At what age can you start giving yoghurt and how much at a time??

What are the best brands?

Thanks

We started on the petite miam 'baby' ones at about 7 months, I think
I just gave him as much as he wanted to eat from the little tub (usually about two thirds).
I just made sure I gave him the 'baby' ones. They don't have added sugar which is important when they are little. ;)
He also likes the vaalia ones too! :)

I started giving bub yoghurt at 9 months and since I'm a cheapskate I buy normal full fat because there's actually only about 3 percent more sugar in them than in the baby ones (ie about 12g per hundred instead of 9g from memory) and they're soooooo much cheaper. You have to watch for lumps though. Have fun!!

I've been giving MJ Vaalia & Petit Miam baby yoghurts for about a month. We give 1/2 a day. The Vaalia ones are a little runny, i think the others are better.

From 6 mths is ok I think and the best yoghurt's to start with are those with no added sugar (sorry I can't remember the brand), which most labels will advertise this on the front (and that they are specifically for baby's from 6 mths)..........

My kids still love their yoghurt! :)

Oops, forgot the how much bit - I gave them half a tub to start off with (your baby may want more or less?).............

I started giving Libby the baby Petit Miam at about 5 months, then Vaalia came out onto the market, so we tried that, but the portions are quite small. I often just buy a tub of full-fat Jalna plain yoghurt, and add that to either sweet or savoury meals.

i bought Coby the Baby Piete Miams (sp?) but they are double the size of normal peite miams so i just buy the normal ones...im not sure of the sugar content of either of them but i cant see it being too much of a difference..
he has a whole one a day...
i started him on yoghurt around 6 months i think...

Noah must be a pig cause he'll eat a whole baby petit Miam and be looking for more :) He's been eating them since 6 months. They are nice and thick so easy to give off little baby spoons, I found normal yogurt to be too runny and messy.
He loves it, usually has one at lunch or breakfast with a banana too :p

I fed yoghurt to my bubs since he was 6mths no dramas.
If i buy the baby petit miams he has a whole tub after having about 3 tablespoons worth of veggies either 3 cubes or half a tin. Otherwise if i get the normal yoghurt i give him again about 3 large tablespoons but it depends on him if he is hungry i give him what he wants basically ! He is a pigggy !
The baby yoghurts are a great way to start them out especially as they are in handy packs but one of my problems with a lot of them is many have very strong fruits in them such as peach & strawberries so i advise you make sure bubs hasnt got a reaction to these first before giving it. Strawberries ive been told can cause problems & i find this with my bubs if he has a strawberry yoghurt he becomes constipated so i try & only give him that every so often. My other problem is that this is the companies way of roping us well meaning mums into what we think is best for baby. All you need to make sure is that bubs is getting all natural full fat yoghurt as this is not only cheaper but as its plain you can then add your own fruit when & if you want so gives bubs different varieties.
Hopefully bubs will lap it up !

We have been giving Thomas yoghurt since about 6 months. I get the Les Petites ones from aldi - they have no bad chemicals (preservatives/colours/flavours) in them.

They are kind of moose like in texture which is easy to feed the little ones and Thomas absolutly loves them (so do I :p ). He will usually polish off a whole tub, no problems.

I started feeding Eleni yoghurt at around 6 months. I have only ever given her the natural full fat or greek style yoghurt, and I add my own fruit. It's much cheaper and there is NO added sugar. Looking at the sizes of the Petit Miams, I think Eleni would easily scoff 2 in a sitting! She loves her yoghurt!! She has it every day - some with her cereal for breaky, and after lunch and dinner as dessert.

Cheers!
