With only 3 March babies to go it's about time we graduated from our "DUE IN March 2007" thread and started our first chat thread as new Mummies.
Well done to all those who've had their babies and good luck to the the few left still to pop.
Looking forward to sharing our baby tears fears and fun times with you all.

Hi ladies!!!
Betcha didn't expect me to pop in so quickly!!
Everything is going so well here, I can hardly believe it!!
Owen is the most wonderful feeder and sleeper, I only hope I'm not jinxing myself!!
Anyway, I have to go put the groceries away, then if I have time left before the two kids wake up, I want to get Owen's birth story down while it's still fresh in my mind.
Ciao for now!
its very cool to be a March Mum instead of a Due in March :)
Harper being quite good today, shorter sleeps than usual. oh, i said that and now he's crying! oops...
as of half an hour ago, Harper is two weeks old! time has flown. he looks heaps different already, his face shape has changed and his legs are starting to get chubby (yay for chubba bubbas!) :D he is getting so strong too, lifts his head during tummy time and his legs are really strong!
so what nicknames do March Mums have for their bubs? Harper's nicknames are Harps, chicken, munchkin, bubba, kiddo, sunshine and snuffalupagus (especially when he is feeding lol)
Elmopalooza
20-03-2007, 15:43
snuffalupagus hey?? Is Harper a grunter too??
Griffin has a really strong head too. Its funny coz when we give him tummy time he always lets out little farts!!
I call Griffin either Griff, Little man or babe. Sam calls him Griff or Griffy...
Amity calls Griffin "bubby". She is always trying to help me with him but she is still learning to be careful near him. Poor thing has copped a book in his head a few times. I cant really get angry with her though because she is just trying to share her books with him.
yep, he is such a little grunter! poor old paranoid DH thought he had breathing problems, needed reassurance from the middies.
thats so sweet about Amity sharing her books. we have started reading to Harper this week, he watches intently or just dozes off. we are both major book lovers and hope to instill the same in our boy.
Elmopalooza
20-03-2007, 16:41
Hehe yeah Sam thought he couldnt breathe properly too!
Im the same as you and love books! Its really good because so does Amity. Unfortunately though the only think Sam will read is a magazine, and even then he prefers to look at pictures ROFL!!!
Ah.. it's going to be so much easier with you guys over in this forum... I'm sick of having to go back and forth between this forum and the "Due In.." forum.
I feel like I know you guys just as well as my beautiful Feb girls
Welcome March mummies !!!

Monty lets out massive man sized really smelly farts... coincidentally only when DP is holding him!! (bad Frog).
His nicknames are: Monty Toad. Little toad. Toadlet and DP calls him Little Rodent.
He's also changed heaps too in the 2 weeks, much more alert now, slightly less similar to Grandpa Simpson.
He always sneezes three times and can't manage to eat the same time he's forcing out a poop. He also is so hungry he's chomping on his hand too hard to let the bottle in his mouth.
Strange the things we love about our babies.
Has everyone's partners gone back to work?
Also... how long did it take for your bleeding to stop (if it has already). I have a small amount still after 14 days. And how long does it take for stitches to disolve?

i am still bleeding a bit too. the obs told me the external stitches two weeks and the internal ones 60 days... but i am not sure if i heard right (i was out of it!), that sounds too long to me???

LT - I am still bleeding and it has been 4 1/2 weeks!!!
Griffin gets bad wind and will flinch when he is feeding and pull away while still sucking on my nipple. God it hurts!!
Hi Girls!
LL - I have to agree with you - It's wonderful to be a March Mummy, instead of a "Due in March Mummy-to-be!"
Nicknames .. haha Ummmm - Hmm Chelsea's are "Precious", "Tiger", "My Littel Girl", "Junior", "Sweet", "Chels", "Cheeky Monkey"....
She doesn't have a grunt either like the new little boys of the March Mummy's - she's a squeaker!! I think we should be calling her "MOUSE" lol
She turned 3 weeks old as of 9.50am this morning!! I can't believe how quick time flies by.
Ryan&MatthewsMum
20-03-2007, 20:12
Hi fellow March Mummies .
Wow how time flies!!!! Matthew is now 3+ weeks old and is growing heaps. His feeds are settling down now we have him on some stuff for his reflux. Before we got that it was a real struggle and lots of screaming and pain whenever we tried to feed - he would take two or so sucks then arch off the breast screaming.
Re nicknames - he also gets 'little man', 'soss' - short for 'sausage man' (no idea where I got that one), 'hey beautiful', 'chookie' and probably lots more that I don't even register calling him.
Matt is also a real grunter and when he first starts to feed now he sounds like he is really struggling for breath. So cute.
LT - Matt is also a big sneezer but he seems to get two out then does the cutest little noises as he tries to get that last one out. Very baby like. :D
I am also still bleeding but not much now. We are going down to the gold coast for a week on Friday so hopefully it stops soon.
Oops - gotta go, speak of the darlin he is awake and yelling....
Elmopalooza
20-03-2007, 21:19
Hehehe yeah Griffin does those cute little sneezes too! And then on his 3rd one he makes that sound when it wont come out.
Well i got absolutely covered in poo today! He had a really unsettled tummy last night and today and when i changed his bum this arvo i wiped and he let rip!! It went on the blanket, my leg, my foot, my pyjama pants and my hand! (i was sitting down). He of course laid there looking very pleased with himself!
He seems to be feeding a lot lately, as in every hour over a 3 hour period. My SIL reckons maybe he is thirsty coz of the heat just not hungry and that its the extra milk that is giving him a tummy ache. She suggested i try giving him some boiled water for his thirst... Any thoughts on it??
Ohhh Lana... REALLY????? 4 + a 1/2 weeks. Grrrr!
Its been 3 for me... so far....!
The midwives warned me it's possible 2 bleed for 6 weeks.
Elmopalooza
20-03-2007, 22:11
Yep im afraid so Kym! With Amity i bled for 5 weeks... Hopefully it will be the same this time and it will stop in a few days... :fingerscrossed: anyway!
Poor Griffin has a really sore tummy still... I keep forgetting to give him the Infacol before his feeds.
Lana, the middies and the community midwife that came out to our place after we got home from the hospital, also said that boiled water is good in between feeds. It's not to be used as a substitute for feeds though and obviously doesn't need to be HOT.. lol
I have tried this with Chelsea when she has been unsettled, and everything else has failed.. she's not keen on the water yet and screws her face up, then sticks her tongue out so you can't get the bottle back in - OR - she uses all her lip muscles to "weld" her lips together so there's noway you'll get anything in there. It's good in a way because that's her way of letting us know that she doesn't want anymore milk (or in this case, water) or that she doesn't want her dummy at that moment in time.. Really it's pretty cute  but I shouldn't laugh at her. I guess they have to get used to it eventually (the water). I especially would like for Chelsea to drink a lot of water while she is growing up, rather than fruit juice and soft drink, so will persist as long as I have to
Today has been one of those full-on days for me .. still haven't got around to getting any dinner for myself and it's getting close to 11pm in Adelaide
Hey all
Cooper's 5weeks and 4 days old. I time has just flown bye. Wish my morning sickness went by that quick lol. Anyway he hold his head up heaps and he looks really long. He loves to give me a scare when I'm holding him by almost jumping out of my arms...men
As for nicknames he gets, Coops, Pooper Scooper, squirt & and I can't remember the others lol
I really need sleep...I thought this would get easier

Thank god Amity is going to day care today! Hopefully that means that i will get a nap in at sometime today. I am functioning off only 5 hours sleep. Not great for someone who used to get at least 10!!

Hi Mum2ryan+1. glad too se eyou back. How's Matthew?
My phil and Ted's pram just arrived.
Hopefully will be easier than pushing the emullunga massive thing around.
Especially if I have to carry it down stairs.
One of the wheels are flat though so will have to get it pumped up.
Better have a shower while the toadlet sleeps.

Hey girls, didnt realise we are chatting in herre already!! Boy the time is flying by. I saw a newborn bub today and it was so small compared to Jacey :D I am going to weigh her on Monday as she will be one month old or rather 4 weeks.
OK I have finally posted my birth story too. Just need to change my pic now... I ahve been slack.
Jacey has been great, although Shezi after saying last night about not being as spewy she started purking HEAPS!!! I must've jinxed myself.
anyway best go washing to hang out, will catch up on posts later.
He's also changed heaps too in the 2 weeks, much more alert now, slightly less similar to Grandpa Simpson.
lmao! the little old man look.. i remember ALL my girls looking like little old men haha. even have the pics to prove it to them when they're older lol. yes im cruel!
Griffin gets bad wind and will flinch when he is feeding and pull away while still sucking on my nipple. God it hurts!!
this is the one plus to having already brestfed my older two.. i get no pain at all until they get teeth and start chomping through the nipple! (i really hope i havent jinxd myself with this comment!!)
feels so wrong to be chatting in here for two reasons.. one my baby was born in feb haha and secondly not all the 'due in march' babies are out! stubborn rams:rolleyes: lol
taryn i had to change my clothes today from A power chucking all down my shirt and jeans.. gross..
sarah, iris sounds like a dream!! im looking at getting the phil n teds pram too.. babies galore have them on sale atm and so does babyzone. which colour do you like? i think im leaning toward the sand one..
oh and nicknames.. my dad has finally stopped calling her ollie lol. he's moved onto calling her livy, livy loola belle, buggaluggakis, buggaluggs. thats all i can think of right now..
ok its 10.20pm way too late. im off to have a shower and go to bed. goodnight!!

Sarah, Sounds like you have a perfect little girl!
Very lucky she sleeps so long.
Tazzy., where do you get yoru baby weighed?
I might do that too today. Toadlet is definitely getting larger.
I went for a climb last night and had the best time. I couldn't belive how easy it was to get up the wall!
My first climb last week was more gentle but I did quite hard climbs and didn't really get tired either. Super speedy ascending toad!
DP looked after Monty and he slept the whole time! Biggst sleep he's had for a few days. He was awake alot more during the day and had one more feed than normal.
Last night he chomped down 165 mls. Definitely a Piggy!
Heaps of work to do today. Better get another snooze in quickly while I can.
Have a great day everyone.
morning ladies. this might be a dumb question, maybe it is obvious, but how do you tell if bub has wind and needs those wind drops some of you have mentioned?? H has been so unsettled, won't sleep properly or feed properly (i have had to express 3x since midnight :( )
any advice much appreciated!! thanks...

LL - A lot of the time when babies have wind they get a blue-ish tinge to the skin between their top lip and nose. they will also squirm around and keep pulling their legs up towards their tummy. I find that putting Griffin on his tummy helps him to pass the wind.
LT - I wish i had your energy!!

Owen's 1 week and 3 days today. He has a tonne of nicknames - same as Claire! :D I guess it's just whatever comes out of my mouth at the time. And then after a while one or two of them stick. The one that seems to crop up quite a bit is Owey-Moey.
Sneezes - Owen does these funny little double sneezes!! So cute! And he often does several in a row. Claire is fascinated by them!!
Claire still gets a bit upset when we're holding Owen - especially if she wants me to read her a book or something when I'm trying to feed him, At 17 months, she just doesn't understand the concept of waiting.
As for the bleeding, I remember I bled after I had Claire for 6 weeks (and then got my first period about 2 days later!) Hopefully it won't last as long this time.
Lana - great that you're functioning on a reduced amount of sleep. I can't believe you used to get 10 hours!! I am not much of a sleeper, so 5 hours for me is about normal. Owen is a great sleeper though and I usually only have to wake up once for a feed, if at all. Just waiting for the 6-week change up now!! lol
Better go. Claire's getting bored in the lounge room on her own!!

LL - i have had same problem with Alexander for around 1 week, DH went and got Infacol last night from the 24 hour chemist and so far it hasnt worked alot. Last night he screamed on and off for 5 hours, and i called the 24 hour help line in the purple file and they told me to go to my Dr this morning, which i am doing.
They also said if he hadnt have had small times of settledness within that 5 hours then i should have taken him to PMH:eek:
So i am wondering, if it's not wind, could it be reflux? He isnt a spewy baby tho.... oh this is just so hard....

it IS hard! i don't know if he's just having an off couple of days or if it is more serious? he is asleep now but keeps making little cries :(
and its over 3 hours since last feed so i figure he won't be asleep for long!
i am getting nervous about DH going back to work, he is so much help to me. took Harper for a walk in the pram earlier so i could go back to sleep. and he does more than half of the nappies too. i wish he could stay home forever!

It is hard, especially first time around when if like me, you've had no experience of babies before. Claire was so unsettled as a newborn. We had to hold her practically 24/7 which was exhausting!! She would fight sleep and once we eventually managed to get her to sleep (which could sometimes be hours), we had to be so careful laying her down, or she'd wake up and we'd have to start all over again! It can be so incredibly frustrating and so confusing when you've no idea what's wrong.
Take heart that even the most unsettled baby will get over it within a few months. I know that probably seems like an eternity at the moment, but honestly, it goes so quickly.
LL, I'm sure you'll manage just fine once your DH goes back to work. It is a bit daunting though, isn't it?! My DH has to work interstate about once a month, meaning that he can be away for up to a week at a time. He went away just before Owen was born, so we've got a few weeks to go yet, but I am DREADING his next trip away with every ounce of my being!! It takes two of us to get the kids to bed at the moment, as Claire has regressed quite a bit with her sleeping since Owen arrived. It takes us quite a while now to get her settled & into bed (ie: we're back to rocking her to sleep, which we'd finally moved on from only just before he was born!) I've no idea what I'm going ot do when DH goes away next!
I'd better go. I want to have some lunch & a shower before Owen wakes up. DH has gone to work & took Claire over to my mum & dad's on his way to work, so Owen & I have the place to ourselves this afternoon. My goal is to sort all the kids clothes out that have been piled up on chairs in the office for months, as I haven't had time to put them away!

ok so this is my second full day by myself with O and baby Iris.....
I am exhausted, its so hot and the air con is too cold but the fans arent cooling the place enough (cant win!)
Bubs has been good as always BUT its just never ending
I feed bub and get her off to sleep then feed O and put him to bed after a play and then bub wakes again and needs a feed.
I had to get up at 4am this morning to shower coz i knew i wouldnt get one in today otherwise!
PLUS my breasts are feeling hard and hot and are a bit red.....am afraid its the start of mastitis!!!
coz bubs is feeding only from one breast every 3-4 hours during the day and randomly at night my boobs are constantly full.....i know they will eventually settle down BUT im just scared of getting mastitis in the mean time
PLUS i think im coming down with the flu my mum had it last week and today my throat is raw and i have a splitting headache
PLUS O is sick again with a nasty cough just hoping we dont have ot visit the hospy this time so im pumping him with ventolin and claratyne!
not a great day BUT hey i cant really complain it could be way worse im just TIRED:sleeping:
MrsMiggins
22-03-2007, 13:49
Oh S!!! You poor thing!!! If you think it's mastitis, make sure you empty your breasts during/after each feed. I had it twice with Claire and OMG!!! I am sooooo adamant I'm never ever getting it again!! It was bloody awful!! My boobs always feel full too because while Owen feeds for a good hour each time, he will then sleep for up to 5 or 6 hours, so by the time he wakes up, I feel like I'm about to burst!
You poor thing!! Make sure you look after yourself, OK?
Well, I've managed to get some pics off my mobile onto the Hub! Check out my beautiful little man!! (http://www.bubhub.com.au/community/forums/showthread.php?p=1245164#post1245164)

MrsMiggins, Owen is such a sweety.
Sarah, I can sympathise with you, hope your day gets better.. and I only have one! Must be very hard.
I don't actually mind DP being away at work, I don't feel stressed if toadlet cries . I worry how he feels and copes with him.. he's a fantastic daddy though.
Can't help with the wind iissue. Monty is having gaviscon for reflux.
Withh his sleeping he self settles every time. We put him in bed awake and he falls asleep, either straight away or after a 5 minute grizzle. We made sure he knew that's the way it's going to be!!
Ok,.. I finally edited some video's we took of toadlet.
http://www.bizztools.net/m/monty_day2.html
http://www.bizztools.net/m/monty_day10.html
http://www.bizztools.net/m/monty_day16.html
he's definitely getting chubby! I now have his nappies on a larger snap setting.
LT - those videos of Monty are fabulous... what a gorgeous little bubba (pretty gorgeous mumma too !!)
I was just looking at your weight loss photos (very, very jealous btw :) ), are you back to, or under your pre-pregnancy weight?? You have a fab body, maybe I should take up climbing too !!
(BTW, hope you guys don't mind me crashing your thread every now and then)

Thanks ICUgirl.
It's nice having other mummies pop in.
How is your little boy? He looks very deliscous.
Does it get easier as he gets older?
love the vids of Monty and the pics of Owen - what a bunch of cuties we've got!!
LT - i can't believe that bod! people must ask "didnt you just have a baby?" all the time!
Thanks ICUgirl.

Kaelan is doing well... he's developing so much every day, becoming really aware of his external environment... a mobile hanging above his head actually means something to him now :)
It does start to get a bit easier (says she, trying to settle her son for the 50th time today :banghead: ). And believe me, when little Monty starts smiling at you, you'll realise just how much these god-awful sleepless nights are really worth it.. it will melt your heart !! :)

do you have a breast pump? if Harper doesnt feed well or i am feeling too full/sore then i use the pump to 'empty out'. he has expressed milk a couple of times a day so i keep it in the fridge but even if he doesnt have it, my boobs feel a lot better anyway! i just have to make sure i do it after a feed so there is time for the milk to fill up again before the next feed :)

Hi Girls!
Well i too have had the 5 hr sceaming fits 2 seperate occassions, it is hard isnt it. I Hate not knowing what is wrong, and seeing him cry like that.
He is 2 weeks today! Talk about time flying.
Im off to get a breast pump tommorow, as bf'ing is hurting too much, he is a super sucker, i know they say to persevere but i want my boobies to heal LOL. I also want to monitor how much he is eating as he always seems to be waking for more. So i give him a bottle for a top up. How much should i give him for formula? Pack said 60mls up to 2 weeks which wasnt enuf so gave him 90. Now says 120, But as im BF'ing 10mins ish per side, what do you think? As a top up? I dony want to over feed ifykwim. He has put on his lost weight plus around 90grams at last weigh in.
His nicknames are cheeky monkey, mucky pup (makes a mess when feeding either boob or bottle) and fart machine.. man he does some ripper farts!!

Cant help you with the tops up questions sorry AD.
Well Griff is officially in 000 now!! He looks so cute in his little outfits too!
I took this photo today while he was feeding. I think its cute lol Griff (http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m111/Amitys_mum/Griff-Photobucket-1.jpg)
Hopefully Bluegin and Frangi will be joining us as March Mummies soon! (even if technically i am a Feb mummy lol)

AquaDevil78 - I’m not a March mummy but just want to help you out on your question. I used to breast feed my son Talon for 20 mins on each breast and then did a top up of 30mls of formula. Don’t go by what’s on the formula tin as that’s for babies who are just fed on formula. Hope that heaps you.
Cheers
Kel
 evening all
i had to change my clothes today from A power chucking all down my shirt and jeans.. gross..
I had to do the same today as I just finish feeding Coop and I stood up to burp him and with his burp came out heaps of spew. It went all over the both of us and on the carpet. So I jumped in the shower with Coop and being his first shower he loved it. I didn't exactly know what to do with him once I finished washing him though, as I had to wash myself lol
Last night he chomped down 165 mls. Definitely a Piggy!
How much do you feed Monty usually LT? I feed Cooper about very 3 hrs 150mls and if his wide awake for about an hour (after his feed), I'll give him a further 60-90mls to go to sleep with.
Hi Girls..
Congrats to Jazzysmum and family on the birth of Roxy! Yay - she can join us now.
I am soooo feeling for BG & Frangi at the moment!! BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG :hugs: !!
Em & Shezi, Chelsea got Craig a good one yesterday when the midwife from Child and Youth Health Services was here weighing her again. Ohhh it was foul! Never knew a kid the age of 3.5 weeks could chuck like a grown up can! Grrrr, poor DP! Better him than me though... Ohh hmm that makes me think about "Karma" - Maybe I shouldn't laugh... She's got plenty of time to get me a good one like that! I'm sure it'll happen sooner rather than later too!
Chels is having about 100mls every 4 hours. Normally she'll have that in one feed and sleep for about 3 of those 4 hours. Hmm well until the last week, thats how it's been happening. Now it's more like 50-60mls every 2 hours and the odd 100-120ml feed & 4 hour sleep. She's been pretty restless this past week. When I spoke to the midwife about "feeds and amounts", yesterday - she said to give her the 100mls and if she wants more then offer her another 20mls.
Apparently for a 3.5 week old 120mls per 4 hours is normal (hmm well average lol, maybe normal isn't the right word as babies are all individuals!)
Hey, where's Tazzy been today??
ICUGAL - It's great to have you dropping in on us! You give us new mummies the incentive to go on lol! I can't wait until Chelsea smiles at me.. Like you said, I think it'll melt my heart. I bet you I'll be in dis-belief and will wonder if it was really a smile and will want her to do it again... and I bet ya she won't for awhile lol - just to keep me in suspense!
AD - Chelsea gets called Cheeky Monkey all the time too! It soooo suits her!! Sorry to hear that your boobies are killing ya... from Antonio feeding! Hmm I know what that feels like and apart from my supply not being anywhere near enough for Chels, it's one of the reasons why I had to stop breast-feeding. :fingerscrossed: you can stick with the expressing in between feeds - so that your "girls" (boobies) can heal a bit! Goodluck - I hope it goes well. Keep us updated!
Good on all you girls that are bf'ing! Well done!! :yelclap: I get a little upset sometimes when reading how much you are all are enjoying it - but need to remember I gave it my best shot and it just didn't happen for me. I think everyone who is bf'ing AND BOTTLE FEEDING deserve a huge pat on the back (It's all tiring). I think we are led to believe that because we are women, bf'ing should be a natural and easy thing - but it isn't for all of us.. is it?
Who else is bottle feeding? (ohh please don't get mad with me for asking, I know I get sick of everyone asking lol) - I'd just like to know who's with me on the bottle feeding adventure. I know you are LT...
Technically I am not a March Mummy either Lana...! We were due in March though and we've all got so close to the rest of the March Mummies (that actually gave birth in March) - that I think we should stay if we're still welcome lol
xxScoobsxx
P.S Chelsea sends everyone a kiss!
hehe yep scoob im with you. we're staying whether wanted/allowed to or not! :p

Scoob, I felt the same way when I wasn't able to BF Claire. We have been successful this time and I am so relieved as I desperately wanted to BF, but Claire really thrived on formula and it definitely saved the sanity of our entire household!! You have to do what's best for you. I did manage to combine BF & expressing for a while, but I agree - anyone who can keep that up for more than a week or two is a champion!!! I felt like all I did was feed, express, sterilise, fall into bed for 5 minutes, then start all over again!
Owen is a born feeder & sleeper by the looks of things. I only hope he keeps it up! We're having some renewed problems with Claire's sleeping now that Owen's here, so just as long as he can keep going the way he is for a few more weeks until Claire settles down, hopefully we'll survive!
AD, can I ask you if you've seen a lactation consultant? I just wonder because it sounds like you're going through the same thing I went through with Claire. Please don't think I'm interfering, but I just wanted to let you know some info I wish I'd had back then. If you want to continue BF (and I don't know whether or not you do, but just in case) it may be worth your while to speak to an LC. If he is only having 10 mins each side, he's probably only getting the foremilk and that may be why he is wanting to feed so much. If you can manage to get him to feed longer from each side, or even just from one side, he may not need to feed so often and your poor boobs will have more of a chance to heal. It is incredibly painful though, I know. That's why I couldn't keep going with Claire.
Anyway guys, I'd better run. Hope everyone is getting plenty of sleep!! :D

Hello girlies!
Just a quick one as i just put amity to bed and am looking forward to just sitting and relaxing in front of the tv!
I had a really good night with Griffin last night. He finished his feed at 10.30 then woke for another feed at 12.55am. I put him back to bed at 1.45am and the little champ slept through until 7.20am!! I sooo needed that long sleep as yesterday i was absolutely buggered!! I wonder if he will be kind enough to do it again tonite!?
:hugs: to you ladies that are a bit upset about having to bottle feed. I tried breastfeeding Amity but it was all a bit much for me so in the end I put her on the bottle at 2 1/2 weeks and she thrived! And yet this time I havent had a problem with it (now that i am past my sooky days). Dont beat yourselves up over it, you just have to do what is best for you and your bubs!

Hey girls
Just a quick one as I'm off to get some pics printed. Jacey had a terrible day with pains yesterday and didnt sleep ALL day only on and ff in our arms. Anyway fed her at 9.30pm and she woke at 2.45am and then 6.30am so at least it was a good night. Today she ahs been much better. I have worked out she doesnt like when I have spag bol which I think may be the tomato and capsicum?? Not sure. I'm starting to write down what I'm eating as to her pains. I think she may have a sensitive tummy like her brother had!!
I get Jacey weighed at the local family and child health centre. It is so good up here - they offer so much support and information and its all free. I'm going to do a class soon on positive parenting. Hopefully this will help me deal with Logan and him being a little naughty.
umm cant remember anything else. Take care everyone and rest up and enjoy your little bubs.

quickie post.....
Fi- so glad bfing worked out this time round its a relief huh! and thanks for being so supportive as its nice to get on here and vent and then release it all!!!
Definately helps.
Congrats to Jazzy'smum and baby Roxy!
LL- i do have a breast pump some where but i dont want to express as then my boobs will think bubs is demanding more milk and my supply will increase not decrease iykwim
Breasts feel better today anyway as bubs feed heaps between 5-9pm last night.
Lana-we put Iris in oooo to leave hospy when she was only hours old and they didnt fit her lol so shes been in ooo all along i have to sort therough all the lil beautiful oooo outfits i have and give them away unused!
Weighed her today and she weighs 4450 so shes gained almost 500grams since leaving hospy!
Went to get the granuloma removed BUT once there the nurse and paed looked at it and said it had shrunk so they wouldnt do it......just said to monitor it keep it clean and it should disappear.
Also bubs is very nasally and the paed. thinks shes caught a virus from O and I as we are both unwell so we have to monitor her and make sure she keeps feeding etc
Love all the pics....
gotta go and get some rest!

feel better today as mum stayed home from work to help me out!

Sarah - Poor little Iris! i hope she feels better soon! What exactly is a Granuloma and what does it look like?? Griffin has a hardish part to the inside/bottom of his belly button and it looks like a slightly different colour to the rest. It almost has a grey-ish tinge to it... Any ideas??
Taryn - Glad Jacey had a better night for you! I can handle the rough days so long as they sleep at night!
P.S Chelsea sends everyone a kiss!
I'm bottle feeding Scoob. :smiliedance:
I'm not a march mummy either, oh well too bad
Emma, toadlet is drinking anywhere from 120 - 165 mls now per feed (either 6 or seven times a day). He's 2.5 weeks old.
Maybe I should up Cooper's milk then he might sleep longer.
Just a question: Cooper has been throwing up almost at every feed since yesterday afternoon. He doesn't have a temp and he's fine other then that, do you think I should be worried
I did manage to combine BF & expressing for a while, but I agree - anyone who can keep that up for more than a week or two is a champion!!! I felt like all I did was feed, express, sterilise, fall into bed for 5 minutes, then start all over again!
i'm not finding it too bad, having dh home makes a big difference as he can give him his expressed bottle while i use the pump for next one.
after our bad night on wed we discovered last night that if we give him an exp boottle straight off (rather than offer boob first then top up) then we could put him straight back to bed! so we had a great sleep last night, yay!
i do wish he was better on the boob and less expressed bottles but i figure he'll get there and my top priority is happy, healthy Harper!
R&T'sMum - Just read your birth story/announcement - sounds like you had a really good birth. I wonder if knowing what to expect from the c-sect, helped you at all.. It really sounds like you got your head around all of it and nothing was a surprise for you.
Do you think that because you have experienced a couple of c-sect's before - that it helped relax you etc.....?
I've thought a few times about what I might do if I have another one later (lol most probably will - DP and I want 2 children .. hmmm well he wants twin boys next so that would mean 3..) part of me wants to experience a normal vag (circumstances permitting) delivery but it scares me s*#$less, and another part of me says to go with a c-sect again because I had Chels via c-sect...
Was the decision to have c-sects an issue for you 2nd and 3rd time around...?? OR Was it a personal choice...???
MrsMiggins
23-03-2007, 22:22
Scoob, I hope you don't mind my chiming in here, uninvited!! But the whole VBAC/repeat caesar thing has been a big issue for me recently. (If you've got a spare couple of hours, have a read of Owen's birth story!!)
I desperately wanted to experience a normal vaginal delivery. I had to have a c/s first time round due to placenta praevia and the fact that Claire was also breech. I was disappointed, but not overly so, as I knew for my 2nd if the same issues weren't there, I always had the option of having a VBAC.
This time when I had to make the decision to have the c/s, it was very, very difficult for me and I was crushed, not only because I'd been anticipating a successful VBAC, but because it meant that any future children would have to be delivered by c/s. I would never be able to experience giving birth and for me, this is something that is extremely difficult to come to terms with. Don't get me wrong - I made the decision to have this c/s confidently and without regret knowing that my baby would be delivered safely, but the pain of losing my chance to deliver naturally is still there.
Only you can make the decision about what to do because only you know what is right for you. If you think you would regret never having the experience of having a vaginal delivery, then it may be well worth your while to give the VBAC a try next time round. If it's not all that important to you and you feel more comfortable having the c/s, then don't let anyone put you off.
I don't mind at all MrsMiggins, the more feedback I can get, the better. Thanks heaps for replying!! :hugs:
I feel like I would like to give the VBAC a go but I'm just a big chicken! It is important to me, so I'm guessing I will probably give it a try. I have a lot of time to think about it though.
I got a script from my OB on the Wednesday just gone to get Depo and will go back to the hospy to get it done next week. Want to be protected so I don't have any decsions like this one to make...for a fair while. Am thinking I will have the depo injection every 3 months for the next 9 months..atleast. Craig and I are thinking we might see if we can wait until Chelsea is 2 before we begin trying for our second child. So you never know - my view might completely change by then anyway, but I was just curious if you HAVE to have c/s's for following children if you started with one for your first child. If Chelsea wasn't breech, I would have tried the normal delivery but I'm not sure how I would have handled it... I guess all ladies wonder how they will do.. That's why I am sooo proud of all the mummies in the March thread.
Don't worry girls, for all that had c/s's I am equally as proud, as our healing time is a little longer and sometimes more painful. Ohh and I haemorraged on the 3rd day also - so that was quite scary having all the docs running around and all the blood pooling all around me (never seen so much blood in my life). The doc couldn't find a vein so I was like a needle cushion that morning... and because they had to try and rush the IV back in a vien.. I ended up with bruises all over my arms from where they were unsuccessful.. Grrrr!
Anyway enough about me (getting side-tracked again) .. thanks MrsMiggins for your advice!

Its like an extra bit of flesh, hard to describe but when we first saw it it was all pusy and smelly and it was sticking out of her belly button underneath the left over umbilical cord.
Then the cord dropped off and the smell went away but it was still pusie.
As the week went by its gotten smaller and smaller so now i can barely see it and have to dig around to clean it out etc but i still have to clean it each nappy change time as its pusie.
Im pretty sure what you describe isnt a granuloma as they are smelly and pusie lol
BUT if your worried hun ask your chn next visit.
Shezi- P&T's are on sale as of today at babies galore the new sport ones are going for $495 and the toddler seat is going for $89.95 the old model will be even cheaper!
Im getting basic black as i have a couple of different nappy bags/pink/red/black that i like ot mix and match with lol so need a pram to match all of them.
That said i would LOVE ot get the apple green one as it looks sooooo nice BUT will opt for boring safe black.
What about you? which colour will suit your beautiful girls?
With bottle feeding.....last time i was soooo jealous of all the bottle feeding mummas as i hated bfing so much. I would pray for some kind of milik supply problem or a latching on problem (I know that sounds bad) BUT i couldnt give up bfing as dh was 150% for it and would have been very upset if i had of stopped PLUS my own mothers guilt was working over time!
I loved the thought of having the freedom of bottle feeding so good luck to all you Bottle toting mumma's:yelclap:
This time though bfing is great and im actually enjoying the close bonding time together, helps that lil Iris only takes about 30mins to feed/burp/change and put back to sleep!
Where as O would feed for a good hour off both breasts then scream all the way though burping/nappy changing and settling to sleep!!!
Have a great day today girls!

Hi Sarah,
I bought the apple phil & teds.
IIt's nice and easy to maneuvre.. the only draw back is going upp escalators, I think you have too fix the front wheel so it doesnt wobble.. or go up backwards.
Glad the BF is more agreeable this time round. It's a lot of extra work dong bottles.. AND cloth bappies! I'm forever steralizing, cutting up nappy liners and stuffing pockets.
I bought some digital scales yesterday. Weighed myself and I am about 1/2 kilo over what I was before I got pregnant .. and that was for a skinny week!
I also weighed toadlet (by holding him while I was standing on the scales).
Since he was born he has put on 1.1kg!!! That is 1 kilo in the last 11 days. He's starting to get a little chubby which I like.
Better do some housework while Frog is at the gym, then I'm off for a climb.
Thanks for the link LT.
Well I got far too cocky this pregnancy. Im 9kg heavier still than I was pre-pregnancy  . With Sam I lost weight so I figured this would be the same. What a shock.
Is anyone else leaking from every orafice? My boobs are like taps!
Hope Iris is better Sarah. xx
Having a rough day today. Leah just wouldn't settle by herself (seems to be a common pattern the past couple of days) so I had to feed her to sleep after 2 hrs which I really dont want to get into the habit of doing. Even the LC at the hospital said shes a wilful little miss so it seems shes already figuring out what she wants. I guess we just go with it for the first 3 months or so until she gets some sort of routine sorted huh? How does everyone else put their babies to sleep?
Ok, havent' read all but thought I'd pop into this thread. Need to go. Have a good day with yoru babies girls.

Hi there,
Congrats jazzysmum on little roxy! Not many March mums left now! Oh and also anyone else who has had a bub but I have forgotten to mention in the last week.
I havent weighed myself for ages but dont think I've lost much :( last time I had 9kg to go and I will weight myself on Monday as that will be 4 weeks.
Jacey slept great last night and finally got her to go to sleep on her own this morning :smiliedance: I decided to try and make the room really cold and do the angel wrap- yay nearly 2 hours sleep so far.
Anyway my parents are here, bye

OK, let's not talk about weight gain!! I put on 30 kgs with Claire and was determined not to do that again this time round, but it seems my body has its own ideas about how much weight it will gain during pregnancy!! I didn't weigh myself in the last couple of weeks, but it would have been around the 30kg mark again. I lost all but 10kgs before I fell PG again last time (and I fell PG with Owen when Claire was only 7 months old) so I'm not too worried. I've set myself a goal to be at my ideal weight by DH's 40th which is in late Oct. That's 25kgs! Sounds daunting now, but I've done it before, I know I can do it again.
S, I'm glad you're enjoying BF more this time round.
As for the sleep thing, Owen pretty much puts himself to sleep after a feed, which is a wonderful, wonderful thing!! Claire would fight sleep for hours and that was exhausting!
Hey! Wow! That is incredibly, incredibly cheap for the P&T, isn't it?? We looked at that, but decided on the Baby Love Tandem Tribute 3-wheeler. Unfortunately they don't have it in stock & they said it could take months. I wonder if it'd be worth going for the P&T instead? I'd have to convince DH though - he wasn't keen on it, but I can't remember why.

Annsam,
With toadlet we were very strict from about day 5 with his grizzling and settling.
We feed him, change his clothes to wake him up a little, feed him some more, change his nappy, feed some more, then warap him and feed him hhis last chance offer to make sure he still isn't hungry. We give him lots of kissses, put him in the basinette awake and he goes to sleep 50% of the time, the other 50% he cries for about 5 minutes to put himself to sleep. Only on two occasions has he kept wailing and we fed him some more and he was happy straight away.
Twice recently he woke up and had a big cry an hour after waking. We changed his nappy cause he was very wet and he went straight back to sleep.
Hope it gets better for you.
Just got back from a climb.. so nice to be able to do difficult routes again.!!

Am hoping too lose about the same as you fi as i have left over weight from O.
whose going to start the march mummy weight loss thread????
j's mum...... my milk came in day three with both bubs and yes anna im leaking heaps well more like squirting heaps! heeeeheeee
re; sleep
Iris usually falls asleep after a feed, no matter if we change her or bath her she'll just sleep right through
BUT if i get busy or neglect to respond promptly to her tired signs she then fusses a lil so i pat her to sleep. i really dont mind doing it as i really cant stand to hear crying newborns i still have nightmares about O when he used to scream all the time!
hope all the babies are being:angel: tonight!

Day 4 for me both time but both times we got off to a rocky start. Loveing BF this time though Im in agony becuase she 'eats' so much!
LT and Sarah, thanks for the sleeping info. LT, I think Im going to have to go down that track as Leah wont resettle now and I spend 2+ hrs tryign to get her to sleep then after 30 minutes odd of feeding its just not fair on Sam iykwim. Think I need to nip it in the bud so to speak.
Well mum has left. My uncle didn't turn up in the end. Called 15 mintues before he was supposed to to say him and his wife had a spat and wouldnt' be coming. Oh well.
DH and I have had a small glass of champers to celebrate having our house back and our family under one roof. Gone straight to my head. Hope Leah doesn't want feeding soon........ then again it might fix the sleeping issue  (just kidding).

Anna... On day 5 toadlet was being very grizzly and crying when I put him down and had been for the previous 2 days. I was so unbelivably tired and the feed before I had to make a sling to tie him to my chest just so he would go to sleep. i had to sleep sitting up.
When I put him down the next time he cried like mad.. and I was too tired and said "toadlet mummy needs sleep" I went to bed with him crying, he cried for an hour and then fell asleep. Since then he has self settled almost straight away.
I'm very glad we managed that at the start.
Might be hard to leave them to cry to start with but definitely worth it in the end.

Hey girls hope you have all had a good day!
Jaimie - My milk came in on day 3 with both.
Anna - Yep i leak alot too! just before a feed when my milk is let-down and also when he first starts is feeding the other side will leak a bit.
Sarah - great news bout ur pram! I bought the apple green one lol. Love the colour.
I went met my mum at the shops and had a coffee and then she took Amity for the night (we have had this planned for about 3 weeks so i have been looking forward to my break lol). Bought a few things while with mum then Sam and I took Griff with us to Garden City. I bought some new Arnette sunnies and some awesome new shoes! Nice to be able to wear normal shoes again! No more fatty feet!
My bottom left wisdom tooth is pushing through some more (its half way through) and it kills!! My gum and cheek is all swollen and it even hurts to swallow coz of the pressure from my tongue and cheek! I think i will have to go to the dentist and have it pulled. I have already had the top two done.

Me too Lana - I gargle lots of salt water and it has helped. I couldnt get into the dentist until 5th!! Although my cheek isnt swollen. I had that though when I was pregnant and had to have panedine forte and some other antibiotic as it was infected. Hope it clears up for you.
jaimie my milk was day 2 with the first 2 and my boobs were prettyy big by the time A was 24hours! im thinking coz i only stopped bfing D when i was 5 or 6months preg so the milk never fully dried up..
lana definately get those teeth ripped! i had all four done at once. best thing ever.
i hope you have a nice sleep tonight!!
im getting some new arnette sunnies too.. mum's buying them for my bday. even better when its not you spending the money hey! lol oh and saw the cutest little etnies sneakers that would fit M & D! im so close to going and buying them a pair each. D already has some reeboks lol, they were bought for M when she was a bub but she never really wore them.. D loves them though.. she's finally adapted to wearing shoes!
well i am happy happy happy coz daylight savings finishes during the night!! we've already turned our clocks back :D early bday pressie for me!
sarah i love the p&t pram too.. i've promised chris tho that i will sell every pram other than my mountain buggy before i buy one.. i have 4 at the moment :o  but i will add 2 of them are next door. always good to clutter mums place hehe!
i should post this before im called away again.. i started this hours ago haha. i hope everyone is well!
oh forgot to add.. i finally weighed myself today and it was somewhere between 61 & 62kg. i was 61 pre preg so i am stoked.. i still have a bit to go from Danielah though as i was 56 before i fell preg with her and gained 17kg! fell preg when she was 6months old so never shed it all.. and my bod is definately more 'cushiony' than it was.. "walk & tone, walk & tone" :D

Also lana and Tazzy......get those teeth pulled out hun i had my wisdom teeth coem through while pg with O it was HELL!
Shezi...i hear you about pram city dh is happy i got the P&T only coz we only have one car so this will make it heaps easier for me to get out and about without having a heart attack!

happybirthday Shezi, hope you have a lovely day with your girls and chris.
OK who knows how to get ink off lounges??? DS went burko with a pen and I didnt realise he had one. It also ended up on the back of my shirt - thats when I found out he had a pen and then saw how he decorated our lounge room.
Last night it was fish food over the whole room, now biro!!! I must keep a closer eye on him. He is certainly pushing my buttons lately.
Anyway little Miss is awake now and we are off to mums for a swim.
Have a great Sunday.
Morning girls........ or is it still night time? Im getting confussed as they are mushing into each other :o .
Leah woke 6 times in the night! Some of it my fault as when she started squirming and complaining I immediately fed her not wanting to wake up DH or DS and so she was only snacking so of course would be hungry an hour later. Going to have to just try and resettle her tonight if its within 2 hours of the last feed.
Sam also played up last night wanting "big bed". Mum left yesterday so maybe it was a bit of that or maybe it had something to do with the fact he saw Leah asleep on the big bed yesterday. Who knows. thankfully that didn't last too long though.
Sorry to hear about the sore teeth girls! Hope they improve.
Fingers crossed you dont get sick Shezi and Happy Birthday! Hope you have a great day.
Going to try venturing out today but the weather is a bit cr*ppy. Need to get out of the house as Im getting a sever case of cabin fever.
Have a great day girls.
P.S. Carrie, you asked in the "due in" thread for tips on teh sleep deprivation etc - no tips but only to say this phase does pass quickly even if it doesn't seem like it at the moment. I have to keep reminding myself of this.
morning mummies!
gosh! you all seem to be doing so well! i have no idea what im going to do when mum goes...though it will be nice to get back to normal. Dh thinks he has a tummy bug so now im freaking out that Roxy will get it. Also she spewed this morning but that may have been me not burping her properly. she spewed a couple of times in hospital.
Lana and Taryn- you poor things! wisdom teeth are horrible! hope you both get some releif soon!
Oh and i wanted to ask the mummies with toddlers how their big babies are doing? How are you going with giving them enough attention and stopping them from poking the babies eyes out?
Oh and its normal for them to sleep all day and party all night isnt it?Roxy seems to only want snack feeds in the day then from 8 till 10-12 she is awake and hungry. Seems like she sleeps all day long:sleeping:

Lana....can i ask about the brake on the P&T, it feels like it doesnt work very strong like you can still push it a lil??? maybe im doing something wrong?
Sarah, Have you got the back wheels on the right way round? Make sure the side with all the holes are facng inwards not outwards.
Glad I wasn;t the only one with a night from hell.. although mine wasn't totally due to the toadlet.
A car alarm (big honking horn one) went off ALL night every 3 - 5 minutes. Called the police with the rego so they could contact the owner.. but they couldnt and then said they couldnt do anything about it.
I had to go take toadlet and myself to the gym downstairs so I couldn't sleep. After waking hm up fo a eed beore I took him down there he he had a very restless night. Toadlets weren't my favourite thing!!
I was soo angry about ther car, I could seriously have gone and smashed my 15kg snap press through the window. If there was a person standing out side my window yelling uncontrollably every 5 minutes the police would do something about that! I think they were just being lazy cause it was cold wet and a saturday night.
Onteresting.. the guy next door said it's now parked inside the building with "white stuff" all over it .. this time it wasn't me with eggs!
Rant over.. off to catch up on some more sleep.
Oh and i wanted to ask the mummies with toddlers how their big babies are doing? How are you going with giving them enough attention and stopping them from poking the babies eyes out?
Jaimie, I cant get Sam to touch Leah. He might poke her stomach (gently) or something like that but he wont hold or cuddle or kiss her. Thats ok though - all in good time. Other than that hes acting out a little but Im trying to spend every free second with him and DH is still at home so is helping there. Dont know what life will be like when he goes back to work.
Oh and its normal for them to sleep all day and party all night isnt it?Roxy seems to only want snack feeds in the day then from 8 till 10-12 she is awake and hungry. Seems like she sleeps all day long:sleeping:
LOL, It would be nice if Leah slept all day!!! Ive just gotten her to sleep at 11.30 and shes been awake since 4.30. She dozes then wakes 30 minutes later. Doing my head in. She only seems to have one decent sleep a day and thats after exhausting herself totally......... and me. Someone up there didn't get my order for a good sleeping baby this time.
LT, sorry to hear about your night. Thats the pits!! I cant believe police cant do anything about that considering it is supposed to be an 'alarm' and disturbing the peace through the night.
Anyway, looks like Leah is going to sleep this time :fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: and my boys are out so Im going to get some sleep.
Shezi - happy birthday around now i think????
hehe sorry to confuse you all! its tomorrow.. 26th.
taryn the things kids do.. i was feeding bub last night and the girls were in D's room so i checked on them and M had poured baby powder all over them both and all over the room. i was so p!ssed! in the last couple of weeks i've also had the pen on the lounge and texta on my walls and tiles! not to mention if D drops a biscuit on the floor M just HAS to go stomp on it. i know its an attention thing but its still frustrating.. i have been vaccing every day. some days twice. i hate stuff on the floors.. irks me big time. im so paranoid about people 'dropping in' that i have to be on top of things..
how many loads of washing is everyone doing? all i can say is thank god i have a dryer!! with a spewy bub its so constant.. im doing about 3 or 4 loads a day, some days more! so once kids are asleep at night i get to fold everything.. fun fun fun..
jaimie in answer to the 'big kids' question.. mine definately arent getting the attention they want. A's routine is all over the place and with the girls screaming and what ever else they arent letting her sleep.. if only they'd realise i could be with them more if they just calmed down.. try explaining that to a 16month old. and M is just at the perfect age for attention seeking.. she's knows how to push buttons.. but im sure it'll all fall into place soon. after all bubby is only 3weeks..
anyway gotta go..

Hmmm.... must be the time for restless March babies!!! Owen has pretty much been awake since 4am. I currently have him feeding in the sling while I type. He woke this morning at 4am, and fed as per normal, but instead of dropping back off to sleep, I put him down and 5 mins later he was grunting & wriggling around (he sleeps in the bassinet beside our bed). I let him go but it eventually turned into "crying" (Owen doesn't really cry so far, more of a more urgent, yelling kind of a grunt!!) So I picked him up, burped him, he pooed his nappy, I changed him, fed him again, popped him back down and 5 mins later we started all over again. It's now almost 12.30 and we've been on the same cycle since 4am!! Claire's been asleep since about 11.30 so I'm desperate for him now to have his usual 5 hour nap!!
Claire has been pretty good with Owen - she likes to stare at him a lot! But she has shown signs of jealousy, which I was surprised at, as I thought she'd have been too young for that. She cries sometimes when she sees us holding him, and has regressed quite a bit with her sleeping. (she's always had sleep issues, and it's only been in the past few months we'd made any real progress. Now that's all gone out the window!!) Also her volume knob seems to have broken off! She cannot do anything quietly and often has screaming tantrums (usually 2 seconds after I've managed to get Owen down for a sleep!) But all in all, she's not been too bad - she's very, very gentle with him, and hopefully the bad stuff will blow over in a few weeks time.

Morning girls!
Sarah - I dont have a problem with the brake on the P&T. Maybe check the wheels like LT said and if they are ok i would take it back. The last thing you want are dodgy brakes!
Thanks for the thoughts re my tooth. Its horrible i cant even open my mouth fully now! I know i should go to the dentist but i am very aware of how much it will cost! (saying that after buying arnette sunnies  )
Shezi - I too have a lot of washing to do. I have even more to fold though!
Amity is actually doing really well with Griffin which really surprised me. She loves nothing more than to help me with him and she loves giving him cuddles. If anything i have to tell her to leave him alone!
The other day she had one of his nappies on her baby doll and was carrying her doll and then also had her little bag on her arm. I think she was copying me!! So cute!
Well we are finally having Griffins baby shower today lol! So i had better go and tidy a few things up! Seeya!

I hear you all about the older kids.... its def all about attention. Its hard when you have bub in your arms alot and he wants things. I get frustrated that he climbs all around me when I'm feeding and I have to constantly guard her head from him. Logan loves to touch/kiss/cuddle her which I let him but I never leave her on the floor. I have thought about pulling out the port a cot so she can play in there and put the fly screen over it so he cant throw things in there but then I'm worried he will try and climb in there and fall on her!! Basically I can only get things done when they sleep and I try to get them to sleep together. I'm lucky Logan still has a midday sleep for 2-3hours. Feel for you girls who little ones dont have a day sleep  Oh Mrs Miggins Logan has also all of a sudden started screaming!! This drives me insane! He is improving though. Its so hard cause you cant blame them for feeling like they do, must be very difficult to adjust for them. I just have to be patient and try to spend one on one time with him too. Obviously it is worse when DH is at work.
Before I feed Jacey I make sure I have a water for myself and Logan (as he always wants mine), also a snack and a DVD on to keep him going. I cant wait until bub takes 10min to feed in total instead of half hour.
Well just trying to self settle Jacey now :fingerscrossed: she drops off to sleep on her own. Mind you she takes the dummy so I think its easier when they take the dummy. If she stirrs and kicks her legs up I will pick her up and she will usually burp and then I lay her back down. I really hope this works, beats nursing/pacing the floor like I did with Logan for 9 months!! Although I found this a great weight loss solution :D
LT that would be terrible. When Logan was a newborn we had a cement truck arrive next door to lay the slab for their house at 4.15am  Off I went in my PJs across the road and abused them. They are not allowed to start until 6am or something. I complained to council as well.
Lets hope tonight all bubs sleep well.

Hey Lana, your tooth sounds exactly like mine during the pregnancy and I went to the dentist (emergency call out) cost me $140 for her to open my mouth and say yep its infected here is a script for penacillan (sp??). I then went to the docs the following day and he said if it flared up again to go straight to him for the script. Which was great as its free. So book and appointment with your GP first as I'm sure you will need something. It took 5 days for it to get better and that was with medication. This time it hasnt got to that stage.
how many loads of washing is everyone doing? all i can say is thank god i have a dryer!! with a spewy bub its so constant.. im doing about 3 or 4 loads a day, some days more! so once kids are asleep at night i get to fold everything.. fun fun fun..
well, we only have one child and still doing a couple of loads a day! i used to only do my washing on saturdays!! we use cloth nappies for spews/dribbles/changemat cover and they are constantly in the wash. i bought another pack so i can wash them every second day now...
talking of washing, i have a load to hang out now while he is sleeping :)

Shezi.. I'm doing at least 4 loads a day.
One of those is nappies.
No drier.. 3 clothes horses though.

shezi - two to three loads per day - 3 clothes horses PLUS an inside wall clothes line in the laundry - which has been our best buy - Bunnings $90.
Plus even tho its hot in Perth, i use our dryer cos there are too many flies outside to hang clothes out there:thumbsdown:
Mrs Miggins - i am having the EXACT same thing with Alexander - we were up again from 10pm til 5am this morning - am nearly at my wits end, poor little thing just wont settle - and then if we do get him off to sleep he just grunts and screams in his sleep - i wonder what he is dreaming???
ok someone has to show me a link to the Arnette sunnies - i NEED to see them!

I wish O was more disinterested like Sam lol his starting to want to kiss her and wake her up so "See her eyes mumma they pretty!" lol
It doesnt help that his got a nasty cough so is coughing on her heaps!
RE: attention and toddlers ive actually lost it a couple of times with O this week whilst bfing and i hate rousing on him i know its just coz i am stressed!
His been pretty good though so cant complain too much!
LT ....thanks heaps for the tip its fixed:hugs:
Cant believe what kind of a night you would have had:no: hope tonights better!
Re: washing im not doing that much actually as bubs doesnt throw up much at all and this time round im not changing bubs clothes every second like a did with O lol
Lana....Amity sounds adorable!
Am really tired after a busy weekend and am going to try and plan a boring week so i can rest and get back into some sort of routine!
Have a good night girls.....heres hoping all the bubs are  tonight!

Mind you she takes the dummy so I think its easier when they take the dummy. If she stirrs and kicks her legs up I will pick her up and she will usually burp and then I lay her back down.
I have considered introducing the dummy as Leah is happy when sucking but with Sam everytime it fell out he would wake so I was holding it in his mouth for 8 hrs a day at 7 wks old. Have you had this prob?
I tried the "letting her cry" thing this morn and I just cant do it. I had a shower and when I got to her she had been crying real tears so was obviosly distressed not just complaining..... broke my heart. :crying: So I have decided just to go with it the next 8 weeks and give her what she needs and just take each day as it comes. Afterall this newborn part goes so quickly so may aswell make the most of it. I'll deal with the issues in a couple of minths.
Re washing.... I do a load a day but Leah isnt spewy and we have a massive machine.
Anyway must be off.

I feel so bad for getting cross at Monty last night. I was so mad at the car alarm and distressed and tired , he was being a teeny bit grizzly but wasn't his fault.
Gave him lots of love and kisses and read him some stories.
I FINALLY cut his fingernails too. He looked ike a drag queen.
I feel for you girls with crying babies, iit's the worst feeling in the world. I'm glad that if Monty is crying we know it's cause there is something actually wrong, he isn't wanting to be cuddled and have attention. It's either a burp, wet nappy or definitely hungry.
He has a "i'm putting myself to sleep" cry too which we know will end in about 5 minutes.
Glad your wheel/brake issue is fixed Sarah!
leah im with you with not letting bubs cry.. i still rub D's back till she's nodding off! and sat with M till she was over 2.
not the easiest thing with all 3 tho!

Yeah I can never let my bubs cry either - I have a soft heart. Tried it with DS at 4 weeks and it broke my heart so I just go with the flow too.
Annsam Jacey does spit the dummy a couple of times and I do have to go back in and put it in but once she's asleep and spits it out she doesnt wake for it.
I only introduced the dummy with DS when he was old enough to find it in the cot for himself. He wouldnt take it as a newborn
OK, well my little miss hasnt slept this arv, and Logan has been a terror, I cant wait for 6.45pm to roll around (DH gets home)

Hello everyone!
Exciting to post in march mummies! haven't had time or a free hand to read or reply to posts in last week or so. Will is 2 weeks today. amazing!
Just wondered if anyone has seen the dunstan baby language dvd? a friend bought it for me and we watched it on day 6 and it has been really helpful.
Am bottle feeding and love it. Fantastic that DH can get up for feeds during nite.My milk hadn't come thru by day 6 and Will was starving and i was feeding him constantly. He seems to love his formula (karicare gold).

Hi girls!
Wow you have chatted lots today!
Taryn - Thanks for the tip re seeing the doc first! I dont think its infected though as i always have probs with my wisdom teeth and was going to have the bottom two pulled anyway. mite just make an appt to have it out and if i need antibiotics get them then. Thanks tho!
I will let Griffin cry/whinge a little bit but when he really starts to cry i will go to him. Because he never cries any other time i know that when he does its because something is wrong, a bit like Monty.
I probably do one load of washing a day and that is for all of our clothes. I have one clothes horse and a dryer. I only really use the dryer for Sam's work clothes, towels and sheets though. (i like the way the dryer makes the towels and sheets stay soft!)
Well the late baby shower went really well today! We were still able to play some of the games and it was nice to catch up with everyone! I got some great pressies too! My SIL put in heaps of effort!

Glad to hear Will loves his tucker!
oh dear, i think i'm hooked on re runs of Outback Jack! Theres no much else to do at 2am when feeding!
LOL i remember with O he used to feed for an hour and then it would take me another hour to burp/nappy change and settle him so yeah i used to tape shows to watch as otherwise i would be stuck watching Benny Hinn (god forbid!) hehehehehe
This time round im lucky if Iris feeds for ten mins and then shes fast asleep again lol so i dont bother getting out of bed hehehehe i tell you the difference is unbelieveable!
The bad thing about it is though if i dont put her down straight after her feed (if O side tracks me or something) she gets unsettled and then needs a pat)
otherwise shes the sleeping beauty (her new nickname lol that or lil pea as her head is still very small!)
Having a great morning, Iris still asleep after her 4am feed and O is happy watching ABC kids (LOVE TV so much more now i have two!:o :D)
have a great Monday Mummies!

Yes I saw Outback Jack too last night. Its the first time I saw it though as Jacey usually wakes before then. I have seen the whole show though.

LOL shes now done three poos over night and this morning!
I might only massage her foot for 20secs next time LOL:laughing:
Mornign girls.
Well feeling quite good today. Leah woke twice in the night for feeds (compared to 6 times the night before) and grizzled a couple of times but put herself back to sleep..... so I know she CAN do it.
She was very wakeful yesterday and it took till 10.30pm to get her off to sleep finally but Im so glad she slept well. Mornings seem to be her unsettled period as DH and I have just spent an hour trying to pat her to sleep and finally I resorted to the dummy as shes just so overtired now. :fingerscrossed: she settles. Anyway, I suddenly remembered yesterday teh settling techniques we were taught with Sam so DH and I are using them today.
Sams a constant battle. Everything is an arguement with him at the moment. Thank god for daycare. Might regain some sanity today. Jealousy seems to be setting in though as he told the dog yesterday that DH is "My daddy".
Off to the hospital today for a weigh. She lost a bit much after birth so they wanted to reweigh her.
Does anyone elses breastfed baby poo lots and lots of watery poo? Leahs doing up to 8 a day.
tazzystone
26-03-2007, 10:24
Annsam, Jacey's poos are very watery too and she does lots and lots. I dont count but it would be about 8.
Does anyone's bubs have milk pimples?? Jacey has gotten heaps in the past couple of days but I just hope thats what they are and not heat rash. I dont think I overdress her at all though. She loves the cold and thats how she likes to sleep with air con on and one muslin wrap. During the day she wears a no sleeve no leg outfit and no singlet. At night she wears the little bonds (lsummer ones) no leg short sleeve with a singlet. Do you think that is too much. We have fan on and air con on though (she is not under the fan). Arrh its easier in winter I think.
Dont worry Annsam - Logan is a constant battle too! Yesterday I was ready to have NO more children. At least you get a break. I told DH last night if we have a third Logan will def be in day care - no way I could cope with three. Dont know how you do it Shezi.
Glad Leah slept well for you last night. Maybe good sleeping vibes hit all of our bubs??
Oh just weighed Jacey at 4 weeks old and she is 4.615kg. Not too long until she is out of the newborn nappies
Little_Toad
26-03-2007, 10:44
yeah Annsam, that's great leah slept so well.
iits nice knowing how long Monty is likely to sleep for at night time. he's got a pretty good pattern happening now at night but not day time is still splattered.
I am making some "night nappies" that i can put lots of boosters in as he does massive wees!
Is anyone else getting their little boys circumcised? i need to find someone in Sydney. Shame my dad is overseas, he could have done it.
tazzy, I was just going to ask about those little spots. They are tiny little white pimles with red around them... (on his face) I'm pretty sure it's normal.

Hi Kym,
Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you! Yes I think having had two cs before made me very relaxed as I knew what was happening and was able to ask for things such as skin to skin staright away, the sheet to be dropped even what anethetist to ask for. Also this time I had spinal morphine which I believe made my recovery even better than before.
In hind sight I wish I had given a VBAC more of a go for dd#2 but at the time after the drama of dd#1's birth still so fresh in my mind the elective cs gave me more control which I really needed at the time. After two cs there really was no choice for a third so if you ever want a natural birth the second one is the one to try it with.
No matter what I have three beautiful girls and we are all happy and healthy and I believe that is the only important thing in our world. Do i regret the cs, no, would I have liked to have had natural births, yes, but thats not how it worked so I dont let it bother me.
At the end of the day you have to do what is right for you at the time and on your ob's advice. Hope that helps.

Morning lovely ladies.
Anna - Yep griffin does lots of watery poos through out the day too.
I wish that Griffin had a sleepy night like the rest of your bubs! He did his usual 2.5 hourly feeds. Im coping ok with that though. I think i just need to learn to go to bed a bit earlier. Im a bit of a night owl (which isnt really practical when you have a breastfeeding newborn!)
Taryn - I dont think you are overdressing Jacey. What is the temperature over there?? Obviously pretty hot if you have the aircon on. I have been dressing Griffin in a long all in one with a just a muslin wrap over him most nights as it has been getting a bit cool but i always check him when he feeds. If he feels too cool or hot i just change him. As long as their chest isnt too hot or too cold they are good.

Hi girls!
We had the midwife visit today. Roxy has put on 85 grams since coming home which seems to be on track.
Well we had a bad night last night as Jazz spewed everywhere just before bed and then Roxy spewed too after a really big feed. I dont think Roxy was sick from Jazz i think she is just a chcker when she eats too much!
Havent caught up on post today so im sorry for not being up to date. Feels like you ladies are so far ahead of me! No body else popped at the same time i did! No word from Caithi yet? Hopefully its all going well for her and little Anais.

oh yeh, Harper is a poo machine, sloppy ones too!!
I think i just need to learn to go to bed a bit earlier. Im a bit of a night owl (which isnt really practical when you have a breastfeeding newborn!)
me too! i like to go to bed after 10 then i lay there watching tv for an hour or so... i've barely gone to sleep when he wants his midnight feed. we don't get up til 9/9.30 tho.
usually he feeds at 12, 3 and 6 but last night it was 1.30 and 5.30 WOO HOO!!
well an interesting day so far. took the girls food shopping and decided to buy some paints so me and M could do some painting together while the girls slept.. WELL i had a phone call from the specialist when i got home and the girls were watching nemo so i put the shopping away and talked for a few minutes walked back in to check on them as they were too quiet for my liking and guess what.. yep they'd opened the paints and covered my coffee table, floor rug & themselves.. i went nuts. sent M to the bathroom so she didnt drip on the carpet and cleaned up D first then went to clean up M and she had 'finger painted' the bathroom door, basin, bath and cupboard.. not a good day!
so then A decided she'd wake up and be in on the 'fun' so i was breastfeeding while wiping all the paint off everything and keeping D away from making more mess while M stood back and supervised with a grin! so cheeky..
anyway the specialist is for M's tonsils, had an appt at 11 but the lady rang to confirm my appt for 2.30?! what the! anyway we sorted that out then she rang again and asked who the referring dr was.. thing is they sent me a letter from when we were in the public system.. they got M's name off the list and offered to do the op (as we're now going private) so cant make the appt anyway without a referral.. big stuff around! so im thinking of just sticking with the dr we already have. but her op will be soon... pretty much when we want it.. the plus of private insurance. i just have to find out if A can stay at the hospital overnight with us as i will be with M.
we also went to look at another kindy for M, this one sounds promising.. M even walked a bit away from me and played with the trains(where as she usually clings to my hand the whole time) so we're thinking two mornings a week, 9-11 first day then 9-12. gradually stretch it out once she's settled.. definately gonna be harder on me i think..
mums cooking me a roast tonight! :D so my day is definately looking up!
Oh Shezi you poor thing! Id be pulling my hair out. Was`just sayimg to DH today I need to get Sam some craft things..... you've made me reconsider;) .
LT, Sam isnt circed but there were heaps of little boys at my hospital circed. Perhaps give them a call to ask? It was Hills Private. I got AF at about 4 weeks after Sam too.
Went to hosp today.... Leah has put on 260gms in 4 days! So happy. Signed up with the ECHC there too as I forgot they had one and I dont like our local one... I dont think the nurses like babies:confused: . Anyway the women at the hosp one are really lovely.
After a rocky start to the day with Leah unsettled she then put herself to sleep when we got home and slept for nearly 5 hrs:eek: . She actually stopped grizzling when I stopped patting her go figure. Fot me some sleep so that was good.
Anyway my boy is home. Have a good night girls.
p.s. re the poo..... apparently very normal.

Happy Birthday Shezi! happybirthday Glad you day started to look up after the paint incident! How sweet of Chris!!
Well Griffin did a nice projectile spew this morning! He isnt that great at getting his burps up so they build up and give him a tummy ache which either results in lots of squirming and farting or spewing! Any one have any other good ways to burp them other than sitting them up, over your shoulder or on their tummy over your legs?? Amity was really easy to burp!
Spent the day at the in-laws house with my SIL. Was a really nice day!
Oops, sam is home gotta go!

Shezi, hope you have had a wonderful birthday. So the girls were trying to make themselves a nicely wrapped present for yourself with paint hey!! How sweet ;) Did you take any pics??
Well Jacey has been great all day. Had excellent naps and just waiting for her to go off to sleep now, after having a long 4.5hr nap this arv which she hasnt done since she was 2 weeks old! :fingerscrossed: she only wakes up once tonight again.
Lana I find that because jacey is not falling asleep at the boob (except night feeds) she has a lot less tummy pains. When I lay her down awake, after a few min I go in there and if she is still sqirming I pick her up and everytime there will be a burp. Have you tried lying him flat for a couple of min and then picking him up and burping him. Are you still using infacol?? I find it makes Jacey do a big burp instead of a little one.
Ok well I better go and do some much needed ironing. I think there is a few baskets worth :crying: I hate ironing - I must find an ironing lady.
Sleeping vibes :wizard: to all bubbas
Hi girls,
Having a bad start to the night with Leah. She just wont settle. Seems to be a common thing. No issue settling on someone or in her rocker but put her in the bassinet and all hell breaks loose.:( Oh cr*p. There she goes again.... got to go. Short and sweet.
happybirthday Shezi hope you have a great night!
Jamie - We are only three days ahead of you so am with you feeling like the others are way ahead. Though in a month or two it all evens out.
Annsam - we are also having some unsettled times with Chloe. She is getting really bad tummy pains about 30 mins after feeds, pulls up her legs and cries in pain. The pain only lasts a minute or two but she gets it about 8 -9 times over an hour or so before she finally settles. Poor thing.
We had a really unsettled night on Sat. I realised I had seen every hour on the clock through the night except for 5am. Chloe was up for three feeds and was unsettled for an hour or so after each, Ruby got up and vomited twice through the night and then on the three am feed with Chloe a huge Huntsman spider wandered out from the fireplace. Dh was woken up and after 40 mins we finally had it out of the house and into the neighbours yard! At 4am I got the giggles and was just waiting for Tilly to get up and do something. She woke at 6am which was really 5am with daylight saving so I guess I did see 5am LOL!!!
I must say we are settling into feeds etc really well though Chloe is doing every 5-6 hours during the day and 4-5 hours at night so really need to swap that around. The girls love her and have been so good and gentle with her. Ruby holds her at least twice a day holding her on her lap for up to 30 mins stroking her head. Its so cute. Tilly has a new word "baby" and points and pats Chloe saying baby baby. I just hope it lasts.

Taryn - Im not using the infacol anymore as i was finding that it wasnt working BUT that mite be because i cant seem to get the right measurement in the stupid eye dropper! Griff will fall asleep on the boob and i will always burp him. If he wont burp i lay him down on his tummy for a while which sometimes work. And he is always on his back for a bit while i change his bum but even then it wont get a burp out of him. I will see if i can get a syringe to measure out the .2ml of infacol instead of using the eye dropper. maybe that will make a difference.
Anna - Hope the night gets better for you hun!
RTCsMum - Are you breastfeeding?? If so i am really jealous at how long Chloe goes between feeds!!
Hi guys, just reposted just in case we are all in this room now. Lv C
Hello lovely march mummas and mummas to be!
OMG!! Can I be more in love with something? I am completely over joyed and cant believe that such a beatiful little soul and experience could have come from me lol:yelclap:
Im sorry that I havent been on. I am so very much in love with her but have been desperately depressed over the past 6 days... Im not sure how I can be so happy about one thing yet so depressed about nothing- its really confusing. Feel like I am in a hole and that he is going to leave me for crying so much - I know it sounds stupid but I just feel like that.
Had a long labour which i actually enjoyed, have had some problems with bleeding but thats sort of under control now but I have not been very sucessful at breast feeding. Anyone have any tips? I have tooo much milk and very sore, cracked and blistered nipples. I am currently putting ice on them after feeds etc etc. Any help would be fantastic.
Love to you all and can someone fill me in ( if anyone has any "extra" time:rolleyes: lol ) on who popped?

Welcome back Caithi! Anais is absolutely gorgeous! What a beautiful head of hair she has! Re the beast feeding, if your nipples are sore have you considered getting some nipple shields so that they have time to heal?? Also the Lansinoh nipple ointment is great!! That is what i used the first few days to get rid of my blisters.
Hope you start to feel a bit brighter soon babe! Remember, it is a big shock to your mind and body having this new little bundle around! Things do get easier, i promise!
Shezi - YUM!!! I so want some of the pecan one!!

Love the pics Caithis.. you look great and have a gorgeous daughter.
Don't feel to desperate about being down, I had baby blues very badly up until 3 days ago. Sleep seriously helps! Just accept you'll feel like this for a few more days and don't look at it as your new permanent state of mind. It's just a temporay f'edness!
Monty just slept 6 hours!!! (longest session so far) I made some super duper night nappies as he was doing massive wees and waking up wet.
They work thank goodness and he's been sleeping longer.
He went down at 2 am, lets see if he sleeps till 7 am for me :) I've got a cold so hope he doesn't pick it up from me.

elmo - i have the same problem with the eye dropper - how **** is that! i got some syringes from my dr, but they start at 1ml, which doesnt help. try holding it up to the light?
caithi - love the pics - she is very "aware" isnt she...
RTCsMum - Are you breastfeeding?? If so i am really jealous at how long Chloe goes between feeds!!
Yep we are bf. Tilly also did these long stretches and the early childhood nurse wanted me to wake her and add another feed which threw us out of whak so am not going to muck around with Chloe as long as she is putting on weight. We did a similar routine last night with a 7pm, midnight and 5:30am feed.
I jinxed myself though yesterday by saying how Tilly was so good on sat night. She woke with a temp of 39.5 at 10:30 last night so sat up with her until the midnight feed for Chloe. LOL I am not going to say anything from now on!!
Thoughts and wishes to Frangi and Bluegin for today.
Shezi - Ooh can I have some peacan pie please yum! Good to hear you had a nice dinner.
Cathi - have posted to you in the old thread

Morning yummy mummies:kiss:
Anyone else co sleeping? Am loving it this time round, we did it with O for about a month but i could never get a good nights sleep (he was a really noisy sleeper)
BUT Iris is very quiet and we both get a great nights sleep plus i dont have to get up to her if shes a lil unsettled:thumbsup:
I also bought the Diaper nanny nappy disposable unit and its awesome much better then the tommee tippee **** i had last time round!
Have used my Hug a Bug only about three times so far.....I dont think im really the baby wearing kind:no: will perserver though as Iris seems to like it....i just wish she wasnt soooo heavy already!
I can tell shes putting on weight as her gorgeous lil fingers/hands are getting chubbier!
Have a gd day girls and bubs
Sxx
Sarah, I used my hug a bub last night when Leah was unsettled and she didn't like it much. Might have had it too tight. I found it comfy though.
Dont co-sleep routinely but now and again if shes unsettled in the night. I had her sleeping on my chest from 4am this morning which meant I got to sleep till 8am so happy about that.
The Midwife thinks Leah may have slient reflux. Would explain a bit I guess. She threw up an hour after her 2am feed last night. Projectile everywhere. Yuck. Shes not normally a spewy baby but she is much more settled being held upright than lying down.
On the other hand, she falls asleep on me after a feed and I just keep her up because "its too early to put her back to bed" and Im incapable of thinking logically at the moment so this morning it clicked and I put her back to bed when she started snoozing only 30 minutes after being up and so far shes sleeping ok :fingerscrossed: . Probably just jinxed myself. LOL.
Caithi, responded to your post in the "due in" thread. Beautiful pics btw. Lovely alert little girl.
BG and Frangi should be joining us after todya :yelclap: .
Anyway, my little boy needs me. Feeling a bit out of sorts at the moment I think.
Have a good day girls.
Anna- How on earth do you get to sleep till 8am?? Doenst Sam wake you, or does he sleep in till then? Shame about the reflux but at least it might explain her being unsettled.
Shezi-happybirthday For yesterday!! Im so sorry i forgot...sounds like you had a really nice night. Had to laugh at M and Ds painting tho!
Taryn- Sounds like Jacey is having nice stretches of sleep at night! Lucky you!!!:p
Gemma- I forgot you were a few days ahead of me. Chloe sounds lie she is doing well with her 2 big sisters! Jazz is the same and just loves to give her kisses. Roxy is doing a similar sleep pattern. Through the day she sleeps for hours and hours and only has small feed but then at night the sleep time is a bit shorter between feeds.
Well yesterday afernoon Jazz got home and had a really high temp and then Roxy spewed everywhere and we couldnt see a GP so had to go to ER. Jazz has an ear infection but Roxy seems to be fine, just a bit of a spewey babe. Then we got home and i went to bed at 8pm and told Dh to wake me when Roxy woke up (she had fallen asleep at &pm in her capsule) anyway i got to slepp until 11pm!!! I felt so good! Then i took her out to the lounge room to feed her which was great because it kept me awake watching tell. Normally i feed in bed but i get too sleepy so this seems to work well for us. She seems to wake evry 2.5hrs for a feed at night. Hopefully she will start sleeping longer at night soon!!
Hope your all having a nice day and all the bubs are being good!
Oh and i forgot to say that i posted some pics in the March photos thread! Will get some better ones up soon tho.
Oh and i weighed myself last night and have 5kgs to lose!! Thought it would be more like 10 so im very happy. Wish it wasnt all in my jelly belly though....:o

Hey ladies!
Gemma - Ok i am now so jealous! I want Griffin to sleep as long as Chloe!
Jaimie - Griffin sleeps the same amount of time as Roxy does between feeds. And i do the same, get up and sit in the lounge room. I dont bother turning the TV On though or i will end up sitting there and not going back to bed lol!
Firsttime - Hmm.. i might ask the paediatrician if he has a syringe of smaller amounts that i could have. I have tried holding it up to the light but every time ih ave to let some out i end up losing most of it!! So frustrating, especially in the middle of the night hey!
Sarah - Im not a big co-sleeper purely for the fact that Sam is a really deep sleeper and i sleep right on the edge of the bed so the only place for Griffin would be in the middle and i would just worry all night long. (Plus the little man is a serious grunter)!
Anna - Thats not good about the silent reflux. Is Leah just unhappy on her back?? Or being laid down in general? I found that Griffin hates laying on his back. he is the happiest on his tummy but at night i put him on his side.
Well i took Amity to the park today. I was meant to meet up with someone but they didnt show. She had fun though. I just put her to bed and read her 3 of her books. She seems to like that and it gives us some mummy and daughter time too.
Hopefully Frangi and Gin are holding their bubbas now!

Hey girls I have same prob with the dropper!! Whoever designed that was very silly! Lana have you tried any of the other brands like marina infant mixture or gripe water. Jacey had really bad pains about a week ago and I gave her a little bit of gripe water and it really worked I thought as the pains stopped after an hour or so and she finally went to sleep.
Jacey woke twice last night and being an angel today! I picked out her baby naming cake this morning - so cute. We are having it on Easter Sunday
Caithi - great pics, she is beautiful!
we are off to the clinic this arvo to weigh Harper, he is getting good'n'chubby so we think he's put on quite a bit :yelclap:
it was so cold here last night! i put mittens on H as his little hands were freezing and he HAS to have them out...

Taryn - Didnt think of trying a different brand lol. If i cant get a small syringe for it then i will go get a different one. Stupid eye droppers, they are bloody useless.
LL - Its still pretty cold now though hey! I am in trackies and a jumper! It was cold at the park today too. Really windy.
Gemma - The pics of Chloe are beautiful! The one of her being lifted out is awesome!!
Jaimie - Roxy is soo cute! Jazz looks adorable giving her a big cuddle!
OMG what a day! I have had the worst day today. Just having a major melt down. Sam is acting out so much I jsut want to throttle him. My housework is piling up and I cant get on top of it. Leah isn't settling, Im sleep deprived but cant sleep due to headache. A friend came over earlier with her two children and Sam threw a fit the whole time about them playing with his toys. They are the only kids he doesn't let play with his toys. I think hes too close to them iykwim. Anyway, had a major meltdown and no idea what I will do when DH goes back to work next week. :(
One good thing, I managed to convince DH we need a cleaner for a couple of months which is something we agreed to before I got pg but thought I could handle it.
And the fact my sister hasn't even bothered to call or anything since the baby has been born is really getting to me. I didn't expect her to as we had a bit of a falling out at Xmas but I thought she'd be a big enough person to be able to put behind her the fact that her son had to wait till 7am to open presents on Xmas morning while Sam slept  and at least be able to express some pleasure in teh fact she has a neice but apparently not. I feel like phoning her and telling her what a selfish b*tch she is. My mother says "im not getting involved" to which my response is that shes just sticking her head in the sand and perhaps she should get involved when its something as important as a family birth. Some family huh?
Anna- How on earth do you get to sleep till 8am?? Doenst Sam wake you, or does he sleep in till then? Shame about the reflux but at least it might explain her being unsettled.
DH got Sam up at 6am when he woke.
Anna - Thats not good about the silent reflux. Is Leah just unhappy on her back?? Or being laid down in general? I found that Griffin hates laying on his back. he is the happiest on his tummy but at night i put him on his side.
She doesn't mind being on her back but after a few minutes she gets white in her mouth (milk) then starts making funny faces and then starts crying. From memory its the sphinctal muscle in the gut doesn't close in some babies until a few weeks time so milk flows back. Not uncommon but unfortunate.

Anna.....sorry to hear your having one of those days hun!
AND sorry about your sis both of mine are really quiet cold too and it grates on me also!
Lana....we have the cot pushed up against the bed and Iris sleeps in that inside her snuggle bed as we only have a queen bed so not much room with DH in it lol saves the problem of accidently rolling on bub during the night etc
Sold my infinity pram today:(
Took the P&T out for a long walk and iris was great BUT O is a lil too tall for the sun cover lol his head rubs under the hood poor lil guy kept saying "mumma make it bigger!" must remember to put a hat on him next time!
iris fed at 10.30am and just woke now at 3.30pm love the big sleeps!

anna huge :hugs: i hope your day gets better and as for your sister.. well what a cow! and over something so petty:thumbsdown:
mikaelah does the 'acting out' stuff too.. frustrating isnt it. some days i just feel like im yelling constantly.. then i feel even worse..
sarah did you lose much money on the infinity? and how do you find the p&t??
i think im gonna buy a video camera and outdoor setting this week :D pram is next.. gotta go test drive a p&t first hehe.

Shezi....no didnt lose too much on the infinity thankgoodness!
The P&T is very narrow which i like its actually smaller then my other three wheeler (the beemaQ)
O is pretty soild kid so his head hits the roof of the sunshade but apart from that it handles very smoothly considering its 10kg plus carry 20kgs worht of kids lol
I was pretty impressed with it actually and am happy to not have ot run after O while still being able to get out and about.
The only downside is you need a big boot to fit it in the car but thats the case with heaps of prams these days.
Talk to Lana too though as i think she said shes selling hers already!
Sxx
Anna :hugs:  :hugs: What a day for you! Hopefully having a cleaner will help. And family issues are the last thing you need right now. And you will cope when Dh goes back! Seems so endless some days though doesnt it?
Ok I have aquick question! How much sleep is too much and should you wake them???? I know the rule is to not wake them but its hard when Roxy has been asleep most of the day, only waking breifly having a small feed then going back to sleep. Then she had another powerchuck this arvo...which im not too stressed over but just need some reassurance that sleeping so long is normal!!!:o I feel like a first time mum...have forgotten everythig i thought i knew.
went to the clinic, our chubba bubba has put on about half a kilo in 12 days :D
LL - Its still pretty cold now though hey! I am in trackies and a jumper! It was cold at the park today too. Really windy.
yep, i am wearing my slippers. got to go out later for mum's bday dinner, she wants to show Harper off to her friends. i would rather stay inside with my doona! told her i might just come for half an hour...

Anna - :hugs: Family members can be really harsh sometimes. And petty. Hope you feel better hun! Remember, it is her that is missing out on your beautiful little girl!
Jaimie - I was told that as long as bub still wakes for feeds that its ok. Griffin slept all day for the first 2 weeks and then he started to gradually become a bit more alert.
LL - Have fun going out! Im so glad i dont have to go anywhere!!
Did you all see Frangi's news in the other thread??

I usually put Will in bed with us if he is unsettled during the nite after feeding. I love it. It's so much easier than getting up to his bassinette when he needs a burp or whatever - especially as i am still a bit sore from the c-section.

Anna, you poor thing! :hugs: Sounds like you need a bit of a rest today. I hope yourr sister comes to her senses and stops being a big baby! How stressful for you. How great about getting a cleaner! I'd love a cleaner, but I can't see it happening. Without my wage, we're on a bit of a tight income.
JM, IKWYM about worrying about them when they sleep for so long, but some babies (especially when they're newborns) just need a lot of sleep. It's OK, and I wouldn't wake them unless you have to (like if you need to go out somewhere). Both my kids have slept for 4-5+ hours at a time as newborns and I gotta say that when they go through those stages where they wake every hour or two or just won't go down at all, you long for those big, big sleeps!!!
In fact we had one of those days yesterday. I ended up in tears (of frustration) on a few occasions! Owen woke every two hours during the night, which for him is heaps, as he generally only wakes once, twice at the most. Then Claire decided to wake up at 5.45!! She normally wakes up between 7 & 8. I'm glad DH was home yesterday morning to get her up. Then he went to work at 11, and Owen still hadn't gone down for a proper nap since being up at 5. At 12.15 just as I had fed him for the millionth time and he was nodding off, the stupid real estate woman showed up for our inspection and not only stopped Owen from going to sleep, but woke Claire up after only an hour's nap! I could have killed the woman!!! She knows we have young kids, but instead of just knocking on the door quietly (which was open and the lounge room is just near it - I'd have heard her), she banged loudly on the screen door then called "HELLLLLOOOOOOOOOO......!!!!" through it loudly not once, but twice!
Then after she left, as I'd finally just got Owen down again, the guy who mows our lawns shows up (he was meant to come on Monday) and woke Owen up again. So for the next two hours (we're on acreage), the lawn mower/whipper snipper kept him awake and if it wasn't that, it was Claire screaming, yelling and banging her toys around. Finally got him down again and DH rings. The phone unfortunately was right next to where I was laying him down, so again he woke up. Angry then at DH because he was calling for something that wasn't even slightly important!!
Eventually at 5pm, I managed to get him down for a decent nap, only for him to wake as I was serving up dinner. Tried again in vain to get him to sleep after a big feed and ended up eating my cold dinner alone (with the exception of a windy Owen in the rocker at my feet) at about 9pm while DH gave Claire a bath & put her to bed.
Owen finally managed to go down for a proper sleep just after midnight.
Great day yesterday!!!
So far today is running more smoothly, but I'm worried that Owen is becoming more sensitive to noise while he's sleeping. He used to sleep through practically anything! Claire is the world's lightest sleeper, so I was hoping for a heavy sleeper this time round!
Sorry for the whinge. I'm just tired!!
firstbub i've had all the girls done with the hand & feet moulds.. they turn out so beautiful.. M was 2 weeks, D was 4weeks & A was 2 weeks.
im thinking about doing what you're doing taryn and having a hand each of all girls in a frame with a pic.. will wait till A is a bit older, maybe 6months, so her hand is chubbier hehe.

Hi Girls,
Thanks for your sympathy yesterday. Was just one of those days.
Jaimie, apparently they are supposed to sleep about 14-16.5 hrs from week 0-4....... Leah is awake 14-16.5 hrs. Actually, things seem to be taking a turn for the better. I have introduced the dummy when shes really overtired and am reading her tired signs well now. Shes self settling a bit so is sleeping much much more the past 24 hrs or so. Took me 2 hrs to settle her after her 2am feed but thats only because she projectile vomited everywhere and had to be changed.
MrsM sounds like you need a virtual :hugs: too.
Congrats BG!!!! Cant wait to hear the news.

MrsM - :hugs: it is stressful when they wont sleep hey.
Just got back from Griffins paediatrician appt. He HAD a granuloma on his belly button but it seems to have fallen off and should heal apparently. Also, his bottom that is all red raw is really really bad nappy rash (he called it something dermatitis). He gave me some steroid cream and said that once it is gone to use Nappy Mate as a barrier cream. He said that he has found Nappy Mate to be the best because it is the thickest, and thats what you want in a barrier cream. thought you gals might like to know bout it! (it is cheaper than sudocrem too!)
Off to the dentist this arvo... :(

Lana....so it was a granuloma! glad to hear its fallen off without much hassle. Poor Griffin though with his sore bot bot! hope the cream helps heal it fast its awful when they are uncomfy!
Having an emotional day today, have cried twice already over the smallest things (my mum set me off need i say more) shes just so hard on O and it ****s me as she never says anything bad about my nephew its like he can do no wrong (even when his biting her hand and yelling at her lol she still manages to make him out to be a perfect angel!)
Im just sick of her expecting the world of O and getting frustrated with him when he acts like a normal two yr old boy!
Sorry vent over!
sxx
edited to add....I keep forgetting to ask this but here goes,
Any mums with older ones have any funny stories about their toddlers trying to latch on and have a bf???
O was asking for some at every feed but has kinda got the hint that his not getting any so has stopped asking!
DH at first told him yes he could have some (just to see what he would do!) and he actually got all excited and ran over to me lol he got a rude shock when i said NO! lol
Tell me im not alone and that other toddlers are just as curious/keen for a go lol
a friend of mine says im cruel for not giving O a go as his obviously keen BUT hey sometimes you have ot be cruel to be kind im sure he'll thank me later when his 16 lol

S - I haven't had that problem with Claire, but I think that's because she wouldn't remember being BF. I had to stop BF her early on. She was getting quite upset though seeing me feed Owen at first, but she appears to have gotten over it now (except when she's tired, she still wants me to pick her up while I'm feeding him, which of course I can't do!)

Sarah - Yep! It sure was. I didnt actually notice it when it was there, just now that the inner bit is hard. Hopefully it will just go away.
Amity doesnt want to latch on but she was only bf herself for 2 1/2 weeks. When I was a baby though apparently my brother always asked my mum for some so she squirted some into his mouth!! He didnt like it very much lol!
MrsM - Amity always wants a cuddle when she is tired and im feeding Griffin too. I just sit on the big sofa now and have her on the other side of me and put my arm around her. She seems pretty happy with that.
Shezi - What a bugger you dont like the green one lol! You could have had a bargain!!

If I feed Owen in the lounge room, I usually sit in the armchair, as it's easier. Sometimes I do sit on the couch though, if I know Claire will want to climb up, as she can get up there on her own (but still wants to be lifted up!!)
I wish I could put my arm around her & give her a cuddle while I'm BF, but I need two hands to do a proper job of it!
Hey Ladies,
Finally got a chance to jump online! Life is pretty tough at the moment, I am tring to work things out with Madi but can't stop crying!!!!!! It all started when I stopped breast feeding cause of the infection, felt very bad like I let her down. She is loving the formula and has finally put on weight so that's a bonus. Her feeding partern is about every 3 to 4 hours so pretty happy with that.
I never knew it was going to be this hard, all the mums with other children sure must be busy - I don't know how you do it. I am just hoping it gets easier.
Is there anything I can give Madison for constipation? She grunts alot but does do poos so is that constipation or just the way she poos? The child health nurse said 1 teaspoon of brown sugar with 30ml of water - sugar for a newborn sounds bad to me. She is 13 days old today and I gave her 30mls of water between a feed cause she was grizzly - has anyone else done this?
Formula Mums - Madi is meant to be drinking 100mls at each feed and keeps falling asleep after 30 - 40mls - is this ok - she refuses to drink anymore then this. Some times she will have 50 - 70mls but never a full bottle - anyone else have this problem?
Sorry for the ME post, really desperate for some help. I have called her paediatrician, seen a health nurse taken her to the doctor and everyone keeps telling me different things.........

:hugs: It does get easier and real soon. This period doesn't last long and as soon as you think you've got it figured, they change again. Just roll with it. I know how you feel though, I felt the same way with Sam and to a lesser extent this time again.
Re letting her down, dont stress! Shes not suffering and you're not doing yourself any favours. Again, I know how you feel - this is the guilt I went through when I stopped expressing for Sam.
Re the drinking, Sam NEVER took the recommended dosage. He would drink much much less. And it is only a recommended dosage, not an essential so just be led by baby. Make up slightly more than she takes - she should leave some in the bottle to tell you shes full and dont forget that sometimes they take different amounts depending on the time of day. I remember Sam would take 90ml at one feed and 40ml at another.
Sarah, Hope you feel better hon.
Lana, hope little Griffin feels better real soon. Doesn't sound nice at all.
Ok, gotta go. Was just checking my email. Boy am I getting inundated with requests for doula stuff at the moment. Its good but not practical unfortuantely.
Anyway, dinner is burning. Will be back for a proper read later. Sorry to those I missed.
Have a good night girls.

M2B ... Toadlet is drinking nearlly 200 mls every feed now and falls asleep sometimes. Takes about an hour to get it done now.
A good way to wake him up is put a wet wipe on his bottom! Face washer on his face or tickle his feet.
I never knew it was going to be this hard, all the mums with other children sure must be busy - I don't know how you do it. I am just hoping it gets easier.
Same same M2B..but now after three weeks I feel like it's ok. I hjad some tears last night cause I was tired though. Hope it gets beeter for you soon.
nemo'smum.. I am the same as you. My mother is here (not staying with me though) and I'm going nuts! She is contantly talking AT me.. not conversation at all. Mindlee **** about designer clothes and other things I couldn't be less interested in.
I work from home and have for the last 7 years.. I am so used to my own company its very hard having someone else around. Atleast Monty isn't talking yet!
I'm sure she even woke him up last night too. i saw him fast asleep 30 seconds before she came out of the bedroom with him in her arms... he was asleep the whole feed. VERY suspiscious.
Annsam.. your nappy has ben sent! You will need a small prefold (narrow) to fit inside it.
I had an old man give me a dirty look today when he saw I was bottle feeding... GRRRR. Could have slapped the old queen across the face with Monty's pooey nappy.

Ahh! Im lucky as my sofa has arms on each end so i sit at the end with arm that corresponds to whichever side im feeding on. AND Even with my milk in my boobs still arent massive (12C) so i am lucky enough to be able to hold him in the crook of my arm with ease.
M2B - BIG :hugs: It does get better hun! Dont feel bad for not breastfeeding, I didnt with Amity and she thrived on formula! As LT said, if you need to wake him up to try and feed more just change his nappy halfway through, that usually always works!
Anna - Although not practical, thats great about so much interest in your doula work!
Well i went to the dentist and she cleaned out my gum where the wisdom tooth is (as its infected). I have to go have an xray done and then go see an Oral Surgeon to have them both removed as they arent completely through. I just hang to make an appt and the earliest they can get me in is 19th June!!! That is like 10 whole weeks away!!
well, today was Harper's first trip to Garden City (big shopping centre) and he was soooo good! mum and i were there for about 3 1/2 hours which i didn't expect, thought we were just going to grb my new top for a wedding this weekend and then have to leave but we were able to stay for lunch and do lots of shopping! we took him into the parents room at david jones for his feed. he was such an angel, i was so happy. bought him some more long sleeve clothes as most of his little clothes are too summery for the current weather.
of course he totally spat it when we got home and he wanted another feed, wouldn't suck properly etc. but at least he was well-behaved in public lol.
didn't end up at mum's bday dinner last night, he started to cry in the car and he was hungry so i just came home :)

thanks. its cool how he and Monty share a bday :)
have you weighed Monty lately? Harper has put on about 430g from his birth weight (3404g/7lb 8oz). he went down a bit in hospital so i was so pleased with his recent chunking up!

Yeah, OK! I'm envious now!!! That's one of the (many, many) things I hate about having big boobs!! It makes BF so bloody difficult!! At the moment before Owen has a feed & I'm full up, I am overflowing my 18E bras. Grrrrrr!!!! Oh, to have a normal sized chest!!!
M2B, I remember feeling just exactly how you have described when Claire was first born. Rest assured, it does get easier, and it will all feel much better very, very soon. I remember that magical 6-week mark with Claire was a huge turning point for me. We had tried for such a long, long time to fall PG and now that I had my much desired baby, I felt like I'd made a huge mistake and often thought "What was I thinking?!! I can't do this!!" Once she was 6 weeks old, I felt like a new woman & was ready to think about having another!
As for the constipation, I would just see how she goes. I thought Claire was constipated because she would only poo every 3-4 days and seemed to have an awful lot of trouble with it, but her poos were still soft. If her poos are not hard, then she's not constipated.
Owen grunts like a madman when he poos and he poos about 170 times a day!!
Oh, and about the formula, Claire never, ever had the recommended amount on the tin. Her CHN said she wished companies wouldn't even put the recommended amounts on there at all, as it caused so much worry for parents. No babies are the same, no two babies have exactly the same amount of breast milk, and therefore no two babies will have the same requirements when it comes to formula either. Just be guided by your baby & feed her on demand the same as if you were BF.
:hugs: to you! I promise you it will get easier soon!!
M2B :hugs: you arent letting Madi down at all. you are doing whats best for the two of you! its so hard with emotions all over the place but please dont feel bad for bottle feeding. you're an amazing mummy!!
lana thats terrible about your teeth.. i refuse to cancel our health insurance for that exact reason.. something always seems to come up.. i hate having to pay $170 a month though.. its pathetic! probably makes more sense to not have insurance and just pay privately for whatever comes up.. no doubt would be cheaper long term!!! maybe keep ringing incase theres a cancellation?!!? 10weeks is way too long to wait!
 LT at the old man.. i get the same but coz i breastfeed! its like 'hello dont like it then dont look!' i wont always use a blanket to cover my boob and bubs head coz my girls dont like their faces to be covered up while feeding.. im good at not flashing tho! you'd see more if i was wearing a bikini! some people are so rude!
as for where to breastfeed i used to feed in my recliner in the lounge room until D learnt that if she swung on the foot rest part it pulls the chair down enough for her to swing herself up on! lol. lately though with the kids being so full on my usually feeding on the run.. litterally.. well ok a fast walk.
the antics my girls are getting upto are pretty bad.. i will take a pic of D's face in the morning to show ya's but today she thought it would be fun to climb the chair at the computer and attempt to climb on the computer desk.. ofcourse falling and she had a dummy in her mouth so she's split the skin above her lip and under her nose on the side.. not good! and she got a bruise on her head coz she landed on tiles!! she also climbs on hers & M's mini table and chairs and got into her highchair today!! i swear my house is going to be empty soon, never realised how dangerous furniture is!
its coz D is a little dare devil.. both the girls climb from the 3 seater lounge to the recliners.. there's a decent gap between the seats too! and keep in mind D is only 75cms! but if M can do it D will follow..
i just feel so terrible.. i was feeding A when she fell but tried to catch her as she was quiet so i came to check on her coz she was playing in the toy room and i had got bub out the cot and put her on the boob, checked on M(who i think has caught chris's bug..:( )as she was laying on the lounge then walked out and D was flying up the chair..
atleast im learning new skills i guess.. i can now breastfeed, hold a toddler and put shoes & socks on M while answering the phone..
Aalivyah has decided she doesnt want to sleep in her cot through the day but only on me.. all my girls have done this but its impossible this time around.. i feel so bad.. might have to use the baby bjorn carrier more.. atleast i'll have my hands free.
mum is having M & D tomorrow coz she's sending me shopping with my sister and A ofcourse.. as my sisters boys are in school and her twins are in daycare so we're going to hit the shops for the morning as mum gave us both money for our bdays(sisters is april 8th - easter haha) its so silly but we're going to the shops near her so about 50minutes from me and im stressing already about leaving the girls.. i hate it.. it cant be normal! they're gonna be with mum who they run an absolute muck with and have so much fun but i just hate being away from them. what is wrong with me?! its only a few hours!

Yeah im going to ring the actual dentist tomoro and see if there is another oral surgeon i can see. Its way too long to have to wait!

ITS the best thing ive bought so far!
M2B....:hugs: its harder then it looks huh but it does get easier try and enjoy bubs while you can coz they grow so fast you blink and this tiem will be gone!
I did not get 5mins to really enjoy O as a bub and i regret it heaps!
Lana...poor thing i can still remember what an infected wisdom tooth feels like:gloomy: not nice when your trying to deal with a new bub and a toddler!
I remember being a real b**** to live with!
LT....Mothers gotta love em but you dont always have to like em hehehehe
My mum tries to wake Iris up too BUT thankfully Iris doesnt even stir lol
Shezi....gd luck hun with the day care
DH is applying for two jobs one in QLD and one about 1.5hrs from where we live now.....Im so torn as i really hope he gets one of them as its a huge pay increase and goodness knows we need the $ (as i dont plan on going back to work after my maternity leave runs out!) BUT i kinda hope he doesnt get them as well as i dont think i would cope being away from my family/friends right now!

Morning all,
Well Leah decided she'd slept enough through the day yesterday so who needs sleep at night? I have had about a whole 3 hrs sleep. Tossed the dummy as I was using that to calm her but now shes started waking when it falls out which I think was a great deal of last nights issues so thats out the window. Taken an eternity to settle her today but :fingerscrossed: she settles now. Shes awake but calm in her bassinet so lets hope she goes to sleep. Mummy needs sleeppppp.
LT, how exciting. Thanks so much. Cant wait to get it.
M2B, how you feeling today?
Lana, you poor thing! Hope your tooth heals quickly.
Shezi, It takes practice leaving your kids. Took me ages to be comfortable leaving Sam with DH and thats his father! Go enjoy your day.
As for the bottle feeding / breast feeding thing. I dont recall ever getting dirty looks for bottle feeding but then again, I probably wasn't looking. Wont be covering bubs face to breastfeed though. Dont think its right you should 'have' to cover your childs face so that others wont be offended at you feeding her. Havne't breastfed in public yet though.....actually, Ive only been out once in public with her so far.
Getting photos taken in the weekend. A friend of a friend is starting a professional business and wanted to take photos for her portfolio so we get some nice newborn ones done for free. :yelclap:
Anyone else finding it tough getting organised in the mornings? Wonder if it will get better when DH goes back to work. Its 10am and DH and DS are still in their pj's. :o
Ok, gotta go have some breakfast.
Can anyone help? Roxy doesnt seem to want to feed. She was up from 6-9pm last night and was having little bits of boob but then slept till 1 and had a decent feed then chcked it up. Then she woke at 5 and only fed a couple of minutes then back to sleep till about 9, then had a fewminuts feed then feed for a few minutes at 10:30. I really dont know what to do as even when she is awake she isnt overly intersted. she is doing wet nappies and poos but she just seems to want to sleep and only feed for a few minutes each time. HELP! Am supposed to weigh her again tomorrow at the clinic as the lady said she seems fine but im still really worried.
sorry for the me post. im just freaking out.

If she's still weeing & pooing OK and doesn't have a fever or seem otherwise unwell, she may just be in need of some sleep.
If you're worried though, there's no harm in taking her to the clinic/GP and getting a professional opinion.
Thanks MrsM:hugs:

Jaimie - I agree with MrsM, the professionals say that as long as she is still having wet nappies all is good BUT there is no harm in getting her checked out. No doctor is going to tell you off for worrying about your newborn.
Anna - :hugs: You poor thing! Its a good thing that DH is home to help you out with Sam. Hopefully you will get some sleep today. Maybe try and let Leah only have short sleeps so that she will sleep tonight.
Sarah - Its a hard thing having to move away from your family hey. I believe that everything happens for a reason though so im sure it will all work out for you guys! :hugs:
Well last night Griffin refused to self settle. I ended up having to lay in bed with him on my chest to get him to sleep. It only took about 5 mins before he was out like a light! Thankfully he was ok during the night.

Can anyone help? Roxy doesnt seem to want to feed.
Leah sometimes has 20 minutes and other times no more than 5 minutes and it does her fine. I have very fast flow apparently so she doesn't need to suck forever. Maybe you have the same thing?? Good luck at the Drs. Scary when they are so little isn't it?

Sleep? Ive been trying since about 8am to get her to sleep - its now 2.30pm. Shes dozing but wakes up and wont go back until shes got something to suck be it boob, finger or dummy. God damn those dummies! (and a lazy mummy who thought it would solve the having to spend hours trying to settle her :o ).
Happy birthday to Amity!
Dreamed last night I got pg straight away  . Scary stuff.
:hugs: :hugs: Thanks so much for all your replies ladies. I really appreciated all your help, thanks so much. It feels so good to know everything I am going through is 'normal'.
Well I called the paeditrician and he recommended that I change formulas to NAN HA and she loves it, she is drinking almost a full bottle each time and sleeping really well. I tried all the tricks to keep her awake during her feeds and it worked so well - thanks ladies! She is doing lots of wet nappies so that's a good sign. She is still grunting when pooing but her poo is not hard so I guess that is ok. I feel soooooo much better today!
 happybirthday To Amity for tomorrow! Big 2 year old! Tomorrow is my due date for Madison, so it's a fantastic date indeed!
LT I get looks all the time and comments about bottlefeeding - it is so frustrating
I hope Roxy's appointment went ok today, I hope her feeding is well, it's so scary not knowing what's happening with them - as I am learning.

M2B.. fantastic things are better.
it's funny how things are only as good as the last feed/sleep session.
Dp and I had a laugh about Monty last night, making fun of his silly girly cry when he does a poo and the weird faces he pulls. Helps to enjoy them too and have a giggle over them.
Had to put up with my mother again for a few hours today. Thank god my brother has taken her out to dinner so she left a bit earlier than yesterday.
Didn't manage to get out today cause of the rain.. meanwhile waiting for about 30 nappies to dry!!
Hope you have a fantsic day with Amity Lana.. have you got anything planned?
Waiting for DP to get home so I can go climbing with his ex wife.
M2B- Great news re. feeding Madison. Sounds like she is doing much better now.
Lana-happybirthday for Amity tomorrow!! 2yrs old!! What a big girl! Hope you all have a lovely day together.
Anna- Hope Leah had a good nap today...and you too! Dummies are one of those things that can either be really good or really bad.
LT- Thats so cute about you two laughing at Monty!!! Hope you had anice climb.
GP said Roxy seems fine so i will see how much weight she has put on tomorrow but i think she is fine. thanks for your :hugs: girls! So glad i have somewhere i can come when im not sure what is happening and i know you wonderful mummas are always here! Big  to you all!!!
Dp and I had a laugh about Monty last night, making fun of his silly girly cry when he does a poo and the weird faces he pulls. Helps to enjoy them too and have a giggle over them.
we laugh about Harper too - when he goes cross-eyed, and poor kid has inherited my family's sticky-out ears. they seemed flat but they stick out more each day. DH called him 'wingnut'!!
he is currently sucking on hs first dummy :( i didn't want him to have one yet as he still can't b/f without the nipple shield and also he has 3-4 bottles of expressed milk each day so i feel like he sucks so much plastic as is! but the last 3 nights, he has wanted to feed hourly or more in the evenings and crying a lot so i thought i'd try a dummy. he was silent immediately and asleep within 10 minutes. i guess its a good thing coz he was so worked up last night (til 1.30am!) but i still feel disappointed...
question about expressed breastmilk - my DH says it is ok to mix together milk that was expressed at different times but for some reason i can't remember, i thought it wasn't so i've told him not to. does anyone know? coz it can be a real pain if i have 30ml in two different containers and have to do them as two bottles.
thanks :)

LL - i think it depends on when you expressed both of those amounts. if you expressed close together then i dont see a problem adding to it.
everywhere i read something it tells me different information.
ive got lots of little amounts in my freezer, lucky i bought stacks of the avent storage cups, found them cheap at Chemist Warehouse in North Perth.
i know you can add to each other in the freezer (although i havent done it), as long as the new amount is cooled in the fridge before adding to the frozen amount.

LL - You can definitely combine milk expressed at different times, provided you first get the freshly expressed milk to the same temperature as the previously expressed milk. So for instance, you may express 30mL in the morning and pop it in the fridge to be used the following day. That night, you express 40mL. Just put the 40mL in the fridge also, and when you're ready to use the 70mL together, you can pour them both into the same container. You can't just tip warm, freshly expressed milk into a container of chilled, previously expressed milk because you then increase the temperature and raise the chance of bacteria. HTH
IKWYM about the dummy too. I have been seriously considering trying Owen with one, but I want to avoid it if I can. I have no problem with them (we tried & tried to get Claire to take one when she was little, but she refused it) but I would prefer he didn't have one if we can avoid it. He is doing a great job BF, which is fantastic, but I know people who've used them and have problems where they have to get up in the middle of the night several times because the dummy's fallen out! That would be awful!
We had a bit of a shocker with Owen last night. I mean, I shouldn't really complain because he is such a good baby and compared to what we went through with Claire as a newborn, this is nothing! But he just couldn't sleep last night! He doesn't really cry, so we're thankful for that, but he lay in his bassinet beside our bed, grunting and moaning, flailing his arms and legs about. He has such huge problems getting rid of his wind! I can't wait until it gets easier for him. I'd feed him and he'd fall asleep, but as soon as I tried to lay him down, it'd start. So I'd sit on the edge of the bed, gently rocking his bassinet and he'd calm down a bit, but he still couldn't get the wind up and couldn't fall asleep. Then after about half an hour or so of this, I'd pick him up and again he'd want another feed. It just went on all night! In the end at about 4.30am, DH went & got the snuggle bed and propped it up on some pillows so the head of it was slightly raised, put him in that & then DH went & slept on the couch. Owen eventually managed to sleep a bit. He woke about 8.30 and I've managed to get him down again after a feed, so I think he's pretty tired!
DH had to take our greyhound down to a vet in Brisbane, so he let me sleep in this morning while he looked after Claire, then he arranged for her to go to mum & dad's until he gets back later this afternoon. She is going to have a ball there - they just got a new puppy yesterday!
I hope you all had better nights!!

Thanks Shezi!!
MrsM - I so sympathise with what you are going through with Owen not being able to sleep because of wind. Griffin does the same thing some nights. He doesnt really cry either, just grunts although that can be just as annoying lol! If Griffin has a really bad tummy ache sometimes lying him on his tummy helps him to fart it out. Maybe that wold help Owen if you havent already tried it (although im sure you have!)
Sarah - Im glad your DH realised he had forgotten O and came back to get him! Enjoy your toddler free day babe!
ETA: LT - Not a great deal planned for during the day. My SIL and nephew are coming over today for a play (the kids not us adults lol) and then we are off to the In-laws for tea tonight and some cake! Should be fun!

Yeah, we have tried the tummy thing. It does work a bit, but not enough to settle him fully. Owen will just grunt & wriggle away in his bassinet, but we can't just leave him to it because eventually he does work up to (his version of) crying. I just don't want to upset him any more than he already is! If I gently rock the bassinet he still grunts & carries on, but doesn't seem to get so worked up. Unfortunately it just means no sleep for mummy!!

 Happy b'day Miss Amity:party:
Dummies.....we had one for O and we have one for I too as both my bubs are big (I think Iris is the biggest March baby!) and loooove to suck!
With O it was great coz he happily refused to take the dummy after 8mths so we are hoping miss Iris will be the same.
I am wary of them though as they can do alot of damage to lil teeth if kept around for too long etc
that and the bottle after 2yrs can cause big problems!
Having a good day although Iris hasnt slept much, but she just lies awake happily so cant complain.
Whats everyone doing for Easter next week?

happybirthday Amity!! Have a wonerful day.
Dumies: On night 5 with Monty I was desperate and gave him one.. thankfully he didn't like it.
I felt very tired and down yesterday and this morning.. anyone else still suffering from the baby blues?
i don't think having my mother in Sydney is helping.
I am now skinnier than before Monty was conceived.. not deliberately but need to eat!
Sarah.. I hadb't even thought of Easter! I was thinking the other day, I don't get weekends now :( Every day is the same from now on.
Afternoon girls.
How long can a newborn seriously go without sleep for?? I'll tell you - 36 hours so far! Actually, shes a bit better today but yesterday - Oh My God! That was hell. All day I didn't get more than about 30 minutes out of her and through last night and the night before no more than 2 hrs. Called the lactation consulatant at the hospital this morning as I have an appt with her next Thu and explained a little about whats going on so Im off to see her tomorrow at lunchtime so she can see how Leah is feeding and whats going on. *sigh*.
question about expressed breastmilk - my DH says it is ok to mix together milk that was expressed at different times but for some reason i can't remember, i thought it wasn't so i've told him not to. does anyone know?
I read in the info from the hospital that if its in the fridge it can stay there for 5 days so if you express some on day 1 and some on day 4 and want to mix it together then you need to do it by day 5.
He is doing a great job BF, which is fantastic, but I know people who've used them and have problems where they have to get up in the middle of the night several times because the dummy's fallen out! That would be awful!
Yeah, thats the issue we have and had with DS.
I felt very tired and down yesterday and this morning.. anyone else still suffering from the baby blues?
Yip - off and on it gets all a bit overwhelming.
Happy Birthday Amity!
Cant remember what else. Sleep dep setting in.
Have a good avo girls
Whats everyone doing for Easter next week?
we've been invited to a 'seafood feast' for good friday which will be yummy! we love seafood, everyone is taking a plate so there will be lots of different things to eat. DH is making chilli & garlic baby squid - mmmmmm :D
other than that, no plans but i assume there will be a relly bash or two.
happybirthday Amity! :wizard:
LANA - have a great day with your big two year old :smiliedance:
i hope yous all get some sleep soon!
i got up a couple of times to the older ones last night as they've got chris's bug.. but aalivyah pretty much only has two feeds through the night then one at 5 or 6am.. this morning tho she decided she didnt want to go back to sleep at 5 so once chris left at 6 i put her on his side of the bed and went back to sleep till Danielah got me up at 7 hehe and A was still awake kicking about! hehe
LT yep get used to the days blending in together! it gets pretty bad at times.. i still forget what day it is! thought it was the weekend already lol.
easter plans well its my sisters birthday on the sunday!! so we're having a easter/birthday breaky at mum & dads. everyones going seperate ways after that to see their 'other halfs' family but chris's parents are working away again so we'll prob take the kids to the park.
ok i gotta share!! chris and i have decided to throw a "suprise wedding" :D its working out everything on my own that is throwing me!! we had planned to get married in september or october but my brother is moving over from brissy in novmber so that stuffed that up coz i want him and his family here and chris is heading off to new zealand on the 17th of december till the 30th with his family so we're thinking of doing it the 15th coz we cant surprise his family any other time as they're likely to fly out for work the day before  hehe.
we're gonna have immediate family only so now its finding a place.. we're thinking park/lake/beach.. somewhere outside but ideally it'd be somewhere that had a restaurant so we could say we're going out for a meal then spring it on everyone and eat afterwards.. any ideas?!?! this all came about coz i wont let chris wear a tux lol!

Shezi thats so neat! Wow you really are wonder woman having three young children and a wedding all in 1 year!
Well girls, Ive just discovered the joy of hug-a-bub. Last time I tried it Leah didn't like it. Now shes nestled into my chest fast asleep FINALLY and I have two hands free.
Ok, off to do a bit of housework before my boys get home.
Edited to add, LT, the nappy arrived today and its just gorgous! I'll take a photo of leah with it on and send it thought..... when I get 5 minutes to sort the photos that is. Thank you so much. :hugs:

great idea! thanx for that. i didnt even realise there were restaurants in kings park :o
anna is the hugabub a sling? or more like a baby bjorn style carrier? im loving the bb carrier this time around.. much easier with 2 hands free to do everything else.
ok just a quick post coz D woke a little bit ago and definately is in the worst of chris's bug.. im not impressed.. poor little chicken. i knew i shouldve made chris go to his mums! thing is my girls refuse medicine.. M will take it if she's really really sick but only like 4 or 5mls when she should have 9ml but D just refuses no matter how bad she gets... very frustrating!!
Shezi, its both. Its a sling as in its material but you can use it in various positions and the newborn position has it going over both shoulders and cocooning the baby.
Take a look at their website http://www.hugabub.com/flex/position_hugabub/88/1

Thats great annsam. Put a smal prefold in it. Good day time nappy.
I just had to make some night time nappies with more space cause he wees so much and I need to add more stuffing. I can send you a prefold if you like.. I just bought some boosters so have some spare now.
DPs ex wife gave me a hugabub and I didnt like it.. toadlets head was slipping out the side and his head was falling back alot. I prefer the baby bjorn.. even though that isn't overly comfortable for me.
His fourth time in it now (as we speak) and he's still asleep after 2 hours. We went walking and I find it helps with burping him the next few feeds later.

Hey ladies! You have Been chatty today!!
Well Amity has loved the presents that she has gotten so far (she doesnt get the one from us until Sam gets home). She has gotten some PJ's and a book from MY Grandma and Granddad, a cute little outfit from her Nana and Pop (my dad & step-mum) and an awesome Dora the Explorer tea party set and DVD from Aunty Mel and the gang!! She loved that one! Her and her cousin Joel were playing with it as they both love Dora!
I just printed off some pictures for her to colour in off the Huggies webiste. Her present from us revolves around her love of drawing.
Better go wrap her present while she is still in bed lol!
Ok, think I have this photobucket sorted. Heres some Leah and tired mum photos....... I hope.:o

Wow Annsam!! You look lovely.. just how I imagined and Leah is gorgeous.
Lovely family :)
love the pics anna!
Thats wonderful news Shezi. Lovely way to get married.
thanx, i think so too. now i've just got to keep my mouth shut till december hehe.
we wanted to do it this way coz we dont want presents or anything like that.. and we dont want our parents paying which they would definately want to do. its a bad time of year with christmas and my parents 10grandkids being born between nov and feb but to surprise them all we have no choice..
i completely forgot to say but yesterday while doing my food shop i was told by some lady who was about 60 not to have anymore kids as im being selfish!! i was so peeved but kept my mouth shut coz i had ALOT of shopping so couldnt run lol. but she was being so loud and saying i should get them off to a good start in life and they cost money.. and how cute they are as babies but they grow up quickly.. yadda yadda yadda.. i had to deal with the with A in the bb carrier and loading a trolley full at the checkout so i ignored her then at the end she said oh but dont let me put you off.. i turned around and said dont worry you havent. im still having my 4! lol the lady at the checkout laughed.. i felt for her coz she has 4 and the oldest is only 11 imagine what the lady would have said to her! hehe.
i was just so angry.. i wish money wasnt the number 1 priority! i would pick to have my siblings over any amount of money and my girls arent deprived of anything.. yes it does get expensive when they get older but we'll deal with it as it comes.. even if we had all the money in the world i wouldnt give them everything as they wanted it.. life isnt like that! i think it mainly sh!tted me coz she doesnt know me. she has no idea what kind of mother i am and where we live, what money chris earns.. nothing and she's telling me how many kids im 'allowed'?! i said to mum if only A was a little older i wouldve turned around and said i was preg!
anyway thats my vent! hehe.
Great photos Anna! Sam and Leah are both such cuties!! For some reason i thought you were really blonde!!
Lana- Sounds like Amity was spoiled! Hope you all had a fantastic day.
Shezi- The surprise wedding sounds so exciting!! No idea how you manage to get anything done with three let alone plan a wedding!
Ok well i feel like i dont have a baby because all she does is sleep!! Im sure it wont last but im not kidding when i say she slept most of the day. Jazz is being an absolute monster though...anyone want a toddler? Free to good home!

Afternoon girls.
How long can a newborn seriously go without sleep for?? I'll tell you - 36 hours so far!
Hope today was better for you Annsam. That would be terrible.
Lana hope Amity had a great day - sounds like it. Did you make a cake?? I'm already thinking about what cake to make for DS's 2nd birthday. I made a frog last year.
Shezi, congrats on planning your wedding. I did it with one bub and that was very hard but you sound like you are a very organised person. Gosh I cant beleive how complete strangers feel they can comment on your life!! Hasnt happened to me yet but I'm sure it will.
Well Jacey has been going great - cant believe what a good sleeper and bub she is. We went shopping for half of the day and she slept most of the time, then when I got home she had one boob, fell asleep and slept 5 hours. I was looking for an outfit to wear to her baby naming but I couldnt find anything and its all winter stuff. I hate that they have winter stuff and no summer stuff when our winter isnt really cold!! I was pretty emotional when I left and felt like crying. But I did buy Jacey a gold bracelet and got it engraved. When I got home and checked it they put her birthday as the 28th not the 26th!! I was so angry it was $230 so not a cheap thing and I had to send DH back in for them to fix it up. They just went over it thicker so it doesnt look as nice
Well I'm going to get a foot massage off DH,
hope everone has a good night tonight. My little miss has only just gone to sleep!! Maybe she will sleep later! :fingerscrossed:

Well Amity has just gone to bed after a very busy day! She got thoroughly spoiled!
I didnt make her cake this year but will next year when she has a party. Didnt have the energy to do it this year.
Anna - the pics are beautiful!! Leah is gorgeous! I love the one of her in the bath, very cute. I had imagined you to have mid-length brown hair for some reason lol!
Shezi - Great idea about the wedding!! What a nice surprise for ur family! Oh, and im glad you didnt listen to that old biddy! I would have told her to mind her own bloody business, but thats just me!
Taryn - that is sooo bad about the engraving! You would think that they would double check things like that before they started engraving. How much did u pay for the engraving? I would have asked them to reimburse you!
Thanks girls. Isnt it funny how you get a mental pic of what someone looks like?
Shezi - what a witch. Should have said you were pg anyway..... or that you havent figured out what causes it yet.
Lana, glad the bday went well.
Taryn, thats awful re the engraving. Not much you can do though huh?
Well Im sitting up at 12.30am. Leah just puked on me again..... as she has done the past 4 nights. You'd think
id learn by now. Trying to keep her upright 4 a while as it seems to make a diff to her discomfort. Off to hosp today to see if they can shed some light on my milk issue. Hopefully we'll get everything 'fixed'.:fingerscrossed:
Have good sleep girls:sleeping:

**TMI** anna i stopped bleeding after a week but a few days later it came back more darker tho almost like old blood but its still going! im so frustrated coz its such a small amount but i still need a pad just incase..
oh and anna the lady also said for me to 'buy a tv'.. little does she know im not a rabbit and we had sex like twice the month A was conceived
thanx for the responses tho girls! i had tears in my eyes with what you wrote sarah:hugs: thankyou!
danielah was spitting her water out last night and i looked at the floor and said 'who did that?!' and she looked me right me in eye grinned and said 'me!' it was classic! and now if you ask her where something is and she doesnt know she'll say 'ummm' hehe.
taryn im with lana, you should atleast get a refund on the engraving! did they even apologize when your hubby took it back?!
i love planning the kids cakes too.. my brother is trying to get out of doing them now but my sis and i wont let him haha! he does such an amazing job. he even made our engagement cake. wont be able to do the wedding one tho.. thinking of going to the cheesecake shop. im not into fruitcake so might go for a chocolate mud cake with white icing..
any ideas how i could get everyone at the ceremony dressed up?? thinking of saying we're going to get professional pics of the family for christmas?? i think the date will be december 15th. not my ideal choice but its the best for everyone..

Shezi that sounds like a good idea about getting pics done for xmas. I dont think they would guess anything. Someone I know did something similar but it was at their engagement party so they had it at a nice place and obviously put on the invites the dress code. Are you doing invites at all or just letting them know. If you do invites you could put on there the dress code and say on there "family photographs" or something. It will be so much fun, make sure you have a video camera so you can catch everyone's expressions.
Well Jacey had a great night. Woke at 2.30am and then 7.30am!! woohoo :smiliedance: It was nice. We also went grovery shopping for the first time this morning and she was an angel. I left DS with my mum though!
Its funny how people comment how tny she is when she is a chubba!! I cant believe when I look at her that people actaully have babies that are her weight now. That would hurt.
OK, well better go. Have a good day everyone.
Oh and my mum paid for the engraving so I dont even know how much it cost and I didnt even ask Luke what they said to him. I will though when he gets back from picking up DS.
Hi girls,
Well went to hospy and Leah was a dream. Slept the whole time and fed well. Shes put on another 110gms so thats 370gms in teh past 9 days so shes not suffering any thats for sure. Turns out my milk supply is too ample so I have to express before each feed for a while until it settles and yes she has reflux but its not painful because theres no acid, just uncomfortable so I have to pasively manage it by keeping her upright as much as possible to the point of sleeping her in teh hug-a-bub at night if need be. Great. Good nights sleeps ahead. :( Oh well. Wont last long.
Anyway, just thought Id pop in. Leahs awake and we are waiting on friends for afternoon tea so best be going.

Yeah i am still bleeding too, except mine never stopped!! It is finally down to the old (brownish) blood but i am still getting little bits on bright red here and there and still needing to wear a panty liner.
Shezi i think the idea of telling them you are having family photos then going for dinner is a good one. Will you be having any professional wedding photos taken?? I love planning weddings!! Not quite so stressful when they arent yours lol!
Anna - Glad that Leah is all good. What a shame about the reflux though, i hope you manage to get a bit of sleep in!
Well as of today, Sam is officially a Tradesman! He has finally finished his apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified Electrician! I went and bought him a new tool bag as his old one is too small and really gross! Just waiting for him to get home from work now.
Oh, and I think that Griffin is allergic to the cream the paed told me to use for his Nappy Rash thingy. He bottom was all red last night so i have started using Paw Paw ointment instead. At least that is natural.

has anyone gone and claimed the Bounty Bag number 3 from Target? Is it worth going to get? What's in it?
Shezi - i think your idea is the best - family photos. Any other idea might be suspiscous. We just had newborn photos done by Roger Clark in Vic Park, he does weddings too, if you were thinking of getting official wedding pics taken - he is very good. A bit pricey tho, we walked out having spent $960 on a few pics of Alexander - worth it tho...
My mother had a very successful wedding planning business in Perth before she recently retired - let me know if you need any contacts or ideas....
Elmo - poor griffins bum! I use a sample of Sudocream i got in a bounty bag - its works well on Xanders bum.
Hi Everyone,
Havent been on for a few days as have been hectic!! With DH home for the week we have done a heap of work around the house that needed doing. Poor dh thought he was going to get a nice week off but has painted, hung doors and paintings, dug up the back garden etc etc ...
Also just getting everyone organised through the day seems to take forever. Shezi are you finding the same thing with three. Every morning I do almost a roll call including my fourth child ie DH! Breakfast- check, clothes - check backpacks packed - check all in the car - check etc LOL To get us all out of the house and packed for the day it takes me an hour and a half yet with two I could do it in 45 mins !!!
happybirthday for yesterday Amity!
Anna - love the photos!! Also great to hear the lactation consultant was able to help.
Shezi - CONGRATULATIONS on the wedding plans!!
LT - I still have 5kgs to go to get back to pre preg weight though I need to move another 10g off my bum after that!! Well done on being back to better than before though dont forget to eat.
Well Chloe is still only doing the midnight and then 5:30am feed so am getting great sleep. For her first check with the mothercare nurse she had only put on 60grams in the four days since leaving hosp so have added an extra day feed to fatten her up this week. Poor thing, I hate waking a baby but am waking her every 3-4 hours during the day. If I leave her she sleeps for 5-6 hours which is great but unfortunatley is not getting enough to eat.
Well lights are back on for earth hour in 5 mins so can go and do some cooking as have 17 people over for lunch tomorrow though 5 are kids and just doing a BBQ. Ohh West Wing in an hour as well better get a move on.
Whats everyone doing for Easter next week?
ok i gotta share!! chris and i have decided to throw a "suprise wedding" :D
Shezi - congratulations on your surprise wedding, I hope everything goes well and look forward to hearing all your plans - fantatastic idea!
Anna - the pics are just gorgeous. Leah is so adorable and you look fantastic for a tired mummy!
Quick Question - Is it ok to give Madi cold boiled water? I have been giving her about 30ml 3 times a day. She loves it so much and seems to settle her in between feeds. Also is it ok to give her the recommended formula for a newborn to 2 week old which is 90ml at each feed instead of the 2 week to 1 month old recommendation as she never finishes the bottle on the higher dosage and just pukes it up. She is over 2 weeks so should be on the higher dosage but she can't handle it just yet - do you think she is still getting enough from the lower dosage, she seems happy and still can't even drink the lower dosage. Hope that makes sense! TIA
LT - That's so great about your weight loss, must feel amazing! I know what you mean about needing to eat, I keep forgetting myself although I don't seem to look any thiner from it. I still need to loose 5kg, can't wait.
I was going to ask the same question about bleeding. Mine keeps stopping and starting all the time, one minute it's bright red then next it's the old brown blood, sorry TMI. Also personal question, when is it safe to have 'special cuddles' again? Do we have to wait 6 weeks or until the bleeding stops?
Well I hope all the bubs are well and the mummies are getting a bit more sleep!

I still have the on and off again bleeding as well.
red.. brown..
Also.. I can STILL feel my stitches after 3.5 weeks. it doesnt feel like things have heeled there either, I had three internal baginal stiches although I can feel them on the outside. Arent' the meant to disolve?
M2B i think special cuddles are ok after 6 weeks if you had any tearing etc.
Shezi.. can't you tell everyone that you are having a christenng/naming ceremony for A ? Or the other girls as well? That way they will dress up.
Toadlet has been having his big sleep from about 7pm for about 5 hours. Had to wake him up tonight at 8.30 so I can go to bed and have a good snooze. He does a 3 hour sleep after that.

Hey LT - thats a great idea - Shezi - then people wouldnt even guess when they saw the celebrant - not until the celebrant ANNOUNCED what they were all there for!
lana congratulations to sam on finishing his apprenticeship!! :yelclap: he must be happy!!
LT any idea how much naming days cost? might be a good idea to do that for real then shock them. although might me hard if im in a wedding dress haha. definately something to think about tho thanx :D
M2B we waited like a week but i didnt have stitches this time.. a slight tear and internal grazing(which was pretty sore) but i will add position position position lol. if it hurts make sure you stop... not worth dealing with pain for days after!
A slept from 8.30pm till 1.30am i was so happy! she must be taking lessons from monty coz she then slept from 2am till 5am then up again just before 7 with a dirty nappy..
lana did you find any wedding dress shops to be really good and not overly pricey??
firsttime any contacts would be excellent! thankyou! we're not going all out but i need to organize flowers for bouquets and hair(thinking pink frangipanis) & a professional photographer.. not looking forward to knowing prices! umm limos.. and going to look at dresses this week!
how many pics did you get of alexander for the $900??
im going to look into getting married on the grounds at the burswood, and booking a room so stay their one night for 'honeymoon' and back to reality next day.. will ring monday for all info. supposedly theres a room that you can stay in that holds 30 people so while we're off getting married they come in and put tables up and bring food and drinks so its all ready when we're done.

LT....hmmm doesnt sound good about your stitches hun, i had 22 with O and never felt a single one. This time round i think i had about 8 and felt them for about a day or two then nothing. Maybe ask your health nurse?
Anna.....sorry to hear about lil Leah and the dreaded reflux, O had it and it was hell! especially coz it went undiagnosed for almost 7mths (even when i kept asking health nurses and docs if this was normal etc etc:mad: )
At least you will now know why shes bot settling etc
Hope the HAB helps, maybe get one of those massage pillow things that support your back so you can sleep upright?
Lana....:yelclap: for Sam, you are so sweet buying him his new tool belt ahhh to be young and in love Valentine hehehehe you guys are such a sweet couple!
The paw paw cream is great we use it on Iris its much more natural for lil ones bot bots!
M@B....i dont know if its ok but i used to give O boiled water in between feeds as he was a HUGE feeder and probably would have stayed attached to my boobs 24/7 if i'd let him lol
Dont worry too much about the recommended formula dosage as thats just what it is recommended every bub is different as long as shes putting on weight and settled it should be fine.
Re: special cuddles......last time i told dh it was 3mths lol however this time round his a bit in the know lol
I wish the doc would have said 3yrs hahahaha
I really am not at all keen, hate the intial "cuddle" as last time it wasnt very pleasant (TMI) it took me ages to get back to how it used to be.......anyone else like me???

DH has taken O out so im having a lovely late brunch while Iris snoozes!

LT I had one internal stitch and a couple on the outside too. I havent checked for a few days but they were still there the last time, although I have seen 1 on my panty liner.. My GP said that they really take 6 weeks to dissolve not 2 weeks like a lot of people say. She will look at mine next week and if they havent gone she will remove them probably. If you can feel them in general though go to your GP and get them to take them out. My GP was going to take mine out after a week but when I went back in there I couldnt feel them anymore so she said to leave them be for now. Sometimes they can be irritating and hinder healing.
Doing the deed..... one week to go. We will wait until after my doc appointment. I could always feel my scar from last time so it will be interesting to know how it feels this time. It does take a little while to get back into it as you are kinda thinking about the tear and being careful. But it does feel good to :D
Shezi I am having a baby naming ceremony next weekend (easter sunday) and I havent even asked how much it will cost  I just wanted the celebrant who did our wedding so I dont care about $$. But am expecting it to be over $250??
Jacey woke at the usual 1am and 5am and then 8am last night. Its twice now she has only woken once and I wish she would stick to it, I like that much better;)
Well done LT on your weight loss, I still have 5.5kg to go.
Lana I bet Sam is excited about finishing his apprenticeship. Did he like his present??
OK well better go, DS nearly ready for bed. Have a good day
missed a couple of days and so much to catch up on!
CONGRATS SHEZI on your exciting wedding news!! i love the idea of a surprise wedding, be so much fun seeing everyone's faces :D
STITCHES - i had heaps and i can't feel them and haven't been able to since Harper was about 2 weeks old.
NAMING CEREMONY - we are having one for Harper in about 6 months (or whenever Mum can come back from Dubai again). the celebrant who did our wedding is doing it. not sure what it will cost. i'm thinking a champagne brekkie would be nice...

I have dissolving stitches in my c/s scar and I think I still have a fair few there. Owen is 3 weeks old tomorrow. I'd say they'd be the same sort of stitches they use "down below".
Owen has been sleeping much better the past couple of nights. He's been bringing up his wind much more easily (still struggling a little at times) so that's probably making it easier for him to sleep.
We went on a family trip down to the beach this morning, which was lovely. The only thing was it was incredibly windy, but Claire had a ball building sandcastles & digging in the sand with daddy & also went for a bit of a paddle in the water. Owen slept the whole time & then we went out for breakfast. It was great!

Shezi -
Dresses - you could try Intangible for wedding dresses, they are just a normal dress shop but they have white if thats what you want, and the prices are excellent compared to wedding dress shops. Also, if you wanted to go for a colour you would pay even less.
Flowers - there are a few flower wholesalers, one is Floraco in Leederville, and another is Everbloom (not sure where they are), for all our family parties etc we order our own flowers and make up the tables or boquets ourselves. I think you may need to have a business registered with them, but call them to check because i have heard they sometimes serve people without a business. The prices are EXCELLENT and quality is fabulous. I would even consider faking a business to get to be able to buy from there!
Limo - why would you need one if you are having ceremony and meal at same place? If it were me i would put that money into an additional room at Burswood for Chris to get ready in.
Photos - 7 pictures of Alexander, and not even framed:thumbsdown: But they are excellent. When i get them i will take a photo of them and post them so you can see. What about the photographer that did those gorgeous pics of your girls - do they do weddings?
Burswood - great idea, DH and i were actaully going to do the same last year, we wanted to hire the Penthouse and have a cocktail party and then stay over, but Burswood told us they don't hire out their accommodation rooms for parties anymore. Check with them tho. I once went to a function down by the poolside at Burswood, and Shezi it was gorgeous - a beautiful place to have a wedding, the sun was setting and it was magic. You could always have a meal down there on the grass also, they can set it all up beautifully.
Or, what would actually be easier, and probably cheaper, just book a dinner at one of the many restaurants at Burswood, dont even tell them its for a wedding, you will save a STACK of money. Maybe see if one of the restaurants has a "private functon room" area, i know Duxton has one and its lovely, it's like a mini funtion area inside the restaurant.

Thanks girls! Yeah Sam loved his new tool bag!! He was very surprised, he wasnt expecting anything!
Shezi - My sister got hers from Anastacia's in King St, Perth. It was on special so she got like $1100 OFF!!! They had a sale around June or so last year so maybe they will have another one soon. Also, they have a few wedding dresses in Noni B or even Intangible. It all depends on if you want the traditional style wedding dress or something a bit simpler.
Taryn - Griffin wakes at very similar times to Jacey. He wakes at 1.30am, 4.30am and then around 6.30 - 7am every day. Oh, and his last feed is usually around 10.30 - 11pm.
Afternoon girls.
Just a quickie before my nap (Leah depending).
Leah slept better last night after I did the expressing thing and the cuddling thing with her. She slept in my arms from 11pm till 3am then in her bassinet from 4am till 6am then again with me until I got up at 8am. Its not comfortable sleeping with her as I have to be so proped up and part of my brain doesn't shut off knowing shes there but its much better than having to get up ever 10 minutes to try to re-settle her so I guess we'll do it like this for a few weeks until the reflux subsides.... heres hoping it does. She also didn't spew in the night which is just bloody marvelous!
Went to the park and fed the ducks today. DS loved it. Leah cried the whole time. Too over stimulated and wouldnt' sleep plus it was getting windy.
Well as of today, Sam is officially a Tradesman! He has finally finished his apprenticeship and is now a fully qualified Electrician!
Oh, and I think that Griffin is allergic to the cream the paed told me to use for his Nappy Rash thingy. He bottom was all red last night so i have started using Paw Paw ointment instead. At least that is natural.
Congratulatioins to Sam!!
Nipple cream can also be used as a barrier cream if the paw paw is too light.
has anyone gone and claimed the Bounty Bag number 3 from Target? Is it worth going to get? What's in it?
Didn't know you could....... Last time I got teh third bag from the hospital and it was filled with cr*p so dont think I'll bother this time.
Ive only got the two and I think its a logistical impossibility to get everyone out of the house when we need to go. No idea how you girls with 3 do it.
TIA
Cooled boiled water is absolutely fine for bottle fed bubbas.
Sam never had the "right" amount of formula. Its only a guide so just give her what she'll take. Do you try to burp her then offer her some more? Thats the only thing I can think but if shes happy with the lesser amount and not asking for more early then thats probably all she needs.
Also.. I can STILL feel my stitches after 3.5 weeks. it doesnt feel like things have heeled there either, I had three internal baginal stiches although I can feel them on the outside. Arent' the meant to disolve?
My 1 stitch has gone after about 9 days.
Yeah dreading the first time. Just want to get it over with.
Ok, Leah is calling. So much for nap.
Have a good day girls

Hello Girls! Well I wondered why there were only like 3 posts on usual 'due in March' thread since I was on here on Thursday & now I have found 24 pages here .... Haven't read the posts though - ANY GOSS/NEWS? ........... Well I was VERY sick yesterday - high temp, headache, nauseous etc & went to doctors last night & I have mastistis which is why it has been too painful to breastfeed. I am now on antibiotics & already feel better. Prob also because DH looked after Ella yesterday arvo & I slept. Ella was also better last night sleeping 4-5 hours between feeds. DH has been giving her 10pm (or thereabouts) bottle & she never settles until after I give her a bottle later. She has to learn though. We bought the NAN 1 formula & I think she has been a little constipated but seems quite happy with it. She doesn't have it much anyway only a couple during the day & expressed bottles at night if there's enough. She couldn't get through the 120ml recommended at first but now she does as we burp her about 3 times during the feed. Ella still sleeps all day but has a couple of hours awake time in her bouncer & on the floor in the morning & late afternoons now since having formula. She is so strong! Can't believe she is now 2 weeks & 3 days old!!! .................. How are all the March babies & mum's doing? Hope everyone is well & I will try & get on more often to catch up! MISS U ALL! Have a beautiful Sunday! xxx

we got our wedding flowers from Jessons in Canning Vale, really nice and good prices.

you ladies are scaring me! poor old DH... :)

haha i find it much easier getting out the door when chris is at work.. for some reason its really slack when he's home.. my usual morning is 6-6.30am feed and dress bub and hope she goes back to sleep for atleast an hour hehe 7am- D is awake so breaky for her then M will get up and watch cartoons while i attempt to get her to eat something.. dress M & D while M fights me over what 'she' wants to wear haha. do their hair with usual refusal from both.. girls!! lol
7.45am- put on the songs part of a new macdonald dvd so i have about 5minutes where they'll sit still unless D hears the bathroom door and in that case im doing my hair/teeth etc while she unrolls the toilet paper and tries to put toys in the loo!
go out and clean up the toys the girls have pulled out that morning.. feed A again.. make sure kids clothes are still clean and no toilet trips/nappies are needed. and we're ready to go by 8.30.. ofcourse most mornings A wakes again just as im putting D in the highchair so that makes everything more interesting!
i find the part that takes the longest is feeding & burping bub.. especially if going in the car coz A will chuck if shes not burped properly.. then ofcourse cleaning up the toys that the girls drag out while i feed. its amazing isnt it! haha
carrie i hope you're feeling better! mastitis is not fun!

Thanks Shezi ... ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED??? CONGRATULATIONS!!! We got married at Long Island in the Whitsundays & it cost about $6000 all up. Everyone wanting to come paid for their own accommodation which was a 3 night package & included all meals (all buffet) and instead of paying for a wedding meal we opened the sliding door between the restaurant and function room & used the buffet! We had the ceremony on the beach at 11am & a lunch time reception. It was awesome & I'd do it all over again. Wedding package included flowers, cake and other extras. I can't wait to go back maybe end of this yr for a hol!

ok just a quick post coz D woke a little bit ago and definately is in the worst of chris's bug.. im not impressed.. poor little chicken. i knew i shouldve made chris go to his mums! thing is my girls refuse medicine.. M will take it if she's really really sick but only like 4 or 5mls when she should have 9ml but D just refuses no matter how bad she gets... very frustrating!!
OKAY so I just figured out my computer does quotes - just not multi-quote or paragraphs, emoticons or different fonts ......... SHEZI - Mum used to get us to take panadol or whatever medicine by letting us have a spoon full of sugar afterwards (a spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down) ...

question about expressed breastmilk - my DH says it is ok to mix together milk that was expressed at different times but for some reason i can't remember, i thought it wasn't so i've told him not to. does anyone know? coz it can be a real pain if i have 30ml in two different containers and have to do them as two bottles.
thanks :)
LL - I don't mix them together - I manage to get about 2 bottles or 2.5 bottles each time I express morning & night & stick them in the fridge. Hospital info says you can keep in fridge for up to 48 hours or frozen for 3 months I think. I think if you are only expressing a small amount it is ok to mix together within the day to get a whole bottle........... DUMMIES - I gave Ella one at 1 week old as she is up all night with wind & she wasn't feeding properly & would pull my nipple every which way! (OW!) She loves it!!! At night time I usually manage to get her to fall asleep after a bottle so I don't have to get up to her but she doesnt settle as well when DH feeds her at about 10pm & that's when she wants the dummy put back in her mouth! I try to just give it to her when she is looking for it, when she gets wind etc as she likes to suck her way through it.
Hey Ladies,
Thanks for the replies, it's so good to have such a great support group to ask heaps of questions and get the answers you are looking for!
Anna, I am going to try and burp Madi more so she can take the next dosage and see if that works - thanks for the tip!
Carrie, Madi is on the same formula and was a little constipated at first but once it went through her system then she is now regular and poos once a day. I have heard formula bubs can be more constipated, but Madi is fine.
Shezi, with your wedding flowers I would recommend loveflowers.com.au I used them for my wedding last May and ordered frangipanis, they were gorgeous. Love hearing about all your plans, LT idea is awesome!
Gotta go, DH lost his mobile today at the shops, well we left it in the shopping trolley - Madi was playing up and we were in a rush so took off without thinking! gotta phone them and cancel it.
Have a great night mums and bubs!

Ok I have a question for all you breastfeeding mummas. Do any of you experience a sharp stinging sensation behind your nipple at any time?? I have been getting it a little bit just after and sometimes during feeding.
I have had a very busy afternoon today. Amity has made so much work for me. She went and had her sleep and when we went to get her up she had pood and taken her nappy off BUT as some of it was stuck to her bum she smeared it all over her bed and one of her books plus some clothes! Oh, and she weed on the floor! Anyone have any ideas on how i can get her to keep her nappy on?? This is doing my head in!!
Sorry for the me post!

 Yep! Lana, I actually had that tonight for the first time in several days (the first week or two were excrutiating for me, I have very sensitive nipples). I have one nipple that's slightly inverted & that's the side that causes me the most problems (every time I've had mastitis, it's been that side). That was the one that was hurting tonight.
As for the nappy thing, I've no idea! Claire used to partially undo hers when she was younger and we put a cover over her nappies which stopped that problem, but once they're older, a cover is not going to help much I guess.
Would it be possible to put her to bed in a one-piece outfit perhaps?

Lana - I have the same pain sometimes in the first few minuites of feeding. Cannot remember it lasting more than a few weeks with the girls and am hoping for the same this time.
For Amity have you thought about a belt? Ruby went through a naked stage and the only time she didnt take off her clothes was when she had her jeans and belt on. She couldnt work out how to undo it to get her pants off. The only other thing I can think of is to raid Sams new tool belt for some electrical tape and tape up that nappy before she goes for a sleep! LOL!!
Anna - I hope the sleeping gets better for you!
Shezi - dh is back to work tomorrow so will be back in the swing of things hopefully. How come it takes longer when they are at home?
Carrie - take care mastitis is not nice
M2B - glad to hear things are improving for you.
Well we have had a full on day today. My bil and sil arrived at 9:30am for coffee and left at 12pm. Then we had 17 people arround for lunch incl 8 kids. Great fun but full on!! and just as we were saying goodbye to the last couple at 5pm my dad turned up to see the girls as he is away for the next 10days with work and wanted to see them before he left. Finally got everyone to bed and the place back in order in time for Grey's and its a repeat!

That is a great idea!!! Thanks! Now i just have to go get some size 2 ones!
Gemma - Sam and i didn think of the tape lol! But we were serious! That was our last resort!
With the feeding and stinging nipples it is a sharp pain but inside of my breast (if that makes sense) Griffin is now 6 weeks old so i just sort of thought it would be gone by now.
Gemma glad your little get together went well! You must be buggered!
Hope you girls all have good nights with your bubs!

yep I have this too Lana, Jacey is 5 weeks today and I think I had it last time too. It stings doesnt it for those few seconds!
Jacey woke only once again last night :yelclap: Thats friday and sunday night she's done that. Lana her last feed is between 6pm and 7.30pm (no later) and then its bedtime but lately she has been going to sleep at 9pm which is great for me but it wouldbe nice if she was in bed earlier to give hubby and me some time together as we go to bed so early as he gets up at 4.30am. Jacey then wakes at around 2am for a feed and then it was 7.30am Sat morning and 6.30am this morning.I'm likin it!!
As with the dummy thing, I always pull it out before we go to sleep if it hasnt fallen out already and she never wakes for it thank god.
I'm glad DS hasnt worked out how to take off his nappy - well he has done it twice but not in bed. His poos are very soft so it would be very messy. I'm always saying to DH give him cheese to clog him up a bit!! he he. He has never been constipated either as he does about 5 poohs each day which drives me insane.....how fun is it going to be for me when I toilet train him.
OK well better go and get organised for the day before jacey wakes again. Have a good day all

Tsumnami warning for us...eek, gosh my mums right on the beach, low lying area so I hope it doesnt get to townsville. I didnt even know until Luke rang me as DS was watching Seseme Street!!
hi girls
doing the one handed thing.....
had a good night last night. leah only woke once. albeit a long wake (2 hrs) and i had to lean over a couple of times to pat her tum when she sounded like she was waking but we only got up the once.:yelclap:
lana i cant believe griffin is 6 weeks already! boy it does go quick.
I get the pains too. arent they let down pains?
i tried to get rid of the dummy but have decided to resort to it when shes inconsolable in the evenings.
exciting day planned today.... cleaning the bathrooms. just me and leah today which is the first time i have had time to myself for 4 weeks.
have good days girls.
taryn hope the weather passes without issue.
Thanks Shezi ... ARE YOU GETTING MARRIED??? CONGRATULATIONS!!!
thanx carrie! your wedding sounds amazing! i cant believe it was only $6000 all up! well done!
Shezi, with your wedding flowers I would recommend loveflowers.com.au I used them for my wedding last May and ordered frangipanis, they were gorgeous. Love hearing about all your plans, LT idea is awesome!
thankyou so much for the link. the flowers are beautiful.. which colour frangipanis did you pick? i just wanted pink(cant find a picture tho) but the pink/yellow/white bouquets look amazing! its a shame they dont have a 'zoom' thing so ya can see them better..
Anyone have any ideas on how i can get her to keep her nappy on?? This is doing my head in!!
my sis just went through this with her twins, and she did use tape! little horrors even got through that though!! she ended up putting speedos over their nappies(the ones with the drawstring on the inside) and thats worked so far.. they now wear the nappy pants and still have speedos over the top. danielah just started this too but coz she's younger i just put a small pair of mikaelahs knickers over the top if its too hot for her to have pants/shorts on and that works. goodluck!
gemma i think i find that i expect chris to help out if he's here in the mornings which he rarely does and ofcourse only under sufference lol not to mention the mess they cause which also needs to be cleaned up! but when its just me and the girls i just get on with it.
mikaelah is finally better from her latest bout of tonsillitis and flu so she is more than likely starting kindy aka daycare this week.
waiting to hear back over a loan through RAC, im so sick of all these different loans and payments so i rang to try to get a loan to pay out all of them so we just have one. amazing coz the repayments would be like $200 a week when at the moment we're paying closer to 4! i just really hope we get the loan.. we could be debt free in 2yrs coz could easily pay $500 a week on repayments then we'd be able to buy a house. :D i just get so annoyed coz they're not my bills.. bar $4500 which i owe on my car. i know it seems silly but i just hate owing money so having to repay money that i didnt even borrow just guts me!
