bubs has silent reflux and she is primarily breast feed - with a comp feed after, of about 30-50mls of thickened formula... or ebm!!

sometimes during the feed she will fuss on the breast but she will willingly take the other breast - i still have milk in the first breast but she refuses to continue on that side -- after only 5 mins
why is she doing this - and then she will start fussing on the second breast and still milk there - then she is comp't with a thickened mixture - due to peadiatricians advice -

is she suffering reflux during the feed - or is this normal for breastfeeding babies???

Interesting!!! Isn't the milk in the first part of the bf thicker and creamier??? And the second half thinner and to quench babies thirst????

Maybe bf first, comp, then give her the same breast again???

Try football hold on the breast she's giving up on, when she gives up on it.

It might be a positional/comfort thing.

DS had times like this, and I found it helped.

I'm with Aardvark! Try a football hold on that breast, my DD did this for a while and when held in football hold she willing took a full feed, so it must have been a positional thing??? She suffers reflux too, but I really don't think that had anything to do with the refusal....

thanks for your input - i have tried the football position and she will suckle for a little while, sometimes she will get a second let down but most of the time she seems to give up - too much work ???

i wonder whether she may just be getting lazy and not wanting to work for the milk ??/
