Well, kind of.
Most animals choose 'with-woman' care for their births.....
The Elephant gives birth surrounded by other female elephants, who caress her with their trunks, and sway in time with her contractions.....in zoos, to help with a stalling birth, they often bring in another female elephant, and the birth carries on successfully...
The dolphin also births best around other female dolphins, and again, even in captivity, another female dolphin is brought into be with the birthing dolphin, to help things run smoothly...
Rats also birth surrounded by other female rats....who circle her....
So, if 'with-woman' birth care is conducive to the animal world......'with-woman' care is going to be conducive to the human animal too....:D
You are better off with a midwife who stays with you 1on1 from wo-to-go during your labour......
