Smelly PUL

As the thread title suggests, my PUL covers and my GK's smell. The hemp inserts are fine.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

No help, just a pitty post here. I noticed that mine smell too. Luckily MJ only wears them at night now but they smell really bad.

1/2 a cup in bicarb soda in the wash (full load) and an extra rinse cycle. Failing that, a strip wash :D

I wash my PUL covers with normal washing, so they get washed with a full scoop of washing powder rather than the half scoop I wash nappies in. Mine don't smell anymore, they were pretty bad when I was washing them with the nappies. Oh, and they are always dried in the sun...it's always sunny in Bris so I make the most of it :D

I had the same problem early on. I haven't done the bicarb wash - instead I found that acold rinse cycle in the machine before a hot wash seemed to make the difference. (Before that I was just rinsing under the tap then washing). I know that Tickle's advice is to leave them out on the line for an extra half day to let them air a bit more.
