You get what you pay for kristi. If you want to spend $5 you may find you spend it 3 times to keep replaceing covers which are basically rubbish. You could have had a cover which lasted through 3 children, though it cose $25 at the start.
Its entirely up to you though, if you are happy with the $5 covers then thats great.:D
What Stellarella said
You may think they are exy but they are worth it.
It does get frustrating as a WAHM that people want something for nothing. If you want something special , unique that works, then its value for money.
I suspect the Target ones are PVC rather than PUL.
Are you exclusively looking for PUL or would fleece be another option for you?
For $15 or less in PUL you can get Beehinds PUL wraps, Bummis SWW, Bummis originals... probably more if I went looking for them.
Fleece covers, Very Baby up to a medium is under $15, and range up to $20 for the larger sizes, and there's other fleece covers out there that are under $15.
the PUL print covers are a bit more expensive, but there are definately plain cheap options out there ;)

Wool covers are great and not very expensive when you think about how well they work.
They don't have to be washed very often, just aired between changes and are so cute!
Great if you can knit, I have made one with 2 balls of wool for a total of $5 - ok, the budget wool cause I am still learning, but definitely does the job. If you can't knit, a few wahm make some gorgeous ones which I think are great value!
Good point Donna- can you knit? If so for less than $10 you can get the most effective cover - it is also natural and breathable.

I'd reccommend Bummis Whisper Wraps. They're priced between $15-$17 but darlingsdownunder.com.au have a deal where you can get 4 for $61.00 which I think is really reasonable. Maybe give them a go.

Yep, what Jessie said, BWW are noice as are the BBpul, I have about 5 of those, lol.... I also have a BB wool wrap, not too sure on that one though for some reason.
I thought that the knitted covers were so expensive at the start, right at the start, but since have started to knit myself, and now I realise how much goes into them, and now I dont think they are asking enough for them! They are gorgeous, way nicer than any pul cover!! The colours and designs you see are amazing, and it takes real talent to make them (and to dye the wool, and to get the time with kids to actually sit for hours and knit them), so in reality, they arent dear, cause of the labour etc they should be twice as much as they are!!
