 My 8month has 4 breast feeds a day and 3 meals of solids. I do it in this order - 7am breast 8am solids 11am breast 12 noon solids 3pm breast (or 4 if she sleeps for longer) 5pm solids 7pm breast. My dilema is when do I offer the solids before the breast? And when do I know to drop the 3pm feed and offer solids then? I'm a first time mum and all of this is confusing and concerning me as I'm returning to work in about 6 weeks. For breakfast she has half a weetbik and quarter of a banana, lunch is 2-3 tablespoons of fruit and yoghurt or avacado, dinner is 2-3 tablespoons of meat/vegies with some finger food fruit and 2 tablespoons of fruit and custard.

Hi Annasmum :)
Sounds like you're doing a great job. Kids normaly ask for more solids when they want it. She will be kicking her legs and licking her lips or even grizzeling for more food. She may end up wanting a few more spoonsfull. Once this starts, you will find she is less interested in all of the breastfeeds.
8 months is still too young to cut out the 4th feed though. Usually at 10 months they go to 3 breastfeeds and by 12 months 2 breastfeeds. All kids are different, so you just need to play it by ear. If you want to drop a feed, you will need to replace it with more solids, or formula. (I would personaly go for more solids, or some pear juice ;) )
Good luck!

I have to agree with mummycloud as it seems like all is going well & what your doing is pretty much what i have done except for the bf part heh. If your happy with how bubs is going & bubs is also dont stress !
Bubs will definately let you know when she wants more ( mine always has thats for sure ! ).
Stick with how your going for now & anyways bubs might change what she wants just before you start work anyways who knows but as i said before if your both happy why change it ?
:)
