I'ts been 7 years ago I had my last baby and I'm unsure what to do as ,
My newborn little Man loves to sleep alot and sometimes he goes for so long I feel that I should wake him to give him a bottle and a nappy change , should I?
sometimes i do a pit stop to change him while he is sleeping as he has filled up he's nappy with lot's of peeeeee , it's great he sleeps but a bit to much I know when they sleep they grow well my little man is going to be mighty big  .

When you say he sleeps for long, how long are we talking? And at what time of day....
My theory has always been, let them sleep :p But I guess it really depends on how long & what time of day it is.

So long as he is gain the right amount of weight then all is good.

hi there ruby_slippers - i guess the one thing to consider is dehydration. if, as wa mum says, he's putting on weight and his nappies are wet then don't worry too much.
as you know, things will change somewhere along the line.
Some books will tell you to wake them to keep them on a routine but I think if it's at night time don't even think about it!!! Let him sleep.

i would say.. so long as he is gaining the weight he is needing. and he is sleeping well at night for you.... then "never wake a sleeping baby"
my new born is a very sleepy boy, compared to his older brother. and sometimes i worry, but also now wonder if that is how babies are meant to be, and his brother was awake too much.
but i just let him be.. he must need it :)
When my DS was a newborn his schedule was mixed up. Slept lots during the day and little naps at night lol.
I never let him sleep for more than 5hrs without a feed when he was newborn. I think doing that also helped him get into the routine of day/night as well.
