I'm Fiona. I'm 32, live on QLD's beautiful Sunshine Coast and am currently a SAHM. DH & I have a beautiful little girl - Claire, born in October 2005 and now Owen, born in March 2007.

I came across Bub Hub when I was pregnant with Claire, but I didn't get too involved with the forums. When Claire was about 3 months old, I rediscovered Bub Hub, got thoroughly addicted to the forums & all the great people here, and now rarely a day goes by where I'm not on here! I love it! When I'm not bubhubbing, I love reading, craft, wine, and of course doing anything at all with Claire & Owen!



My earliest memory is.... standing in the lounge room of our house in Sydney, watching my mum setting the table for dinner. I must have only been very young, as we left that house before I turned 2!

I wish I had.... my own house!

My happiest memory is.... standing in our bathroom at 5 am on my 29th birthday and looking down on that HPT stick and finally seeing 2 lines - after more than 2 years of trying!!

My most humiliating moment was.... Oh gee....! There have been millions!!! There's probably more than a few involving office Xmas parties & too much alcohol!! :o

My last meal would be.... A big bowl of the lobster bisque from The Waterfront Restaurant at The Rocks in Sydney, followed by Salt & Pepper Prawns from The House of Guang Xhou in Sydney's China Town and my Grandma's Christmas Pudding & brandy custard for dessert.

When I was a child I wanted to.... be an actress!

It's not fashionable but I love.... ELO - well any daggy 70's/80's music really!!

The last big belly laugh I had was.... at DD coming out with some comment far too mature for her age!

If I were a car I'd be.... a big, dusty family wagon with a few big dents in the side!!!

If I wasn't me I'd like to be.... One of The Wiggles - what a great living; making squillions by entertaining & educating children!!

Are you married, partnered or single?
Married for nearly 8 years.

What sort of birth did you have?
Nothing at all like what I expected - either time!!! DD was an elective c/s after finding out I had placenta praevia & also that she was in a very awkward breech position. DS was to be a VBAC, but after 4 days of non-progressive labour, he ended up being born by emergency c/s.

Preferred parenting style?
I can't say I buy much into styles as such. If it's one thing I've learned since becoming a parent, it's that you just do whatever works - whatever gets you through the day (or the night, in my sleepless son's case!!)

Do you have brothers and sisters?
Two brothers. One older, one younger. Interestingly, there is the same age gap between my older brother & me as there is between my two kids - almost to the day!

Are they older or younger than you?
(Minus one point for Fiona for not reading the questions ahead!)

Have you ever met a famous person?
We were on the same plane as Marcus Graham on the way back from our honeymoon in Hawaii! (Remember Wheels from E-Street?! :D)

What countries have you visited?
I've travelled extensively & also lived in the USA, I've been to Scotland & England, Tahiti, Vanuatu & several other South Pacific Islands.

What do you do on Sundays?
Much the same as any other day, only I have to be more organised, as the supermarket closes earlier!! :p No such thing as holidays or weekends in our house!

What kind of people do you not like?
Arrogant people!

Who has had the most influence in your life?
Wow!! Tough one!!

I'd say my mum has probably been the single biggest influence. She is a very intelligent, very independant, very driven woman.

Would you like to be famous?
LOL The only thing I ever wanted to be growing up was an actress!! So yeah, you could say that!!!

How many different towns or cities have you lived in?
Oh gosh!!! I don't even know if I could hazard a guess!!! Give me a few minutes.......... 10, I think?

Which do you prefer, sunrises or sunsets? Sunsets. Sunrises come far too early here in no-daylight-savings-QLD~~~

What was the last book you read?
I've been reading Diana Gabaldon's A Breath of Snow & Ashes for about a year now!!! Still not even half way through!! I borrowed it from my mother, I'm sure she probably wants it back soon!!

What's your favorite food?
Oh! So hard to choose!!! With a gun to my head, I'd say seafood, but there is just so much good stuff to choose from!!

Do you live in a house or an apartment/flat or other?
In a house.

What are your hobbies?
I think the internet pretty much takes up all my spare time now, but in a former (read: pre-child!) life, I enjoyed reading, sewing & general crafty things. I'm sure I'll get back there one day soon!

What's something you do well?
Cook. Sing.

Which sports do you like to watch/play?
My DH will call me "un-Australian" but I can't lay claim to being in love with any sport really! I love going to the gym and I will watch the Rugby League State of Origin if I have an interesting group of people to watch it with.

Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person? Both really! I'm an insomniac night owl who's always up with the birds!!!

What is your motto?
"That which does not kill us, only makes us stronger" I believe this whole-heartedly & it constantly bears remembering!
