Believe it or not, I have the same problem. My is 8mths old now and the side of the cot stays up without the metal part but Emma is not standing yet so we need to do something before she does.
We went to Baby Co. as that's where the cot was originally bought and they told us they could not get parts, we searched hardware stores for something similar but with no luck.
If you find anything can you please pm me and let me know.
I'm in Newcastle but if you get any ideas maybe they would help me out as well.
Thanks and good luck... ;)

I think the above post ended up in the wrong thread. Anyway - I tried to find some parts for cot a few years ago and had no luck myself but have had a thought that might help you - the Endeavour Foundation is based in Brisbane and make cots (we have one). If you ring them they might be able to sell you the piece you are looking for as they have a factory with a lot of them. Worth a try anyway!

i had the same problem. babyco looked down their nose at me and said i shouldnt be using a secondhand cot!! there is a secondhand baby equipment shop at stafford (northside bris)
i think its called bubbys playpen or something along those lines and he sold me a set of them for about 12 dollars.
good luck:)
