I have never heard of it. I had epis with bub 1 and Bub 4. The 1st time it was a positive experience for me. Last time (dec 06) It didn't work at all and was a horrible experience and I really regret having it.

I have heard of this before, I found this on google. Is this what happened to u Jaasssy?

Horner's syndrome is a eye disorder that consists of enophthalmos (sinking of the eyeball into its cavity), ptosis (droopy upper eyelid), swelling of the lower eyelid, miosis (abnormal contraction of the pupil), anhidrosis (absence of facial sweat) and heterochromia (difference in eye color).

It sounds so awful! How did the epidural cause this?

Goodluck with pregnancy no.2! :hugs:

I wonder if its cause by human error if they insert the needle wrongly?

Yeah thanks for all your relpies

I had had a lumbur puncture at 13weeks at they thought i may have meningitis( i was violently ill the whole pregnancy plus kidney stones twice plus choestatis so i got induced at 37weeks)so keep this in mind

Now during labour after about 6 hours what happend was they gave me the epidural and it work normamly for ABOUT 10 mins ten things begin to feel terribly wrong.. i lost feeling and sensation of my entire body except the front right hip and right hand side of my "box" where the contractions where hitting at a rapid pace lol...to be honest it happend so quickly i found myself asking my support partners am i breathing??? is my heart beating?????.. i was stuffed.. then my left eye started to go all droppy and i sensed the nurses and the anethsist getting very very worried.. so they did they best to reverse it..and gave me oxygen... now normally i get anxiety occionally.. and panic attacks but thank god i didnt that day.. all i can rememeber thinking was im in hospital i have nothing to worry about ( i got told now only a few weeks ago as they thought i could handle hearing it now that i was only mins from being incubated as my lungs and heart and everything was slowly shutting down...)..apaprenlty its very very rare and ti was talk of the town at all the local hospitals..... now wether it was human error and just some scar tissue from the lumbar punture i will never know but it was quite terrifying and i wil never be having an epidural again thats for sure.... even if im in pain or not the risks just aint worth it........... im reallt interested in talking to someone that has also experinced it so i know how it made them feel??
