Just when I find a great deal, I have to add another $5 on top to get it to my house:banghead: Arrrgh!

Don't be afraid to ask for cheaper postage. I've done this & had it work a few times. But sometimes it does cost $5. Or try & buy more than one thing from that seller.
I know it sucks but it's all part of the chase for that elusive bargain

yeah just for one, I might wait til I can get more than one. So frustrating, I wish there was a store or somewhere we could pick them up

Which state are you in? And what nappy are you looking at?

I'm in NSW, I just found a Tot Bots for $14 and wanted to try it out. Not sure if it's really worth it or if I should try to get a bamboo one?

im guessing if you lived near one of the places that sells them (the owner of the site) they would allow you to pick it up, less hassles for them having to post it too.
But in saying that, you'd probably spend more then $5 driving there to get the nappy with the fuel prices these days

 let us know how they turn out for you!!
The way I see it, $19 for a good brand, new nappy, including postage is an absolute bargain. Part and parcel with the convenience of buying online. Much easier than driving somewhere with child, finding a car park and looking in a shop that doesn't have what you want or has a mark up that is ridiculous compared with online.
I hope the general gripe from people about postage is with Australia post for having such high postage prices??
If you ask about cheaper postage, it's likely to only be cheaper than $5 (by about $1) if you live in a reasonable radius of the seller and buy something less than 250-500g. But it does mean the seller has to make more effort getting that $1 cheaper postage than if they were using a pre paid satchel. $5 is a good flat rate.
When I was selling stuff, I used to deliver lots of orders personally and waive postage costs - ended up costing a fortune in petrol, time and effort. Posting, while still hard work to manage with a toddler, was much more efficient for me. But hey, if a customer would pick up the order, I was thrilled, as it saved us all a lot of hassle.
Glad you found some tots to try out :) nice and cheap.
Nurture nappies has a great trial pack which includes both sorts of tots bots and some other good nappies incl ittiAIO. It is $160 which sounds a lot but includes postage. It might be good to work towards (maybe they do layby). Its probably more economical in the end. I agree that if you only buy one nappy and add $5 it isn't so economical. Much better if you buy more from one place & sometimes they even have a deal where if you spend over a certain amt postage is included. Was a new blessing one of those? I think over $50 and they sell BBBs.

I thought it sounded like a good price, but I'm still quite tentative in this MCN thing until I know how the nappy will perform for us. I might go back and get some of those if the 2nd ones are good.

I'll check that out, but as I said, I'd prefer to try 1 or 2 before committing, so I end up spending more in postage:o

they still have free postage but have sold out of BBBs, I'm keeping an eye on that site:yes:
