I agree a little smack doesnt kill them..doesnt make me feel any better though when she just bawls. .

Jaimie and LT I am with you when Ruby is really bad she gets a tap on her hand. Its more that she knows she has done something really bad when she gets a smack more than the fact that it hurts.

Anna - have you ever known of/heard of a baby who has been born with their legs like that before ... ???

Kym - One of the girls in my mothers group also had a breech baby and has almost the same photo as you! Charlotte is now three and had clicking at the start but did not need a brace or anything.

ANYONE ELSE BARELY GETTING DRESSED BY MIDDAY due to feeding / changing / expressing / washing up / sterilising/ housework etc? I DON"T KNOW how you mum's with older children do it!!

When you have older ones you dont have a choice you have to get up and ready LOL!!! It takes us an hour and a half for all four of us (me and the girls) to get up dressed, fed, showered(me) packed and out of the door. I am hoping to get it to an hour once Chloe gets faster in her morning feed.

Anna - glad your day improved.

Who was asking about how often the little ones feed etc? Chloe is doing 9am, 2pm, 7pm, 10:30pm then 5am. She has done this routine now for the last week and its great I hope it stays this way for a while.

Sydney girls - what day are we meeting?

Jaimie - if you are worried I would say go and either see your gp or the early childhood nurse tomorrow. Hope you feel better soon :hugs:

Jaimie hope its just a couple of rough days for you and that things get better, no harm in seeing your GP though just to make sure.

I just got 567 photos printed :D I have been slack and leave them all on the computer. I bought 3 albums and pic up the pics tomoz. They are from when DS was 9 months old onwards, our honeymoon, and Jacey. I can wait to sort them out.

Any ideas for a present for my Husband as its our first year wedding anniversary this weekend :D

Thanks.:hugs: Might just ride it out ...im sure i will feel 100 times better when i get some proper sleep.
Gemma- Can we swap babies?? Roxy is doing 8pm,11-12 ish, 3am then awake at 6am.
Taryn- Not sure about a present for your Dh...I know that this year (25th of this month actually) my Dh will be getting a card and his fave meal and some lovin....but maybe your thinking of something a little more special! Hmm..its hard to buy for men isnt it??

Lana - is Sam Amity's Dad... If it's too personal - then you don't have to answer, I'll understand.. it was just the way that you wrote it.

Kym - Sam isnt Amity's biological father but he is her Daddy in every way possible. Her biological father hasnt seen her since she was 9 mths old and she is now 2!! He used to have her every second weekend but then he just stopped coming and stopped contacting her. In just over 1 years time Sam and I will be putting in the paperwork for Sam to adopt her. (Oh, and i dont mind you asking babe!)

Carrie - Yep! Somedays i dont get dressed at all. Amity and I will have a pyjama day!!

Jaimie - You're not a bad mummy for smacking Jazzy, I give Amity the occasional smack too. Only when she is really naughty though.

Taryn - Were you wanting get your DH something from just you or you and the kids?? If its from you and the kids let me know coz i have an idea! ;)

Sorry for all the replies i have missed. ill go back and read them later.

Hey All

Hope everyone is well, and not too tired.

Cooper had his 6 week (actually 9 weeks as that's the only time we could get Coop in the the comunity heath place) today and he is 6.040 gms and he has grown 8cm's since birth. The lady said he was doing really well.

He also got his 8week needles today (three of them) and he cry with all of them. It was awful. :crying:

Not much else has happened been pretty quite my end.

Yep! Somedays i dont get dressed at all. Amity and I will have a pyjama day!!
haha me neither...I stay in my nighty all day excpet if I have people coming over or I have to go out. I'm a lazy bum.

Hope you all have a good night and sleep.

xoxo Emma

BG - just saw your little outfit you knitted and it's so cute.
Lana - Congrats on the settlement.
annsam - hope u can catch up on some sleep.

Just remembered, I saw Brisbane Bronco's play Tonie Carroll in the shopping centre tonday.

girls check out these pics!
Aalivyah just after she woke from a nap today.. very happy little chicken hehe http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p175/Shezi26/kids034Small.jpg
Mikaelah & Aalivyah http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p175/Shezi26/kids037Small.jpg
Danielah looking gorgeous with her hair braided.. its finally long enough! http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p175/Shezi26/kids028Small.jpg

caithi how are you feeling? i dont want to knock your hubby or anything but hun if you feel you need to go to tresillian(sp?) then please do.. only you know how you feel. i just hope you dont try to 'drown out' your feelings for everyone elses sake coz they will return eventually..(feel free to tell me to shut up)
i hope all is well! hows your little cutie anais!?

ok.. only reason we all up and dressed early is coz im paranoid about people 'dropping in' SO much easier if people just rang first!! its impossible to keep the place clean every second of the day though so my first line is usually "excuse the house". i think i have this major paranoia about people thinking that im not ontop of everything.. that and the fact i hate my house being messy.. it can look 'lived in' but not messy.. drives me up the wall.. gotta love M tho.. chris said the other night while i was cooking 'come on lets go clean the toy room' her response was 'its ok daddy, mummy will do it after i go to bed!' needless to say the kids are helping to clean up more!

In just over 1 years time Sam and I will be putting in the paperwork for Sam to adopt her.

thats great news about sam adopting amity!! how did you get the 'ex' to agree??

He also got his 8week needles today (three of them) and he cry with all of them. It was awful. :crying:

how did cooper go with 3? at A's 6week check the nurse said it was only 2 needles.. will not be impressed with 3! havent quite worked out how im going to juggle getting hers done at the same time as D's.. will have to do D's first i reckon..

LL gorgeous pics! Harper looks as adorable as always!!

scoob it does look painful hey.. i cant remember but was chelsea breech? wonder how long she was in that position for.. must have been weird for her to have her legs down hey as that would be comfortable so its like a bub coming out with legs down and dr putting them up.. youd think it would hurt.(ok sorry this isnt making you feel better!!) its great that it didnt affect her tho and craig is right but its a mummys job to worry about everything! chelsea is one lucky girl to have you as her mummy! i hope all goes well at the drs.

jaimie :hugs: i hope you get the sleep you need tonight!! everything is so much nicer when you're not sleep deprived..

do yous think we should have a thread for monthly stats?

sleeping while laying down has got to stop i think.. im not getting as much sleep coz i dont let myself fall into a proper deep sleep incase the doona goes on bub.. so time to sit up again.. atleast im not actually getting out of bed lol. still my number one reason for b/fing.. absolute laziness! haha.

Shezi - we havent spoken to "him" about it yet. We will when its finally time. If he doesnt just agree and sign the papers we can apply through the courts and say that he hasnt seen her in so long anyway and doesnt contact her or anything. Plus then he wont have to pay maintenance for a child he doesnt see.

Love the pics!!

LL - Those nappies are gorgeous!!

Emma - it sounds like Cooper is absolutely thriving! I take Griff to have his needles next week.. poor little man!

We went to the shops tonight and i got a new phone. I got to upgrade now rather than having to waiyt til the end of my contract in August. just signed another 24 month one anyway though lol. Going to go put my new phone on charge and go to bed.

scoob...... is what my face looked like when I saw your precious lil girl in that pic cant imagine how you must feel BUT like the doc said see how the scan goes and im sure she'll be fine:hugs:

Iris had an awesome sleep last night!
Get this i put her to bed at 9pm and she woke at 5am thats 8hrs!!!!!

Fi....Owen has grown heaps hun he might need some bonsai fertilizer too LOL

Jaimie...dont feel bad hun those of us with more then one have to cut corners sometimes and thats just the way it is.....yesterday while putting O and I to bed they both started crying so i brang I into O's bed and patted them both!!! very very tiring lol
With re: to PND if your not sure hun just speak to your GP or health nurse as I was unsure for a long time BUT was really in denial OR under the false assumption that it was normal and i could cope.
Hope your day is great today hun!

LT.....re; smaking lol just watch out as my sister started doing that and now when she threatens him with a smack he looks at her real knowingly and smacks his own hand then laughs hahahahaha

Michaela....dont worry hun you'll do great, yes it will be tougher going solo 24/7 for a whole week BUT just think of all the time you and Harper will have, poor daddy will be missing out!

Carrie....I can manage to shower and dress (I shower while O's in the bath and I is asleep) BUT i just cant seem to manage breakfast...yesterday I didnt eat anything till about 1pm!!!
NOT gd for my weightloss as everybody knows breakie ups your metabolism!

However when I just had O i remember loads of PJ days hahahaha

Scoob.....hmmm thats great news about pisces and shopping as i need a shopping buddy...O hates it!
With re: to the granuloma i just have to clean it every nappy change time with salin and a cotton bud. I think they will have to burn it off though as its getting bigger!

Taryn....567 pics OMG girl that has to be a record or something! hehehehe

Firsttime.....I was up feeding Iris at 5am too but i never get out of bed lol as her feeds only last 15mins or so!

OK now something I need help with!
Anyone got a great cure for cradle cap????
O had it and it was the bain of my existence for months it looked hideous and nothing i did worked!

Now with Iris i havent used any products on her scalp so was hoping to avoid this problem BUT she does have some just on her hair line and I want to pick at it but know that will only worsen it.........any advice girls?????

phew loooong post!

Sarah- For cradle cap i used olive oil..sounds yuck but you just leave it on for a hour or so (or till you cant stand the smell any longer) and then wash with warm soapy water. Though if your not using any product on her im not sure what would wash it off!!!!
Thanks for the support girls. Unfortunately last night was even more horrible...i think i got a bout 2hrs sleep and was crying the rest! So i look a bit puffy in the face today!
Hope your all having a great day. Will pop back in when girls are asleep!

GREAT LT...now lets hope everyone else is cool with that day:o

Re: the cradle cap, I have been trying the olive oil BUT its just kinda making it turn orange:eek:
May have to get some organic hypo alllergenic shampoo or something!

Also im thinking about having a combined christening with Orlando's 3rd B'day Party????
What do you think?
I think it might be cheaper lol as $ is tight with the reno's etc etc
Would probably be more people BUT still cheaper then organising two seperate functions PLUS Orlando would get gifts as well and may stop the jealousy factor when he sees Iris getting gifts etc???
What do you all think?

Also I think im turning into a desperate housewife:eek:
And not the Eva Longoria kind!!!
A young guy came to the house yesterday to check our electricity bill (very gd looking scots man, just arrived in OZ) and I found myself checking him out!
Hahahahahaha yes i definately need to get out more!!! hehehehe

Morning all........just.

Third time lucky in trying to read the posts.

Sarah, I second the natural oils. I used almond oil but olive is good too. In fact, probably better if you are concerned about nut allergies.

Wed is fine for me. Will likely have Sam with me but will be driving so not a biggy. Can we do a park / beach or something where toddlers will be happy?? Im not the only one with a toddler going am I?

Cr*p. Forgotten all else.

Leah WILL NOT settle after her 4am feed....... which this morning was 3.20am. She didn't resettle till nearly 6am which is when Sam usually wakes up. So frustrating. She did however only wake once for a feed but I also couldn't get her out of my bed last night which I really wanted to do as I was very low on tollerance yesterday. Have realised that I am no a woman that copes well with sleep deprivation - I need my sleep to be tollerant.

Went to the shops this morning and did all I have to do so feeling very organised. Leah slept in her HAB the whole time. Had some stranger ask me if I was breastfeeding  . Ive never had a stranger ask something so personal before so that was a bit perplexing.

Photos are lovely girls. Sorry if Ive missed anything. I read half the posts several hours ago and my brain just aint with it so well at the moment.

Have a good day. Im off for a nap..... hopefully. :fingerscrossed:

Lucky for mobile phones! Lol. As I don't have multi-quote & would have to quote 1 @ a time I do notes in a text msg to reply to everyone! :) ............. SCOOB - Firstly, thanks for what you said about Princess Ella! I have to agree (but I'm bias! :) ) ..... I was very nervous about DH going back to work as well after his week off especially as I was still sore from my c/s but it has been good as we have established our own little routine (but it seems to get messed up when he's at home on w/e Lol) ... Also E just got Hep B at birth - didn't get offered Vit K ... E had her Heel ***** test a day early i think cos they thought she'd have to have phototherapy due to jaundice but just under the levels. ANyway, she SLEPT through it!!! She only cried at the very end! Nervous about injections in 4 weeks time though. SHOULD I TAKE E TO GP OR IMMUNISATION CLINIC for her 8 week needles? Not sure what to do ................. JAIMIE - Hope you are just having a sh!t couple of days hun ........... TARYN - I still don't have any pics developed either :s Or an album for her! I'd better get some done soon! ... One yr anniversary present is paper so I gave DH a BCF voucher & we went to dinner. I told him to take me to a scrapbooking shop to spend about the same as the BCF voucher (only $30) so that was good. ....... LANA - Luv Pj Day! Haha ... I haven't stayed in them all day though! ....... SHEZI - Re housework - I usually get up & feed E at her early feed & take her into bed with me til she wakes between 7 & 8.30am then feed her again, dress E, put her in Bouncer while I express, wash up/sterilise, usually hang or put on a load of washing, and have a shower, get dressed & make the bed ... hence I usually don't get brekky til after her lunch time feed! As soon as I sit down or go to come on BH or make something to eat she wakes up! Cheeky monkey! :) ... Funny how I HAVE to make the bed now too as NEVER have before unless ppl coming over or house inspection or something if that Lol but discovered it makes house tidier! ................ SARAH - 8 HOURS?!?! What's your secret?? Tell Me!!!

Bambaloo
13-04-2007, 11:36
Now for a "Me" Post (well an "Ella" post ...) ......... I wish this wind / constipation would go away! Poor little thing you can hear the pain in her cries! Can't wait til this Nan Ha 1 Gold formula is finished soon so I can try the Karicare Gold as Health Nurse suggested (that or S26 Gold but apparently the Karicare Gold is just as good but cheaper) ........... Cot is fantastic! Last couple of nights have been better as settles straight away after feed & she seems to have dropped a night feed around 2am. She has 10.30pm then will still wake 3-4 hours later but I change her nappy, wrap her up again & put her dummy back in & have a cuddle & she goes to sleep! Last night I tried giving her a bottle then but didn't want it anyway! Suits me!!! Especially cos then she wants one aruond the time DH gets up to go to work - what we were aiming for :) .............. DH has a specialist appointment this morning & CAT scan again to check is kidneys/renal arteries & BP are still ok - he has had 2 lots of surgery to insert stints as the main renal arteries to kidneys were blocked. This was only picked up when he had a medical to get his job as he had very high BP - 240! They said he was lucky he hadn't had a stroke :( ........ He is the youngest of the specialist's patients as they are usually around 70 or 80 yrs old! Wish he'd quit smoking ........... Ella still has her snuffles (her new nick name is Snuffleapagus (sp?) ) & think she's giving me her cold as had a sore throat this morning. Better go - she has pains again. Might give her another bottle too as 3 hours since last one. HAVE A GOOD BLACK FRIDAY! .... BTW I messaged M2B last night as hadn't seen her online for ages but haven't heard back yet. Will let u know how she is going once I do. XXX

Thanks CarrieB, didnt think to see what the first anniversary was. I am going to do up an album for him to put all his fishing photos in - hence me getting all of our photos printed yesterday!! So I guess that is paper hey  Lana what was your idea from the kids as well???

Jaimie does Jazzy still have a day nap??

I think Jacey is getting a dry scalp too.

Well we went to the Barra farm this morning with some friends. Logan loves it. It has put Jacey out a bit but finally got her asleep in her swing. I best go transfer to her bassinett.

Have a good day xox

TAZZY - Sounds like our DH's would get on very well as he's a keen fisherman too! He loved that at the birthing classes they were all keen fisherman & the boys decided they will have to go out on one of their boats (not ours - we have a small motorless tinny!) one day soon :) Sounds like a gr8 anniversary pressy!

tazzystone
13-04-2007, 13:12
yes fishing is a BIG thing for my DH. I have to keep reminding him that it is not his job, its just a hobby but I'm sure he would like to do it as his job :p . Oh yeah we upgrade from his tinny this year!!

He keeps giving our fish in the freezer away... I'm sure its so he has an excuse to go out more so he can fill it back up:D

I do enjoy it too but have only managed to get out once since we had our son. We used to go all of the time together!! Once the kids are older I can start going again.

Yeah I think he will like the pressy, Will have to do it tonight, as I want to write all of the dates etc in there too next to each photo

Jaimie, if nothing else its some consolation to know Im not the only one :o . Hope it improves for you.

Has anyone read "the no cry sleep solution"? A friend of mine raved about it and Ive heard a bit about it so I brought it and have been flicking through it for the past couple of hours and have to say its really good. Common sense tips for the family who needs sleep but doesn't want to let baby cry it out. Haven't put any to practice yet of course but will be trying the gentle removal of the dummy for sleeping tip  .

And...... my final bit of useless information, the photographer that did the kids photos teh other day brought me a couple of books of photos she had taken herself. YOu load your photos on their software and they make them into actual bound books! They looked fantastic. Not unreasonably priced and great ideas for family for pressies (one Im definitely keeping in mind for our o/seas folk). The website for that is www.blurb.com I think.

Any ideas for a present for my Husband as its our first year wedding anniversary this weekend :D

Taryn - 1st anniversary is paper but the modern gift is a clock. I tend to do the original with my dh so for our first I gave him a really nice book and he bought me a print. The photo albulm could absolutly be paper so that would be perfect.

Gemma- Can we swap babies?? Roxy is doing 8pm,11-12 ish, 3am then awake at 6am.

Sorry Jaimie I am keeping her!! Though I am happy for Chloe to give Roxy a call or email to give her a stern talking to and explain what she needs to do to help her mummy out? How are you feeling today?

Secondly Sydney Girls can we pleeeeease try and make the meet up on a weds as thats the only day my mum is home and can look after O while i trudge into the city on the trains?????let me know:yes:

Wed is great with me and I dont have the girls that day as they are in daycare (not Chloe just the other two!) so sorry Anna it might just be Sam but I am sure we can entertain him as a group, I am good at kicking a ball with a bored 3 year old!

Well we had a funny morning. We all were up and dressed and ready for dancing when one of the other mothers called and asked if we wanted to meet at the park. I asked why she wasnt going to dancing and she told me the term had finished last week and wasnt back for another two weeks  Ooopps!!! So I had to explain to a very disappointed three year old why we were not going to dancing, needless to say we headed to the park in our ballet outfit! a great look on the slide I can tell you. I am blaming three under three and a half brain again (this is such a great excuse!!!) LOL

Other than that we have had a great day. Tilly and Chloe are in bed and Ruby has found a sheet of stickers and is amusing herself sticking them on her feet and hands and my feet and hands!!

Great phots everyone, how fast are all the babies growing!!

OK now something I need help with!
Anyone got a great cure for cradle cap????
O had it and it was the bain of my existence for months it looked hideous and nothing i did worked!

Sarah my mum swears by using Savlon cream on babies scalps that have cradle cap. Apparently you just apply a generous amount to their scalp and leave it on over night then wash it off when you bath them in the morning. (my brother had really bad cradle cap and she said that is all that worked).

Lana what was your idea from the kids as well???
transfer to her bassinett.

Hehe my idea was this smallprint (http://www.smallp.com.au/products.html) They are pendants on a dogchain BUT the different thing about them is that you get the kids' fingerprints put in them!! Have a look at the website as it explains it all a bit better

Well Griff slept 6.5 hours last night and then another 3.5 hours! It was great!

Lol here is something to make you gals laugh! I got my new phone last night and put it on to charge last night. When i went to turn it on this morning it wouldnt work! i took it back to the shop and showed the guy. He then took the back cover off and turned the battery around... Boy did i feel like a fool!! :o

Anyone on?? Need some help.

As for the awake time, she has a long awake period between say 5:30 till 8.

I was just about to ask about that - anais is usually up from 3-5 until around 9 - love having her awake but not sure if I should settle her or let her be - any suggestions?? All the mid-wifes keep telling me different things so im now very confused..

Caithi - Hope you are feeling LOTS and LOTS better now! If there is anything I can do to help... or you need a friendly ear, I am here - just like all the other girls, I am sure! How is anais going now...?

:hugs: to you lovely. She is perfect I just feel like I could die and not care about it - urghhhh - wish this would go so I could enjoy this more... funny thing is I want to be pregnant again - loopy mind at the moment.

caithi how are you feeling? i dont want to knock your hubby or anything but hun if you feel you need to go to tresillian(sp?) then please do.. only you know how you feel. i just hope you dont try to 'drown out' your feelings for everyone elses sake coz they will return eventually..(feel free to tell me to shut up)

Aww hun... Sometimes babies do just cry...

Whenever Amity used to cry i would always go through a mental check list;
- Is she hungry?
- Does she have a dirty nappy?
- Could she have wind?
- Is she over tired/stimulated?

And if i answered no to all of these i would just sit in my most comfy chair with her on my chest and pat her bottom until she fell asleep. Sometimes, if that wouldnt work i would also put my mouth to her ear and say "ssh ssh sshhh.." over and over again. It creates that 'white sound' some of the other girls have spoken about.

How long should she be awake for? Is twelve hours toolong? I thought they were only supposed to be awake for an hour at a time? Maybe I have been told the wrong thing?

Also, i know it may be hard, but try and relax. Babies are great at reading facial expressions and tones in your voice and sensing your mood. therefore, if you are tensed and stressed, chance are Anais will be too. Try and do some deep breathing to relax yourself.

Some babies like to be patted on their bottom with a bit of force (not huge amounts but enough to sort of rock them a bit).

And... If her crying gets too much for you at any stage, remember that sometimes putting her down for 5 mins while you leave the room and take a breather is ok. Its helps with settling her if you are calm. (sometimes easier said than done i know as no mother handles their child being upset very well).

i hop i have been able to help babe. :hugs: to you!

It does sound like she may be a bit over tired hun. Have you tried giving her a nice warm bath to try and calm her down?? And then maybe a top up feed and then the patting.

Do you have a baby carrier at all?? sometimes putting them in that so that you can pat them but they stay nice and close to your chest helps. They love being able to hear your heart beat.

Hi all!!! Sorry, been lurking and catching up on posts, but every time I go to reply Kes needs me

Jaimie, Caithi, and anyone who is having a rough trot, I'm thinking of you and hoping you're currently snoring peacefully and catching up a bit! :hugs:
It is so reassuring to pop on here when it's getting a bit rough and see that I'm not the only one!

Kes had a 2 hour crying-fest tonight, too many relatives wanting a hold! Finally got him to calm down by taking him to bed for a bit and lying down with him. I felt so bad for the poor little chicken, I think he misses his Dad (who is not here tonight). I've been overdoing it a bit trying to settle him so I'm up with a sore tummy tonight!

Sarah, would the pawpaw ointment work for the cradle cap?

So jealous of the Sydney meet up, I can't wait till I'm up there (visiting family, should be some time this year) so I can meet up with a few of you!

Ooh Caithi just thought of something else...

If Anais sleeps in a bassinett, try putting a T-shirt of yours (one you have worn but NOT washed) over her mattress like a pillow case. Sometimes just being able to smell their mummy helps!

Night girls.

aww Caithi, I hope your ok hun.
Lana gave you great advice sweets, if you dont have a sling or hugabub i would go buy one today coz when bubs gets like that (so tired and over it and wont stop crying)
The best thing to do is strap her into a sling and just walk around she WILL go off to sleep eventually......in the mean time she'll drive you crazy coz shes probably sooooo tired:yes:

Its so easy for us to sit here and giev advice hun i know BUT its a hell of alot harder for you on the other end....I know coz there were so many nights when O wouldnt settle and I would just fall asleep with him attached to my breast lol as thats the only way i could shut him up:eek:

Dont forget if you need a break, take it
It wont hurt bubs to cry for five mins while you go and take a breather,

Hope your ok hun and thanks for the off to pick us up hun but I dont think you'd have two car seats? huh:D

Lana....am off to buy some salvon cream today:fingerscrossed: bless your mum!

Gin.....yay! I have to meet you!!!! oh and Kes hehehehe

Iris is gd slept all day yesterday and most fo last night, she must be going through a growth spurt as shes snoozing alot lately!

O was better yesterday and I enrolled him in daycare around the corner from our place (just one day a wk) so that should keep him busy.....plus am going to enrol him in gymbaroo too so that plus swimming should hopefully burn some of that endless energy he has!

Sarah - No worries re the savlon. I will tell my mum she was able to help lol!

Well after calling the cops last night and them coming out and seeing the neighbours, they turned the damn music back on even louder at about 2.00 so when i fed Griff at 2.45am getting back to sleep was terrible. I ended up ringing again and begging them to do something about it. I dont understand how some people can be so inconsiderate!

Im off back to bed (its only 7.17am here). Im absolutely buggered.

caithi :hugs: im glad you got lana and not me! even i got some tips from all the advice! and how typical of little anais to fall asleep with daddy.. something my girls do too.. i think A see's me as her milk supply  also dont stress too much if she wont sleep.. i remember D not sleeping at all one day.. it was shocking she was just so alert!! but it only happened a couple of times.. do you have an electric swing? or a rocker? i put A in the swing last night coz i had to fold heaps of washing and she refused to be put down.. she was asleep in seconds!(didnt even have batteries in it oops lol.. just rocked it myself) so apart from D trying to body slam her all was good haha.

oh and i did not put the pic of chris in the box!! he did it  so now i have to change it.. men eh!

re cradle cap i used baby oil on D yesterday then combed through and washed it in her bath last night.. will def use savlon next time! that stuff is good for everything!!

i think A is going through a growth spurt.. she was up every 2 hours last night.. nights like that that im glad she can be fed and back in the portacot in 10minutes!

My son just did a poo on the potty - very exciting!!

Caithi when my DS used to scream I would go, say an hour and a half and then get DH up - 99% of the time he would fall asleep within minutes too!! If DH was still up we would switch every half hour. Sometimes it just takes swapping for it to work. Glad she eventually went to sleep for you.

My little possum hates sleeping anywhere but in her bassinett!! We were at friends last night and she would only do cat naps. We left and she went straight to sleep as soon as I put her to bed. I think that is the downside to a self settler!! But being out that morning didnt help either as she only had a 2 hour sleep all day. Also they didnt have the air con going and she was so hot, especially when we were feeding.

Jacey woke at 2.30am as she upwrapped herself so I wrapped her and put her dummy in and she woke at 4.40am!!! and then 8.30am. I got a nice sleep in too.

Have a nice day girls

Great to hear Caithi (though infuriating...), I cracked it at my poor DH the other night for "having it easy" as every time he holds Kes he goes to sleep sooo much more easily. Poor man :o

Definitely Sarah, I would love meeting O, he sounds like a real hoot, and cuddling babies is now my #1 hobby! :D ;)

Lana, what a nasty set of neighbours! I'll bet you're glad to be moving (congrats by the way, awesome news!), have you tried calling the council? Seens as you've made multiple police complaints I'm sure they could do something, well I hope so anyway...

Jaimie, how are things with you? I hope Roxy is sleeping more for you matey X

Kes was so relieved to go to bed last night, just loves the big bed, so he transferred easily (phew!) and slept really well. Can't wait for DH to get home (hopefully soon), weird having him not here.

Hi All!

Sorry I haven't been on for awhile but have read all your posts....babies just take up so much time:laughing: .

Caithi - how are you doing today hun? Sorry I wasn't on last night but Lana did a fantastic job with her advice:thumbsup: Also I agree with Shezi...if you think you need help go and get it!! No offence to your DH but they just dont get how hard it is to be a first time mummy...especially if you are a worrier or a bit highly strung (like me!) My DH is so chilled nothing phases him but I am a big stress head so I am watching out for the signs of PND for myself. If your not coping just pick up the phone to tressillian as they will help you over the phone. It may come in handy if no one is online here...keep the number on the fridge!

Jaimie - how are you feeling now? :hugs:

I am up for a wed meet up but just not this wed as DH is on holidays this week. The wed after is Anzac day so prob not the best day to meet up being a public hol and all...so was thinking 2nd May (seems like ages away!)

All the photos posted have been fab...your bubbas are so cute!

Had our best night so far with Callum he went down at 10:30 slept to 3:30 and then up for a feed and slept again until 9:30! Qestion though with all that extra sleep why do I still feel sooo tired???
Also I think the only reason he slept so long is because he was sleeping next to me in our bed. I know this is bad but it is the only way he sleeps longer. Am I making a rod for my back?? Am I starting a habit that will be really hard to break? He sleeps great in the bassinett all day but at night he lasts about 2 hrs and then grizzles so I pick him up and put him in with me..
Any advice would be great!

Have a fab day girls!

Hey girls,

Just a quickie from me. Massive headache, need food and a nap as the last couple of days when Ive tried to have a nap Im too overtired to fall asleep. Gotta wonder how that works huh?

Taryn, congrats on the potty!

Caithi, I cant add to anything Lana said. Thats fantastic advice. Leah some nights cries for 2 hours on end and I do just what Lana said. One tip, get some industrial ear plugs from the hardware shop. When you are at your wits end they help drown out a bit of the intensity. Hope your day is going better anyway.

Well I was so disappointed last night. I must have dreamed I looked at my clock at it was 3.30am so when Leah woke I quickly picked her up for a feed and it was only midnight. She had another rought night. Still congested. May need to look at antibiotics next week as it must have turned bacterial now and its not improving or getting worse for the past few days.

Ok. Little miss is calling..... again.

Aww hun... Sometimes babies do just cry...

Whenever Amity used to cry i would always go through a mental check list;

CAITHI - Hugs to you babe I hope you got Anais to sleep last night & had a bit of a rest yourself! .... I do exactly the same as above, Ella luvs me holding her tight to my chest & saying 'shhh' as well & helps even when she has bad wind pains ................ LANA - I am so getting DH that dog tag thing for his b'day in Sept!!! It is fantastic! ............. Off to read other posts now ... PS LANA - LOL about the phone battery! So me! Haha

Afternoon girls! ... Well I went to express this morning & got like 2 drops out of each boob so I guess it's over ... a little sad but happy too, gives me extra time in the day for starters & won't take up an hour or more in the morning so may be able to get dressed sooner! ........... Ella decided she didn't feel like dropping the middle feed last night (last 2-3 nights she has still woken every 3 hours but middle one around 2am has been fine with a nappy change, dummy & cuddle) and wanted a bottle every 3 hours. Prob cos she isn't as snuffly anymore ... I don't mind much anymore though as I wake up exactly 2 secs before she cries every 3 hours now & she gets changed, fed & I give her a small cuddle & put her down in her cot. Even if she isn't asleep I stick her mobile on, dummy in, I go to the toilet, put her bottle in sink etc then if still slightly awake wait for song on mobile ot finish & put on again & leave her. It's Wonderful!!! ................ Oh & she still wakes in morning around 2 hours after last feed, has her nappy changed & comes into bed with me for a couple more hours which is great too! I am enjoying it more now we are getting the hang of things! ........... GETTING OUT - Does anyone else get excited to get out of the house? I don't during week except mum has been coming on Wed's & we've gone out but normally wouldn't as DH has car while I can't drive but we went to Chemist this morning to get formula, nappy wrapper refills & cold & flu tabs for me (Miss Ella gave her cold to me :( ) & I was so happy to go to the damn chemist! LOL :) ............. Off to mum's for tea tonight & might go to SIL's tomorrow to visit now I am happier & more confident taking E places ... I thought I had signs of PND earlier as I always was one to go out as hated being at home but didn't want to go anywhere or see anyone except my parents until a few days ago - IS THIS NORMAL? Think it was the breastfeeding issues maybe? .............. CAITHI - Sometimes I think it is good to let them have a good cry for a bit so take a breather if you need it hun. It's their exercise & wears them out! Hope you are starting to feel better ............. DOES ANYONE MISS BEING PRG? I never thought I would as was so sick etc but now I wanna be prg again soon! Even though I lways said I didn't wanna be sick for 2 yrs in a row! Will wait a while though (at least a few months) so can spend quality time with E without being so sick, tired & rundown ............ ELLA IS 1 MONTH TOMORROW! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!! How time has flown! ...... GIN - Do you get sore rocking side to side? I still do, not to mention my shoulders & back caining. I physically can't do it! So need physio on my back injury. ...... CAITHI - One more thing - E settles best when i sit on chair or lay down with head propped up & she lays across me on her tummy. Best thing! Maybe Anais would like that? HAVE A GOOD DAY!

Evening all

Last night we decided to put Cooper in his cot in our room, but when we went to take the cot out of the nursery it wouldn't fit lol. So we had to take it apart and put it together again in our room.

Putting him in the Cot didn't make much difference to him settling. He seems to fall asleep for about 15min and is wide awake again.

Also when he is asleep he seems to jump by throwing his arms and legs out then wake up and burst out crying like he's had a scare or nightmare...does anyone else bub do this

Emma what Cooper is doing is perfectly normal. It is a natural reflex that all babies have (i forget what its called though). Have you thought of trying those bolster cushion thingys that let you lay them on their side without them being able to roll onto their tummy or back?? I have one for Griff as he kept waking himself up at night. He loves it. Gives them the feeling of being cuddled too. You can buy them from Big W, Target and most baby stores, I think mine is by Safe n Sound.

They are fully washable too and can also be adjusted. (they have two pieces of material that velcro together so you can make it smaller and bigger depending on how you want to lay baby.) They are great for when bub learns how to roll too as you can make sure they stay on their backs.

ETA: Emma here is a link to one on the BG website LINK (http://www.babiesgalore.com.au/view_product_new.php?productid=393&returnUrl2=%2Fshow_product_search.php%3Flim%3D8%26 searchtype%3Dcategory%26categoryid%3D86%26subCateg oryId%3D)

Emma have a read of this;

Cradle cap
Cradle cap is one of the most common skin disorders in young babies, but it can affect children up to the age of five.

What is cradle cap?
Cradle cap is a form of dermatitis. It can be mild, with just a few flaky patches of skin on top of the head or severe with thick, greasy yellow scales all over the scalp. It also crops up on the face, neck, behind the ears and in the nappy area, and the skin may look inflamed. Although it looks unsightly, it is usually harmless if the scalp does not become infected. It's thought to be caused by overactive sebaceous glands which produce too much sebum, an oily substance that the skin needs to keep it well oiled and healthy.

How can I tell if my child has cradle cap?
You may see:
• Thick scales on this head, often a yellow-brown colour.
• Red, sore skin on his forehead and eyebrows, behind and on his ears, in his armpits or nappy area.

How can cradle cap be treated?
Massage a little olive oil or petroleum jelly into his scalp before bedtime. This softens the patches of skin. The next morning, wash his hair with a mild shampoo and gently rub off any loose scales. Don't pick off the scales as the skin can become infected. Repeat every day until all the scales have gone. Also, try evening primrose oil drops in case there is a lack of essential fatty acid. These can be massaged into the affected area. If the cradle cap is very stubborn, take him to the doctor, who may prescribe a mild hydrocortisone cream.

And remember what i told Sarah, Savlon works wonder for Cradle Cap. Just put a layer of it on at night and wash it off thoroughly in the morning. Keep doing it until it is all gone. It sure beats having to use a steroid cream like the hydrocortisone cream.

interesting read lana! i was going to say that D's cradle cap was like excema(sp?) cracked skin on her head without the redness.. if that makes sense hehe. A is showing signs of it in her eyebrows or should i say 'eyebrow' haha! *yes she's still my monkey baby*the hair on her ears is growing too lol*

Morning ... SO TIRED!!! Didn't get home til 12.15am & then in bed at 1am. E was due for a feed at 1.30am but let me sleep til 2.30am. I changed her & went to get her bottle ready & layed her in the bassinette in lounge room as I've been doing to get her bottles done & she went to sleep! I put bottle in fridge & her into bed & she slept for another half hour then wanted it! After that 3am one she slept til about 6.30 & I'd woken up too just before as I know exactly when she'll wake up now & she is constipated again (even though she did the biggest greenest poo last night with the funniest expressions & holding her Aunty Mandi's finger REALLY tight & going bright red,Lol) so I had her on changetable moving her legs etc but no poos so had bottle then & been up ever since as she wee'd on her wrap, got it on her clothes, on the rag on the changetable, then she was spewing everywhere after her bottle & I changed her this morning & washed her with a washer then did heaps more so now ALL bar 1 of her 12 cloth nappies (we use for spew rags not nappies) are in the washing machine! I am EXHAUSTED as had to disinfect change mat etc ......... OH & bloody cockroaches in the kitchen! We zapped them with traps but I swear this one is INDISTRUCTABLE! It's in the kitchen EVERY night when I get up! It was there last night & we blasted it with spray & it was there dead this morning but had to spray & wipe the whole bloody bench & everything on it! .......... HOPE U ALL HAVE A BETTER DAY THAN WHAT I HAVE HAD SO FAR! (& it's only 8.25am!)

EMMA - That's the startle reflex as Lana said before. Ella does the same thing but she'll scream for a sec then still be asleep so all is good ............. LT - I wrap Ella tightly but she always gets out of it & sleeps with her arms above her head! Only the last couple of nights she has stayed wrapped for a full 3 hour block between feeds! LOL ........... SHEZI - If Emma doesn't borrow your thing to let them sleep on their sides could I please borrow it? Ella loves sleeping on her side & I think we may get more than 3 hours between feeds at night time! I had seen them before & have looked a couple of times recently but they must sell well! ............... JAIMIE - Hope you are enjoying your JBT CD! ............. GOOD LUCK to the toilet training mum's! ............... LANA - Gorgeous Pic of Griffin! ............... VENT RE MIL - She was saying yesterday when came over how alert E is & she will be smiling soon & I said (I had already told her I'm sure) that she Smiled at 3 weeks & she said No it'd be wind Smiles and and I said NO they are REAL & how I'd thought she'd been trying but that I was mad thinking that so early but D & mum said same thing then she did & does every morning afterbottle & getting dressed! ... Checked my baby book at mum's last night and I smiled at 2 weeks & LAUGHED at 1 month & 1 day!!! ............... ELLA IS 1 MONTH TODAY!

emma let me know if you cant get hold of one of those roll thingys that lana mentioned coz i have 2 so i can send you one if you like. my mum bought 2 for my sisters twins but she barely used them so i'm using one for A.. love them. also its a darkish yellow with animals.. can post pic if you like.
Thank you so much for the offer Shezi :hugs: it's very kind of you. I should be able to pick one up tomorrow so if you wanna lend it to Carrie that's fine.

Emma, do you wrap your baby?
It stops them waking themselves up when they have jolty arm movements,
No I don't wrap him as in hospital he didn't seem to like it but I think I should start doing it again. Might make him sleep longer and keep him warmer coming into the cold months.
This is what happened this morning when I tried to wrap him

Thanks again Lana for that info...I think Cooper has a bit on his head. He had some just about his eyebrow but it has seemed to disappeared.

Carrie hope you day gets better. I also let Cooper sleep on his tummy as he likes it better but I do have a angelcare monitor...although I don't do it unless I have DH or someone else in the house...I'm too scare otherwise.

EMMA - Cooper is gorgeous!!! I don't let Ella sleep on tummy btw - that sounded wrong! Just likes it when cuddling me ............ I took her out of bouncer before to transfer her to cot as she seems to wake during day when put her in cot but anyhoo I tucked her up tight cos didn't want to wrap her as didn't want to wake her, 10 mins later she was crying so went in and the bugger was lying on top of blanket i tucked her into and moved to opposite side of cot! ........ gave her dummy which i thought maybe she just wanted (which she then sucked so hard & put her hand over it as if to keep it in there or not let me take it out!) then smelt her & she had wee'd so took her out of cot & she was looking at her WTP mobile & winged when I took her away from it!... Wiggly Woo is now on my lap. Just about time to wake Daddy I think - I'm starving! Having bacon, eggs, tomato, hash browns for brekkY!

good old clothies for spew rags, our nickname for them is 'spuker' and i have to wash them constantly! actually now that i am using mcns and still waiting on some orders, i am doing 3 loads of washing a day!! fortunately i find it quite relaxing and its always been 'my job'. DH's 'job' is cooking and dishes :)

DH was so great last nght, i had a headache all day/night then we had to go to my uncles 50th. got home about 10, gave Harper a feed then DH got up at 3.20 and gave him a bottle of expressed so i could stay in bed, what a good hubby!! so now its 9.30 and H and I are hanging out in the lounge so daddy can sleep in.

so not looking forward to him going up north in 3 days...

Morning.

Cooper is very cute Emma. Dont you hate that startle reflex. If I dont wrap Leah tight enough she wakes herself too.

Lana, Griffins smile is very cute too.

Not much going on here. Had an early night last night (8.30). Sam woke 3 times - think he was hot. Leah woke 3 times too but Im feeling better today than I was yesterday due to getting a couple hours more sleep albeit broken sleep.

Am teaching Leah to sleep without something in her mouth at the moment. Day 2 and going well so far. :fingerscrossed: She falls asleep very quickly when she actually decides to sleep....... keeping her asleep is another issue though.

Have had a really sore boob all night. Think Ive got a crack in the nipple. Ouch. Hope that nasty mastitis stays away.

Anyway, must get on. DH and DS have gone out for an hour. Leah is asleep in her HAB so I need to vaccuum.

Is anyone else ravenously hungry all the time? I feel like my throats been cut.

Morning girls!

Re the startle reflex, Babies only really do it when they are laying on their backs (another reason i love Griff sleeping on his side). The reflex does go away at about 3 months old.

Emma - I will let Griffin sleep on his tummy during the day while i am up and about so that i can keep an eye on him. I did this with Amity too. They both prefer their tummy and again, it means no startle reflex. Hehehe I think you need some nice big blankets to wrap Cooper in too.

Carrie - If you are worried about Ella wriggling out of her blankets etc, have you considered buying some sleeping bags?? It also assures that they wont wriggle under them when sleeping in their cot. (lots safer i think)

We are heading up to see my Brother and SIL today. They are taking their 3 boys bowling so we are going to join in!

Have great day!

Hey Emma (gorgeous little fella by the way, I love his cheeks!), I have some Dymples brand wraps from BigW that are a t-shirty stretchy material, Kes has real trouble getting out of them, so may be worth a go!

Anna :fingerscrossed: it's just a crack and heals quickly, no fun otherwise.

Lana, Amity's crush sounds very sweet, I'll bet he is tickled pink to have the little darling sighing over him :o

Quick note as folks-in-law about to arrive (MIL asked last night if she could watch me breastfeed... no thanks deary, LOL)
Kes refuses to sleep on his back in bed, likes to be on his side so he can pat me boob , had to laugh the other night as he was patting my left, but my right was so full he got a milk shower on the head! ROFL

Cheeky little monkey isn't sleeping anywhere but on me today, MIL is going to crack it big time when I wont let her pick him up (if he's still asleep), he is all hot and sweaty and grumpy today so if he wants to sleep on me... he can sleep on me! Hope he feels better later.

2 year anniversary today, yay!

Emma.. Sarah suggested a kiddopotamus wrap.. great fir wrapping them and difficult for them to escape. Toadlet only escapes one arm occasionally.
Definitely worth it if your wrapping skills arent brilliant. Lovely pics of Cooper.

I have one of those anti roll things but haven't used it .. yet. If you wrap them they can't roll over.

Carrie, when you do your posts, why don't you copy a line of spaces and then paste inbetween each paragraph.. or, see if putting html break tags in between work.. <BR><BR> for a paragraph.

I've got 24 spew rags (terry flats) very handy.

CarrieB, try and angel wings wrap, that way they are still wrapped but can put their arms above their head.

Wel done on Leahs progress Annsam.

So when is the sydney girls meet? I'm really looking forward to it. I feel very confident taking toadlet out now, even if he's due for a feed.

We found an apartment!! And got it too! (well put a deposit on, subject to approval).
It's in our old building which we LOVED. View of the whole city and harbour, and garden Island. 2 bedroom, lovely street.
More than 20 people turned up to see it.
DP went to check it out, I waiting at the estate agents with the application form already filled out and he called to say "Get it". Went in and asked to put a deposit on it. half a minute later someone else walked in and the receptionist said she didn't take deposits on the weekend and the owner will decide from the application forms. After the gtuy had left, she said "ok then, you can leave a deposit".

Very happy!! Now we have to move!! EEEK.

DP took lots of photos today and I've just uploaded them here (http://www.bizztools.net/m/)

Yeah, Ive just handed Leah to DH as I have had her attached in one fashion or another for over 24 hours now. Feel like I have an extra apendage. Shes been in her HAB or napping with me pretty much all day and night.

Happy anniversary!

Sarah, congrats on all the purchases. Thomas is our thing at the moment. Getting pretty bloody sick of that DVD.

Boob is still sooooo sore. Felt like I was going to vomit from the pain when she fed earlier. Took panadine which has helped for a couple of hours.

Had a pretty bad evening last night........lot of stress atm with dh working so many hours and trying to figure out this whole reno thing PLUS living at mums is trying to say the least....O is really picking up on all the stress and his behaviour is reflective of this:rolleyes:

Both O and I were over tired so both were crying before bed time, dh was beside himself lol and I said well try doing it on your own like ive been doing it for the last 7 days while your at work!
Its like he thinks i do nothing all day!

Thankgoodness both kids slept through......but both up at 5am so i guess it evens out.

Also congrats on the apartment, must be a load off your mind huh/

Anna........oh gosh i wish O had a Thomas fetish, thomas is such a useful engine lol
Have you seen the Thomas train shed at Luddenham? they have really cool b'day parties for kids. Check out BH directory for their website.
I think it was like $200 for 12 kids, party food plus rides on all the miniture thomas trains plus cake which is pretty cheap!

Lana......I love elmo too, BUT O has never been into puppets lol
Did you see the Oprah episode where the guy who does elmos voice was on???
His a HOT black dude hehehehe totally not what i expected lol I pictured him as a middle aged balding white guy!

Glad you had fun at bowling too I used to love bowling as a kid!

Gin......Happy Anniversary hunValentine

Shez......I feed anywhere anytime LOL I really have no worries pulling it out when bubs is hungry I did it at the hair dressers the other day, and at the park yesterday. It doesnt bother me in the slightest!

Iris did a pooey!!! I know gross but its been 7 days so im happy for her hehehehe
This time she wasnt quite as destressed as last week as im still using that stomach calm and it seems to help soothe her sore belly.

Have a nice day girls....

oh and Anna.....a few weeks is fine for me for the meet, ive talked my mum into taking O for the day so lets set a date,

how about the 9th of May? thats four wks away? what do you think girls?

Happy Anniversary Bluegin, it was our first anniversary too!!! And it was also my parents 31st wedding anniversary as well. The 15th April must be popular!! We had a very nice day - DH wrote me a very nice poem, got some take away thai. We will go out for dinner when my parents are back from holidays.

Nemosmum, sounds like you got some great bargins shopping.

LT, love the pics, hope you win.

Well Jacey slept from 10.15pm to 5.40am this morning and it was her first night in her own room!!! Very happy about that.

Hey does anyone else top their breastfed bubs with formula??? I'm thinking she is not getting enough milk in the evening/last feed and wont go to sleep until she feeds a few times. Thinking of topping her up tonight and see what happens. 10.15pm is too late for me, I dont mind 9.30pm but when she ahsnt slept all arvo its too much for her too.

Will post a pic later of Jacey

Off to dentist today

I only caught the last of the 60min program. I think I would do it for family or close friends maybe if hubby agreed. I think once you have a family you realise what someone who cant is missing out on. I'm with you nemonsmum, giving birth is pretty personal - not sure what I would do there.

Morning girls.

I was doing some washng in the night and all the electricity cut out. It did this twice and I figured it was cause of the machine . There was water on the floor and DP noticed the drain was blocked. Not sure if it was co incidence cause the machine was unbalanced that it cut out or if it was related to the the drain being blocked.

Hope the plumber comes today.

Nemos'mum, I would be surrogate for someone if I knew them and I knew they really wanted to have kids. Didh't love being pregnant though.

Happy Anniversary Tazzy and Bluegin.

Annsam, I'l be happy for a meet in a couple of weeks, I'll be busy packing and working the next week or so but could make it if needed.

as for topping up bubs nope i havent but only coz theyve all refused bottles.. i've been meaning to try to express for A and see if she'll take it but thinking i might just skip bottles again and introduce a cup early..

sarah i've offered to be a surrogate for my sis coz shes had 4 boys and i know she'd love a girl (the twins were through IVF coz her hubby already had the snip after their ds#2 haha) so they still have 3 embryos 'on ice' lol. i've said that if they bring back testing the sex then i'll carry one if its def a girl.. odds are it wont happen.. she only has a certain amount of time to decide whether to let them thaw out.. (that sounds terrible!) but yeah shes the only one i'd do it for.

Also dh has been a lot more confident than i am in regards to taking will out if he's upset or needing a feed. dh is worrued bub will get used to staying home if i don;t take him out everyday as that is what we have been doing but i picture i will b sleeping when bub sleeps more now as i will get more tired as i'll b solo.

Griff had a pretty good night last night. He slept for 4 and 4.

Not sure if i could be a surrogate. You bond with the bub while you are pregnant so it would be extremely hard to just give them up at the end.

Morning girls......just.

Have flicked off an email to DH to ask if he can have a day off on the 9th. will let you know.

Topping up - no I dont top up with formula myself but Leah does feed more in the evening. If you give it a go, you'll soon know if thats the problem I guess.

Surrogacy - yes I could but for someone I know well. Im not a fan on pregnancy but I love birth and would do it again in a heartbeat as long as I didn't have to keep the baby LOL (that didn't come out as I intended but you know what i mean). I have 2 good friends I would be a surrogate for in a heartbeat if they needed it. Both have issues conceiving but the issue isn't with them, its with their partners.

Feeding - I feed anywhere too.

Sarah, sorry to hear O is acting out. Sams just gotten out of doing that.......kinda. It was a rough 3 weeks or so though.

Nipple is still really really sore with a big white patch  Lord only knows what that is. A blister or graze or something. Anyway, Im expressing that one today so she doesn't damage me anymore.

Ive spent the morning this morning teaching Leah that her bassinet isn't a horrid place to be. Shes been attached to me in one form or another for over 36 hours and its starting to get a bit wearing to say the least. Ive become and accidental attachement parent. Anyway, after an hour of trying to settle her she slept 1 sleep cycle in her bassinet so I guess thats a start. Shes now in her HAB so we can get things done.

surragacy - hmm- depends on the circumstances but i don't know if i could do it. keep thinking about pregnancy and birth and thinking about "next time" (fingers crossed there will be more bubbas!). I wonder if i will try vbac or not... anyone else already wondering about these things?

We went to a wedding on saturday and found out two of our friends are pregnant! I am so excited as will will have some playmates by the end of the year!!!

Formula- we used karicare gold but will got lots of pain when pooing and constipation so we use nan now and it seems gentler. he stills gets a red face when pooing and whimpers sometimes.

my parents turned up on our doorstep sat morning with a talking teddy bear and giant lollypop for baby. was adorable! my dad said he wanted to buy william his first lolly! they love him so much... we all do. keep thinking about pregnancy and birth and thinking about "next time" (fingers crossed there will be more bubbas!). I wonder if i will try vbac or not... anyone else already wondering about these things?

Yip......... well not vbac but the whole "next time". We had our chat about contraception and age gaps yesterday. Part of me wants #3 (and final) asap to get all the baby years and difficult years out of the way as I really dont enjoy the first year (other than revelling in how small and cute they are) but
i dont think Im ready to have the "final" if that makes any sense. I love and hate the whole thing and Im not ready to leave that chapter yet.

Yip. We had our chat about contraception and age gaps yesterday. Part of me wants #3 (and final) asap to get all the baby years and difficult years out of the way as I really dont enjoy the first year (other than revelling in how small and cute they are), another part of me wants a decent age gap so its not too tough on the whole family. Decisions decisions.

hmm i want a 4th, chris doesnt.. he didnt want a third.. dont even know if he wanted a 2nd   ofcourse it all changed as soon as they were born (male logic of bub not being real till they see it:rolleyes: ) i'll work on him though in a year or so.. to time it in with D starting kindy (4yr olds.. two days a week & M will be in grade 1 then.
i really dont want a big gap between my kids but at the same time i dont want the kids missing out on time with me one on one.. the more i have the harder it gets.. it'll all work out.. it has to.:D
goodluck deciding!!

just read your edit.. im with you there.. cant imagine saying that A was my last bub ever.. to think i'd never experience this again seems so wrong.. *maybe surrogacy is for me* lol

We have been talking about the third today too!! DH only wants the two as he is happy we have a boy and a girl that are both healthy and doesnt want to risk having a third incase something happens during the pregnancy/illness or disability. I have a year to convince him. We would've went to 4 to have a girl so its really no difference. I dont know. I just wasnt prepared for it to be my last pregnancy/birth - perhaps if we knew the sex I may have been.

Anyway here is another pic I did up last night of Jacey, it was also taken yesterday.

Lana its good to have them home that extra time when they do nightshift though. Luke only sleeps half a day after coming off nightshift so he can help with kids.

LoL, yeah I dont think it sounded good how I originally wrote it.

Im the opposite, Ive only ever wanted 2 kids but DH wanted 4. We compromised on 3 but I actually quite enjoyed last pregnancy and birth so I could probably do 4 though if we did 4 it would have to be close together otherwise DH will never get to retire  .

Not sure how long Jacey is, will know next Monday. She was 54 at 5 days old!! She is 7 weeks today.

Oh how cute, today when Jacey was meant to be sleeping, everytime I would go in there she would give me a cheeky smile. Dont you just love this age....its magical.

I use a program on my computer called Microsoft Picture it. We have Windows XP. Thats where I chop the pics/ make them B & W/ and put them in the frames. You can do cards and projects etc.

Nice pic of Roxy Jaimie

Before I had my kids i would have said theres no way i could be a surrogate BUT now after experiencing pg and labour etc I think i could probably be a surrogate to someone i knew etc

I think I would have to have a c section though, dont think i could go through labour (too personal etc)

hmmm what do you girls think?
Could you do it? would you?
only for my brother, being pregnant was too hard! i can do it once more for us and once for him if he needed it.

Can everyone measure their babies feet? Toadlet seams to have very large feet. 9cm long @ 6 weeks.

Thanks for the compliments on the nappy.

my DH leaves tomorrow for a week up north after 10 weeks home (6 with bub). scary!! don't think i'll be going out much except for my appointments this week.

they have this fairly long plate for 'mothers groups' its like a bonus if everyone books as a group.. anyway its $99 to purchase so i was going to get it for my mil for mothers day coz chris has a sis with 3 kids so could get all six hands.. would look great! prob is i just know his sis wont contribute.. i dont care coz really its only $99 and his parents help us out but i think its rude of her. its her mum after all!

gorgeous photos of harper.. love his name.. how did you come up with it??

i remember when i was younger i loved the name thorne for a boy.. over it now.. so lucky M wasnt a boy lol! i just love 'different names' chris doesnt so thats why i have to settle for different spellings.

LT, A's feet are just under 7cm.. i'd never thought to measure the kids feet before hehe.

oh and LL i forgot.. with the tiles they can do the feet and toes different colours.. i did red & green for christmas pressies for our parents with D's first xmas. looks really good!

Hi all...

The most awful thing hapened to me before with Callum. I was feeding him and he got really upset and was screaming his head off then all of a sudden he was mid scream when no noise was coming out and his face went bright purple and he stopped breathing. I started screaming his name and then started to scream for my DH who came running in and screamed Callum's name really loudly at him which made him take a breath. OHH MY GOD I thought he was going to die in my arms...I started shaking and balling my eyes out..it was the most scary moment of my life...

I am soo scared of losing my baby and am now petrified of DH going back to work as I just froze and didn't know what to do. What if he does it again??? I feel awful as I am imagining what may have happened if my DH hadn't been there.

5 minutes later Callum did this huge vomit (almost the whole feed) and has now been asleep for 3.5 hrs on an empty stomach...I keep going in and checking on him every few minutes to make sure he is still alive. I can not get the picture of him going purple out of my head....

Sorry about the me post but I had to get that out as it is haunting me.

Has anyone had this happen to them and if so what did you do???

LT - I voted and yes can do the 9th of May for the sydney meet up!

Great pics of your bubbas girls...they are so precious.

Hello mummies - will try the spaces LT I don't know what html tags are? Happy anniversary to LL and BlueGin! Hope you had wonderful days! LT - What are angel wing wraps & where can I get some? Just voted for you in the sew off! Best of luck - you're kicking @r$e! Frangi - How scary! Poor thing. Apparently they do that. Ella was really upset one day, screaming in my arms & clenched her fists, glared at me, held her breath & went red as she had bad pains but she didn't hold it for too long. When she is quiet in her room for ages I also continually check on her for fear of her no longer breathing (paranoid mums I guess!). Hope this spacing thing is working! Lana - Was gonna say something in reply to you but I really can't remember what it was as a few pages back! Formula - Have switched to S26 Gold now & we have had 2 poohs today! Yay! Only thing is that the Nan was 150ml for her age & this one is only 120ml so she is still looking for more. I gave her some water between 2 feeds & this morning she could barely wait 2 hours. She was therefore awake & a bit clingy & whining all day but then slept for 2 hours + in the middle of the day & that was her only sleep! After her bath before I gave her the 180ml (for 3-4mths) and she skulled it & have put her straight in her cot. I am wondering if I keep giving her the 120ml during the day to keep her awake & the 180ml at night like that if she will sleep longer between night feeds? Only downside is I have been trying to come on all day but haven't managed between Ella wanting to be held & housework! Lol. Ella had the biggest smiles I've seen today! She was coo'ing with them as well - does this count as first laugh? Funny if it did cos I was 1 month & 1 day for my first laugh too! Unfortunately I tried to get a pic on my mobile but she luvs just staring at my phone! Haha ... Caithi - How are you feeling today babe? Emma80 - Did you find any bigger wraps & did they work? Last couple of days E has liked being wrapped again but eventually her arms come out! Kids - I want 3! We used to say if I had a boy we would keep going til I got a girl but stop at 3 if no girls. I want to maybe try again in December & have a September baby so it is most uncomfortable during winter & I get lots of quality 1 on 1 time with E before that. I think 18 months apart is a good gap. DH said no though! Then he said later if we do & I get a boy we stop there but I still want my 3 kids! Lol :) LT - E's feet are longer than my finger so prob around same size as the gorgeous Monty's! She has her daddy's feet in a mini version & looking more like him every day! Hope these 'para's' worked! Have a good night everyone! Sorry if I forgot anyone! Oh Anna - Congrats on Leah & the removal of the dummy & the sleeping in the basinette! Night!

OMG Frangi how scary for you! There is a small minority of babies/children that are 'breath holders'... For these kids, as they get older they hold their breathe in scary situations, when they throw tantrums etc. Maybe ask you GP or ECHC Nurse for more info on it. Glad he is ok now though!

Got a letter from Medicare today saying that Amity wasnt up to date with her vaccinations. I had forgot about the chickenpox one at 18mths. Thankfully they are all over and done with for her now until she is 4yrs old! Unfortunately though i have to take Griff in tomoro to have his 8 week ones... poor baby!

Ooh gotta go, he is calling.

Carrie.. dont worry about what the formula bottle says for amounts, just let her drink what she wants.
Monty has between 170 mls and 230 mls and it says only 150.

With the html tags.. just type <BR><BR> between each paragraph, see of that works.

With the angek wing wraps, just use a muslin wrap and google angle wing wrapping .. there should be somewhere on the net that shows you how.

LOVE all the photos.

Thanks for voting in the sewing comp. there may be a final round from the two heats,

Hi lovely Mummies!! :hugs:

Chelsea's feet are 8cm's long and she is 7 weeks old. She is 56.5 cms long now (49cms at birth) and weighs 4560grams (3410 at birth, with a drop to 3080grams in hospy just after birth..) she took 3 weeks to put back on the weight to get back to 3410grams.. so in 4 weeks she's basically gone from 3410g to 4560grams.. Is that a good weight gain?

How much formula are the formula fed babies drinking per feed and how old are they ... Chels is still on about 120-130mls for her night feeds every 4 hours and about 80-100mls during the day every 2/3 hours or so. She should be having more shouldn't she. She actually drank 170mls tonight for Craig lol that would be right hey! lol That is by far the most she has drank in one feed though.

Awww Frangi,
Than must have been such an awful experience for you to go through. I've had one bad experience with Chelsea and that was when we were away and she was 3 weeks old... she was screaming for about 45 minutes and it was a scream we had never heard before. We were sooo worried she was in mega pain and didn't know how to help her. Nothing we did was able to calm her and she began vomitting. We thought we were going to have to take her into hospital... after a lot of persistance and patience she began to slowly calm down.
The closest I have come to seeing a child not get any air was when my best mates little 14 month old slipped on some water on our kitchen floor. When she fell back - she sconed her head on the cupboard and was out cold. No blood or anything but when she came to (a minute or so later) she was screaming so hard that she got caught on a breath and didn't do anything for about 30 seconds. Gosh 30 seconds when they can't get a breath seems like about 5 minutes. It's terrifying. I am not sure how I would have handled things if it was Chelsea.. I mean I panicked when it happened to Mercedes but gawd, had it been Chelsea I probably would have just screamed and screamed and I am sure it would have affected me the exact same way that it has affected you. :hugs: You gotta try and stay positive, I guess, that it won't happen again otherwise you will drive yourself insane. Chelsea has been feeding before and stopped mid feed and screamed out in what sounded like pain... it's so disturbing when you can't do anything to help them. Try and think of some coping strategies that you can implement before Callum gets to that stage of crying again. Hopefully it doesn't all happen too quick...
You can come on here and vent your frustrations and fears etc etc whenever you want as we are all here for each other and can all sympathise as we're in the same boat. Hopefully you feel better knowing you have support here within all of us... I know you girls have been great with supporting and listening to me whinge and whine lol

FBOW - First day at home without Craig went well today. Almost went along like a dream. Not counting on things happening the same each and every day though - today was a bit more of a fluke lol when it came to how Chels was behaving/sleeping. Ohh and by the way I am already wondering and contemplating whether or not I will try VBAC as well. I used to see write ups in the Mother and Baby mags or Pregnancy mags and didn't take any notice of them as I always assumed the people going through VBAC's were in the minority and I was also a bit nieve to think i would have a vaginal delivery with Chelsea. I think I would definitely like to experience a vaginal birth - so at the moment.. I think I would give it a go. Mind you, when the time comes around, I may think the total opposite so won't decide until it's almost time to pop another one out. We are going to try to wait until just before Chelsea is 2 years of age before we try for another one (AT THIS STAGE ANYWAY lol)

Chelsea woke at 6.30am for a feed (DP left at 5.20am) and she then went back to sleep by 7.40am. She slept through until 10.30am and then I put her up on the bed with me on Craigs side and she fell asleep again .. while I got up and had a shower. When I got out the shower and got myself dressed and did hair etc, she woke again - I think it was about 11.15am and we got up, she had another feed and then had a play. She stayed awake for 2 hours and then started getting a bit grumpy, as she does now before she falls asleep..(most times after shes been up for awhile and/or playing). Then she slept until 5.30pm when Craig got home. I gave her a feed and Craig cooked tea and she went back to sleep before we sat down on the lounge infront of the BOX, to eat! I ended up getting dishes done, clothes towels etc etc washed and heaps of other stuff done. Like I said it was a bit of a dream day!!

Chelsea is still getting used to her playmat but spends a bit more time on it every couple of days... which is good for me cause I get a small break from having to entertain her lol

I've got a question about formula for you formula feeding girls. I am using Nurture 1 with Chels and I am wondering if a certain type of formula can be responsible for chelsea having HUGE wind problems. She has a lot of difficulty getting it up .. hmmm I should say "out" because it doesn't necessarily always come "up"... it exits both ends. She ain't afraid to fart lol thats for sure. Anyway .. is it worth me trying her on another formula...? I got Craig to buy S26 Gold tonight after he got home and have been debating on whether or not to try her on it when this tin of Nurture is finished in a few days.
Do you think it might help? Do you think it's worth a go..?
Will it affect her much if I change the formula on her... ie. would she be too used to Nurture that the S26 might make her vomitty???
She is already on Infants Friend drops before and after each feed and they help a lot but sometimes she has real bad wind pain for about 2 hours mid morning. (On average 3 mornings a week).

I put Chelsea on my breast earlier this arvo (after not b/f her for 5 and a half weeks), just to see her reaction, as I still have a milk supply - not sure how much of a supply but there is still something there. She loved it and I found it to be waaaayyyy more comfortable now that she has a nice strong suck and can seal her mouth off around the nipple better - better than she did during her first 2 weeks of life anyway. It was soo soothing for me to breastfeed her. I think it felt so much better because there was no pressure on me at all to HAVE to breast feed her. Of course she got bugger all out .. Im pretty sure it was bugger all because she stopped feeding from that side after about 5-7 minutes... and wasn't interested in the other side, as she just wanted to cry by then.. because of wind. I might try and express tomorrow and see if anything comes out... so I know if there's any point or not to trying to breast feed Chels again and then top up with the bottle. Will see how I go and keep ya all informed.
Do you all think I am silly for thinking it might be worth another go at b/f after all this time? I won't set my expectations too high because it's certainly quite possible that there isn't enough milk there for her.

I couldn't do the surrogacy thing as I would become too attached to bub whilst I was pregnant. I am a very emotional and sensetive person with very very strong feelings and I am sure I would become too bonded with the child to be able to give it up.. even for a friend. A little selfish maybe but it would be kinder of me (to my friend/ or other person etc) if I didn't agree to do it. I admire people that can as they are very very strong people and I don't have a problem with people that want to / or people that do... I think it's great that there are people out there that can..

LT - I will go and vote in a few minutes okay love!

My littlest cat, Nitro is clingy enough to me since I brought Chelsea home from hospital.. he's very jealous. I can only imagine how you girls with older children are handling things. I hope that the acting up doesn't go on for too long if you are one of the ones having problems with you other kiddies. Goodluck hugs for all of you!

Taryn - aww such beautiful photos! Love the one in the pink frame.... u did that yourself ?????

Might have been easier for you girls if I had broken it down into smaller messages but I thought I'd better get it all down before I forgot anything I wanted to write.

Ohhh Caithi - thank you so much for your input.. Im glad you think it's a good idea too (me trying the b/f again). I wasn't sure what anyone would think (not that it matters what other people think but I am just curious I guess). Craig just says it's up to me. He knows how stressful it was for me last time, so he's a little doubtful in saying anything too much about it. He will support me either way and no matter what happens but it's nice to get some other input from you and the other girls on here!

I know i really appreciate bfing this time around:yes:
DS does too lol his still fascinated by it lol and thats the only time these days that he sits still (to watch me bf Iris:eek:  )

I am seriously looking into our local Montessori preschool for O when he turns three in July,

Initially I was totally against the idea (as the kids go five days a wk 9am till 12pm)
Which i thought would be too much for O and I would miss him heaps etc

BUT now im thinking this may be the best program for him,
Its only three hours a day and he is getting to the age where he really needs the stimulation and I just cant provide it for him at home.

His the type of person who revitalizes by being around others and being constantly active etc and its bloody exhausting LOL

aww i dont know, am going to an observation day next month and will decide then.......that and the fact its pretty $$$
BUTwe will see sorry girls i know its boring to talk about toddlers when we could be going ga ga for our lil ones hehehe

Sydney gals.....any thoughts on a date yet?

Im off to get O ready his having an orientation morning at the local day care today before he starts on thurs......all i can say is thankgod as we are both going crazy being together 24/7 (I know that sounds bad BUT he is the kinda kid who never STOPS )
Ok Judge away LOL
only joking its just my own mothers guilt!

Ok just a quicky before i head back to bed (onl 5.50am here)

Caithi - Great to hear from you again! I was just thinking whilst feeding Griff that I might sms you to make sure everything is going good! Seriously babe, if things are getting on top of you maybe see what other help is out there. You dont necessarily have to go to the tresilian house.

Scoob - I think that trying the B/F again is a great idea! You might find that not having the initial stress on you to do it will help! :fingerscrossed: If Chelsea is only having the smaller amount of formula i wouldnt worry too much, all bubs are different . Re the wind issues, when you feed her do you make sure that the teat is completely full of milk so that she isnt sucking in any air?? Maybe that will help, if it doesnt though there is no harm in trying the other formula.

Sarah - The new daycare that Amity is in has a very similar philosophy to the Montessori schools. I think they call it the Regio Amelia Philosophy.

Griff slept a wonderful 6.5hours last night and has just got back to sleep after a feed! Ok well im off back to bed... going into the city today seeing as though Sam is home and Amity is at day care.

Thanks Lana & Sarah!
Like I said to Caithi, its great knowing that I am not just having a stupid moment re the 2nd go at b/f. I realise that it is going to be a slow process if I am to start trying again. Still not 100% sure so your words of wisdom are providing wonderful support for me.

Lana - you spoilt little mummy! 6 and a half hours sleep... how beautiful!~ Good boy Griffin, you're being so kind to your mummy!

I can't complain with Chelsea's sleeping - she's becoming pretty regular with her routine... although she has decided she wants the feed during the wee hours of the morning again that she'd cut out last week. She slept from 11.00pm to 3.30am (so a good 4.5 hours after her 160-170ml feed) and then we were back in bed by 4.15am (her quickest bottle feeds to date) so that was unreal being back in bed within 45 mins. She took 25 mins to feed and I left her the extra 20 mins to fall asleep enough so that she wouldn't re-wake once I'd put her back in the cradle in our room. Craigs alarm goes off at 4.45am to get up for work. I didn't wanna have him waking up earlier... so after that feed, (bottle again as I havent tried the expressing to see how much milk is there). I jumped in the shower while she was dozing back off to sleep.

We are going shopping today. I need to get some more clothes for Chelsea. Hmmm well not really LOL but I WANT to. hahaha She looks so cute in jeans.. so I am going to try and get her another pair or two and see what other pants they have there for winter...

To the mums that have older kids eg. toddlers or preschool kids - how old are the little ones when they grow into size 00? Chelsea's 000 bonds suits are a very very snug fit at the moment and I might have to move to the 00 size ones if I keep using them. She is only 4.5 kilo and 56cm long so she isn't a HUGE baby, infact she is quite average I think.. All the other 000 clothes still fit pretty nicely though. She actually still has some growing to do to grow into some of her pants lol ..

Whats everyone else up to for the day??

Does anyone know if there are any other Adelaide Mummies in our March Mummy thread. I don't think there is, is there?

Hey Scoob I remember with Logan those bonds suits are quite small in sizes. No idea when he was in them though.

I gave Jacey a 50ml top up with formula last night and she drank it all after a breastfeed. No probs taking the bottle straight on it. It looked funny as she was kinda holding the bottle too! She went to bed earlier to and slept from 9pm till 4.20am and then to 8.30am. So now I am going to try and increase my milk supply or express sometime inbetween so I can give it to her in the evening.

She has started gooing and garring the past few days too - so cute and smiling so much more.

OK mums group at my house in 15min better run

i really hope you feel like your 'old self' soon.:hugs:

Initially I was totally against the idea (as the kids go five days a wk 9am till 12pm)
Which i thought would be too much for O and I would miss him heaps etc

i think that would be perfect! i wish there was something like that for M!! 9-12 are perfect hours imo. if 5 days are too full on maybe keep him home wednesdays but from what i know about Orlando he will want to stay  3 hours just isnt enough time to get them bored so what kid would want to go home!?

i must look into the local montessori around here, M still wouldnt start till next year coz of the change in school ages but i've heard they're fantastic schools and very much into families helping and what not. can i ask how much it would be? for me to get M into daycare 2 mornings a week would be over $70.. thats really not a problem but i can think of other places that money could go! it was actually more expensive to have her in daycare than fulltime schooling at the local private school.. crazy..

scoob go for it re breastfeeding.. i'd definately be expressing quite a bit to help build your supply.. shouldnt take long tho to come back i dont think.. anna would know more :D chelsea sounds like a great weight, pretty much same as A but A is only 52.5cm  do i have the shortest march bub? i wouldnt be surprised hahahaha.

A is still in 000 bond suits perfectly, the bonds stretchies clothing 000 are still quite baggy.. keep in mind D who is coming up 18months still fits bonds 0's in stretchies haha most of her skirts are 00's. im not the person to compare kids sizes with lol. my girls are tiny. M takes after me and is perfect 50percentile D&A take after chris and are little like he was. really what chance do they have.. im 157cm & chris is like 170cm or maybe just over..

oh i will add every brand of clothing differs slightly with clothes..

Shez....thats the thing with Montessori they run a five day a week program, you cant just send then two or three days (I would if i could lol as to me five days at 3yrs of age is a bit much....but itis only 3hrs)

They run it on the idea that children require a three hour session with no set times for anything
For example if a child wanted to build a block city for the whole three hour session they could, no interupptions for story time OR music time etc
Its centred around the childs personal interest.......

Think it would suit O as he finds transitions hard to deal with and when his focused on something he doesnt like being disturbed lol

Also they have to start at age 3 even if they turn three in sept or Oct. etc as they run a three yr program.

BUT i do really like their philosphy and think it would suit O's personality.

hmmm decisions decisions:detective: :)

I cant believe D is still in 00:eek:
Iris is wearing 00 bonds wodner suits and barely fits into the 000 stripey footless ones atm

O is in size4 or 5 shirts and size3-4 pants already and his not even three yet! His a big boy!

OMG!! After marks family - yes 16 of them - decided to do a drop in last night she woke up at around 7:00pm and wouldnt sleep until around 2:00am - due to all their faces in hers for most of the night..... I thought that I was in for a rough night, however....

She slept until 9:30am this morning - I had to wake her because I woke up and freaked out because she was not awake ( thought that somethng may have happened ) and then I felt all this wet stuff and she had peed through her nappy but was still asleep.....

I fed her and now she is down again - I cant believe it! Did I seriously just get 7 1/2 hours sleep????:yelclap:

caithi what about a family dr? do you have one you trust??

i must look into the local montessori around here, .

Excellent idea, Im actually going to see him on friday because Im still bleeding quite a bit - how long did everyone else bleed for?

I love the Farmhouse Montessori - I cant wait till I can take anais there - very excited! She can start from 12 months or when she is walking - whatever comes first.

Anyone know of any activities that I can do wth her before she turns 12 months?

Hey Caithi:wave:

There is a stack of things out there to do for babies:yes:

Gymbaroo starts at 6wks old I think BUT they are pretty pricey (checked it out for O) It was $150 for 10 45 min sessions (thats for all age groups, so its not cheaper for bubs)
www.gymbaroo.com.au

I just saw a class here www.bigstepslittlefeet.com.au/bslfprograms.html
Its called Nuturing Pathways- Growing the mind through movement
Bubs can start from 8wks old BUT its only at bondi

Theres also mums and bubs swim classes from 6mths of age.

AND im pretty sure there are mums and bubs yoga classes too if your into yoga.

BUT Check out the BH directory for more:thumbsup:

BUT i do really like their philosophy and think it would suit O's personality.

Sarah this is exactly why I put Amity in there and she LOVES it! She is sooo full on and head strong that she loves having the choice of what she wants to do. Also, they leave the back door open all the time so that the kids can come in and out as they please. She loves playing outside. This morning when i dropped her off as soon as we walked in the door she said "Bye bye Mummy" and waved to me. Not bad for her 3rd week! She has not cried once when i have left, unlike the other place. God only knows what they were doing there for her to hate it so much!

Kym - Yeah i find that the Bonds wondersuits are a really small size too. Griffin is in the 00 now. For the rest of his clothes though i am guesstimating that he will stay in them until around 3 - 4 months as 00 are usually for 3 - 6 month olds.

Caithi - What a great sleep!! I bet you feel refreshed! I cant believe you had 16 people over there last night! I think i would have gone and hidden in a corner! If i am ever somewhere with heaps of people i tell them that i am the 'Hold Nazi' and that i dont want them all to hold Griff because he becomes very unsettled and wont sleep. I find if you say it like that (in a funny, joking sort of way) they dont get offended.

Shezi - Amity's day care is a bit more expensive but sooo worth it! We pay $60 for ONE day!! I dont mind paying that though because i know how much she loves it and it is so good for their social skills.

Well we are off to get griffins needles today so i gotta go. Then we are off into the city!

Hi girls

SCOOBS - Re the formula - I have the opposite happening lol - I swapped to the S26 Gold this week after being on Nan (oh & her wind is heaps better & she is bringing up wind straight away! sometimes I couldn't get a burp for hours & her pains have settled heaps plus she did 2 poohs yesterday after the constipation caused by the other) ... ANYWAY Ella is wanting the 180ml dosage for 3-4 month olds as S26 has smaller dosages than other formulas. She was awake most of yesterday & feeding every 2 hours on the 120ml & only had 1 sleep (usually sleeps most of the day!) for 2 hours then I gave her a 180ml bottle after her bath which she skulled. She slept for 6 hours then until midnight! She just needs to get the 6 hours from maybe 11 - 5am or something now!

I think it is a good idea to try & breastfeed again if you have the milk there & can increase it & it feels comfortable for you. Good on you!

Also Ella has been in 00 Wondersuits since about 2 1/2 weeks old as she is too long in the 000. 00 fits perfectly & we just roll the arms up once. I bought her some 00 long sleeve tops & long suits the other day in the sales. She is wearing 1 of the 00 tops whereas the others are a bit big yet. Ella is still wearing some 0000 things too o just depends on brands etc. The Bonds clothes are smaller.

LANA - I remember what I was gonna say yesterday - the sleeping bag suits - I have a Bonds one but smallest size is 00 & it is actually so massive she can't wear it yet! Luckily it hasn't been that cold here. She has been wearing a wondersuit & a flanno wrap. She is staying wrapped longer now it is cooler though! Lol.

Hope this html tag things work!

Scoob- Go and get some Fenugreek tablets from the health food shop or chemist. they are great for building your supply. Also if your really seriuos you can get Mottilium form a Dr. And if you want to go all out you can try a supply line, basically a small tube attatched to your nipple that feeds from a bottle of formula or EBM while Chelsea is breatsfeeding (so she is getting both at the same time. Its works on her sucking getting the let down reflex happening).

LOL. Ours is $69 per day and its one of the cheapest in the area. One of the guys that works for DH pays $90 per day and has to take nappies and lunch! No way I'd pay for that.

I read a heap this morning and have forgotten most of it sorry.

Caithi, if you want to give the breastfeeding a go again then go ahead. You know, women who have adopted babies are able to breastfeed with the help of a line and natural hormones kicking in (wont go into the details, its pretty complicated but Im just saying you can get your supply going again if you want especially if it hasn't stopped). I would put her to the breast and let her have what she can and do it regularly like every couple of hours for a few days. You'll get it come in much quicker using bubs rather than a pump but pumps second best of course. Good luck!

Congrats on teh good sleep too.

Cant believe your DP's family that is so rude.

Sarah, we have steiner school around here that Ive been looking into from K - year 12. Not sure if I'll send Sam there as Ive heard mixed things but Im really interested in it.

Ive forgotten everything I read this morning. I have such bad pregnancy brain still...... guess thats what sleep dep does. Actually talking of sleep dep I just tried to get a nap but the bloody air force decided to do flyovers with their jets. :banghead:

Cooper does that a bit too. It's rather annoying lol.

Marks Grandma on one side (one who said my wedding looked like a funeral because the bridemaids wore black)

That would have looked nice...my sister when she got married was going to have black bridesmaids dress and her wedding dress was going to be black and white.

Coopers in 00 already. It was sad as I was sorting out all his little clothes and putting away his little 0000's & 000's as he hasn't even had a chance to wear some of them yet. He still fits into his 000's little shirts and shorts which is good as he hasn't worn them let.

Dh doesn't want to put Cooper in daycare. I wouldn't mind when he's older of course as I'm really shy and I don't want Cooper to be shy and he needs to be around other little people I think anyway. Have to try and twist his arm

Caithi - Mark's family sound so rude ... I hope that you & Mark are okay. Stick together as you have your own little family now so that's the most important thing at the moment. And besides, Anais is such a gorgeous name! French isn't it?

Sarah - I don't know if it's different in other cities but we didn't get 'assigned' a Mother's Group at hospital. We just find one ourselves if we want to. I am going to the 'New Parent's Group' at the clinic. There was a huge list for one starting this month so starting one on 29 May for 4 weeks. I guess it is like my bf's where they went to the clinic for 4 weeks then if you bond & get on well (like they did) you can continue meeting at each other's houses once a week or elsewhere. She has made some great friends with gorgeous kids the same age as her little boy.

I am really looking forward to starting it & I am bit nervous at the same time though as I won't know anyone but I guess that's the whole point! Lol. Ella might be a little older than my group though since not starting til end of May. I hope me & Ella make some good friends (& they will all live in our area) that we can meet up with once a week as well.

Jaimie - I was on Motilium tablets 3 times daily before I fell pregnant for my reflux - they stop you throwing up. How do they help with milk supply?

Got a good pic of Ella smiling today & she looks so much like a pic of her cousin I have on the fridge!

Will put it on my avator.

Have a good night everybody.

Anna - hope you have a good sleep tonight! Glad E doesn't do that with her dummy!

Ooo!! I just remembered my new apartment building has a pool in it!

Free swimming for the toadlet and me.

Caithi.. if you are free this thursday and want to come over that would be nice.
If not, you can come for the day (or how long you like) when I have moved into my new place.

Sydney Meet: I'm happy with the 9th of May or any other day.

If it rains we can meet at my place.. maybe a pool party?

Yep.... the same people who all crammed themselves into my hospital room on day three when I was about to lose it emotionally and all made jokes about anais name....

Some classics were...
- Sounds like anus
- An A.... how about A B or A C
- AN.....AYYYYYY, is that how you say it?
An ayyyyyyyy? Thats unusual... everyone will get it wrong.

and ....

- Its ok if mark is dis. that its not a boy.
- Its a shame is not a boy
urghhhhhhhhh :banghead:
Can I divorce his family from my life? lol :fingerscrossed:
hmm they deserve to be shot :devil6:
too harsh?? hmm nah! my inlaws want chris to have a boy to carry on their name even though their 2 grandsons have their last name!(as his sis didnt do their birth certificates till after they split.. to be honest i dont think shes done them yet! crazy hey considering they're 5yrs & 19months!! she'll be in trouble for that! but yeah they want 'chris's son to carry it on' damn golden child lol!!

gorgeous photo of ella!! she's gorgeous! and no probs about the rolly thing hehe. enjoy!

i got a card in the letter box to pick up an item from the post office at 4pm today.. i think its bubs birth certificate.. i was so slack this time.. only sent it last week.. with M & D i had it done when they were like a week old hehe. oh well.. me and chris always argue over which 'commemerative(sp?) certificates' we want so we've got the girls 2 each

LT its much easier now isnt it with carries posts haha. i was just highlighting bit by bit! that way it didnt blend together.. (dont worry carrie we dont blame you lol - damn computers!)

sarah i looked up the motessori school in our area.. looks really good actually and yep they take them from 3.. i never realized that before.. it averages out to be about $70 a week too so same as daycare, its 4 half days over here tho but its monday to thursday.. im just debating if that would be too full on for M.. she needs more so structure.. if they left her to wander she'd get lost.. definitely going to give them a call and go have a look tho. sounds promising!! thanks for bringing it up

Carrie and Caithi....oh ok at my health clinic (well the one where we used to live) has a set mothers group for bubs 0-8wks on every weds 10am-12pm and then they have a group on fridays for bubs 9wks-6mths.

Carrie.....so glad the space bars worked hun, so much easier to read you now hehehe

Caithi......Yeah let me know how the bubs group goes:yes:

Anna.......Ive heard mixed things about steiner too, I dont think it would suit O though only because he is very sports orientated and NEEDS alot of direction/discipline etc
BUT i have heard some wonderful things about them in re: to children who are artistically focussed.

Shez.....Great hun, gd luck with it!

LT.....with swimming, I was way to chicken to take O swimming, even now we dont use public pools that much (due to his immune system not being so good)

Just becareful with taking bubs swimming at your apartment block too as we took O to my sisters one and he got very sick,
my brother later told me its all the germs in the air filtration systems in those apartment block pools etc
BUT hey it could just be O, god knows he gets sick at the drop of the hat!
I just wouldnt put his head/ears near the water etc.

gotta go O's in trouble

Ohh my god! That is terrifying!!!!! You poor thing. I would freak out too. I have no idea what i would do. Freak out big time! I hope u guys are ok.

I still can't believe it's all real and we have a beautiful baby in our lives, hearts and arms.

So true, and beautifully put!

LT- just put you at 12 vs. 11, so hopefully you get over the line! (And it is because yours is so awesome, no pity vote )
As for tootsies... when Kes was born I thought he had big feet... and at nearly 3 weeks, they are 9cm long!!! I've created a monster! He wasn't a long baby (52cm) so I guess that's why I noticed.

I am hoping to visit my MCHN tomorrow, and here they put you in contact with a Mother's group (I hear) so will look in to that too.

Caithi, grrrr to the relatives, and it's sucky when your DH just blows the comments off (I guess they can because they aren't so emotional, and it's their family). I cracked it yesterday, as MIL (in front of a group of people at the bank) said "Oh, so you didn't get any sleep last night?" when she saw me... I said "what, you're saying I look haggard are you?" really loudly, and proceeded to laughingly tell everyone how nasty a MIL she was :p Even DH got a bit crusty at her when I made a big deal about it. As for the holding, that is such a tough one, sometimes I just hide and have a good cry when I can't hack someone holding him, as I don't want to always be saying "no" to people :o

Anais is such a sweet and feminine name, what are they on? And I named my boy after a bird of prey... ROFL, so I hear you on the comments!

Thank you sooo much to you all for both your anniversary wishes (Happy Anniversary Taryn!!) and support regarding MIL wanting to watch... I can always count on you girls XOX

Scoob, have you had a look in the breastfeeding section of this site? I remember not too long ago there was a lot of discussion on how to get your supply to return if breastfeeding had been interrupted, if you can't find it I'd post a new thread, there are so many knowledgeable people on here! I think it sounds fantastic to try taking another crack at it, especially now it's not a matter of her health as she is doing so well on formula anyway, so the relaxed approach may work perfectly!

Anna, I think our little ones are total sooks for their Mums! Hehe, it is a lovely compliment, but it can be a bit much when all you've done for 5 hours is hold them (I'd like breakfast again some time this year!). I do just melt though when he's crying and only a snuggle on MY neck will sooth him, yay! LOL

I'm gonna show off a bit now... firstly, here is my second entry to the knit off (don't think voting has started yet):

Twinkle Twinkle (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v671/Edmund1/TwinkleTwinkle.jpg)

Kes took charge last night, LOL, I rolled away from him in bed and he started punching me in the back! He then proceeded to kind of "growl" until I rolled back towards him, where he promptly rested his head on a boozie and feel asleep. So cute, it's times like that that I don't care how tough it may be in the future to have him so dependant on me, the sweet little beggar. DH just loves it too, I sometimes wake to find him peeking over my shoulder and grinning at our little fool.

All your babies are so cute and grown up! I can't believe how many adorable "first smile" photos you all have, totally jealous!
I'm sorry to have such a mammoth post, DH has been on my computer the last few days (and have the in-laws in town) so haven't had a change, luckily though Kes has decided he loves lying across my thighs, so enjoying some typing time!

Here's hoping you're all having great evenings,

Awe thanks Shezi! We feel like we are the lucky ones. x

By the way - I can't believe how grown up all the babies are looking! Will seems younger looking, but has definately grown heaps.

I think finding out that 2 of my friends are pregnant has made me miss being pregnant! How strange!! I worry about my age a lot - first bub at 30. I hope I get the opportunity to have at least 3 - but I feel truely blessed to have little William so I must remeber that!

Every idiot sings that damn Police song 'Roxanne'
...her name is Roxanna you f wits! Some people are just so rude. I would never comment on any childs name....its fine to thin it but you never say it.
LT- I voted for you! you are on 13 now!

Hi all,

Thanks for all the support re my horror moment with Callum. Since discussing it with a few people I feel a bit more confident about what I will do if it happens again.

Caithi - sounds like Mark's family are a nightmare! Do what you have to do and don't pay any attention to what they say!

Scoob - great to hear that you want to try to BF again..but don't put any pressure on yourself, do what is best for you and bubs.

Bg - great outfit!

RE Names: my mum warns everybody before she tells them Callum's name that "it's a Scottish name" which just gives me the poops because I know that means she doesn't like it. But it is a name that my DH's family have used for 100's of years...we can trace his family right back as they are quite well known in Scotland. Linking my son to his past makes me one proud mumma!

LT- great news re apartment! I am happy for the 9th to meet up ...just need a place!

Should I be looking at activities for Callum?? I feel like a bad mumma as I haven't even considered activities for him yet... we are flat out with mother's group and meeting up with people for coffee at the moment.

Been too caught up to get on line these days and Matthew is still not settling well during the day - getting better though.

Frangi - :hugs:. Sounds like you had a scary moment.

TMI Question - is anyone still bleeding? I thought I had finally stopped last week (had 2+ days of nothing at all) only to have it start up again in earnest on the weekend. Its like I am having a full on period!!! I'm breastfeeding and don't expect them back for months. Hope nothings wrong in there :fingerscrossed:. Thankfully I've got my OB checkup on Thursday so maybe he can tell me whats going on.

I'll try and get on-line more - I miss you guys!

Hi Frangi,
THanks!

We've arranged to meet at (deleted by moderator) so some of the mums with toddlers can let their kids play on the swings. There is a cafe there.

Martin Place doesn't have lifts and sometimes there is only one escalator to escape from there and it only goes one way. Up or down. SUCKS!

Nice to have you back Mum2Ryan.
I am only bleeding a teeny tiny bit now (6 weeks).
It kept going then coming back two days later.
Meanwhile I can STILL feel my stitches,

Caithi, I posted a reply to you in the other sewing thread.
"Caithi, you can have one of my pink ones I've already made when we catch up. I've got 4 left. Monty doesn't look too good in pink".

I came home to 4 1/2 pages of reading to catch up on ladies!! What are u trying to do to me!?

Hold Nazi.... too funny lol - Marks Grandma on one side (one who said my wedding looked like a funeral because the bridemaids wore black) is german lol so Ill do it for shock value too he he :devil6: (im a grumpy bi#%h at the moment )

Might even do the hand signal and click the heels :devil6:

Caithi you sound very similar to me lol! I saw a gorgeous dress in a shop window that i am determined to have as my bridesmaid dress and yep, it is also BLACK! (oh and no, im not engaged...yet! I know its far off though coz Sam keeps stopping and looking at rings to see which ones i like! hehe)

Lana - where is the reggio emillia centre? i am very interested in 'alternative' learning. well, for younger age, for high school DH says he is going to his school (wesley) - we are going to open a school fees account shortly, its soooooo expensive!!!

LL - The Regio Amelia one that Amity goes to is in Melville (just 5 mins from my house) The girls in there are fantastic!

I worry about my age a lot - first bub at 30. I hope I get the opportunity to have at least 3 - but I feel truely blessed to have little William so I must remeber that!

Aww i wouldnt worry about your age hun! I think that 30 is actually a pretty common age to be starting a family nowadays! Im sure you will get the 3 kiddlings that you want!

Went and bought Griffin a playmat gym today... Its a really good one and he will get so much use out of it. It goes from laying on their back, to tummy time and then can be used when they can sit up on their own. Only $55 too and its Fisher Price! ;)

Well Sam has started his week of night shifts tonight. He started at 5.30pm and wont get home til 4.30am!! Poor guy. I will have to try and keep Amity as quiet as possible during the day so that he can sleep. I cant even take her out as my car is being put in to be fixed tomoro so i wont have that for 3 whole days!

ETA: LT when i voted you were winning.... 25 to 14!!

LT- sounds like you've had a busy day with the cleaning! Hope you have a lovely long sleep now.

Frangi, Callum is a great name anyway, but add the family connection and it's even better, shame she can't see that :shame:

MumtoR+1, nice to see you around again, hope all is well! I still have reasonably bad bleeding, varies a lot though.

Should my bleeding stop soon being a ceasar? Also, anyone with a caesar got numbness in the scar area, or lumpiness under the skin? I've been getting some annoying stabby soreness in the area which I'm hoping goes soon... grrrr

hehe! i've voted.. yours are both winning.. i went with the stars.. SO cute!

re bleeding well i realised yesterday that my period hasnt come yet.. starting to think i might get lucky this time and not get my period while i breastfeed!!:D with M & D it was pretty much stop bleeding by the time bubs were 2weeks old then i had my period 2weeks after that! not nice!

carrie haha got to the post office and realised you never said what your surname was! its addressed to Carrie & Ella! i had to take it out of the packaging tho to fit it into the bag.

got bubs birth certificates back but for some reason they didnt put the "birth extracts" in.. odd.. must ring tomorrow.

i love the names Anais & Callum.. yes i did think anais was pronounced anay-iss but gosh look at my kids names!! poor little things  Anais is a beautiful name and if people need to be corrected it'll only be once. why do families feel they can be so rude? i would never bag someone over name choice.. afterall its their choice. if your families care so much tell them to have their own kids and name them what they want!

lana wasnt 100% on dates but if the belly cast was gonna be ready this week i can always come pick it up.. i dont mind.

i might be going up to see my grandparents tomorrow.. its so hard as they're getting older and starting to forget things.. its so hard to see them like this. i feel really bad for my mum.. talked to her earlier and she was a bit upset.. we're all kinda in denial, mum especially coz she works at a nursing home in the dementia wing so she knows how bad some people get and she also notices certain signs before the rest of us.. but it'd be so different coz its your parents.. my grandparents still live in their own home, they never wanted to go to a retirement village and definitely not a nursing home(dont blame them!)
it'd just be easier if everyone could stay young..

sharon is it possible that it was your period? i hope little matty settles for you soon. how are you going with both ryan and matty?

OK so I didnt give Jacey a formula top up last night to see what happens and she didnt go to sleep until 10.15pm again. She woke at 3.40am but she has escaped from her wrap so she was cold but fed her and she's still asleep. I just cant stay up that late. 9-9.30 is OK for me. Might try top up tonight and see what happens. I just dont want her to get used to the bottle and self wean. I LOVE breastfeeding. I went through the same thing with Logan at the same weeks and ...hey maybe its a growth spurt!

LT voted now, you are in the lead and I dont think Oscar's mum will catch up.

Getting my thank you cards printed today. Just doing a montage of photos and then I will write on the backs of them - will post it later.

LT Logan started swimming lessons at 12 weeks old in a public pool and never got sick from it. He has only ever had croup and the rota virus but that was when he was older and got that off other kids. I did have a friend though whose little boy had a weak immune system and her doc told her not to take him swimming in the public pools.

OK well DS cant stop saying mummy at the moment, even when I answer he just says it again or tells me one thing and says it again and then say another thing and its driving me insane :banghead: and he still has no volume control!!! A friend told me yesterday that someone once said "And to think I couldnt wait to hear you say mum" or something like that. I've pm'd you all. Hpefully I ddin't miss anyone.

Thanks HEAPS to all those who voted "unsoilcited" *giggle*

House nearly clean, just got to do the bathroom.
Got to make it look like an apartment that rents for $440 a week. Probably no one will turn up.

Jaime.. wear something "really slutty" just to shock him.

BG I voted for your strawberry one. LOVE IT!! Hopefully all our votes split between the two entries will still add up to more than everyone else.

I'm taking toadlet for a swim tomorrow!! YEAH. very excited,
First things first though, I'll have to do some "muff maintenance" before I put my bikini back on.
Also buy him an aqua nappy. Not sure if one of my pocket nappies would be allowed?

Frangi, what suburb do you live in?

People coming to inspect the apartment at 12.30, better get showered etc cause toadlet wakes up at 12 for chomping time.

DP thinks toadlet looks like a maggot when he's all wrapped up. Maggot Toadlet (http://www.bizztools.net/m/images/15_April_2.jpg)

he also lights up like a christmas decoration when he squeezes out a poop. Red White Red White Red White. Such a versatile and useful kid!

OK so I didnt give Jacey a formula top up last night to see what happens and she didnt go to sleep until 10.15pm again. She woke at 3.40am but she has escaped from her wrap so she was cold but fed her and she's still asleep.
thats pretty good tho! Harper only slept 9.20-11pm, 12-2am, 4-5.30am. of course, first night without DH. hanging for arvo nap time...

Getting my thank you cards printed today. Just doing a montage of photos and then I will write on the backs of them - will post it later.
that reminds me, i've written my notes but need to do all the envelopes.

well, first day on our own. quite pleased that i managed to get a load of washing and a shower in before 10! might walk down the shop later then going to my parents for dinner.

Should my bleeding stop soon being a ceasar? Also, anyone with a caesar got numbness in the scar area, or lumpiness under the skin? I've been getting some annoying stabby soreness in the area which I'm hoping goes soon... grrrr

I think my bleeding has stopped - been 5 weeks and 3 days since my c-section. It went away then came back so guess i'll c if it stays away now. It stopped a few days ago.

I still have a lot of numbness around my scar. It is numb about 7 cms above the scar and when i stand up and look down at it it is lumpy on one end.

By the way - does anyone know how long it takes for ur period to cme back if u aren't breastfeeding? Been so long since i've had one i'm scared i'll forget and it will come when i'm out somewhere!

Voted for strawberry bluegin and for u LT!

Hi girls,

Chelsea has been great the last 3 days since Craig has been back at work! Im sooo surprised - Must be doing something right hehe.

BG - I stopped bleeding at about 5-5 and a half weeks too. For about the last 2 weeks of that, it was just a discoloured discharge. How annoying though. I couldn't wait to just get back to my normal self. I too also have numbness about 7 cm above my scar. So strange that I am so similar to firstbubonway. I wonder if your the same BG. When I look down, I see a nice neat scar, still quite redish but very straight. It's slowly but surely still repairing itself. Still bumpy but nowhere near as bumpy underneath the skin as it was, even 3 weeks ago. It's been 7 wks and 2 days since my caesar though so Ive had a bit more time to heal than most of you other girls who've had caesars.

My mate had a caesar with her daughter Mercedes 22 mths ago and she said her numbness didn't start disappearing for about 8-12months. She has got most of her nerve endings back now, so all feels normal for her again and her scar has faded really well. She said it took just as long for the bumpiness under the skin, to disappear and become smooth as well. So basically by the time you decide to have the next bubba - it may all happen again lol

Had my 6 week postnatal check last Friday, even though Chels was born closer to 7 weeks before. They couldn't fit me in until then. The doctor spoke with me about contraception and I had already got a script for the depo injection organised and filled so I got a midwife at the hospy to give that to me (in my butt cheek) after my appointment. Going by what I remembered from the Depo injections, they hurt - but that was maybe cause I was getting them in my arm. The midwife suggested the butt cheek and said it was nowhere near as bad - and honestly, I didn't feel it.. and I also had no sore area after either, unlike the soreness and heaviness you get in your arm.

Anyway the doc said to me that if you have a caesar, then you sometimes don't even miss a period after you give birth. Your cycle can go straight back to normal.. it's hard to tell when you might get it though as you can't determine where you are in your cycle when the caesar takes place. I was sooo surprised when he said I might get it back straight away. He also said that breastfeeding normally does delay your period for up to about 6 months on the average but you can't necessarily use that as a a solid thing to go by either because some women don't even miss a cycle too. Keep in mind that everyone is different... but thought you might like the info that the doc gave me.

Funny enough, I woke up this morning and I had a tiny bloody discharge - so I am thinking this might be my period starting. Put that together with the pain I had yesterday and it makes complete sense.

Thanks for the votes m'dears! You're doing me proud :D

I sure hope my recovery goes as well as you guys, sounds like the bleeding may have another week or 2 to go though. I had a slight bleed from the middle of the scar last week, and overnight it has opened up, so dramatic looking today! If it doesn't close again I'll see a doc, but going to the MCHN tomorrow so hopefully she'll be able to advise.

Taryn, that pic is a classic!

Noticed this morning that Kes is starting to interact a little more, so now when I tickle his tummy and talk nonsense to him to calm him down it actually works! (Usually he'd just start screeching as usual at that point). He has also started really enjoying his stretching at night and when he wakes, really gets in to the whole thing, LOL, super cute

Jaimie- at least now you can punish him... wearing that new outfit but not letting him near you :devil6:

Kes and DH cuddling on the couch watching TV together, a beautiful sight!

Sarah, don't you just hate dealing with Government departments!?! Grrr
I can't get the baby bonus or maternity payments still, as I need some stupid citizenship documents of DH's that he doesn't have, even though he has been a citizen for over 20 years! Seems ridiculous to me, they happily take his tax every pay without this info, but wont give a penny back

Chelsea Luuurrrvvveeesss :o her Fisher Price Ocean Wonders aquarium. She's not all that keen to look at it at all (as yet) but loves drifting off to sleep with the music going! BG thats stupid, typical though of the government

Scoob, Jacey isnt a big fan of music yet. She doesnt like to play for very long under her activity mat thing or in the automatic swing. I can get about 5 minutes out of her. She prefers to be entertained by me or her brother which doesnt give me much time to do things.

Does anyone know what ages bubs go through growth spurts??

I just feel like I have no milk :crying: or not enough for her. I get a really good 3 hours sleep out of her a day usually in the morning after a good feed (when I have milk) and then for the rest of the day she cat naps and feeds a lot more.

I know I'm not resting like I should be as its hard with a toddler. Any other mums experiencing this?

I was hoping to breastfeed for 8 months but I feel like I'm not going to last. I drink plenty of water but havent tried the fenugreek tablets yet.

so how many march mums have put bub in his/her own room?
during the day and evening, i put the basinette in his room and he naps in there with the monitor on (i shut his door so the cats don't go in, woody discovered the cot the other day and i don't want him to start sleeping in there!) but at night he is still in next to my bed. i can't imagine putting him in the cot yet, it is so big! but he is quickly outgrowing the basinette so we'll see...

yeah, I'm pretty frustrated with Centrelink at the moment!

Scoob- haven't tried music, though I imagine he's too young anyway at the moment!

Taryn- Kes has been changing his routine lately, now he doesn't like to sleep at all in the morning, and is a big fan of eating every hour or so (had 4 feeds before lunch!) so I imagine he is going through a 3 week growth spurt, don't know when they're meant to happen though. It might not mean your supply is down, I was worrying about that myself the other day but I have heard that once your supply is established you stop feeling "full" which can be deceptive. The fenugreek tablets can't hurt though I imagine! :fingerscrossed: for you

Scoobs.. thanks!
Also, Monty doesnt listen to music to go to sleep. Only when he is awake.
I just put his music mobile in his cot up and he's played in his cot listening to that if he wakes up early.

LL. Monty sleeps in a basinet in my room during the day and in his cot at night in the lounge room.. next week it will be his own room! He sleeps just as well in his cot as the basinet. I use the pram basinet and if he's asleep when we go to bed I just put the basinet inside the cot.

I'm looking forward to getting removable wall stickers for his room.

Sydney Meet... I'm happy to meet where ever Sarah & others finds it the easiest. Sarah, if we do meet at the Xross there is a lift there. I can meet you there and walk to the park together.
Go to platform 24 at Central and three stops later you are at the Xross.

HI Girls,

Caithi, your in box is full.

Frangi, Sam stopped breathing when he was 4 months old at night. It was incredibly scary. I so feel for you and the experience you had. :hugs:

Scoobs, hows Chelseas hips? Dont think I told you that Leah may have to have her head broken at some stage in the next few years. She has a small fontanel and its quite possible it will fuse early. Im like your DH, Im not worrying about it unless it happens...... or trying not to anyway.

Meet up - anywhere is fine for me. DH has said he will look after Sam.

Jaimie, I am still craving choc. Im not usually a sweet tooth (except pregnancy) so perhaps that is why I still am :detective: .

Sorry girls, I haven't read all the posts and the ones I skimmed earlier today I cant recall what was said  . Going a bit senile I think.

Leah had her checkup today and its not all brilliant. Shes only put on half the amount of weight recommended in the past two weeks (wonder if thats to do with my diet. I haven't been eating as well or as much as I should), and she has newborn rhinotitis (the constant congestioin). So shes over her cold but now has this post nasal drip type thing thats going to hang around for a few weeks unless we can get rid of it by squirting saline up there for the next few days. Apparently that white spot and ache in my boob I had the other day was a milk spot where the skin had closed over one of the duct opening. NO wonder it hurt like hell.

Taryn, have you tried feeding more frequently? Also are you overly stressed or tired (more so than having a newborn makes you that is). Also hows your diet? Are you eating well? Those are the main contributors to supply dropping but in the first 6-8 weeks it does drop and pick up, it takes about that time to sort itself out so hang in there. :hugs:

LT, love maggot toad LOL.

Sarah, that sucks about medibank. So you can just call to get the babies added? Ive been waiting for the birth cert.

Anyway, Sam is chasing the cat and Leah is complaining that her dummy has fallen out so best dash.

Sweet dreams girls.

Sorry i havent replied to everyone. Sam and I had a big blue this arvo beofre he left for work (about him not helping me enough and me apparently being 'lazy' because the house isnt clean!) Anyway, I got really angry and threw a washing basket at two walls (it broke oops) and then slammed the study door closed. Still full of anger i went to hit the door and got the door frame instead. It is sooo sore, i think i may have either bruised it extremely bad or possibly fractured it a little bit. I felt like an idiot afterwards of course. Gotta love self inflicted injuries hey!

Scoob - re music: I was out at Mum and Dads for the weekend and they had this wonderful set of Celtic CDs which Matthew seemed to really like. He also likes "The Who" and "Bond" and generally all music. We tend to have the radio on all day at home just so the house is not so quiet.

LL - Matthew has been in his own room since we came home from hospital. I find I just can't sleep properly when he is next to me as I hear every little movement and noise. When we had our week at the Gold Coast I ended up putting his bassinet in the lounge room when we went to bed.

Sleeping - Matthew generally goes down ok after the 7pm feed and a 10pm feed but then the next feed (anywhere from 2:30 to 4:30) he just doesn't go back to sleep. Daytime is also a trial as I seem to only get up to 1/2 or 1 hour before he stirs. Often I can get him back to sleep but only sometimes for another 10 or 20 mins. Right royal pain in the a$$ and I just don't know how to get him sleeping better.

Anna - I hope Leah's weight picks up. make sure you take care of yourself and don't forget to drink lots of water.

Me - I made it back to the gym for the first time today. Just loved it!!!!! Hoping to get back into a routine now and see if I can get some of my baby weight off :fingerscrossed:.

Crappy day today - DH very stressed and that always makes life hell!!!! I am sure Matthew is picking up on it too. Sooo tired, been awake since 4:15 so should really go feed little Matt and get to bed myself.

Sorry for the long post.....

PS Bought a motorised baby swing of ebay today so can't wait for it to arrive. Am hoping it will help Matthew sleep for longer during the day.

sorry sharon just realised i keep referring to matthew as 'matty'. i hope matthew likes his new swing!!

as for putting bub in their own room even tho A's is like 3 steps from our bedroom door to hers i wont be putting her in there for a while.. the further she is from M & D the better as my girls are light sleepers so i dont want them messing with each others sleep.. or more to the point i dont want to be running from D's room to A's settling them both at once!

A has been feeding like crazy.. barely letting my boobs fill up.. she really drained them tonight didnt even have 'let down' my poor boobs look terrible lol. hopefully she has a decent sleep.. i didnt go to bed till after 11 last night.. not smart at all considering i've been up since 6. but mum had the day off today so she had M & D while i went to the shops then again while i did my food shopping.. love my mum! hehe.

any ideas what i could buy her for mothers day? already got her card from me and also another one from all the grandkids. i really want to get her something special.. looked at those charm bracelets at smallprint but they're unable to get the prints from my nephew & nieces in brissy so theres no point just doing the 7 in WA. im going to get an inky feet tile just with my girls for her but i still want something else..

Tazzy - Chelsea doesn't think much of her playmat either. I spent $130.00 on it and she thinks nothing of it LOL Nah.. she's slowly getting used to it. Spends a little more time every OTHER day on it. Today she was swinging her arms up and hitting some of the toys that hang down and laughing. It was really cute.

I took photos on Craigs camera but can't upload any yet as he needs to use his software to put em on his puter and then copy them onto CD then onto my puter as I don't have the correct program to do it from his camera straight onto here. Bugga! I was going to use my camera but when I switched it on - it went funny. Just started showing different tones of purple and you couldn't see a picture at all through the view finder or on the digi screen. He thinks it's completely stuffed  . That sucks because it's an unreal camera and now I inherit Craigs and he gets the new $2,000 one her wants. He's a bit of a photographer so only the best for him. I can't really complain though because, I get his current one, and that was $2,000 to buy at the time also - and I'm no photographer LOL. I take an okay picture but nothing too special like he can. Will put some pics up of her on the playmat too on my photobucket site in the next couple of days and post some links..

Hmm I might even hook my camera up and upload the images that I have on there still (they're different ones though and from last week sometime..) nothing happened to them so that's kewl - thought I may have lost them but phew, I didn't! Shall do it after my post though :smiliedance:

LL - yeah you should buy the FP Ocean Wonders Aquarium, its unreal - Chelsea is getting used to me switching it on now whenever I lay her down to settle for a sleep and at night when she goes off to sleep on the lounge before I carry her into our bedroom and put her in the cradle... It's sooo helpful and a great invention. Saves me about 25-40mins trying to rock her/nurse her to sleep. Great soothing accessory LOL - I have 2 at the moment. I bought a brand new one off of eBay (aka EvilBay) before I found out I was pregnant and then my cousin (Simone)(the one that attended all Chelsea's antenatal appts, all her ultrasounds and was allowed in theatre when Chelsea was born) gave me her one from when she had her two boys Brayden and Jarrad (4 & 5 years ago) - I would send you one of them but by the time you add P&H, then it would be much cheaper to just go and buy one from Target or K-Mart or somewhere similar....
I highly recommend you buy one though - good investment.. tell DH that you had a hard time with Harper at some stage while he was away lol and someone recommended you invest in one... plus anything you buy now, you can use for your 2nd and/or subsequent bubba's.. It's so it's worth it!

I am also in the same position as you LL.. Chelsea was 56cms last week and is growing a cm each week. Her arm was sticking out the side of the cradle between the rails the other morning when she was wriggling about ... don't like the idea of that - so had a chat with Craig re Chelsea moving out (of our room lol) and into the nursery, to her cot. I think the same as you - the cot is massive still for her!! Will try and wait another 3 weeks or so though as the nursery is way down the back of our huge house and our bedroom is up the front... I have 2 safe and sound monitors I can use but if she cries (which is guarantee'd, then I have to get up and walk all the way to the other end of the house, everytime). I wouldn't mind if it wasn't too often but I know she will winge a bit, especially getting used to the new room and not having the comforting but annoying sound of Daddy's snoring (oops and Mummy's snoring) LOL LOL LOL

Anna......aww hun Orlando had the newborn rhinitis, well he still has it(rhinitis that is) and needs claratyne most days just to cope with the syptoms.

Its awful but your lucky you got it diagnosed, when O was a bub everyone just kept telling me it was normal:mad: its very frustrating to feel that something isnt right and no one listen!

If it doesnt clear up I would reccommend booking in to RPA allergy unit for a skin test (we had to wait 5mths to get in, but they are the best and FREE! accept if she needs to see a dietian you pay about $150 for that but well worth it)

It was great as we finally got the answers to what causes his allergies especially his rhinitis which causes lots of problems for him if not treated (ie breathing issues and hospitalisation!)

Got my :fingerscrossed: that Leah grows out of it v.soon hun

Shez......got the bubble blower from here
www.kidscentral.com.au

BUT i know you can buy them from here too
www.earlylearningcentre.com.au

They are $40 and you need to buy 4xC batteries and the bubble mix, it was so cool when I told dh to turn it off after almost two hours lol he said "um can we leave it on i like it" hahahahaha what were you saying about your 4th kid? i have three too hehehe

Your poor sis!
About the girls lol i was just saying to Iris last night shes lucky shes got an older brother to fight off all the boys coz she is just so darn gorgeous :D  hahahahahaha
Chris is going to be busy with your three girls LOL I just feel sorry for Iris as she wont be having any sisters to take the fall for her if she cuts curfew hehehehe

Is anyone NOT going again? as in babies?

I feel a bit sad that O wont have a brother (even though my nephew is really more like his brother they are very cute together but fight like their brothers hahaha)

BUT i feel worse for Iris as i have two older sisters and had the best childhood coz of them!

No must not think about any more babies lol

I rang my midwive yesterday to get the number of the nurse who can burn off Iris's granuloma and it was the middie who helped delivere Iris, she got all excited and said "are you pg again?" hahahaha
She said i should go again and again and again LOL

Its O's first day at the new kindy and im going shopping as Im having friends from my old mothers group over on friday so need to make some yummy stuff to eat!

Morning.

Thanks Sarah. Apparently it is really common in newborns so Im hoping its not alergies :fingerscrossed: .

Lana, sorry to hear about your fight. We are fighting lots at the moment too...... haven't broken any washing baskets mind you - just sulked a lot. DH wouldn't dare call me lazy though - his life isn't worth it.

Scoobs, I might have to try to find that aquarium thingy. Ive been looking for a sleep toy that plays music as Sam has one and its worked a treat to tell him its time to sleep. How long does it play for?

Thanks Gin. I guess Im not worried so much because we went through hell and back with Sam about his weight only to find after many tests etc that its just him and wasn't a genetic illness or something bad in the throws. Im not going down that path again unless it looks likely.

Sleeping, Im thinking of trying to move Leah to her own room in a month or so. Shes still feeding 2-3 times in the night but she sniffs and snorts so much that I just pop her into bed with me only shes now deciding that shes not going to necessarily settle. Shes quite wakeful from 4am generally. Once she settles a bit she'll go to her own room. I just dont want her waking Sam at the moment as its right next to his room.

Nothing else going on. Going to try and get both kids in the car and to the shops for groceries by 9.30am. Logistical nightmare but we'll give it a go.

Have a good day girls.

Lana,. I hope you and DP make up and things get better.

Is anyone NOT going again? as in babies?

Sarah, we are going to re asses the situation when toadlet is 3. I thought I wanted 2 straight away but running my business with two toadlets would be impossible, I could handle it once Monty is 4 and at school, but by then DP will be 47 and I'll be 39.

Plus we dont want to risk something weird coming out. DP already thinks with Monty I have taken all his (DP's) features and done something very strange to them.

Very excited about my swim today.. sorry, Monty's swim. A friend of mine is beinging his little son and might bring his brand new daughter as well, 5 weeks old.

Still deciding if I'm going to just let him go under the water and fend for himself. I know theoretically he will hold his breath automatically.. but he's my son and some how he'll likely stuff it up.

Did the fake tan and some much needed muff mainenence. DP called me the Grand Muffty.

I think finally my stitches have disolved after over 6 weeks. Might be time for a special cuddle this weekend. Anyone else had special cuddles yet?
