Your Doula experience

I am considering hiring a trainee doula for my pregnancy and birth but I would like some feedback on other people's experiences- whether your doula was qualified or a trainee I want to know your thoughts (positive or negative)!

HI there,

I had a trainee doula for my second birth as i had a very traumatised 1st birth and i felt that this was a good option for me.. My doula was the best ,very supportive helped me through my birth enormously

i had a drug free labour the 2nd time yay thats what i wanted.

very smooth birth compared to my 1st. I am in ore to my doula, she inspired me now i am a doula in training myself so what does that tell you hehe well i hope this helps

I had a trainee doula for my third birth - and it was wonderful. I felt fully prepared, and was able to remain fully focussed on the job I needed to do. Dh was supported, I was supported and it was the most amazing birth - I would love to do it again - incredibly empowering and gave my baby the most wonderful start in life that I could have wished for.
