View Full Version : Ewww - Little Squirt splashback issues

DS filled his nappy beyond belief tonight - it was just awful. Anyway, I changed him and then used the Little Squirt, and I ended up with wet toilet walls and a wet floor:banghead: . Thankfully the poo went straight down the loo, but I just can't seem to control the spray properly. The water bounces off the nappy and just sprays everything! Am I doing something wrong? I'm seriously thinking about using it in the laundry into a bucket and then flushing the contents of the bucket! It would save me mopping my floor and cleaning my toilet after disposing of nappy contents!

I'm thinking you are a n00b to the little squirt eh ?
It does take a while to get use to. Eww bad visions back in the day of splash backs when i first started out, nasty! Anyway, turn the pressure down a little until you get the hang of using it and mastering it so that splash backs are no longer an issue. There is a 'knack' to it.
:barf: Happy squirting!

Oh Robyn I can totally hear you :barf: YOu are lucky you didn't WEAR the poop yourself lol!!
Ask your dh to turn the toilet water pressure down a little. It might help....

If you turn the tap on your toilet down, it will lower the pressure. You can also make the trigger looser on the LS handle. I try and hold the nappy really close to the side of the bowl and leave the seat down to try an minimise the space it can escape. But I still get some splash back occasionally, but it's only water, and still much better then trying to rinse poo in my laundry sink :barf:

Thanks everyone!
Lauren - I am new to the Little Squirt:laughing: , and despite my lack of control over it at the moment, I still much prefer it to when I was scraping the poo out using toilet paper! It's good to know I'll get better at it.
Beck - I am VERY grateful for being spared actual POO splashback. Ew. :barf:
Good idea about the loo seat HoopDeeHoo. I always lifted it thinking that it would keep the seat cleaner, but I'd prefer the seat copped it rather than me or the walls!!
I have the same problem, im still trying to master the technique.
Yep, turn the pressure down and practice getting the angle just right! It takes a little while...

Derr... I never thought to turn the tap down to reduce pressure!! :o
And we've had BIG splashback issues! I do find that leaving the seat down does help a fair bit, though

I seem to have got the technique figured now, but not poor DH, you should hear him moaning when he rinses a nappy!!!! (but hey, at least he does it!)
