when you wrap your baby, do you put their arms to their sides, on their stomachs, or where ever they kind of go themselves?
also do you wrap them just at night? or all of their sleeps?

anyone? i dont want to hurt his arms putting them where they shouldnt be....
Usually I just put her arms on the sides, but she always manages to get them out!
I only wrap at night as I find during the day she goes to sleep no worries!

i used to wrap spencer for all sleeps up until he was about 5 or 6 months old. I wrapped him by lying him on the wrap and then putting one arm down by his side and wrapping that arm and then putting the other arm down and wrapping that one and then flipping the bottom of the wrap under him. does that make sense? then i put him on his back. by the time he had started flipping himself over to his tummy, i had stopped wrapping him.

I kinda folded my DS's arms across his chest but I had to wrap him tightly otherwise he would wriggle them out.
And I wrapped him for EVERY sleep- he learnt that wrapping meant sleep- it was like a drug, his eyes would droop as soon as he was wrapped. So by wrapping for every sleep there was no confused messages.

When DS was younger I used to wrap his arms down.. but as he grew stronger he would wriggle his way out. So now I wrap him so that his hands are wrapped up near his shoulders as babies find it comforting when the can nibble (for want of a better word) on their hands or so our clinic nurse told us.
I wrap him for every sleep they soon learn that being wrapped means sleep time. Also I don't think you will hurt him by wrapping his arms.. I think he would let you know if he really didn't like it.:)

When DD was wrapped (until 3 months) she was wrapped for every sleep.
I use to fold the top of the muslin over about 10-15cm lay her down in the middle, tuck one hand under the folded secton then wrap that side around her body and under her bum, then do the same with the other side. Once the wrap was around her it kinda brought her hand/arms across her chest.
This was what I was shown at the hospital and how all my girlfriends were doing it too.
