jo said she wasn't joking her Mum said "Oh Jo! Really?" So you get the feeling there! Some people have no idea. I think if I were you I'd be tempted to start making little slack comments about the name Dave...
Cath - glad to hear that Dean is healing nicely. I hope you had a nice Easter and a great time at the zoo. I really want to take Will to the zoo one day as I am sure he would love it. He has been getting into the animal noises too although some of them are pretty funny.
Lou - I hope you are all feeling better. What a shame you have all been ill while your Mum has been home. I hope you still managed to have fun at Easter.
Ange - you looked hot in that dress chick! Bet you had a great day.
Now for the news about our trip away. We had a really great trip and Will was just fantastic. It was a really busy week and he coped amazingly well - going to sleep in all different places (always in a portacot though) and being woken up and moved in the night often, meeting lots and lots of different people and generally being out of routine. I was so proud of him. He was so good and all without his teddy who I forgot in my mad rush out the door last Wednesday morning. I thought I was going to hyperventialte on the plane when I realised I had forgotten teddy (he has been everywhere with us since Will was 3 months old) - but we went and bought Will a fluffy duck the first day we were there and other than 10 minutes of crying the first night he was fine.
The plane trip there and back was uneventful and Will read books, ate snacks and drew pictures and was very well behaved. I was just amazed. When we landed in Sydney last night he pointed out the window of the plane and said "more!" like he wanted to go again.
I think the proudest I was of him was at my brother's wedding. The wedding was at 5pm (5:30 our time) and it was in a restuarant that over looks Broken Hill. Now that is normally Will's dinner time but he was just fantastic. Troy was taking photos and I had a video camera and Will just stayed with my Dad, gave Jodie (the bride) a kiss on her way in and was just so beautiful I could have cried. It was a really special occasion. After the ceremony Will sat up and ate fish and chips and we took him home by about 7 where he went to bed at my brother's place and we left him with a babysitter. Then we headed back to the wedding and partied on. Without boring you with stuff about someone you don't know, my brother had a really awful time with his first marriage and it was just so wonderful to see him happy and enjoying himself again. Sometime over the next couple of days I will create a couple of new pages on Will's website and you can see a little bit of our holiday. The only downside about the holiday was that Will decided 5:30 - 6am was a good time to get up and now I am trying to convince him otherwise. This morning he grizzled and talked on and off until 7 but he wasn't too bad. I guess he will settle down in a couple of days.
Well - this has been a mammoth effort from me and I hope you haven't fallen asleep reading it. I'll catch up more in the next couple of days, I have mountains of washing to do!

Tan!! Great to have you back!! It sounds like you all had a wonderful trip! Glad to hear Will was such a good boy (like he could have been anything otherwise! ;)) and that your brother was so happy! I had to laugh when you mentioned making snide comments to my MIL about the name "David". I can't really do that as my brother is also David!! (Although I did consider it! She's such a whacko, I'm sure she's forgotten that I have a brother at all, let alone one named David!)
Anna, glad to hear your trip went well also! I can't believe you went on that big hike!! You better rest up now!
Hayles, to your scary neighbour! I'd be calling the cops too! She has no right to be doing all that stuff & scaring you (especially while Cooper is standing right there!) even if she is an alco!! Oh, and I've voted for you in the photo comp again!
Claire went off to sleep by herself again today - YAY!! When she gets tired now, she flips out her Dora couch, then pulls all the cushions off the sofa, piles them up & lays down & goes to sleep. Then once she's asleep, I just pick her up & put her into bed. So great!!
We ended up getting some Brauer's Colic Relief for Owen. I started him on it this morning & it seems to have calmed him down quite a lot. Not so much straining & grunting. I hope it works. Poor little bugger! We were using the Infacol, and while he was bringing up massive big burps, he still seemed to be in pain afterwards.
Kimmy got her AI done today & her whelping date is in June (beginning of June some time. I've forgotten the date already!)
Much to do while the kiddies are sleeping, so Ciao for now ladies!

He flat our refused to go to sleep in his cot so i layed him down in his big bed and he went to sleep within 5 minutes
Here he is! AWWWWW! (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/bigbed.jpg)
Anyway i better go but ill talk soon...

That's excellent Hayley!!
We will have to switch Claire over once Owen gets too big for the bassinet (which, considering the way he's growing, I doubt will be too long!) and I'm a bit concerned about how she'll fare.
I was thinking of starting her off using it for day sleeps. Also, I've told Dave that the holding her until she's asleep stops once she's in the Big Bed. I'm going to have her get into bed for her bottle & a story, then I'm happy to sit with her til she's asleep (at this stage) but there will be no more rocking!!
That photo is so cute, BTW Hayles! No wonder he wanted to sleep in his Big Bed!! Looks like fun!

11-04-2007, 14:36
Well he slept for 2 hours in his big bed so he must have liked it. I suspect he would have slept longer only i went and checked on him and woke him!!!
:banghead: 2 hours isnt too bad though
Be interesting where he goes when i say off to bed tonight lol....i still would like him to sleep in his cot of a night but we will see how we go!
I wouldnt usually leave all the toys on his bed...i honestly didnt think he would sleep thats why i didnt take them off lol
Well done Cooper!! He just looks so cute in that bed Hayley. Our babies are definitely growing up.
Fi sounds like Claire is on her way to being a big girl too. That's great she will just lie down and go to sleep on her couch - fantastic!! Poor little Owen and his tummy pain.
Welcome back Anna and Tan. Sounds like both your trips away were great. Good effort with the big walk Anna.
Ange that dress looked great.
Lou how's everyone in your family going? Hope you are all slowly getting better.
Just a quick hello for me. I have a little man who isn't too happy. He got a coat hanger (with a blunt edge but still a wire hanger) stuck in his cheek yesterday and I think he has done some damage. He had the hook bit stuck in his cheek and was pulling on the hanging bit with all his might trying to get it out in his panic. Lucky I got it out when I did -could have possibly come through his cheek if he kept pulling. He has been drooling like mad today and cries when he tried he eat grapes which he loves. He woke up from his nap (which was short) with the bottom sheet soaked in drool and was very unsettled going to sleep last night. I had to go in there 4 times in an hour and ended up giving him Nurofen then he went to sleep. I think he has a sore mouth but I can't get a good look. Poor little silly man - coat hangers will be put way out of reach from now on. It was a little kid's one that didn't look too dangerous but obviously I was wrong. Anyway I will chat soon.

Well dont i feel like a dill!!!! I went shopping today at coles to get some groceries and I got home and went to get the museli bars out for Cooper and realised they werent there. I thought i must have dropped them along the way because i dropped the bags when putting them in the car. Anyway i didnt think anything of it. And i went to pack away the groceries and I only had one bag!! I realised i was missing a whole heap of stuff that couldnt have possibly have lost all that stuff! So i rang up Coles and i had left it there!! :o Luckily they are holding it for me till tommorrow! :smiliedance:
Dont I feel like a dill.. Oh well!!
Cooper has discovered that going round and round in circles makes him dizzy!! OMG its hillarious. Ill have to get it on video and put it on his site. He has always just gone around once or twice but now he just goes round and round and round. he thinks he is so good!
Anyway i better go feed this boy and then give him a bath. We are being lazy tonight and having snags , mash potato and vegies.. Trents at work so i went for something easy.. Cooper LOVES sausages anyway!
Tan i forgot to mention that Im glad that your brother had a really nice wedding and is happy..sounds like he married a dragon last time!!
I've done that too Hayley but I never got it back (and it was a bag with all the good stuff -icecream,peanut M&M's etc. too). We must just have too much happening in our minds.
Paddy just started doing the twirling around thing last night too. I was waiting for him to crash into the coffee table. Funny kids. Paddy has decided it is great fun to be chased around the house and now just starts running down the hall and keeps doing a loop through the lounge/diningroom and running past you until you chase him then he giggles like mad - cute!! Couldn't keep doing it today - he doesn't realise I am an expanding pregnant woman. He will have to wait until Dean gets home for more chasey.
Sausages sounds good to me -I'm hungry now. Might go find something to eat. Have a good night everyone.

Yeah well it was actually Ange who told me to ring up and the lady was very friendly! Im glad i got it back. It had a few goodies in it too....aswell as Coopers breakfast cereal and stuff so it wasnt cheap stuff!
Cath - Cooper loves playing Chaseys too!! I think its good...it wears them out!! Mind you it wouldnt be fun being pregnant lol.
Anyway the little man is fed and bathed and we are now winding down for the night..
Hey Fi, you know them bath stickers that you sent Cooper when he had his knock on the head??? Where did you get them from? Cooper loves his!! But i think he needs some more!

Hayley, I got them from Coles - Kmart have them too & I think I may also have seen them at Woolies. They're always on those hanging things they have in the aisles to tempt you into buying something you would never normally buy! Claire loves hers. There are 3 different ones. If you can't get them, just give me a hoy & I'll get some more for you.
Yes, I've left groceries behind as well! Only thing was, the time I did it, I didn't realise until a few days later when I went "Hang on, I'm sure I bought some of that the other day....." so I didn't really think I could ring them up & get it back! lol Thinking about it now, I probaby could have if I'd had my receipt because they would have known it was left behind by some idiot & not collected several days later! Mind you, it would have been far more embarrassing than calling up later the same day!
As for the spinning thing, Claire does it too. She does it all the time - drives me crazy because she's forever falling over & crashing into things! You have to be very careful not to mention the words "spin" "turn" or any variation because she will just launch straight into it!
Oh! Oh! That reminds me!! A couple of days ago, she was watching The Wiggles & started to do the actions to "Can you point your fingers & do the twist" and was also singing along!! Well, of course her words were not 100%, but she makes the right word sounds at the right time & sings along in tune! She can do that with a few songs - Row, row, row your boat, The Ants Go Marching & The Wheels on the Bus to name a few. Perhaps I've got a future "Australian Idol" on my hands!
OMG! It's just started to rain here!! When the sun went down, there wasn't a cloud in the sky!! Where did that come from??!
Morning everyone!
Happy news for the day is that Will slept til 7:20 this morning. :yelclap: DH has been trying to tell me that he went in to Will at 5:40 and tucked him back in but I didn't hear a thing and I think he is making it up! Either way he was asleep til 7:20.
LOL at you forgetting your shopping Hayley! I think we have all done something like that, I've had a sales assistant chase me out of the shop before.
Will's a spinner too. He thinks it is just hysterical but he hasn't worked out how to go the other way IYKWIM. He's also started doing actions to songs and this just cracks me up. With "heads, shoulders, knees and toes" he can manage his head and wave down near his toes and he does all these funny moves to "Incy Wincy spider" - it is so cute!
Oh - ouchie Cath! Poor Paddy. That sounds like a nasty mishap with the coathanger. Who would have thought? They can get into trouble with anything can't they? Just keep an eye on his cheek, I got an infection in mine when I cut the inside of it once and I had to get some antibiotics to help clear it up.
Hayley - 2 hours in the big bed is great! Where did he sleep last night? As I told you on MSn I can't believe he wanted to go in the big bed. He is going to be so easy to graduate out of the cot. Amazing.
Somehow I have managed to get Troy to agree to look after Will today while I go shopping at DFO. YAY! Better get going, have got stuff to do before I head out.
Morning
Hallelujah my Little Miss Sunshine has returned! :smiliedance: Immy has been so cr@ppy the last couple of days, can't pick her up, can't put her down, wants her poppy then throws her away, irrate, tired, WILL NOT EAT, grizzle grizzle grizzle. Yesterday was probably one of my MOST testing days EVER with her. I ended up picking her up and throwing her in her cot and closing the door because I just couldn't handle it anymore - and it was only 9am.:crying:
Library was a welcomed distraction although I gave her a dummy which I just HATE doing during the day but I'd already promised Nicola we'd go and I couldn't dissappoint her. Immy was good - she stuck by me and even let me "help" her dance to some of the songs and managed a grin or two under her dummy.
Took Nicola, Immy & Renee to Maccas for lunch which was total utter chaos due to school holidays and all Immy wanted to do was to play but there were too many bigger kids running around and I was worried they'd knock her over, so Renee took her on the slide a few times and we went home. Immy had a good nap then went to bed early and slept another 13 hours. Had some friends pop in for dinner, they picked Shane up from work on the way home and the hubby had a church meeting around the corner so the wife had tea and played with the kids. She's the one (Kylie) who's throwing me a baby shower - have I mentioned that?? I think it's so weird as it's my 4th and we really don't know what to do for it. Any suggestions???
WOW! I just got a call from Shane! He's just won a permanent level 6 position at work!!!!! :smiliedance: He's a level 5 in tax but he's been acting level 6 for nearly 2 years now and has always wanted to score a permanent and now he has!!!! OOOOOO his boss is going to be sooooooo unhappy! LOL! As soon as he told me my first words were - CR@P! What's Angela going to say?!! LOL! He's just gone to phone her now as she's in Melb for the week. The idea is that because she's the managing director for the area that she can push to have a permanent position made for him where he is as she doesn't want to lose him - that's why she keeps extending his higher duties! I'm so pleased for him as he's been working so hard on these applications and Hobart sucks because he could actually walk into a level EL1 (next level up again) anywhere on the mainland (but we don't want to move at the moment).
Anyway, I'm just waiting by the phone for his return call to find out what Angela said! LOL! Oh by the way, she's the darling boss who loaned us her car for 3 weeks when I had an accident just before Immy was born! She drove Shane to me (stuck in the middle of traffic at the approach to the Tasman Bridge) and then went home to get us her station wagon - bless her!
Sorry - I'm rambling now.
Hayles - I've done the same with the shopping however it wasn't my fault as that particular time we had another staff member packing the bags into the trolley as they were doing car service (they do that with people who use the trolleys with the baby capsule in it). Anyway, the guy missed two bags and I was so frustrated because it had a lot of the essentials but it'd been picked up, recorded in a book and replaced fresh the next day.
Fi - very cute about Claire and her singing - Immy does that too - just this morning she was up on her feet singing HA HA HA HA HA with her hands in the air to Hi-5! Hey, also when you're ready to do the whole big bed thing with Claire let me know - I can offer some tips or answer some questions. I've done it twice now and Immy won't be far away either.
Oh I also forgot to tell you - remember you mentioned Claire finally saying mummy? Immy has also just started about 2 weeks ago! She never really said it before and now each morning when I come downstairs I get greeted with a huge MUMMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Melts my heart!
Tan - OOOOOO how I envy you right now! I'm the QUEEN of blitzing DFO! The very first time Shane and I went there we'd gotten lost so we wasted precious shopping time and he even said to me the other day that he's NEVER seen me shop like that before! Or pack it either because we went straight to the airport from there and I was shoving things into places he never imagined possible! LMAO! The rental car was left with a pile of shoe boxes neatly packed with empty shopping bags because we couldn't find a rubbish bin big enough! LOL!!
Cath - how's Paddy today? See if you can rub a finger on the inside of his cheek just to see how much damage has been done. Like I said yesterday, there's probably not much you can do, he'll probably eat from one side of his mouth for a few days if it's sore. How'd the cake go yesterday? You got me all worked up now and I think I'll go make my orange cake with that orange/citrus icing recipe I gave you!!
Better go put this baby to bed - she's in the middle of throwing a MASSIVE tantie because Nicola is trying to play a game and Immy wants in but it's not for her.
Chat soon
xoxo
Shane just called back. Yep - Angela sure wasn't happy to lose him but happy for him at the same time.
She can't keep him at the moment due to funding (as always) and the person who's job she was going to place him in still hasn't won a promotion so has to stay. So at the moment Shane's moving downstairs to a new office which he's happy about for the moment - a change is good. The job isn't managerial - it's a technical job which means greater possibilities for higher duties and promotios, but Angela has vowed to get him back and told him not to get too comfortable and to make sure he still brings my nans greek biscuits up to her department! So Angela is on a mission and Shane's looking forward to a change. Wow, so overwhelming. Must cook a nice dinner to celebrate - off to pull out a roast lamb! :chef:

Hi guys..
Tan - Cooper slept in his cot last night. I said off to bed and he stopped and had a look at his big bed but then opted for the cot lol. So i was happy with that, mind you I do think im going to try and get him into a big bed - it would be much easier when we move for him to not have to adjust chaning from a cot to bed aswell as changing into a new room if that makes sense.. Have fun shopping - im going to sound like a total ning nong head but what is DFO? YaY for Will sleeping longer for you to Tan...i told you he would. Tan you know how you were after one of them sketch things for Will?? At coles in the toy isle you can get a thing that is similar..its just this bright coloured "slate" that you can wipe clean when he finishes drawing on it. They arent as good as the sketch things of course but they are only $2 - not a bad investment just to have in your bag if you are going on picnic or something to keep him occupied. Cooper got one with his showbag and he loves it.
Anna - Congrats for Shane and his new job! :yelclap:
Fi - I had a quick look for them stickers when i was shopping but didnt find them. Ill have a better look when i dont have Cooper with me.
We had a pretty busy morning..Have done the groceries and cleaned up, played and mowed the lawn lol. Now its off to get some lunch together because this boy is looking a little bit tired.
Anyway better go get some lunch organised. OH almost forget..today at breakfast time - When Cooper had finished his cereal he picked up the bowl and started licking it clean!! ROFL!
Talk soon...

Hey, wow Anna! Congrats to Shane about his promotion! That's fantastic! Sorry, can't give you any suggestions for baby showers - no-one threw me one for Owen (:( Just feeling sorry for myself!! :)) It should be OK though, even though you have 3 kids already, this will be your first boy, so I'm sure people will delight in buying you tiny little baby boy outfits etc.
Have fun at DFO Tan! I'm jealous!!
Hayley, just let me know if you can't find the stickers. I'm more than happy to get you some.
We just got back from taking Claire & Owen to the Dr. Owen had his 4-week check up & Claire her 18m needles. Actually, it was just the one needle - chicken pox. I thought it was 2, but apparently not - yay!! She was so good! She's now almost 80cm tall & 11kg. She cried a bit when she got the needle, but I had a special easter egg ready for her and she stopped crying as soon as she saw it! Thank god! I guess that's one good thing about them having needles at this age - more easily distracted than when they're younger/older. It was pretty easy actually. We then took her round to mum & dad's so she's over there now happily playing with her toys & reading her new books (mum bought a whole heap the other day for her) and teasing poor Vikey (their new pup)!
Owen has grown heaps!! He was born 3445g & 51cm, he's now 4790kg & 56cm!! Big boy!!
He is such a good boy! Not long ago, I popped him down for a nap tired, but wide awake. He just wriggled & grunted for a bit & he's now sound asleep!! I could never in a million years have done that with Claire at this age!!
OMG Hayles! I'm from TAS and know what DFO is! It's Direct Factory Outlet - a MASSIVE outlet store with millions of shops (well ok, not millions!) that are discount outlets! It's Hayley Heaven!!!
Good girl Claire for being brave for your needles! Good thinking Fi to have a special treat for her! My my how Owen is getting big! That's great that he's stacking it on, must be all that good mummy milk! ;)
Oh I'm so over Immy - Little Miss Sunshine didn't stick around long before Little Miss Grumble Bum made an entrance. I let her nap late this morning but now she's back to not eating and being a right little sh!t. I gave her a tap on the hand because she was throwing herself around while I was trying to feed her lunch and she burst out crying and I caught sight of all those eye teeth. Yup. All 4. Exactly what happened with the molars - she got all 4 at once. I knew it had to be them - multiple stinky nappies, off her food, grumpy etc. *sigh* Give me strength to get through the day. . . :banghead:

Anna - remember im a country girl - i didnt know the abbreviations for a Factory outlet. I do know what one is though im not that stupid..:o Better read up on my abbreviations so i dont feel like a ning nong next time. As for Immy...those teeth can be buggers. I guess you just gotta go with the flow. Them teeth are big suckers!!! Im so glad Cooper is over that stage!
Fi thats great that Claire was a good girl and that Owen is growing so big!!
I have had a rather bad afternoon with an over tired boy that took forever to go to sleep but im not going to whinge on here lol. (already had my whinge to Tan- Thanks Tan!)
Better go...got my neice and nephew coming over soon.
HAHA:laughing: Not a ning nong Hayles - we don't even have a DFO in Tassie and where I was brought up is as country as you can get!! I just love going to DFO on the mainland - Tassie sucks big time for shopping :(
Immy's still sleeping and so is Nicola and I've done bugger all, all day. Been trying to fix my msn because it picked up that stupid trojan virus. It didn't completely crash my msn like some other people but it stuffed up a bunch of things so after a complete system virus scan, identification & isolation of the virus, then complete uninstall and reinstall of msn I'm back up and running! :smiliedance:
Better get my lamb cooking soon and try to get enough veggies together for dinner, oh bring on pay day!
Well Shane's home, roast lamb is nearly ready and I'm drinking a (1/2 shot) midori & lemonade to celebrate his promotion!
Just another little bonus, he found out today that with the level of pay incriments that he's on (he's been doing this job for 2 years) and the current agreement with pay rises that his income will increase by $20K in 3 years! :D :smiliedance: That's so much for us and we're both shocked! Even Shane didn't know that the permanent would guarantee him that! Ok, off to serve dinner! Sorry for the boast - I'm just so proud of him!
Where's Lou & Ange? And Nat & Renee??

Hey Fi...dont worry about it. I would have probably done the same thing.
Geez Hayley - people are getting a bit excited about your upcoming birthday aren't they?
I checked out Cooper's video. That cracks me up that he was picking his nose. Will hasn't actually discovered that particular activity yet and we are not looking forward to when he does!
I've updated Will's website now so feel free to check it out.
Haven't really got anything to report today so hope you are all having a great one!
Hi all,
Hayley love that Cooper and Trent thing you have done -such a nice idea. Trent will be so happy with it.
Anna great news about Shane's promotion -extra money will be great with 4 kids.
Fi good work doing 2 things at once - women are such capable creatures. It still cracks me up that Dean is totally incapable of doing more than one thing at a time (or of even thinking about more than one thing at a time) when I can be doing several things at once. How's Owen's tummy going?
I'll have a look at Will's website in a minute Tan. Hope you have all setlled back in at home.
I've had a busy morning looking after my best friend's little boy Noah. I had a nasty experience with changing his stinky nappy which in my pregnant state I just couldn't cope with and my dry reaching ended up with me vomiting into my hands - horrible. The sensitivity to smell has never left since the very early pregnancy days. That was my first pregnancy sign and it is still very much with me -somehow changing another baby's nappy seemed much worse than changing my own baby's. Still feeling a bit sick from it.
Anyway just a quick check in -about to go off for a nap after a bad night's sleep. Chat soon.

Hi Tan!
Oooh Cath! That sounds awful! I've been very lucky to avoid morning sickness with my two, so I can imagine that having to put up with it at this stage must be awful for you! Gosh! July really isn't that far away now! How many weeks are you at the moment?
BTW, I think it's definitely a male thing - not being able to do more than one thing at once!! Probably why nature made females the mothers!!
Owen's tummy has been a bit better. The Brauer's seems to be working a treat. We gave him it for one day & he was much better & I've been thinking I might give him another lot today, as he was a little unsettled last night.
It was kinda nice though when I popped him into bed with me at about 5.30 this morning & he went straight to sleep. I kept looking down at this tiny little face, so calm & peaceful & absolutely beautiful!! There are some truly wonderful things about having a new baby in the house!
Claire's gone up with my dad & Dave to Marcoola to pick up a new radiator for Dave's car & they should be home soon, so I'd better get moving. Ciao ladies!!

Tan them photos are AMAZING!!!!!!!!! You are a great photographer and Troy for that matter (im guessing he is also the one taking pics) The one of your mum, you and Will is gorgeous! You looked awesome too at the wedding! Will is such a cutie~ he is going to break some hearts when he is older! I know alot of girls who would be extremely jealous seeing them pics of your brother getting married!!! (for you those of you that dont know Tans brother use to be my PE teacher and all the girls use to drool over him :o Sorry Tan hope i didnt embarrass you!)
Cath Poor you!!! Ohhhhh i so hope i dont get that feeling this time round!!
Anyway im off...I have a load of things to do today!
Oh another bargain of the day :p I had to go down to Telstra shop for trent and i walked passed this $2 shop which i hardley ever go in and out the front they had these racks of stickers (in CARS, Dora the explorer, Winnie the pooh, barbie etc etc) And you can actually stick them on your wall and they are completley removable and dont mark at all (have tried them they really dont mark) Anyway i got a whole sheet (they said you can stick them on tiles so i got them for the shower) $2.50!!! Great Bargain considering they are actually licensed characters!
Better get going. Im happy to say that Cooper went to bed without a fight this afternoon (after 2 days of being a totall ratbag with actually going to sleep for his day sleep) He opted for his cot though not his bed so he must have been really tired. God love him.
Talk soon. Hope everyone has a good afternoon

Oh Hayles!!! If you go back there again, could you get me some Dora ones??! They are the same price as the fish stickers, I think, so maybe I could get you the fish ones & we could do a swap? Whaddya reckon?!
Tan your photos are just simply amazing! You're an awesome photographer and the quality of your shots is so professional! Tan, do you have ANY idea how gorgeous you look (and your family) in those shots? Honestly! Stunning! I just love seeing your new pics! Stallards is having a Canon expo at the moment so I'm hoping to go down tomorrow and check some cameras out - I hear that you and Lou have the same model - can you tell me what that is? I think you've told me before but I can't remember - this time I promise to write it down! We're looking at upgrading to a digital SLR but don't know where to start - but we hear that there's a particular Canon model that's pretty good.
Tell me what stuff you've got for your camera or what you think is worth getting? Better yet - if you jump on msn today, buzz me if you have time for a chat!
Cath - you poor thing! I can't imagine anything worse than changing someone elses childs dirty nappy while 26 week pregnant! :barf: Gross for throwing up in your hands - not the best time for me to be eating a bowl of pasta while I read that!
Hope you get a good nap - I'm thinking of having a snooze on the couch myself.
Fi - I've used a few of those Brauer products over time and have always found them to be pretty good. They're in the same boat as Hylands Teething Relief - homeopathic / Natural medicines I think.
Now tell me Miss, how is it that you manage to jump online, post then disappear again completely undetected?! :detective:
OMG you're making me so desperate to hold my baby! I was saying the other day that I SO wish I could bottle that new baby smell so I could smell it all the time - I'm a little sad that this will be my last! I swear I'm not going to wash one of his baby blankets and I'll keep it in an air tight bag so I can just take a wiff every now and then! LOL!
Hey! I SOOO enjoyed my midouri and lemonade last night and I just discovered that I can add some grenadine to my lemonade and it's not alcoholic! Might just give me a little kick every now and then when I really would like a glass or two! LMAO! Oh dear I'm tragic.
Ok with that I'd better go see what these kids are doing. Time for naps me thinks!
Aww - you guys say such nice things! Although I must say I thought we all looked pretty good at the wedding too! LOL at Hayley and her comment about my brother though, he does look pretty good for his age I think.
As for the photos looking professional, much as it irks me I have to say that Troy toook a lot more of those than I did. He pretty much took all the wedding ones as I had the video camera. The park ones are either mine or his, but he has been getting into the photo thing a lot more than me lately. Somehow he seems to have more time on his hands. All this talk about photography reminds me that I need to clean our camera and our lenses - there is way too much red dust out there at Broken Hill!
I'll chat with you on MSN sometime Anna about the camera - Canon have updated their models since we got ours so they have a slightly different name, but I have always had Canon cameras and have been very happy with them. Their lenses etc are interchangable etc so if you ever update your camera your old lenses will fit the new one IYKWIM.
Fi - glad to hear that you have found something to give Owen some relief from his wind. It's awful when they are so little and obviously uncomfortable and you know that they are desperately wanting a sleep but they can't get comfy!
Cath, you poor thing and the stinky nappy. I have to admit that Will's have made my tummy turn at times let alone someone else's bub and I am not pregnant! I hope you feel better now, that is such an awful thing to have happened. Were the boys ok with you being sick? I have heard some funny stories about the things little ones do when Mum is sick - like patting her back etc!
Hey Anna - do you reckon Immy is still going to be having 2 naps a day when the boy arrives? I keep waiting for you to say that she is only having one a day but no - she is still having the 2!!! Two decent ones I might add. I am sure that I could get Will to have 2 a day if I wanted but they would be two short ones and I much prefer the one long one!
Oh - I think I forgot to say Congrats on Shane's promotion. That is great news and just in time for the bub. Woohoo!
Alright, better head off. I think I should play with Will, he's grumbling for attention!

HAHAHA look at this pic!
Cooper and Axel Playing (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/web-2.jpg)
I never quite got my nap -just as I was falling asleep Paddy woke up and wasn't going to go back to sleep -that happens so often (I wish I could fall asleep in 5 minutes like Dean - it always takes me at least half an hour). He had a 3 hour nap at my Mum's yesterday but has only been giving me an hour all week -what's with that!!
Oh well - I took him down to the local beach for an hour so hopefully that wore him out -here's a couple of photos -he had a lovely time finding "treasures" on the sand.

Tan I got no sympathy at all from the boys for being sick. Your photos are amazing as everyone has said - they look so professional and you looked great at the wedding. Will is such a cute little boy.
Anna good discovery with the grenadine and lemonade. Good luck with camera shopping.
Fi you have got me looking forward to having baby 2 in the house -I've really forgotten what it's like to have such a little one. Good to hear Owen's tummy is improving.
Good work with the stickers Hayley - they sound good.
Anyway I'm off again. Chat soon.
Cath
That's hilarious Hayley - that one would be a competition winner for sure. Paddy is standing here and just saw the photo and gave a loud "woof" when he saw Axel. That is seriously a funny dog you have - he's like a big soft toy

Cath - those photos of Paddy are CUTE!! He looks like such a happy kid! Oh and as for my dog....he is hillarious. He would do anything i wanted to!! He was treated liked a baby - i think thats why he is like he is...
Better go
Hi again,
Just got Dean to take a photo of me and Paddy and my 26 week pregnant belly as a record (and for you all to have a sticky beak at). Not a great photo of me-looking pretty fat and tired. Paddy looks cute though in his new cuddly sleep suit - aren't they so cute in those things (I saw photos of Cooper and Immy in them - does everyone else have them too?). Anyway Dean has gone off to get our healthy dinner of chicken and chips and I'm half way through a light beer (that will be do wonders for the weight I'm sure -must start that diet after baby 2 arrives). Have a good night everyone.

Cath you look awesome!!!! And yes i love them sleep suits!!! I have 2 now and Cooper loves wearing them! They are FANTASTIc!
Cath - I checked out your pics, what a cute little boy Paddy is. I just ove his dimples. As for you - to use a cliche, positively glowing! I think you look great.
LOL - Will has just come running into me to show me his hand, Troy has put bubbles on it from the washing up. So cute.
Last night was our turn with the babysitting thing so we headed off to an Italian restaurant about 20 minutes away. We've eaten there a few times in the past, they have great food but it always gives me a giggle. It is quite historical I think, been there for years and years and still has the original owners I think. The waiters and waitresses are middle aged and do corny things like give the women roses. I love going there and last night was no exception! Will was a good boy for our friends and went straight back to sleep when we got home and stayed that way til about 7:20. So it was all very good!
I hope you all have great weekends, we have a nice quiet one planned at this stage - although that could all change very quickly!
Hi guys, just a quick one from me at the moment as Maddi is currently still in her bonds wondersuit wearing gumboots and standing at the back door. Big chance she wants to go outside to play. I don't know about your bubbies but Maddi is a right little princess these days. She has quickly progressed to the terrible 2's and if she doesn't get what she wants right there and then there is hell to pay. Just like you Anna there are days when I want to just give her away. She has just run over and is grabbing at my hands and yelling no. She is really being persistent. OK I'm going to have to come back to this. ......Ok I've just put peppa pig on I think we're right for another 5 minutes.
Cath, your 26 week belly looks great. You don't look fat at all, purely radiant. And Paddy looks pretty spunky in his sleepsuit. I've been debating over wether to get another Grobag as Maddi has outgrown last winters ones. I think one of those suits might be better so she can run around in it? I love those animal prints on the wall too Cath!
Hayley that photo is hilarious. Axel should be one of those acting dogs that does ad's and stuff. He is so obedient.
Tan, I loved the photo's. You look so slim! How do you do it? Will is growing up so fast too. The photo's look fantastic. Were they taken with your new lens?
Ange, that dress is gorgeous. I bet all the fella's were giving you pinches on the bum that day. You are one hot mumma!
FI, you make havin #2 sound so easy. I get goosebumps everytime I read about Owen and how cuddly he is. Braurs! I forgot about that stuff. We also used that for Maddi but I found it didn't work for her. So many people raved about it I can't believe I didn't mention it to you :banghead: . Its great that you have found something that works for him. So many people never find a solution. Owen sounds like such a great sleeper that I live in hope of when and if we have #2 they will sleep great too as I've had my turn with a non-sleeping bubba.
Renee are you still around? How is the study going?
Well I better go, Peppa has just finished up and Maddi is back on my case yet again. OK we're going outside.
Talk soon
Oh I forgot to say to check out Maddi's website for her easter photo's. I've got to put some more photo's on of us at the beach tonight too.

Lou - Maddis photos are so cute as always - love her bunny suit! Cooper had one of those last year...Cooper also has his bossy pants on when he wants to do something...its now or he stands stomping his feet. As for Axel alot of people tell me i should be him into modelling and stuff for Adds...but I dont know how he would go unless i was there to do it. I think the bright lights might scare him..im happy to just keep him to myself...
Guys you are not going to believe my bargain of the day (yes another bargain...) we went to garage sales today...first time in AGES!
Ok My $2 Bargain - CLICK HERE!!!! (http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e53/hayleylea/car.jpg) yep $2 thats all!!
I also got a fisher price laugh and learn table (he already has one but i got it for when he is at grandmas house) it was $5
And I got a potty step thingy too. Its an all in one thing that has a little seat to go on the big toilet set and has a step - you know the ones...that was $5 too. Cooper is scared of the potty for some reason and i thought it was a good thing to have and for that price i thought it was pretty good.
Anyway i should get going. Cooper is tired.
Talk soon...
LOL Hayley - that's your bargain for the week!
So nice to hear from you Lou. Maddi looked like she had fun at Easter - she looks so snuggly in that bunny suit! If she is anything like Will though it's deceptive, most of the time he's not snuggly at all! Way too busy for that.
I think most of the pics were taken with the new lens. I will give details one day of what it is but basically it is a 70 -200mm lens at 2.8 and comes with image stabilising. It's bloody heavy and it cost a bomb. But we love it.
Ok - have a big cleaning bug today. So I'd better get back to it.
Bye!

14-04-2007, 11:17
Hey Tan...wanna send the cleaning bug over this way? I feel like doing nothing. Im sooo tired today. I had a **** sleep last night I tossed and turned all night.
Just put Cooper to bed. He has been a good boy considering we have been in the car and out of the car going to the garage sales. We got maccas for Breakfast this morning ( Cooper has his before we left which was a bowl of cereal) And i packed one of those up and gos just to see if he would drink it for "on the go" Anyway he drank the up and go while we were in the drive through  and then scoffed down 2 hash browns!!! And then just had a ham and cheese sandwhich for lunch!!! Hungry boy!! lol.
Anyway i probably should do something. Ive just put the boy down for a sleep...Trents gone to his cousins to help them do something at their house....ah cant be bothered i might lie on the lounge and do nothing
Hope everyone has a great weekend.
(oh and i forgot to mention that the house where we brought the $2 car from - it was the ladies bday and she was drinking champaigne (at 10 and she managed to have 2 glasses while we were there  So I dont think she cared how much she was selling stuff for!)

http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?t=83684 YAY i made it to the final again with the vote comp!! :smiliedance: Vote for me!! lol
I voted Hayley - very cute photo. That car is a huge bargain. I bought Maddi a car like that and I paid $80!!!! She loves it to death.
Hey guys I need to install some safety latches for our kitchen draws. Where do you think the cheapest place is to buy them from?
hayleylea
14-04-2007, 12:26
Lou - Coopers car doesnt have the boot or anything...a bit is broken off it but for $2 how can yo go wrong!?
As for the safety catches. I dont think they vary too much in price. Id probably check out Big W and Kmart they both have them...i think from memory Big W was cheaper though..
or check out ebay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SAFETY-FIRST-CABINET-AND-DRAWER-LATCHES-7-PACK-NEW_W0QQitemZ220038886696QQihZ012QQcategoryZ20434Q QrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem - not sure if this cheap or not?! but maybe worth having a look at.
I voted too Hayley. Great car for $2. I am bidding on a car thing that turns into a scooter as well on ebay for $8 at the moment -$2 is great!! Paddy is loving cars etc. at the moment and the little trike thing we bought him for Christmas is no good - too low to the ground.
Good to hear from you Lou. I just bought our kitchen safety stuff from Kmart. I think the prices are pretty much the same everywhere -Big W, Target etc. It's all pretty cheap I think. Is Maddi getting into stuff? Paddy can still get into some cupboards (just lock the really dangerous ones) and is always pulling stuff out. Love the Easter pictures. That bunny suit is fantastic (and so is the little pink jacket).
Your night out sounds good Tan. We haven't done that in ages -will have to book something in -getting a bit sick of being home every night really.
Anyway I'm off to take some photos of more stuff to sell on ebay. Chat soon.

Cath - Cooper and Paddy would get along great - he is a car freak!! I got him one when we were shopping the other day (1.97 hotwheels one) and he hasnt let it out of his site. He brooms it round all day...he even wanted to take it to bed last night - i told him he couldnt but we put it on the bed side table right next to him and sure enough this morning it was the first thing he wanted.
Funny! Mum and Dad have a collection of cars including this big yellow one that you push and it goes along by itself and makes a really loud noise which he loves. Mum bought Paddy home from her place the other day and I went out to the car and he was sitting in the carseat clutching this yellow car - Mum said he refused to put it down and it had to come with them. Paddy can say car but he has to say it twice so a car is a "car-car" -so cute. I've got to film him saying it before he drops one of the "cars" -I think it is so funny.
Hi everyone!
My you've been chatty today!
We've been out at my nans house fixing some taps, replacing washers and valves etc. Then I went to collect some laybys (YAY! :smiliedance: ) - have already bought WAY to much little boy stuff and have to return a couple of things tomorrow (have enough 000 undersuits and bought a waffle blanket but it's radiculously thin so think I'll swap it for a fleecy one).
Lou those pics of Maddi are just incredibly gorgeous as always! I love her fluffy bum in that bunny suit! LOL! My my she's a beautiful girl and she still has those mooncha cheeks!!!!!
Cath I don't remember the last time we saw a pic of you! You look awesome! I wouldn't be worrying too much about a diet - I'm much bigger than you (all over) and very likely to be shorter! Love Paddy's room by the way! Immy, Chelsea & Nicola all have sleep suits like that - I got theirs all from Target adn they just love them - they all wore theirs when we went camping
Hayles good work on the photo comp again! Tough competition this time - Kat's photo is great too - her little boy Oliver is just the cutest thing (she's a Hobart chicky!) and OMG you should see his eyes! Stunning!
Tan I'm so jealous of your night out! Sounds like you had heaps of fun and don't worry, I went to a restaurant like that in QLD once and thought it was great!
Well this morning all 3 girls were up bright and early, no thanks to Chelsea  . Beaut thing is that she can now lower Immy's cot and get her out safely so we can have a lay in! Bit of wishful thinking though as Immy got board and went to the gate at the bottom of the stairs (our room is upstairs) and started shaking it yelling MUMMY!!! DADDY!!!! OMG now I wish she couldn't say my name! LOL! But really, she has such a cute voice and I can't wait til she uses it more! You could ask her a question and she usually answers with a short, sharp MMM! She also has this funny little Charlie Chaplin head bobble thing happening at the moment when she means to say "Ah I'm beastly careless mum!" Oh gosh it's funny, I'll have to get it on film sometime!
Well my DH is just the sweetest - beware, gush session ahead! We were at Kmart today and they had a deal buy 2 hair products get a 3rd free so I grabbed 2 Herbal Essences conditioners and asked Shane if he needed anything. He wanted some shampoo so I grabbed him a H.E. shampoo and asked him to smell to see if it was ok (in case it was too girly for him!) He smelt it and said, no it's fine - I always like H.E. - it reminds me of you on our honeymoon! Valentine AWWWWW!!!!! I was shocked! I laughed and asked him how so?! He said he's always liked it when I use it and said it reminded me of the shower in our suite after I'd used it, then he could smell it all day! WELL! That does it then, there is NO OTHER shampoo/conditioner for me from now on! LOL!
As if things couldn't get any better, he decided (this morning) that we're having a date night tonight, that the kids are going to bed early and he's cooking dinner! I just borrowed nans pie maker so I'm going to stew some apples and make some fresh apple pastry pies for dessert - OMG I can't wait - they're SO YUMMY! Better get too it I guess, Immy will be up soon so I'm going to fix them a quick, easy, fast dinner and back to bed by 7:30 for all of them so we can curl up on the couch with a movie!
Have a good night!
xoxo
P.S. Cath - Immy says car-car too!
Also, I'm 28 weeks today girls! Only 12 to go!  How fast is that going to go?!

Cath how cute that Paddy says Carcar...
Anna - my competion in the photo comp is pretty tough but although i may be bias i do like my photo better! lol. Oh guys i dont mean to be pushy about the photo comp at all..if you dont want to vote for me then you can vote for someone else  :D Thats the whole point.
Anyway im off to get dinner organised.
Ciao
OMG Hayles! In one of my layby's were the matching sheet set to the little Noah's Ark cot quilt you found for me! I so can't wait to get it now - even though I won't be using it for months!
(No hurry though! :D )
Oh dear, Anna is fossicking through the little boy-clothes box again!
Aw Anna your getting so clucky for bubba blue to arrive. You made me laugh so much. I had images of you sitting in the middle of the room surrounded by all this boys stuff. Boy are you gonna be having a different experience with a boy Anna. Even the changing nappies and avoiding getting "shot" in the face is going to be a whole new experience.
Thanks for the info on the safety stuff. Maddi and I headed up to Big W and I bought a few things. When I got home I opened up the draw latches and realised you actually have to screw them into the draw. Ah what a hassle. I'm so lazy! I don't know how else I expected them to attach = derrrr. :o so that job can wait for tommorow. DH is in Melbourne all weekend with hockey again. So its just me and Maddi the Mighty. Its a constant battle lately between mother and daughter. But today she sat on the couch watching Oobi all by herself and was absolutely laughing her head off at the funny bits. It was really cute. My brother arrived halfway through and I got him to spy on Maddi while she was having her cackfest. He thought it was pretty funny too.
I've taught her to do eskimo kisses. I say "nose" and we rub noses. She thinks its so much fun.
The words are really coming along. She says all the names of the kids at creche and anyone who comes to the house too. I'm guessing that once Maddi starts talking I won't be able to shut her up.
Sam, our dog, has gone downhill again. I think we are coming to the end. He has stopped eating today and he is very lethargic. I was just beginning to think that the vets had made a mistake and he was going to be fine. Poor Sammy.
Anna, Shane is a real softie isnt he. I know what he means about smells though. They invoke memories. I love Miracle perfume because it reminds me of my honeymoon. Ah those were the days.
Not sure what we'll do tomorow. I know I need to stock up the freezer with some emergency meals for Maddi during work days. But I am really lacking in get up and go. Some inspirational recipes are in order I think.
Hi again,
Lou we bought the drawer latches too but were too lazy to put them on so we just used a big stick about 1.5 metres long and run that down through the handles so you can't open any of the drawers unless you remove the stick which Paddy can't do. If you have handles you can run something through you could try that as an easy option. Sorry to hear about poor Sam -so sad for you.
Anna how cute that Shane remembered which shampoo you used back then -there is no way Dean would remember stuff like that. Shouldn't complain though -I got dinner cooked for me last night too (spaghetti bolognaise -one of probably the 3 things that Dean can cook - he is capable of cooking more but just relies on me doing it I think).
Anyway I'd better go and force Dean out of bed (we've taken it in turns for a sleep in this weekend) and we have to head off to Bunnings for a new mop of some sort and some other stuff. We haven't mopped the new floorboards since they've been polished which is a bit bad and the mop we have is useless.
Have a good day everyone.
Cath
Aw Anna your getting so clucky for bubba blue to arrive. You made me laugh so much. I had images of you sitting in the middle of the room surrounded by all this boys stuff.
It's like you took a picture of me in my lounge room yesterday! I was literally sitting on the floor in front of a box of stuff and bags of layby stuff, having a snuggle with all the little jumpsuits then carefully folding them up and packing them away until it's time to wash them all!
I'm so sorry to hear about Sam, I hope that he doesn't suffer too much and that he enjoys some TLC and family time this week.
You know Lu - we have a LOT in common? Shane also bought me MIRACLE perfume although I'm out at the moment - but he bought me MIRACLE SO MAGIC but I can't wear much at the moment. Shane is a bit of a softy - I really was floored though with the honeymoon comment! Last night he cooked a WONDERFUL dinner - it was pork fillets served on a mango salsa (all herby and yummy) with sweet potato mash (that had oj in it!!) It was really different, we wouldn't usually eat stuff like that but it was good! Then for dessert, he knows that I just LOVE chocolate mousse but can't have the real stuff in pregnancy (raw eggs) and he accidentally came across the MOST SIMPLE recipe imaginable! Dark 70% cocoa Lindt chocolate, melt, then add vanilla essence and GOOD QUALITY vanilla yoghurt (he used rich, creamy Jalna yoghurt). Top with fresh raspberries and icing sugar. OM*G!!! SO smooth! SO rich! SO creamy! I'll have to get you all the measurements as it's just so simple. Next time we're going to use milk lindt chocolate so it's not so damn rich - I prayed and prayed for no heartburn and neither of us could finish it - it's in the fridge for tonight! :D
Well, off to mums for today. It's her birthday tomorrow so we're having lunch there today. The girls are all dressed up to the nines in their skirts and dresses and we've got a couple of things to do before we get there so we'd better move our butts.
Chat soon!
xoxo
Cath that's a great idea about the drawers! I have 3 huge banks of pot drawers that Immy now has the strength to open so I might just give that a go!
We don't take turns in sleeping in - once we're awake we're awake. Like I said the other day, last weekend, Chelsea learned to get Immy out of her cot safely so we do get a few mins extra "lay in" some mornings ;) :D
Good effort for Dean cooking by the way - hey I'll take anything that I don't have to cook myself!
How good does that chocolate mousse sound Anna. :chef: :p . Please do post that recipe - no don't! I'll be making it all the time and never losing weight  . What a lovely meal Shane cooked, he is pretty darn good isn't he. I cannot believe that we wear the same perfume!!! That is so funny. I love the stuff. But am running low so will have to get some more soon.
Cath that idea about the stick sounds good. Unfortunately our handles aren't that type but I am looking to update them. So that might be my inspiration to get going with that project. Maddi is forever opening the draws and then jamming her fingers in them and squealing.
I'm so jealous that Chelsea can get Immy out of the cot unaided. I was thinking of that this morning when Maddi woke at 6am and demanded to be up and out there and then. I tried ignoring her but there's only so much my ears can take. Once our carpet get laid in the bedrooms I'm going to attempt putting Maddi in her own room. Her sleeping is fantastic at the moment. I put her in her cot at night now and walk straight out and she is out like a light. No more waiting in the room until she falls asleep.
I wonder how Hayley is doing in Sydney today? Its today your in Sydney isn't it Hayley?
Guys I was wondering what your opinion is on those harness things for kids? You know where you can have a strap that attaches to their wrist or clips onto a back harness. Just asking because I'm thinking about getting Maddi one as these days she hates going in the pram, refuses to hold my hand and takes off into the crowd.
Hey Lou I was in Baby Bunting the other day and saw the cutest little backpacks that are monkeys, cows, pigs etc. that are actually harnesses -you hang on to the monkeys tail etc. I think they are a great idea and thinking I might have to get one when baby 2 arrives because Paddy is a runner in shops and is getting sick of the pram too. I think they were about $30. Better than having them run onto a road or something. Great to hear Maddi is going to sleep so well -good girl!!
Anna that chocolate dessert sounds unreal. It's annoying you can't have chocolate mousse in pregnancy isn't it? I will be making up a big batch when I get home with baby 2 (to keep my strength up for breastfeeding of course). In the meantime definitely give us the measurements for the yummy sounding alternative.

I have one of those backpacks, Cath. It's a puppy one (I was telling everyone it was the monkey one, but turns out it was a puppy! :o) Claire loves it!
OK, just quickly (geez you lot can chat!! Took all my time just to catch up, no I have no time to post!!)
Lou, I wanted to say that with the drawer latch thing, we were the same - we've had a tonne of all different ones for months & months, but have either been too lazy to put them on, or they screw in (not really an option, considering we're renting). So I found these ones by Dream Baby that stick on & they are really good. They were quite cheap too, from memory, I'm pretty sure I got them at Kmart. They stick to the side of the drawers though, so you need to have a gap on one side (even if it's only a really small gap - ours is). When I say they stick to the side, they are like an 'L' shape and one part goes on the side & the other sticks to the front. We had to put them on, because like Maddi, Claire was forever slamming her fingers in the drawers.
OK, gotta go - Owen needs mummy!!
MrsMiggins
15-04-2007, 11:40
One-handed typing now, but I forgot to mention that Owen has started deliberately smiling!!! :D
Yesterday I was smiling down at him after a feed & he smiled back! So I kept smiling & gurgling at him & every time I did it, he smiled back!!
Morning ladies!
Fi - how beautiful that Owen has started smiling for you. Those early smiles are just fantastic. So soon we forget how special they are.
That's cute that the little ones say "car-car". Will doesn't do that - it's just "car" - and many, many times throughout the day. He's a real boy. Car and ball!
I never did the lock thing on the drawers either, bought them and never installed them. Thankfully Will isn't too bad with the drawers, he doesn't open the ones he is not supposed to very often and he rarely jams his fingers. I think he learnt that pretty quickly.
We were very blessed parents this morning. Will was chirping very loudly in his cot this morning at 6:40 and I was feeling very sleepy after a late night so I went in and gave him his teddy and his dummy back and told him it was still sleep time. I really thought I would probably get 10 or 15 minutes more peace but nope - no noise for over another hour! He didn't get up til 7:45!!! Woohoo! I couldn't believe my luck. LOL
Lou - good luck with getting Maddi into her own room again. I think she will probably settle in fairly quickly seeing as she has made such great gains with her sleep. It's just so lovely to hear that she is doing so well. All your persistence really paid off.
Well - some hours later I have returned to finish my post. Men - useless as tits on a bull as my Dad would say. I won't bother going into details but I seriously wonder what Troy would do without me sometimes!
Hm and despite Will's angelic start to the day he has decided to be very naughty this morning. I think he has finally worked out how to throw his own version of a tantrum. It's fairly short lived but geez it is annoying.
Alright, better post this before he destroys something, today the throwing is back with a vengeance.

Fi - thats so cute that Owen has started smiling - I think as a new born thats the first really rewarding thing. When no matter how many times they get you up of a night they can smile that toothless grin at you and it makes your heart melt and makes it all worth while.
Tan - HOORAY for the sleep in...my little boy was in bed till 8 too which was great.
We have spent the morning at the park with My mum, Sister, her kids and my brothers boy. Cooper had a ball. We only just got home and he has been running around non stop for 3 hours. I have just popped him into bed im hoping he will have a good sleep :D He also got given a rocking horse today from Zack (my nephew) he thinks its wonderfull and thought he might like to take it to bed with him  I explained to him he couldnt and he was OK but kept looking back lovingly at the rocking horse! So cute!
Lou - went well in sydney. It was only a quick trip to pick up what we had to and then back home again...We tried out our new navigator system and it worked Excellent!
Anyway gotta go.

You're lucky Tan!! I had both mine wake up at 6.30, and Dave is away for the day, so I had to get them both up!
I'm bloody tired though, as Owen was a bit unsettled last night. He only woke twice, I think (sleep deprived brain not working!!) but he was a bit restless in his sleep, so he kept me awake from about 2.30 this morning! Considering I only went to sleep about 11.30, I'm knackered today!!
And Claire didn't go to sleep til about 10.30 or so, so she was tired this morning too (no-one to blame but herself! *grumbles cantankerously* 6.30 am wake-up!!!) She fell sound asleep on the lounge room floor at 11.30 so I'm hoping they'll both have a good sleep now. We have (yet another) Dr's appt at 4pm. I've had a bad cough & sore throat for a few days now & Claire seems to have picked it up as well.
Tan, I sure hope the tantrums today are short-lived!! Oh, I have a little tip for you!! See if this works! The other day, Claire was being very naughty & completely ignoring me when I kept asking her to do something. I was getting really frustrated, so I pretended to cry. Well!!! Claire instantly stopped what she was doing, got all upset and came running over to me! She wrapped her arms around my neck and gave me a big cuddle! My heart just melted, because she is not at all a cuddly child & will often resist it if you try to cuddle her!
Next I said to her, "Mummy's sad. When you don't do as you're told, it makes Mummy sad, and when I'm sad, I cry." Since then, I've given the fake crying a couple of goes & it's worked a treat each time! Now, when she's being naughty I only have to say "You're making mummy sad" and she stops! Hmmm..... I wonder how long it'll last?!!! :detective:

Fi - the pretend cry works well here too! Cooper immediatley stops being naughty or throwing tantrums and runs over for a cuddles and then is good as gold.
I don't think the pretend cry would work here - Will tends to ignore other kids when they cry and I did do it once last week and he just walked off! I think he is just having one of those days. I guess he can't be good all the time - although don't we all wish they would be!
Oh Fi - I hope you get some good sleep tonight. Is Owen in your room? Is that why his stirring is bothering you so much? Or is it just that new Mum, wake up at every little grunt and grumble thing? I am going to sound so slack here but Will spent the first two nights at home just outside our bedroom door and then was banished to his own room forever after because geez he was noisy! It drove us crazy. Grunting and wiggling, phantom cries!
Hayley - did you go to Sydney to pick up that merry go round? Woohoo if you did - Cooper is going to love it!
I was thinking today that I guess when you have more than one kid after the first 6-9 months or so they can play together a bit. How good would that be? (Anna - I know you already know that). Someone else to play with Will - that's gotta be cool. Something to think about. (Anna- don't you dare spoil my fantasies or there will never be another bub around here).
I really have to go - I just realised that my files that were supposed to be couriered last Friday still aren't here and I should find out where the hell they ARE!
Hi all,
Fi how beautiful that Owen has started smiling -such a precious thing. I still remember the exact moment when Paddy first smiled at me. Hope you don't get too sick -not what you need at all. How's Claire coping these days sharing her Mum? Is she getting used to having a brother?
Tan that is great that Will went back to sleep for you -what a good boy -Paddy just would have yelled for another hour. Aren't the tantrums hilarious (well at this stage I find them hilarious). Paddy is getting them down to a fine art.
Hayley hope Cooper had a big sleep for you after his busy morning.
Anyway nothing much to report here. Just checking in while I wait to see if I win some winter stuff for baby 2 from ebay. I've realised all the small stuff we have probably isn't going to quite warm enough for the new little man and I'd better get a few warm things. Chat soon.

Tan- Nah we went to pick up some laundry cupboards for our house. We pick up the merry-go-round next week (they were away for the school holidays) Cooper will love it! Although its going out at our new house so he will have to wait till we get his play area up and running.
Cath - Cooper slept till after 3 so he was tuckered out in deed! He was obviously hungry after his busy day playing with his cousins because he ate so much for Tea. I was being lazy today (i feel a bit sick) So we got pizza for dinner. You ready to hear what Cooper ate?? 2 peices of cheesy garlic bread, 2 bits of pizza and a caramel brownie!!! Thats alot for a little boy and he was asking for more at the end of it lol.
He is in the shower now ill see if he is full when he gets out :D
Anyway better be off. Talk soon

*giggle!* :D Oh Tan! You make me laugh!
No spoiling of fantasies here! Let's just put it this way. If I didn't have (generally) good kids, and if they didn't bugger off and leave mummy alone for 5 mins here and there, we wouldn't be having 4! Lately I've been getting a LOT of comments from people based on the number of kids I have in tow and one girl told me today that she has 3 sisters and it was wonderful growing up with siblings so close - but she said the best part was when they'd all left high school and that's when they got really close. When I told her that Chelsea was 5, she said to me - oh piece of pie! They'll just love each other after high school!
The only thing I'll tell you though is that the benefits of HAVING a sibling FOR a sibling don't really show until #2 is about 12+ months old and can really interact with #1. Before then, they're just a blob that lays around all day and demands mummy's attention!
Immy is really at the age now where she's interacting with the older two well and they'll all disappear into the play room and watch a movie for an hour no fuss! VERY good photo opportunity! I'll show you some time!
Oh Cool - thanks Anna! That was exactly what I was thinking. LOL.
Oh boy - I could have given Will away today. Not sure what's up although given Anna's description of Immy last week it could be those wretched teeth. He just got progressively worse as the day went on today and just cried through dinner and would only eat fruit with jelly in the end. Very, very unusual for my little piglet. He has gone off to bed quite happily though so here's hoping that a good sleep will sort him out!
We are lazy here tonight too - Troy has just gone off for fish and chips. After Will's crying session I just looked at Troy and said "can we just have takeaway?". No arguments were forthcoming, I must have looked desperate!
Ooh yes- I forgot to say that I hope Fi isn't too unwell. She doesn't need that right now at all!
Happy e-baying Cath. I don't know how you guys look for kids clothes on e-bay. I don't have the patience!
Where is Ange and Renee? Anyone else I have forgotten to mention?
