Hi everyone
I thought I would write to see if anyone is feeling as awful as I am? lol. I am feeling really sorry for myself as I have all day m/s and nothing seems to work. I have tried ginger biscuits before I get out of bed, vegemite on toast and even bought those stupid sea bands out of sheer desperation!
I can't even venture out of the house for fear that I going to have to :barf:as was the case last week!!
Im nearly 7 weeks and hate to imagine how long this is going to go on for!!
Is anyone else in the same boat?!

I had it for about 12 weeks with dd1, all through with ds and didnt have it with dd2
This pregnancy though i am soo sick its not funny i am dry reaching all the time as well not necessarily being sick though. I find i am sick in the afternoon but in the morning am dry reaching and at nigth in bed too.
I just snack on saladas and find that eating something small, like a sqaure of a salad with vegemite every 2 hrs tends to ease it a little more.
The minute i feel hungry i am sick. Driving me crazy!! I cant even walk into the supermarket at the moment without being sick!
I know continual snacking helps me and it eases it, i hope it passes for you soon i am ten weeks now and its still coming on strong though

Oh Hun I hear ya! I am with you in this situation. Can't offer much advice other than what is 'working' for me. I eat a couple of Jatz biscuits every morning before I get up. I make sure that I have have fairly bland, simple food in small amounts very often. I have been eating lots of vegemite toast, pears, apples, mashed potato, yoghurt and rice. It seems to help if I don't let my blood sugar get too low. I had a visit to the doc the other day. He knew that I had not been feeling well and consequently not eating much. He asked me to drink 600ml of Gatordade each day. Apparently when you are not eating your normal diet, the salts in your body get out of whack and can make you feel quite drained, deghydrated and 'wobbly'. I have had all of this. Anyway, for the last week I have been doing this and I can't say that it has cured me, but I have felt a bit better. I just use the powder and mix it into my water bottle. I hope you feel better soon.Take care

I think the worst part is that i just dont feel like eating! So its really hard to force down small amounts throughout the day when just the thought of food makes me wanna :barf:
I spent the majority of the weekend in bed, it was so awful and boring!! I cant wait till this stage goes and i can start enjoying the pregnancy cos at the moment - not happy jan!
If im feeling really rough sometimes chewing on spearmint gum helps a little. Although i find if i drink water i throw it up straight away - weird!

I have pretty bad m/s too. Last time it improved greatly at around 12-14 weeks.
I have been trying vit B6 this time - and it does work somewhat. Blackmores do a ginger/vit B6 supplement for morning sickness that has helped a few people I know.
I have just been taking multiBs whenever it gets over the top - it seems to keep me from actually throwing up most of the time.
I have to say, I find lying down makes it worse - not sure about lying down during the day cos it doesn't happen these days, but I find mine peaks when I am in bed overnight.

Hi
I feel your pain. I'm 8 weeks and feel sick all the time. Nothing seems to help. The thought and smell of food makes me gag but I find if I do manage to get it down, it helps. I feel sorry for people with children already. I just don't know how you do it. I can't even look after myself let alone someone else.
I too hope it goes away at the end of the first trimester.

Hi there,
I can only make some suggestions of the things I have tried these past 2 months, some helped some didnt.
1. Plain salada biscuits when waking up.
2. My partner bought me glazed ginger but it made me want to puke looking at it, he ate it all.
3. Lately I have rasin toast with honey, when I wake up, this is working well.
4. Try snacking on small amounts of mixed nuts, dried apricots, grapes and yogurt during the day to keep blood sugar up.
5. I found stress = worse morning sickness
6. A gentle stroll in fresh air if you feel up to it, helps
7. Try sipping lemonade
8. Try weak tea, herbal tea or hot choc (at the moment I love hot Quick, honey bunny flavor)
9. Sometimes cheese on toast, but this can seem to rich sometimes.
10. Try a granny nap, helps to get enough sleep.
11. Don't go near the kitchen sink.
12. Try the electrolyte drinks eg staminade, poweraid, mix fairly weak.
13. Meditation, or just sit comfortaby, 1 hand on stomach(baby) the other hand on chest and focus on breathing and think about feeling well.
14. potatoes, mashed, chips, steamed, for tea
Thats all I can think of just now, If you feel its too bad maybe talk to your doctor.
Hope this helps

i was just about to jump on here and post the same question? does anyone feel as bad as me??
i feel shocking from morning till night. sleeping overnight is the only relief. i am not throwing up but always on the verge. not really eating much, even water makes me wanna be sick. most smells of food make me wanna hurl! tried ginger, tried lemon, tried vegemite on toast...all not doing much. had this ice block thing that is for rehydration - has electrolytes and potassium etc and that helped - while i was havign it, then it wore off!
i am so over feeling like this!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsdown: so i totally understand!!!! i know they say eat small meals regularly, but when u dont feel like eating ANYTHING, what do u do! plus i am worried bubs is not getting enough nutrients and water.. :crying:

Yeah I'm feeling very average. I get waves of m/s and sometimes hits me pretty hard. I find that if I haven't snacked for a while it gets worse. Constantly deep breating and seem to be in a grumpy mood. Hopefully it will pass by week 12.

i just came and sat outside in fresh air with my laptop and it is so nice! plus had couple of pieces of toast with vegemite and they went down really well!! and a berocca. think i need to try and eat more often too, even if i dont feel like it!!

i gotta say since i went outside to get fresh air, had vegemite on toast, a berocca and then bit later had gatorade - i feel a million times better! i still have slight queasyness, but put it this way I have just eaten homemade vege pizza for dinner and still feel better!
not sure what was the main contributor, but i think the berocca and gatorade helped heaps! plus the toast and fresh air!
i also started taking vit B6 this morning to see if that helps - and i gotta say today was not as full on as previous days. still felt icky and like i was gonna throw up, but to a lesser degree!
so just wanted to say that this afternoon/evening is my best ever!:smiliedance: always helps i think to share what has helped us! we may still feel sick, but if we can lessen the extent of it, why not!!
the gatorade goes down real easy and is a better option today for me to get fluids down considering water has been a struggle. going to buy more tomorrow!

i know exactly how you feel. mine started at 6 weeks this time and i couldn't keep anything down. my sister gave me blackmores morning sickness tablets and i haven't been sick since taking them. i've been off them for a week and i am feeling great compared to how i was feeling. when i was pg with DD i got it so bad for 3 weeks i ended up in hospital on a drip, so i was willing to try anything this time around.
Good luck and i hope it settles down for you soon. just remember you still need to try and drink water

did something different this morning. as soon as i woke up i went and ate 2 pieces of bread with peanut butter and cup of tea! i don't feel 100% but well enough to do some housework and the washing and sit here on the laptop and surf the net! better than spending day wishing i was asleep to escape the sickness!
i can still feel it in background but HEAPS better than usual!
give it a try! :yelclap:

I fear morning sickness.
I was soooo sick with all of my boys.
I tried everything, nothing worked at all except sleep.
However during my last bout of morning sickness, out of sheer desperation, I tried this
www.morningwell.com.au
and it somehow worked (don't ask me how)
It is rather expensive, around $65 I think but I was so sick I didn't care about money.
It may not work but if you are willing to try I would recommend it.
Hope you get better soon. It is such an awful feeling:crying:

Hi there,
Yes I know all too well all about the morning sickness, as soon as i get out of bed im chucking up im only 8 weeks, due in november and my god i hope it gets better by 12 weeks only a few weeks to go, surely god couldnt be as crule as to give me ms for the whole 9 months, i dont think i would be able to handle it, im taking maxalon but that doesnt stop me from heaving up in the shower every morning - i know its grose i feel sick now just thinking about it !!!
Something that has helped a little is sleeping elevated on a couple of pillows that way when i get up im not feeling as sick as what i normally would, and the strange thing - i usually love chocolate, especially now that easter is virtually here, however due to ms i cant stand the site of it!!! i keep saying to myself it must be a blessing in desguise the fact that i cant eat chocolate, anyway im at work and just trying to get my mind and body into the work mood!! however nothing is working!!

I am from the Oct Threads but just wanted to give you a big :hugs: . I know how you feel, I have had terrible m/s since 6wks and I still have it. I hit the 12 week mark yesterday and hoped it would start to ease off a bit but ironically it has gotten worse! I found the sea sickness bands to take the edge off the nauseousness a bit but it doesnt stop the vomiting. And I also found that the Blackmoores Morning Sickness formula (you can get in the chemist) works if you can keep the tablets down - which I havent been able to very often...
I hope that things get better for you soon hun, Good luck!
