ok DD is 20 months and as soon as she is not scared of the potty or toilet anymore will be starting to TT.
for the past few days she has been getting one heck of a bad rash so today i put her in a MCN and it calmed down alot.
she has never had nappy rash befor i am putting it down to her stealing a heap of apricot coconut balls out of the kitchen and eating the whole packet.
now i am thinking since it calmed her rash down a heap i should buy some to have since she is now getting into different food and as you all know it is a kinda hit and miss when it comes to what they can eat and cant. so when she gets a rash i can put a mcn on her.

so now i have :ecomcity:
what i am asking..do you think it would be worth me buying a few since it might be quite a few more months till the tolet is not scary .
and what would you recommend in the way of a good cheap nappy as i dont really want to spend a heap of money because she wont be in them for a long time ???

oh and im not to much of a fan of pockets

I don't think there's such thing as a good cheap nappy to be honest. You basically get what you pay for.

Are you planning on having anymore babies in the future ? If you are, why not spend that bit extra on some OSFM (One Size Fits Most) nappies like BabyBeehind fitteds and some covers or you could try a few different types of MCN out and see which one's work best for you, keep in mind that what works for other's may not work for you but most well known brands have a great re-sell so you won't end up losing out too much.

This way you can not only use them on your DD but use them on the next one, if that happens to be the case of course ;)

Tots bots are good, they are very economical and apparently they work very well. I personally have only tried a tots bots bamboozle which is more expensive. there are quite a few tots bots on buyena at the moment.

Team this with a couple of wool covers...you can get great ones on WAHMania right now for $20...or buyena ($18) you would only need a couple.

Get some microfleece from spotlight to cut up as liners and voila...

You might like to try a few different types flick...

Maybe a fitted with a cover
a pocket
an AIO

It sounds like you are not sure what you might like...

a bumgenius pocket

an AIO...not sure what type...Oooooh bubblebubs are nice

I agree that Tots Bots are great if you want a good value fitted cloth nappy that still does the trick. They're still my DH's favourite nappy. (I'm only selling off some unused Tots Bots from my stash at the moment because we're using pockets for daycare and I don't need as many fitteds now! I overbought too many fitteds in advance...)

Baby Beehinds fitteds are also great if you don't mind spending a little bit more, I love the bamboo, so soft and so thirsty!

You don't 'have' to use a cover with fitteds (it's easy to see when they're wet!) but you can get PUL fleece or wool covers fairly cheaply anyway. One to wear, one to wash, one spare - fleece and PUL dry almost instantly when you wash them.

For quality fitteds, Cute Tooshies Bamboo Delights are fab (although Googling that gives strange search results  ) They are a one size!

So are Baby Beehinds in bamboo, and you'll see that they are mighty popular around here. Can't go past them for night!

If pockets aren't your thing.. and you are leaning towards fitteds: get quality covers. It is a wise investment and getting cheap-ar$e PVC ones down the street is false economy and usually a bad move (although they do work for some) Covers like Bummis Super Whisper Wraps, Motherease Airflow and Tots Bots are fab: soft and comfortable, a second line of defence against leaks and long lasting

I tried my Baby Beehinds PUL cover on my 2 year old last night and no leaks  I was impressed  So maybe get a trial pack of Baby Beehinds and go from there?
