Okay so two of my Hemparoo's are brown. Not sure why? I do dry pail, but wash every single night.

I have 3 Hemparoos and 2 turn brown. I use these in my Dreamytimes overnight. If I use a hemparoo during the day this doesn't happen

The brown comes out when washing (and no its not a poo stain, it is definatley wee because the whole thing is brown) but it is still discoloured. The sun won't bleach it out either, I tried that today.

Could it be that she is teething and her wee is very strong?

Should I boil them? I bought them last september second hand and use them every day.

TIA :D

hemp sometimes goes brown, looks sort of like a brown shadow? I find it happens if I don't wash the nappy bucket out for awhile. Sort of looks yuck but don't worry about it.

I have some very brown hemp at the moment and my DD is teething - I think it's definitely related, but it also happens if you leave it too long before washing. So long as it smells clean when it comes out of the wash I wouldn't worry about it - it will eventually come good :)

They do eventually go a brownish colour but that doesn't mean that there's anything wrong with them. I wash mine daily, never dry pail anymore. Just pop them in the washing machine until there's a full load and having 4 kids it doesn't take long, believe me. So they aren't sitting in the wash for very long.

The slight discolouration is the hemp 'ageing' me thinks.

Have you used Panadol at all?

Oooo does panadol have something to do with it? We've been using it alot!

It's just a theory at this point - some people think that either the colouring or the sweetener in Panadol can stain nappies (a brown or grey discolouration), and there are a few others chiming in saying they were blaming "teething poo" or "teething wee" when actually they had been giving Panadol for the pain.

Meanwhile, try giving your nappies a rinse before dry-pailing?
