Morning ladies ... Ella loves lying on one of my arms & leaning on a pillow on my lap at the computer ... except she has been doing massive poohs for a little while. Think she's just about finished so will have to go change her & they are real stinky! LOL. You should see her 'pooh' faces! ....... SHEZI - I had frangipanis too. We used silk ones with real leaves in a miz of the pink ones and the yellow/white ones. They are in a lovely blue frangipani vase in our lounge room now - which is covered in frangipani ornaments! LOL. Everyone always gets me frangipani stuff - I'm obsessed :) Anyway, I had that bouquet, the girls had a small bouquet of white frangipanis, DH had 1 white/yellow & 1 pink on the real leaves for buttonhole & boys had the white/yellow frangipani (just one) on the leaves for theirs. It looked fantastic. I can email you some pics if you like? Just let me know your email address .................. Antibiotics is making a huge difference. Feeling heaps better. My insides have been feeling sorer last couple of days though, mainly on my right side where my appendix was removed last yr. Prob everything finding it's way back into place ............ Does anyone know after a c/s how long you should wait to have 'Special Cuddles'?? ................. Well I am still expressing but my supply seems to have reduced a lot :( Not happy Jan. Hoping after course of antibiotics I can breastfeed again. Atm the alternating thing is great. Ella's having 2-3 bottles of formula and then breastmilk at night time. Last 2 nights Ella has been better & more settled as well. She wakes at exactly 5.30 for her bath even if only gone down recently, has a feed, goes down, feeds at 10pm ish then last 2 nights has gone straight back down until 2 - 2.30pm then about 5.30-6.30am! Except she has a little trouble sleeping after 3am so have to lie in bed with her on my tummy tli she goes to sleep. She thinks it's play time then! LOL. Feeling heaps better anyhoo. .............. AD WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN LATELY? Hope you & Antonio are good ....... GIN - Hope you are doing well .............. ANNSAM - Have a nice day 2 yourself .............. TAZZY - They have even closed Gold Coast beaches now & schools too! Scary!!! Hope you are ok up there! ........................... M2B - Ella is doing more wee's now & less poohs but not really constipated now either :) ..................... ELMO - Amity sounds so cheeky! LOL. I had those pains too weird hey....................... EMMA - How's Cooper? ................. I know I've forgotten ppl - SORRY! Still have mushy brains! Have a gr8 day - have to change Miss Ella ('Pooh Shooter') here!

Lana, the pain you describe is exactly what I get on my "bad" side. But I don't get it every feed, which is odd. I get it at a lot of feeds though, sometimes worse than others. (annsam, I don't think mine are let down pains because I only get it in one breast and not all the time. Also, it doesn't just last a little while, it often goes for the full feed, or can start in the middle of a feed and go until he stops feeding.)

Hey, good thing Amity's still in a size 2, I think most one-piece suits only go up that big! Hopefully by the time she grows out of them, she'll have outgrown pulling her nappy off too!

Re those pains, just read in teh info I got on breastfeeding from the hospital, it says if its a knife sharp pain during a feed its usually let-down. If it happens after or doesn't correspond with a feed be careful as its often first signs of a blocked duct........ which I think I had the other day until I massaged it out in a hot shower. Ouchy.

damn it damn it damn it didnt get the loan. see what happens when men are idiots when they're young!! stupid credit ratings stick.. considering GE. silly as its a huge interest rate but im still assuming it'd be cheaper long term. plus i make sure to direct debit and pay way over so we get infront. i hate bills! thankgod we dont have credit cards.. i'd be chopping them up lol.

Been very busy and now my mother has gone!! HOORAY!
She's like a 4 year old child.. felt very stressed having her here.

Now need to catch up on lots of work.

Has anyone had their first smile from their babies yet? Emma or Lana?

Hope all is well with everyone and the babies are being good.

Kaelan is going great.. he has slept for seven hours straight over the last three nights.... let's hope it lasts !! He was just laying on the couch with me and giving me the biggest smiles... so cute.

I don't know how you do it with three youngin's Shezi... you truly ARE a wonder woman.

Ah thanks Anna! They arent the let-down pains that i get (although i do get them to). Very different to the let-down pains. I will keep an eye on it all just in case it is a blocked duct.

MrsM - I get pains the same as you. Not all the time or anything. Very odd.

Has anyone had their first smile from their babies yet? Emma or Lana?

Hehehe YEP!! I forgot to post it the other day. I have had quite a few of them now. Sam has had one lol! He is so beautiful!

LT - I bet u are liking having ur house to urself again etc. You will be able to bring back a bit of normality now!

Shezi - good luck with trying to find a loan place. Have u tried the banks?? Or maybe St George??

Well we just put Amity to bed with an all-in-one on so heres hoping she cant get it off! Otherwise i think im going to give the boys speedos a go. thanks Shezi!

Griffin had a great night last night. He went to bed at his usual time of 10.30pm and slept right through until 3.30am!! And then woke again at 6.30am! I was stoked. I sooo hope he keeps it up lol.

Hiya March Mummies!!! Sorry I haven't been on lately but we had a week down the Gold Coast (it was great as we had family also staying down so lots of babysitters and other kids for RYan to play with) and now DH and I have been fighting flu symptons for a few days (fever, skin hurts, achey all over... basically YUK). I am starting to feel better though so hopefully it is on the way out.

I have only had a quick skim on the posts....

Turns out my milk supply is too ample so I have to express before each feed for a while until it settles and yes she has reflux but its not painful because theres no acid, just uncomfortable so I have to pasively manage it by keeping her upright as much as possible to the point of sleeping her in teh hug-a-bub at night if need be. G

Anna - my thoughts are with you as Matthew also has reflux but the silent type with the burning pain unfortunately. We have him on Losec which nutralises the acid in his stomach so while he still refluxes at least now it doesn't burn him. We also have the head of his cot raised on blocks to give him a sloped bed.

I also have too much milk and have to express some beforehand so he doesn't choke. I have also been advised to squeeze the breast above and below to slow down the milk release from two of the ducts which also seems to help.

Only problem he has now seems to be tummy pains and difficulty in pushing those poos out.... only doing one every few days (which is quite normal for bf bubs) but he seems to have bowel pain quite a lot and will often only settle for an hour at a time.

Hi girls.
Has anyone had their first smile from their babies yet?
:smiliedance: Oh yes - just this afternoon. How exciting it was. We had been thinking for a while that he would be smiling soon as he seemed to do "practice smiles" when he was asleep or ones that looked more like wind related. Anyway - took him out to show the neighbour this arvo and as soon as he saw her he cracked the biggest smile. Oh boy it was soooooo CUTE! :D

Sorry for the long post - will try to get on more often. xxx Sharon.

Hi All

Shezi pointed me here after I finally popped up again on the Due in Post ... was MIA for a while ... Mother In Law, work, 13month old, heat stress!!! ARHHH oh and carrying around the bub who finally arrived on 14 March.

Oscar also can't eat and poop at same time, and all he does I swear is poop ... at least 3 times a day!

And then Hamish had the runs for a week and we thought he might have milk allergy but thats not for certain so he was nappy free bum out for a week cause the little monkey had a raw botty! Could have done without that!

Oscar smiles after feeds ... milk dreams, but I am sure some are just for me.

He's a good bub really eats and sleeps and poos and then has a witching hour (actually more like 4 hours) once a day usually 12-5pmish or 6-10pmish - don't know what to do with him!

MIL just keeps saying well you know whos fault that is ... what have you been eating! NOT HELPFUL given I hardly eat anything and when I do it is healthy.

Hamish never cried think it may have been from being so prem by the time he came home he was so in routine.

I'm still bleeding after 3 weeks and Dr says can go on for 6weeks.

Does anyone have a bub/kiddlywink who has a wheat/yeats or milk allergy? Hamish has started to get a rash on his face that looks like dermatitis, I think it may be realted to too much bread???

LOL hun get used to it:laughing:

LT....:smiliedance: wish mine would disappear too:wizard: hehehehe
Im sure Iris is doing 'real' smiles BUT who knows could be fakeys....doubt it though as they are always when people hand her back to me and she sees my face, her lil eyes light up and she grins hehehehe she Looooves her milk truck hahahahaha

Shanmac.....my son has a milk protein allergy from all the dairy i ate whilst bfing!
We took our son to get allergy tested (at 7mths) at RPA allergy unit they were great and put him on an elimination diet whilst (which was easy as he wasnt eating much solids lol)
Im on the bfing elimination diet now whilst i bf Iris......its working too lol as ive lost another 6kg this week!!!

Toadlet poo's ALL the time!! At least once during a feed and normally has a pooey nappy when he wakes up. Massive effort for him too and cries big time as soon as he's done one.

LT aalivyahs milk spots cleared up a few days ago.. amazing coz she went to bed with her nose covered in them and woke with only a couple then they went too!

no reply from bluegin yet.. must be busy!

A slept from 8.30pm to after 3am! then 3.45am till after 7am! very happy mummy here. and m & d both slept through :smiliedance:

woke with a really sore spot on my boob, not good this is about the same time i had mastitis with the first two so i've been massaging it(ouch!), but i got pretty sick with mastitis so i definately dont want to deal with it with all 3 of them!

im getting pretty annoyed coz A isnt sleeping well through the day but its due to her big sisters waking her.. especially D, so frustrating coz when she's asleep thats when i get to have all my focus on them but D will run off and bang her door open(i cant close it or she just hits bangs it till she wakes anyway!) i just dont know what the answer is. and she's only 17months so i know i cant expect her to not push boundaries.. but i just feel like screaming 'let your sister sleep!!!!!!!!!'

anyway gotta go. will try to get back on later.. seeya!

he looks at her with so much warmth of emotion, its just beautiful and his so gentle with her his mesmerised by her
awww im getting misty hehehehehe

LT....did i neglect to tell you im living with my mum??? we bought an old run down place just before bubs was born and are renovating so not much $ for rent atm so we are living with my mum while we get this house into a liveable condition!

Thankgod dh's a plumber!

Im off to troll BH and then catch a nanna nap!

Afternoon girls,

Co-sleepers if you put baby in bed with you, how do you do it safely? I had leah sleep with me last night because she was very unsettled (wind I think) and I crashed into such a heavy sleep. I have no idea when I moved my arm out from under her head and had no sense of her being there for the most so it was a bit scary to realise that this morning.

Had a good mornign this morning. Invited a friend to come for a walk with me and we took her 2 and my 2 to the park so I felt like Sam got some attention which was good as Ive been feeling like hes being neglected by me lately.

NemosMum.. a least mine mother wasn't staying with me!! I put her up in a hotel near my place and saw her fo a few hours each day.

Some girls mentioned their babies had pimples. are they still there? Toadlet looks like a spotty teenager.

Oh thats a great idea about the hotel. Shame we have a spare room so not really much excuse to put relos up in a hotel. :p ?Wish we could though.

Leahs just started getting pimple things. Not many though.

woke with a really sore spot on my boob, not good this is about the same time i had mastitis with the first two so i've been massaging it(ouch!), but i got pretty sick with mastitis so i definately dont want to deal with it with all 3 of them!

Have a hot shower and massage it out and feed A on that side. Apparently thats how you fix those 'sore' spots. Had to do it myself hte other day and by the morning it was all cleared. Im freaking out about the idea of getting mastitis.

Re the girls waking A, can you baby barrier off the hall way to the bedrooms perhaps? At least Leah is upstairs and we have a gate on teh bottom of the stairs but when Sams up there too it can be an issue indeed.

Nothing much else going on. Going to have a nap soon. Have some stew in teh slow cooker, been out and about so feeling organised today :yelclap: .

Hope you are all having great days. Where is BG and AD?? Cant wait to hear their news.

Afternoon girls,

Co-sleepers if you put baby in bed with you, how do you do it safely? .

I have the cot pushed up against the side of our bed (the side rail is removed....so its just like extending the bed etc)

We use a snuggle bed for Iris and then i can just lean over and give her cuddles throughout the night if shes unsettled

I actually got an extra hours sleep last night as she woke wanting a feed (she was grunting which is her signal lol) but i was too lazy to get up :o so just lent over popped the dummy in and off she went back to sleep for another hour....bliss:angel:

LOOOOVE co sleeping this time round its heaven!

oh and i took O to the park yesterday with friends too and it felt so lovely to get out and sit in the shade and just watch O and his lil friends run mad lol it was really really nice!
MUST get out more often!

Harper is also a poo machine, loves doing sloppy ones on the changemat!!
he also has zits on his forehead and couple on his cheeks.

just walked down the shop with the pram - trying to do more things by myself with H in preparation for dh going back to work.

weighing him today, he is visibly fatter :)

mum back to dubai this morning, she was so sad to say bye to bub...

Co-sleepers if you put baby in bed with you, how do you do it safely?

I'm not co-sleeping but my sister is and she has this great travel snuggle bed that she pops in the bed with them. Its alot smaller than a tetra bed so doesnt take up a huge amount of room. She picked it up from Toys'r'us. If you want to know more I can get the details from her.

Lana - how did Amity go with the all in one suit?

Well R and T are at daycare today so have managed to get four loads of washing done, run to woolies and had coffee with my dad. Its so easy with just the one! I forgot how much you can get achieved with a newborn. C loves the capsule and just sleeps as I pop her in and out of the car love it, love it! She is still sleeping 4-5 hours at a time which is great.

Nemosmum- wow 6 kgs! hopefully little Iris doesnt have the allergies O did.

Shezi - can you block off A's room in some way? We are really lucky as our house is early 1900's so all the door handles are so high the girls cannot reach them so once a door is shut they cant get in. Same with lights most of them in the house are pull switches so they cannot reach any of them.

Has anyone heard from Cathi?

Hey girls!
Just got back from Gold coast. Got a massage while i was there and its was heavenly!!!Back to reality though as it seemed like Rox was awake all night....she had a blocked nose and i didnt have any drops so she just sucked abit then slept a bit then sucked etc....
I have two questions for you girls!!!
Is anyone using a dummy and if so do you think it interferes with feeds? Is two weeks to soon to start using one??

And how do you remeber which side you finished the last feed on??? My boobs arent as engorged now and i can never remeber which side i finished on!!!
Still no word from BG? Hope all is well.

anna and gemma, we've already gated off the kitchen so i'd need another two gates to gate off bubs room as there's two ways to get in there.. and no point putting a gate in her doorway coz D just screams "baybee!" at her door. does the same if her door is shut. thanx for the ideas tho!!

thanx anna for the sore spot advice.. wont be able to have a shower till chris gets home, i always make sure i keep feeding from that side tho.. hurts but mastitis hurts worse! lol.

gemma i know what you mean about only having one.. mum had M & D the other day while i took A and went shopping with my sis.. wow it was amazing.. you get so much done! no whinging, no 'i want this.. NOW' lol. so easy. but i missed them like crazy!!

Hi Girls ... What a day ... JAIMIE - I'm jealous of your massage!!! Oh & with remembering which side maybe just jot down on a notebook? I was doing that until I could only feed from 1 side as well as the time. Only lasted a couple of days & it's all a blur now but I can tell which cry it is when she wants a feed now .......... I think Ella is unwell today. Last night she was up at 12 for a feed & change, 2.45, 5am and finally got her to sleep about 6.30 until 9am - I cancelled on my SIL coming over with E's cousin (nearly 2) as I felt like sh!t & needed sleep. I slept til 9am and E was up again. Haven't gotten a chance to have a sleep during the day (haven't since been home from hospy!) as she has had big runny poohs, spewing, pains & had to change 4 outfits so far ... She scared me this morning as was screaming so much she pretty much lost her 'voice' & then looked at me and held her breath, went red & had her hands in fists & it made me cry :( She hasn't been feeding well - wanting it every couple of hours but barely getting through half a bottle. E also had a rash on her tummy but not sure if just heat rash (I get heat rash & excema in the heat)......................... Worried it's the antibiotics I'm on for mastitis but they're meant ot be safe. WIll give her formula during night instead of EBM. She usually has formula during day & EBM at night. My milk supply seems to have dropped off since I've been on antibiotics too. Was expresing about 5 bottles per day, barely can get 2.5 a day now!..................... Luckily we have her clinic appt tomorrow so nurse can check her out. I know she has def gained weight!!! LOL. She has finally slept from about 1.30 to now ................. SHEZI - That sucks about the loan - I know how it is as DH has a sucky credit rating & owes $2000 to them but one goes away in a couple of months. His mum keeps saying we should buy a new car but we obviously can't get a loan & she says she'd help out but can't afford it then they buy 2 brand new motorbikes, gives his older brother a cheque (who btw lives at his father's after selling his house & Mazda 6 to go o/s & work for a few months, is 30 yrs old & has like $200k in his bank account!!!) and also goes to Germany! We have no loans but I have a Virgin Credit Card (with cr@p all on it atm) but using BB to pay it off and put away ...................It's gonna be so hard til new financial yr as only getting sh!t all in Rent Assistance & FTB part A as I worked for the majority of this fin yr. Oh well most of the time I'll be at home so can't spend! LOL .............. SORRY FOR THE 'ME' POST! .................. Has anyone else got mastitis? What antibiotics are you on & is it affecting bub like Ella?

Bambaloo
03-04-2007, 15:40
JAIMIE - I started E on a dummy at 1 week out of desparation & it is a lifesaver! LOL. She luv's it & it gets E through her pains. She could never work out when to suck her fingers - only sucks them with a nipple / bottle / dummy in her mouth, lol. During the day she can go to sleep with it but at night she falls asleep with her bottle and if she doesn't and I nurse her I try to get her to sleep without her dummy so she doesn't wake when it falls out and cries. DH makes that mistake!!! She likes it when she's getting changed before a feed too. As for Sh!t machines - she was doing them during or straight after feeds & while she was asleep so when I change her before a feed she had them. She is thankfully doing less now since alternating with formula but wee'ing more.

Super quick

How do I remember which side Ive finished on? I have a hair band around my wrist to remind me which side to start on next or sometimes I clip a hairclip to my bra strap.

Thanks for the co-sleeping advice. I'll take a trip to T'r'Us and see waht they have.

Um what else. Oh the dummy, yes introduced at 1 week. Tried to then get rid of it but I have another very sucky baby. Just hate when she spits it out and wants it back constantly. *sigh*. Roll on 6 months when she can find it herself.

Ok, dinner to do.

P.S. congrats Sarah on the weight loss!

Hi girls

Well Jacey only wants to sleep upright this arv so its not fun, but she slept well this morning and while we were out shopping - the day never goes as well when we venture out with her sleeping. I forgot to tell you girls that we got a babylove tandem stroller on sale at target and its great for what we will use it for. It was the first time we used it today and it steered better than I thought it would with the weight in it.

We started her on a dummy within a few days old and it never interfered with BF. I'm like you Carrie and I dont give it to her at night time and always pull it out if she hasnt spat it out before we go to bed.

LT Jacey's whole face is covered and the doc said it should pass in a week or two. It looks really terrible though and I'm starting to wonder if she is alergic to anything so I have just rewashed all of her clothes in Lux flakes just to be sure.

Well we have my husbands parents coming up tomoz so I wont be on for a while - well might be but who knows. We are having a seafood lunch at my mums on good friday and have Jacey's baby naming easter sunday.

Hope everyone has a great Easter.

oh yeah I never remember which side and just feed on which ever, the lactation consultant I saw said it doesnt really matter. So I just feel them and usually can tell anyway. I do try and remember though but the hairband is always a good one.

Dummies.....are a godsend lol I think we gave O a dummy the first night we had him home lol so day three hehehehe he was a very sucky sucky baby and would have fed all the time if id let him!

With Iris i think it was the day she was born :o it didnt interfere with bfing for O and i actually think it helped with Iris
as at first she wouldnt open her mouth wide enough and I was constantly having to pull her off and on the breast. After using the dummy she seemed to open her mouth heaps wider (could have been a coincidence.
I think it really helps when she gets the hiccups or when shes having tummy pains (takes her mind off it and helps her relax)
Also with my son it was great for travelling in the car as eh got bad motion sickness PLUS it helped with his reflux.

That said i will eb getting rid of it before she turns one:fingerscrossed: wish me luck hehehehe

Sxx

ps had my first coke tonight hope bubs is ok:o

Is anyone using a dummy and if so do you think it interferes with feeds? Is two weeks to soon to start using one??

And how do you remeber which side you finished the last feed on???
i swap my bracelet. i also have a liitle notebook where i put like R10 for ten mins on right

Harper is 4 weeks today and has had his dummy for nearly a week. just an hour or two in the evenin when he is grizzly and extra sucky then he spits it out.
he actually feeds far better now, think he has learnt to suck properly!!

he put on 500g this week - chunky monkey :D

Thanks girls I will do the hair band thing i think. Those bands are cute tho Shezi, thanks!!
Dummies- Im glad im not theonly one then!! Jazz has gone back to wanting hers 24 hrs a day...so i think thats why i was a bit uncertain about giving one to Rox. See how we go. Hopefully tonight will be a better night.
Sarah- I had half a glass of wine twice now...naughty me!! I did the same with Jazz, waited till she was asleep after a good feed. They say if your ok to drive your ok to BF. I think one is ok.
Anna- How is Leah going now?? Have things improved???
Carrie- Hope Ella is feeling better soon! Poor thing. :hugs:
Oh and Jazz bit Roxy on the head tonight...She is driving me insane at the moment. She is just being sooo naughty!

Tazzy.. lets hope their zitty faces clear up. I noticed he had some on his back too.. just tiny ones.

Sorry, forgot to say., well done Srah n the weight loss, you've done briliantly.

Is there anyone else not weighing their babies? Is it a must do thing?

I can see he's putting on weight and eating well.

I must be slack.. when and what do we need to take them to the doctors for?

I have had a couple of half glasses of wine (one at a time), and occasionally have a light beer. But in saying that Jacey's last feed is between 6pm and 7.30pm and doesnt wake for a feed until after midnight and usually 2am these days. I just feel like something to relax with on those BAD days!! Havent had one tonight as I wasnt sure Jacey was going to stay asleep as she has been unsettled this arv.

LT I onyly weighed Jacey at 1 month and will do at 2 months at her 8 week check/needles. I ahve my 6 week check next week and my doc will check bubs then too. And Jacey has a few on her back/neck and chest - but nothing like on her face.

Anyway better go and do some ironing and organise our spare room (well the nursery) for my inlaws.

good night

really wanted to add some JD to it but didnt....any bfing mummas having a lil drinkee drink yet?

Sarah - I'm having a half glass of wine at night just like tazzy after the last feed of the night. The bf assoc says if you can drive you can bf and I can definitly drive after a glass of wine LOL!

Jazzy - Chloe has had a dummy since coming home from the hosp. I dont think if affects bf at all and she loves it esp when she has wind at night. Ruby never had one or wanted one but Tilly is addicted! She only has it at night but the other day I found her in the kitchen having climbed the stool on to the bench and was trying to get the dummy from the sink where I had put it earlier!! Its her drug LOL!!!

We sell freshwater pearl elastic bracelets at the shops that so many ladies buy to remember which side to bf. We sell them in three colours and so many women buy all three for different outfits. I always think I should just have a sign calling them bf bracelets!

Lt - you dont have to weigh Monty but he will be at the early childcare center checks. I think the next one for you would be 8 weeks. I used to weigh Ruby when I went there for my mothersgroup. Also they say to take them to the doctor for a 6 week check for their heart check and general well being.

Hi girls. I have read everything but will post later when im not feeding and have two hands.

Gemma - The all in ones are great!! she cant get them off so we have a winner!

Amity started her new day care today. When she saw where we were she couldnt wait to get out of the car! She hung her bag up, put her drink on the shelf and then went and sat herself at the table where they were having morning tea! She gave me a kiss goodbye and that was that! When i went to go get her this arvo she didnt want to come home, she wanted to stay and play!!

Griffin had his 6 week check today at the CHC and he now weighs a whopping 5.12kg and is 54.5cm long!! What a little fatty!!

Oh, and i finally weighed myself today, im back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 65kg!

I had such a busy day today. I got weed on, pood on and vomited on all in one day. Im looking forward to bed tonite!

Really hope BG and AD are ok...

We are also using dummies to help Matt settle. Did for Ryan too and while it is a bit of a pain and the MIL just HATES it thats too bad cause it helps Matthew and thats the main thing.

Took him to the doc this morning as he has a high temp and we think it is the flu that DH and I have been fighting. He is lots better tonight and only a slight temp so hopefully he is on the mend.

He has put on 800g in the last two weeks - doctor was amazed considering he hasn't been well. She even double checked that I was just BF. Well done little Matt .

That said - I don't generally weigh my bubs unless I have a concern or am merely curious. If you are happy they are feeding well, peeing and pooping, and appear to be putting on weight then its really not necessary.

Can anyone help - toddler question....

We are having trouble getting Ryan (3 turning 4 in June) toilet trained at night time. We have been trying putting him to bed in undies and then taking him to the toilet by about 10 or 10:30pm then putting a nappy on for the rest of the night.

While we do get a lot of dry nights this way we are also getting a few nights a week where he wets the bed before we even get to take him to the toilet. And often the nappy is quite wet in the morning.

Funny thing is when he wets the bed he doesn't even wake up. We go in to take him and everything is sopping wet.

He doesn't like wetting the bed and even asked me the other day why he was doing it.

Anyone got any suggestions? Or are we just expecting too much too soon? He has been day toilet trained for nearly a full year - even across day sleeps is okay.

Thanks for any advice.

Oh and Jazz bit Roxy on the head tonight...She is driving me insane at the moment. She is just being sooo naughty!
you're not alone!! you know how toddlers point and tap your nose with their finger and go 'beep beep' well yep D did that to A's eye! not nice! safe to say A is gonna be tough! she didnt even cry!

Is there anyone else not weighing their babies? Is it a must do thing?

:o i havent either.. i used to weigh the girls weekly at my local chemist.. its like a 10min walk but the lady doesnt do it anymore.. A will be weighed at her 6week check next week but i feel terrible coz she'll be 5weeks tomorrow and i dont have her weight jotted down for 1 month.. i'll just have to est! lol. thats terrible!! just the thought of getting all of them in the car every week for a 5minute appt with the health nurse seems crazy!!

Lana thats great about amity with daycare.. i can imagine D being like that lol. i think M will be starting next tuesday.. was going to be this friday but its a public holiday.. anyway she wanted to go today haha. so hopefully she'll enjoy it!
and lana congratulations on your weight loss & griffins gain! hehe.

carrie i think guys just dont think when they're young.. do they not realise credit ratings stick.. was informed today that they stay on your file for 5years AFTER they've been paid in full. and i will add you're lucky its only $2000, i only found out how much dp owes a few months back and its not good.. i dont even wanna say how much coz it gets to me so bad.. and with the rating no-one will give him a loan to consolidate them. not to mention the fact he doesnt want to talk about it or deal with it.. so its me on the phone constantly which right now i dont need but i also dont need to be 23 and in a sh!tload of debt i didnt cause.. so much for my plan to buy our own house in a few years.. anyway this is depressing!! i will shut up lol.

sharon i wouldnt worry about the nighttime wetting.. i read in a baby mag a couple of months ago that anywhere till 6 or 7(not 100% on ages will try to find the article) is actually normal and provided theres no reasons you'd think he had like an infection or anything then dont worry.. i was a bit worried too coz M is nearly 3&1/2 and her best bud who is the same age has been dry through the night for over 6months but M still wears nappies to bed(same as Ryan as she is dry through day sleeps) there was one night where we forgot to put a nappy on her and her bed was soaked and she slept through it all as well.
does he mind wearing nappies to bed? if not i'd just go with it.. i know M's best bud just kept waking with dry nappies and they went from there..
and congratulations on Matts weight gain! i wrote matty then haha. thats what i call my brothers best mate who is matt also.. he hates it but oddly prefers it to matthew coz 'only his parents call him that' lol. i love the name Matthew! gorgeous!

Evening mummies

How have you all been?

Cooper and I are good. just been catching up on sleep while Cooper's asleep during the day. He still isn't sleeping through the night.

Shezi I think I read somewhere you planning on getting married? Congratulations hun

I've noticed we haven't heard from BlueGin, so hope she's okay...has anyone heard from Frangi?

Has anyone had their first smile from their babies yet? Emma or Lana?
Yes cooper did two smiles today :smiliedance:

Is anyone using a dummy
No I was going to and bought a few, but Cooper just spits them out.

Griffin had his 6 week check today at the CHC and he now weighs a whopping 5.12kg and is 54.5cm long!! What a little fatty!
I weight Cooper on monday and he weight 5.98kgs  . While I was waiting to get him weighed at the baby shop, there was this couple weighting their baby and they took forever and they new I was waiting. They messed about and finally took put the baby in the capsule but were still in the way so I couldn't get to the scales. So I said excuse me and they didn't bother to move so I had to squeeze passed them and the woman said under her breathe (as DH saw her) F**king B*tch. She was lucky i didn't her her as I was so annoyed with them. :banghead:

Anyway hope you all try have have a good sleep tonight.

Emma - How rude of that lady! People like that really annoy me! What a great weight gain for Cooper!! Griffin is the same with dummies, i have tried to give him one so that he can use that to suck on when he has tummy pains but he just spits it out too. He prefers either my boob or my little finger.

Sharon - I wouldnt be too concerned about the bed-wetting just yet. I froget the exact stats, but quite a few kids wet the bed. There seems to be a genetic thing in my family where people wet the bed later into their childhood. My dad did, my aunty did, I did, my cousin did and my nephew still does (he is nearly 5). It went away on its own for everyone, just takes a bit longer for some thats all. If you are concerned though you can always go see ur doc, sometimes they can suggest ways of helping and if it goes on for too long their are alarms and that you can get to try and help.

really wanted to add some JD to it but didnt....any bfing mummas having a lil drinkee drink yet?

Tried a dummy the other night - She had 16 of Marks relatives sticking their faces in hers so she just lost it but she kept spitting it out so I have left it lol

Drinkies - YES! lol But I have enough mil to feed a small country so I express around 450 Mills per day after feeding  ( 150 mil after each feed during the day - so I have heaps left over to feed her and express and throw out if I have a drink - did it the other night and tonight after seeing the girls and she is fine - she is a little piggy (like her mummy) so I guess she doesnt care if its boob or bottle lol

Anyway better go and do some ironing and organise our spare room (well the nursery) for my inlaws.

OMG! You are good - Inlaws and everything :hugs: Can I award you a medal? My DH wishes I was more like you he he

Ahhhh thats excellent! It must feel fantastic knowing she is happy where she is.

Anais has already put on her birth weight plus a whole lot more lol - must be the over eating - is that bad? I was told that they should eat 40 mills per feed but when I bottle feed her ( long story but one boob doesnt work too well lol ) she has 150 mills...Is this too much?

I now weigh less that I did pre pregnancy -now down to 54 kilos yay! Boobs are still huge though so very happy with that he he

LOOOOVE co sleeping this time round its heaven!

I must admit - I was the one who was like.... I wont share my bed with my bubs blah blah blah - but I actually love it (forgetting the fact that I dont sleep for fear of hurting her ) but she sleeps better in her own cot:thumbsdown: so I have had to go with what she wants lol

PS - Proud to say that she is the fart queen - takes after mummy on this one as well - every time she wakes she strtches and farts her angel bum off he he - very funny for me anyways

Caithi - :hugs: The feelings should pass hun BUT if they dont, please go see ur GP or Child health nurse and tell them how you are feeling. They should at some stage ask you to complete a thing called the "Edinburg (sp) Test". It is a test they conduct to check if you are suffering from Post Natal Depression/Depression. While nearly all mothers get the 'Baby Blues' it usually goes away after a few days. If the low feelings and crying continues it could be signs of PND. Always best to catch it early. There is heaps of help out there for it. (hope i havent offended you at all by suggesting that)

Sharon - Just saw an add for the following in Perth Child Newspaper, thought you might appreciate it;
www.SlumberDry.com.au it is a super absorbent overlay that is placed over the bottom sheet. If your child has an accident during the night it draws the liquid away from the top layer to the waterproof layer where it is trapped, leaving the sheets and mattress dry. Says its great for toilet training.

Ok, im off to bed now.

Caithi... Monty is perfect too with his behaviour, so when I feel down and get frustrated with him I get very angry at myself later.

I've finally worked out thanks to my Dr.Daddy why Monty is screaming like a girl when he poo's himself.

Some babies get a fissure which is a tiny split in the anal skin which is painful when they poo. Vasaline or anusol ointment on the ring can south it.

So I shoved (gently) some vaseline up his delicate little bottie and the next time he didn't scream!. Might get anusol though cause he was still upset the last poop session.
Now I feel bad that DP and I kept laughng at him when ever he cried after a poo!!! Poor Monty having parents like us.

Tazzy... babies pimples are normal too. "Acne neonatorum (http://www.dermadoctor.com/pages/newsletter39.asp)" They go too.

How's the wedding planning going Shezi?

Hi girls,

Sorry too much to read and I have the worst headache and a head cold. :crying: Coping though. After having Sam I had my very first flu and was useless for days so Im glad this is just a cold. I guess the immunity all wears off after having the baby huh?

Well, Ive ditched the dummy.... hopefully for good. Leah decided she just couldnt' sleep without a dummy in her mouth and has had no more than 15 minutes off and on all morning so for a couple of days of pain, her improved sleep will hopefully be worth it. Note to self - when one has a headache it is not the best day to ditch the dummy:o . Plus I was popping it back in her mouth every 30 minutes or so from 2am so my improved sleep will hopefully pay off too.

All in all though things are going pretty well. Sams still rebellious but Im managing that better and hes starting to realise what the score is. Hes also showing Leah a bit more attention in that he kisses her head goodnight and we came with me to get her out of bed this morning. hes never shown interest till now.

Going for a nanna nap now. Will try and catch up on teh goss later.

Edited to add: LT, Sam has fisures on his butt too as baby too. Poor poppets. Not ncie for them at all.

And re drinkies who ever asked about that. I have had a glass of bucks fizz (my fav) on the odd evening. I wait till after feeding Leah then by time its time for her next feed the whole half a glass of bubbles is out of my system.

OK, I haven't yet caught up on all the posts, but I had to post now before I forget what it was I wanted to say!! :o

Dummies - We tried to give Claire one the first night we came home from the hospital. She wouldn't take it & despite several efforts in the months that followed, she just wasn't interested - is now a dedicated thumb-sucker! I've tried to give Owen a dummy a few times now with mixed success, but he honestly doesn't seem very interested. I've been trying to give him one because he's been going through a stage where he's awake from about 5pm - midnight & just wants to feed the whole time. He's not hungry, he's just windy and the sucking comforts him. But if I feed him, it only makes the wind worse! He's taken it a few times, but not really showing a lot of interest in it.

I was told that you should try to get BF established before you introduce one if you can, but other than that, I don't think any age is too early.

Which side? I can usually remember because I have one side that is quite painful to feed from, so I don't have much problem remembering if I used that side first last time or not. You can however, get breast pads with markers on them (alternatively, you could always just put a mark on them yourself) and you have the mark up the top on the side you need to feed first from. Does that make sense?

Weighing bub - Owen's only been weighed 3 times. Once when he was born, the next time was the day we were discharged from the hospital (had only lost 200g!!) and the third was three days later at his one week check up (and he'd gained a whopping 500g between the Friday & the Monday!!!) I'll be taking him to the GP again at 4 weeks (so next Monday-ish) and have him weighed again. With Claire though, she got weighed when she was born, and then didn't get weighed again until I took her for a check up at 6 weeks!

Drinkies - I miss my wine! When I was PG with Claire I'd have a glass here & there, but this time I pretty much steered well clear. I think I may only have had a sip or two the entire pregnancy. Since I've had him though, I've enjoyed two glasses of wine (on separate occasions). Funny thing was those were the two nights he slept the best!! :detective:

Baby Acne - Owen has a few spots too, although not as badly as Claire had it - she could definitely have joined the proActive infomercial!! lol

Caithi, I agree with Lana. While it may well be nothing to worry about, best to talk to someone. Even the act of talking aloud to someone might hlep lift that weight off your shoulders. It can be so overwhelming when you get your new bub home, the last thing you want ot be worried about is whether what you are feeling is normal or not. (Love the piccies, BTW!!)

Oh hey S!! We went to story time at the library today too! It's normally a weekly thing we do - Claire jsut LOVES it, but of course we haven't been able to go for a few weeks. DH was able to come along today, so I took the opportunity & we went along. I'm not supposed to drive for another 3 weeks, so getting out of the house is tricky. I try to get out as much as I can when I have DH at my disposal, because I can see Claire is getting bored.

OK, off to catch up on the rest of the posts!!

Can anyone help - toddler question....

We are having trouble getting Ryan (3 turning 4 in June) toilet trained at night time. Thanks for any advice.

This is exactly the same for us. Ruby has been toilet trained since she was two for all day including day sleeps. But she just cant seem to get the night through. She is the same sleeps through wetting the bed and then gets upset when she realises what has happened. We now just make sure she goes before bed and then as soon as she wakes we remind her again to go to the toilet. We end up with a dry nappy every fourth night but not often enough for me not to put her in one. If you come up with the solution I am all ears!!

Sorry I have not been on - crying has been my main activity lately didnt want to bring the whole room down lol

Cathi as the other girls have said please take care of yourself and talk to the mothercare nurse. I am only at Mosman so if you want to catch up for coffee pm me.

Iris is unsettled today too....its time for her 4 day pooey! wish me luck hehehe

I have a friend in mg whose son only pooed every 7 days!! She used to stay at home on that day and wait for it to arrive !! He used to fill up to three nappies at a time !!! How do you go with Iris doing only every 4 days!! Chloe is a poo machine every single nappy is full of poo I cannot wait until she started to go to once a day at least!

We have had a great day. I have cleaned the house and wrapped all the eggs for the Easter Bunny. My inlaws are taking Ruby to the Easter Show tomorrow which she is so excited about and at 1pm I am picking up my Grandmother, Aunt, two cousin plus ones boyfriend from the airport. They are here until Tue so easter should be great. Chloe is still doing only one feed through the night so am feeling great. In fact am thinking about heading into work next week since she sleeps so well she can come with me.

 Girls..Sorry haven't been on in a while... i have been feeling down of late and frustrated etc but dont know if it's lack of sleep, adjusting to a new life, baby blues or possibly PnD... i have good days too, and i love my little man to bits, but for example i get 'annoyed' when he cries for a feed at 3am.. other times of day im fine its just the night feed. Then i feel bad for getting 'annoyed' as it's not his fault he is hungry.. i feel like such a bad mum sometimes. I saw the MCHN yesterday and porky has put on 750g since his last weigh in, so now weighs 4.3 kilos! He has grown 5 cm in length too, so still a short *** at the moment, im sure he will have a growth spurt when he is 18.. he takes after his dad so should be around 6ft LOL!

Breastfeeding failed, so he is now bottle fed :o, i tried my hardest but it just wasn't working for both us, i was frustrated he was always wanting more, and he seems to thriving on formula, but i still feel like a bit of a let down.

I sooo can't wait until he drops a night feed, when does this usually happen? Im so tired, Dp helps a little but not as much as he used to since im feeling better after C/s. So its all me feeding, changing, cleaning house etc etc , and i know thats what us mums are meant to do, but i guess im just over whelmed at the moment. God i must sound like a *****. Im sure i will get used to it soon and wonder why i was complaining.

Congratulations BlueGin on the safe arrival of your little boy :smiliedance:.

Congratz Shezi too on getting married .

Antonio will be 1 month old on Sunday... gee its flying!

Must go, Dinner to cook. Hope everyone is well and i will try and get on more. Hats off to all of you who have more than one child... i dunno how you do it LOL. Super Mums!!!

Good evening fellow March Mummies!!!

Yay! I have a sweet little boy of my own now, and he is just perfect!

Sorry I've been AWOL, I had an emergency c-section last Wednesday, and we decided I couldn't really be at home with DH back at work. So we have moved in with my parents for a bit. I will have the net, just haven't had it when I've been free till today!

Looking forward to sharing all the bits and pieces ahead with you all

Welcome back BG and AD! So nice to see you both again.

AD :hugs: , it does get easier. Are you getting out and getting some fresh air? Im finding that makes a huge difference as I didn't do it much last time and got very down. Also, if you have a slow cooker - use it. Its a godsend for those 'witching hours' whcih will soon pass btw. You just got to do day-to-day what you can to get you through that day. Worry about tomorrow when it ocmes. As for the being annoyed at being woken, yeah I get like that a bit too. its only natural when you're sleep deprived to be peeved at the source of it.

Caithi :hugs: , Might pay to talk to someone. Baby blues and feeling down are normal especially for the first baby where everything is so very new but if you feel its more than that, go see your Dr and get a referal to a councillor.

BG, so baby really didn't want to come out huh? :p Cant wait to hear about your birth. Good move moving in with your parents while you need the help.

Sydney mums, anyone fancy a get together?

Leah has been very unsettled this afternoon. We had a nice nap together today but shes missing her dummy :( . Feel so cruel taking it off her but in the long run it will benefit her as her sleep will improve. It was the same with her brother only we left it till 10 weeks to make that change but never looked back once we had. Makes me stop being a lazy mummy too as now I have to spend time getting her to sleep rather than shovign a plug in her mouth. Anyway, shes now fast asleep in her hug-a-bub. I LOVE this contraption.

Anyway, best go spend family time. Got my ECHC appt at the hosptial tomorrow (they have a clinic which I opted for as I dont like out ECHC in Castle Hill). Then going to the chiro to see if he can do anything about my headache.

Have a good night girls. Wishing you all sleep xx

Ok have to make this super quick as amity is in her high chair and whinging.

BG - He is adorable!! (havent read ur birth story yet, but i will tonite!)

Well what an interesting afternoon i have had. We got home from group at 12.30 and i put Amity to bed just before 1 for her sleep. Fed Griffin and sat down for an hour before my MIL came over for a visit (she is going to France for 3 weeks). We were sitting there chatting when i heard a noise from Amitys room and decided to go see what she was up to. I opened the door and the smell of poo was overwhelming! She had taken her nappy off AGAIN, pulled the poo out of the nappy and smeared it all over her walls, her bed, her bed rail, the door and she had stomped it into the carpet! It took me over an hour to clean it all up. MIL had to give her TWO baths to clean her properly as she was covered in it.

Needless to say she got through the clips on the all-in-one so im back to square one again. What a sh!t bloody day! Oh, and i still need to vacuum the floor and then go get some carpet shampoo!

Bluegin he's adorable!!!

Well done on the birth.

Aquadevil.. don't get too frustrated at yourself. get lots of snoozes in and you'll feel better.

When you get cross at your little boy, next feed give him lots of kisses. Or have a giggle at his silly faces.

Toadlet was 4 weeks yesterday and I still have tragic days.

Lucky toadlet got a squirt of anusol up his little bottie this evening... lets hope it helps.

Had a fantastiic climb tonight, enhanced by "Amp" a natural pick me up. LOVE IT!! Gives you so much energy and a great buzz without feeling wired. Made from Dandelions. Helped a lot on the days I was extremely tired.
Couldn't work out why it wasnt working for me though until day three I realised I was taking DP's body building tablets... didn't feel any better but DID grow a penis!

Cheer up sad mummies.!!!

Hi all!

Wow who would have thought that such little person could consume so much of your time!

I am glad to finally join in on this thread! I have thought about you all over the last 10 days and hope you are all doing well. I will eventualy go back and catch up on the 20 pages since I've been gone.
My DH is on holidays as of today for 2 weeks so I will now be getting the extra help I need with Callum....it is hard doing it on your own.

Callum is doing well although we have had a few issues with him not putting on enough weight, he lost over 10% of his birth weight in hospital and has now only to 3.32kg's...so we have to keep an eye on him.

It looks like I have to get a breast pump to express after each feed to top him up ...has anyone tried the avent electric breast pump?

I am doing well ...just exhausted like the rest of you I'm sure!! But loving being a mum and of course I think Callum is absolutely beautiful (will post pics soon)

Take Care
Sal

Hi Girls!...... WELCOME BACK AD, BG & FRANGI!!! ........... BG - your pics are GORGEOUS! I am going to read your birth story after this ............. AD & CAITHI - I was feeling the EXACT same way & DH was worried about me having PND as well. The start of it was when DH was going back to work & I didn't know that I could manage on my own. Well we did & developed our own routines - early morning feed around 5am, back to sleep, after next feed E is awake for a couple of hours & plays in her bouncer while I express, have a shower, sterilise bottles etc, another feed, sleep, etc ... I can't believe how alert Ella is now! She focuses on things & you can see she is already trying to smile ... She even ROLLED onto her side at 2 weeks! Proud mummy here ... She nearly cracks a smile when we say "Coon" (she does Coon faces like that new ad ...) ................ ANYWAY, the BLUES - I felt a lot better once I bought formula to alternate feeds cos I was in so much pain breastfeeding, dreading the next feed then I had to express bottles as well & it was all I was doing. I was so upset. THEN I got Mastitis! Heaps better now ......... Tues night had like 2 hours sleep all up as Miss Ella decided she wanted to stay awake from about 10.30pm to 2am!!! Not her fault but she gets bad pains & some nights just wants her mum! I don't understand as that night I was giving her formula to see if it'd get her to sleep longer as she does during day time but she wouldn't settle & kept having wind pains. I REALLY don't get it ............. Off to see Lactation Consultant at 5pm tonight who sounds lovely so hopefully that sorts something out. Atm I am expressing just enough bottles for night time & formula during daytime ............ DOES ANTIBIOTICS DECREASE YOUR MILK SUPPLY? Does anyone know? Mine seems to have decreased since taking them ........... WEIGHT GAIN/LOSS - I have lost all baby weight I think! Yay! Prob due to running around like a madwoman all day, no sleep & eating once or twice a day (only def meal is dinner which DH makes). My goal weight is about 14kg less than what I was though ...... Hopefully it keeps decreasing at this rate! ELLA has def gained weight - she's so heavy & longer too! She even looks older at 3 weeks today! Was meant to have clinic appt yesterday but nurse called up sick & cancelled. Mum came an hour to our place to take us too! Going next week instead. We went to the shops & it was gr8 to get out & feel normal again! Got DH's Easter eggs, niece's b'day present (she's 2 & it's a cool doll cradle), had Chinese for lunch & a Boost Juice and other bits & pieces .... It felt gr8 to put make-up on! LOL. SORRY FOR THE ME POST!!! ................ Hope everyone is doing okay :)

Sal, I haven't got the Avent electric, just the Isis handheld and I think it's a great pump - the electric should be even better! I'm sure he is going to start putting on heaps of weight very soon. Congrats on baby Callum!! Love the name!! Can't wait to see some pics!

Speaking of pics - love the ones you posted BG!! What a gorgeous bubba!!! Well done! As for the hugabub, I have had a c/s & use my baby bjorn & also the sling for Owen so I'm sure the hugabub will be fine to use.

And Emma, your av pic is beautiful!!

S, I hope Iris is feeling better soon - poor little girl! Owen has some massive wind issues as well. I'll be talking to the Dr about it when I take him for his 4-week check-up next week.

I also have to book Claire in for her 18m needles. :crying: I am sure I hate it more than she does! I'm not looking forward to taking Owen for his. That's the bad thing about little bubs - having to take them for needles every couple of months. Breaks your heart!!

So been doing some serious cleaning today.. just sat down now LOL!

Next im off to get some Easter Eggs, haven't even brought 1 yet, might get Antonio a little something too, even tho he wont know what it is or for what LOL.

Antonio and i had long cuddles before too, very sweet, i sooo love being a mummy. Despite my moody times LOL. YAY FOR SLEEP!

Got my box of British goodies today from Simply British... oh so naughty but oh so nice... so that also put a smile on my face, as they came before Easter. :yelclap:

Hi girls! What a day so far!

Sarah - poor little Iris! I hope her wind disappears for her (and you) soon! I am seriously addicted to coke but am trying to cut it out of my diet completely as im fairly certain that is why Griffin has such bad wind pains.

Welcome back Frangi!! Cant wait to see some pics of Callum! (i went to school with a Callum and what a spunk he was!)

MrsM - I agree, needles arent much fun are they!? Griffin gets his first lot in just over 1 week :(

We just got back from meeting up with another little girl and her mum at the park. Amity loved playing on the slides etc and in the sand! Oh, and she found a puddle near the water fountain and proceeded to get extremely wet and dirty! She had fun though!

Mmmmm.... coke!! Love it! I have been drinking caffeine-free diet coke, but it makes no difference to Owen's wind if I have it or not, so I'm guessing it's not that. So I figure I may as well keep drinking it! :o

I also cracked open a really great bottle of red last night & had a small glass of it. It was heavenly!!!! (:detective: Owen slept like a dream last night - maybe I should have a glass every night!!!)

hey everyone

Welcome bk Frangi

hope all the bubs with the wind pains easy up soon

thanks everyone on the comments of my avvie.

The other day I received in the mail from ebay (that I bought) the whole season of Friends. I never liked it when it was on TV and I have just recently been watching it on Foxtel. Except on foxtel they will skip shows and it is all over the place or they will repeat them :banghead: So anyway I have 10 seasons to watch and I'm half way through season 3 which isn't bad since Monday lol. I'm addicted

Tonight I went night time shopping and Cooper was grizzly and just wouldn't settle. I was in Target and bought one of those baby bjorn thingys but in a different brand. I got out of the shop and since my back was sore from trying to carry him I thought I would give the carrier a whirl. No sooner had I put him in it he fell straight asleep. Hope is wasn't just a coincidence lol. Also had to buy all my easter eggs...gawd they are expensive, too bad I can't just give everyone a block of chocolate each LOL.

Anyway I better go to bed my 'Friends' are awaiting hehe

Gee you gals are quiet tonight...

I just got back from the best shopping trip! Sam insisted that i treat myself to some new clothes, he wouldnt take no for an answer lol! And we also bought a Nintendo Wii!

I put Griffin in his carrier and Amity went in the trolley. She was surprisingly good considering I had put her to bed and Sam got her up to go to the shops (desperately needed food shopping lol).

Amity took her nappy off again today. Thankfully though she only peed this time, even if she did do it on her bed and floor! :banghead: I have started the toilet training again now too. I figure she is obviously taking it off because she doesnt like being wet/dirty so she can learn to use the big toilet! She sat on it today for a while but didnt do anything other than wiping herself and flushing it.

Lana, Sam sounds like a dream, hope you found lots of clothes you wanted. Amity sure does sound like she is ready to start the training, :fingerscrossed: it is a short process!

Well Kes is sleeping in his cloth bassinet thingy for the first time today, I think he has wind as he needs to be held to not cry the whole time, and desperately sucks like he is hungry but isn't!

Tried out the hug a bub today, and though a bit tricky at first, it was awesome! He even slept in it  :D

Sore scar today, stinging badly, hope it's OK!

Not looking forward to needle time... eek!

Ok, me thinks this may be more than the baby blue...

I havent felt angry towards her or anything like that -more pathetic towards me....

Actually thought it may be better for him and her if I wasnt here today...

Apart from my tummy, and bad skin and boobs that currently look like udders... Im sure that he hates me for crying so much so I have just stopped crying all of the time...

I keep having dreams that I lose her or someone takes her and he blames me....

Marks dad wishes she was a he ( actually told me this on more than one occasion ) and now I am also worried that Mark thinks this too...

She is perfect and all I can think of is me or that I am screwing her life up if she cries - I feel like a fu#%ing idiot and that I have no idea what I am doing.....

I really dont have any idea, I mean when do solids start, when should i expect milestones etc etc why isnt a book or list given to us when we leave hospital. I have no idea.

I AM IN FOR A MEET UP IF ANYONE ELSE IS..... I prom not to be neg or emotional, just would be nice to catch up....

Caithi

Hope you start to feel better soon. The girls here have given great advice. I think it would be a great idea for you and LT to catch up - a good support network is what we all need, especially if you are feeling low.

Caithi those pics of Anais are absolutely gorgeous!
:hugs: babe! I think you should go see ur doctor and tell him/her how you are feeling. It definitely sounds like more than just the baby blues to me. You would be amazed at how much help there is out there for it.

With regards to solids etc you can get little pamphlets from your Child Health Nurse that cover babies different age groups and tell you when to expect different milestones, when to start solids etc. They have a 0-3months, 3-6 months, 6-9months and 9-12 months etc. Generally, you can start solids from around 4 months, just play it by ear as all babies are different.

Remember that you are still learning about motherhood and what to expect just as Mark is with fatherhood and Anais is with life in general. Hell, IM still learning lots of things too and its my second time around! Im sure Mark is worried about you and will be there for you when you need him. :hugs:

Caithi, I think we all felt a bit drowned as first time mothers hun :hugs: . As in, what happens when and what should I be looking out for in milestones. Its very normal and natural. The feelings and thoughts you are having though may need some extra support so perhaps it would pay to visit your GP or ECHC nurse for a referal. Dont feel like a failure - hormones, sleep deprevation and an first time baby are natures joke thats played on women. Vent here though. Thats what we are all here for.

BG, yeah the hug-a-bub takes a couple of goes to get used to but leah loves it. She also doesn't like lying down and settles beautifully in mummys arms or chest. Shes also cries if not held. She doesn't have wind though, just likes to be held. But she does overfill herself and reflux a bit which isn't nice for her.

Lana, Sam sounds like a dream. I would love for DH to insist I buy new clothes. Aint going to happen this lifetime though.

Ok, not much else to report. Off for a nanna nap with leah. have a good day girls.

Where / When suites the sydney girls to meet up?

Hi Girls,

Thanks for all the welcome backs!

Caithi - big hugs hun! Don't worry you are not alone. This parenting thing is like nothing on earth and nobody can prepare you for it...your whole world gets turned upside down and inside out plus with such little sleep you start to get really crazy and emotional.
Please remember you are not alone! We are all here for you and experiencing the same thing.

Have you joined a community centre or a playgroup yet? I am going to my first meeting on Tuesday and although I am very nervous (feels like first day at a new job!) I am going so that I can meet other mums who are experiencing all the same things as me. Plus BUBHUB rules and we are all here for you anytime!
I am sure Mark is headover heals in love with his baby girl and you should tell his dad to F)*K Off (pardon the language) as you have been blessed with a very beautiful, healthy, perfect baby who will bring you such joy and happiness no mater what sex it is. (I know she's beautiful because I saw the pics!)

My middie told me to get the Robin Baker book Baby Love as it is filled with heaps of info on baby.
Also remember that you can call tresillian or karitane anytime and they will answer your questions. Even if its just for a chat to remain sane if Anais is acting up and wont stop crying. My sister said she had them on speed dial and called them almost everyday for advice...I never knew this until now as she always made out that she was coping beautifully on her own....we all need help!
Thinking of you love...how about going to the sydney meet up? If I am in a better routine with Callum I might go along too.

Carrie- from what I have been told when you start complimenting feeds with fomula you have to watch that you keep your milk supply stimulated or it can drop off. I am using nipple shields as Callum wont feed without it (I have huge boobies that he drowns in and can't find the nipple - which is flat anyway) With the nipple shields I have been warned that your milk supply will eventually drop off so that is why I am going to get the electric breast pump. Last night though we ended up giving him 50mls of formula as he just wouldn't settle and he dropped straight off to sleep after that.

BG- I still haven't seen your pics or read your birth story but congrats on your baby boy (I feel terrible as I don't even know his name yet) but I will be reading it hopefully today or tomorrow an will gush accordingly then as I know he will be gorgeous!! Need to learn photobucket too so I can post pics but there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day!

Plus I have work to do! LT how are you coping with your work load and bubs??? I am falling way behind and must do some serious catching up over the weekend. It does add a whole heap of extra pressure doesn't it!! I feel that I should be working but am so tired that I need sleep and then I feel like a bad mum because I'm working when I should be cuddling my new baby boy....ohhh the joys of a family business!

Better fly girls - hope your all well!

caithi i hope you're feeling better soon, we're here for you, 24/7! you're bound to catch one of us. you're doing an amazing job with anais. just reading your posts i know you're an amazing mummy and can see how much you care about your daughter! just please dont ever ever ever think your man & anais would be better off without you. you're beautiful inside & out and mean the world to both of them. it will get better. i promise.:hugs: :hugs:

anna that is a great sleep!! for some reason i feel more tired when the girls do sleep through.. not sure why. must shock my brain of something lol. i think thats why im not overly tired anymore.. i was up 5 times last night between the 3 of them!
cant wait to see the pics of sam & leah.

lana guess what.. danielah ripped off her pjs & nappy last night! i couldnt believe it! she's only 17months! way too young to be doing that. she was yelling 'mummy' so i went in and coz it was dark picked up what i thought was her teddy.. and yep it was her nappy!! she'd thrown it over the cot.. thankfully she hadnt wee'd or pooped in her cot tho! so she slept in a nappy & her bather bottoms! haha too tight for her to rip off!

does sound like a great shopping trip! i went yesterday with just A for half an hour looking for some tops.. went to jayjays cotton on & jeans west and there was nothing.. i was pretty peeved.. i really wanted like a baby doll style top.. i have a few but they dont have the tie ups on the shoulders and my girls love ripping them off me! but i think i must be a few years behind in fashion coz i couldnt find them anywhere & coz i still have weight to lose i dont want to buy more jeans.. very frustrating!

frangi & LT are your bubs behaving while yous work? i wont be working till my youngest is at school much to chris's horror

So much to catch up on!!! Hope i dont miss too many people here.
Caithi- Anais is absolutely gorgeous!! Those pictures are amazing! I think the girls before me have said it all really..please dont be so hard on your self. You are doing an awesome job and who gives a **** what your FIL thinks?? What an idiot...Oh and guess what? Im sure everyone of us here feel the same about our bodies right now, just give it time and things do go back to where they used to be!!( or close to it!):hugs: Really hope things start getting better for you soon.
I had a bit of an 'episode' last night..Dh wasnt home till late and the evening just seemed so endless and i found myself laying on the lounge room floor with the two girls and we were all crying. I felt like the worst mother ever.

****And can someone tell me why Roxy keeps snack feeding and then waking after an hour and a half at night??? Its driving me nuts! And she vomits when i try to give her the dummy...HELP!
Anna- You lucky thig! Thats awesome, i hope she does a repeat performance for you every night!
Lana- Glad it wasnt poo this time! And thats great that you got to go clothes shopping, you get so sick of wearing the same clothes you wore during pregnancy huh?
better run. roxy is screaming! will pop in later and add some more.

 sorry i shouldnt laugh!! Sam and i have decided we are going to give masking tape a go... just go around the nappy a couple of times to cover the grip tabs. That way i can rip it off but she cant, well, thats the plan anyway!

Shezi have you tried Just Jeans?? I swear i saw some tops sort of like that in the window... purple ones...

Jaimie - sorry cant help with the dummy... maybe its going too far into her mouth and causing the gagging reflex??

Frangi I cant believe you are doing work again already too!! I am really lucky in the fact that we are in a position where i dont need to work. Makes things a lot easier.

Aw Jaimie, thats horrid! Dont be hard on yourself. Two is very overwhelming especially by yourself at night. :hugs:

With the feeding thing, do you have over-supply? Is it gushing out and is she gulping lots to keep up? Thats my issue and I had this very same problem so can tell you how to fix that. She was getting too much foremilk which digests super quick. The ECHN/LC did tell me the other day that breastmilk digests in 90 minutes too so for a little baby to expect feeding after 90 minutes isn't unrealistic.

Leah as a cold! Shes gotten really congested this afternoon. Its awful as I know how bad my sinus' felt the last few days so hearing her struggle with her little ones is the pits. :crying: I thought breastfed babies were supposed to have good immunity!

Afternoon all!
Caithi, love the photos, I think she and Kes actually look quite similar, did you think so? It sounds like you are doing a grand job, she looks so happy too (I haven't managed to get this one to sleep without being hugged or walked for 3 days so I'm impressed! :o)

Just back from a walk around the block, he slept the whole way... then woke up as I came back through the door

I envy all you Sydney Mums, there are a lot of you to meet up! I'm looking forward to being able to drive again, and I might be able to make it to another meet around here.

Jaimie, no help here with the night feeding, I am thinking of trying a dummy as he just loves sucking. Hopefully Roxy will settle soon. I'm not nearly as patient at night as during the day so I hate it when he wont drop back off to sleep.

Thanks Frangi, I just love posting pics, hopefully you will have a chance to get yours online soon too!

This post will prob be so irrelevant by the time i submit it... started writing it about 4 hours ago...

I don't know how any of you can be even considering work, you are amazing! I haven't even managed to put a load of laundry through. Kes is a wonderful baby, and very peaceful, just demanding in the hug department.

Anna, I tried out the Hug-a-bub today, bad timing as he proceeded to need a feed then a change, and then got grizzly! LOL, but I am hoping it helps me get a few more things done, will have to give it another go tomorrow.

Feeling a bit like cr@p this evening, it is so great having Mum and Dad around to help, but it does make me worry how I'll cope back home.

Hope you're all having great evenings,

XGin

Gin, Leah wont go to sleep by herself either so you aren't alone. Do you feed quickly? The ECHN (fantastic woman) told me that babies who feed quickly (as leah does - done in 7-10 minutes) need more suck and a dummy suites them well. She said at this age when their eyes are open so are their mouths and if they are wakeful babies they are more prone to crying if not sucking.

Sarah, Leah is really congested now. Shes spitting the dummy because she cant breath. Poor darling. I feel so bad for her and her tiny sinus'. Will dig out the vaporiser for tonight and sleep with her propped up so it can flow out. :(

Have a good sleep girls. I dont think Im going to get much with my little one being so blocked up. Last night feels like a tease!:p

Hi mummies ......... Had appointment with Lactation Consultant last night & spent 2 hours with her. She was really nice & was a lot of help. Unfortunately Ella is very hard to wake up & once we got her awake she was so worked up she didn't want to attach anyway to feed poor thing. Put her on my boob this morning & she had a tiny feed but got frustrated & upset so then she had a bottle (the consultant said she will have to get used to it again so this is what will happen plus my supply has dropped a bit). I expressed 1 bottle after this. We went to my grandparent's for lunch where she had a bottle during the day & then when we came home she had a LONG breast feed from 6pm to 7.30pm!!! She is a GUTS! Lol. She was getting heaps too as it was going everywhere & afterward I couldn't express any bottles for tonight so she had prob at least 120mls! She was still looking for more but dozed on & off as she wasn't hungry & I wanted her to hold out for a bottle around now so maybe she sleeps well tonight. She just had it so fingers crossed she gets a good sleep & me too! Last night was okay - I went to bed at 8.30pm, DH stayed up & fed her around 10.30pm-11pm then I got up to her around 2.30am and she went straight back down & then she was grizzling from 4.30am and I managed to leave her until 5.30am when she actually started crying. I felt so much better. DH went fishing tonight with BIL so I had to stay up for her feed she just had ............ HOW LONG DO YOUR BUBS FEED FOR? (Both bottle & formula fed babies?) ........................ CAITHI - Hugs to you & Anais OOO ... Sometimes during the day when for example I am changing Ella or have to put her down to do something like prepare a bottle & she is screaming & getting worked up I start crying as I am worried I am hurting her or something. Pls talk to someone & like everyone has said WE ARE HERE FOR YOU xxx ........................ GIN - Will try & find the birth story & pics after this as couldn't find yesterday ... I want to post more pics too! Ella is so gorgeous! She is even already trying to smile & focuses. I thought I was going mad thinking she was about to smile (she was 2 weeks when started this) but my mum, DH and other family have said the same thing .......... SORRY FOR THE LONG ONE! Have a gr8 night girls & hope you all get some much needed sleep! ............ PS LANA - Good luck with the masking tape!!! LOL.

thats ok i thought you'd get a giggle! always nice when its not your own  be warned if amity is anything like my sisters twins then the tape wont work.. you'll need electrical tape lol! i've got D in a nappy cover.. its a poohbear one came in a set with a singlet.. looks cute.. its only a 00 haha, she's still tiny! i reckon A and D will be the same height in no time! A will probably be taller..
will have to try just jeans.. thanx for that!

Gin, Leah wont go to sleep by herself either so you aren't alone. Do you feed quickly? The ECHN (fantastic woman) told me that babies who feed quickly (as leah does - done in 7-10 minutes) need more suck and a dummy suites them well. She said at this age when their eyes are open so are their mouths and if they are wakeful babies they are more prone to crying if not sucking.

my girls have all been quick feeders then use me as a dummy.. M got a dummy at 3weeks and loved it, D refused a dummy till she was 12months! now loves it! and havent tried A yet, but im pretty sure she wont like it at the moment.. D & A take after chris and both have long fat tongues  so the dummies dont fit properly and it used to make D gag.. only upside is that they suck on their own tongues to go to sleep.. weird but atleast they wont lose them!

Jaimie i hope things get better with Jazzys jealousy.. hopefully it passes quickly.. nothing worse than feeling like the baby has to be 'protected' from its older sibling..

A has definately started smiling.. chris took some good pics today will post tomorrow as batteries are on charge.. she's also gooing heaps! cant wait till she starts laughing.. my older 2 were about 8weeks.. its amazing seeing their little personalities come out!

carrie A usually has a feed in under 10minutes.. she doesnt stick to a routine though so i could be feeding her hourly or every few hours through the day.. night time is better.. she still only feeds for the same amount of time but usually has a 5hour sleep followed by a 4hour sleep. i prefer her having short feeds and feeding more often.. i could not imagine having to sit for an hour or so while she feeds.. i cant just expect M & D to find things to do for that amount of time but for 5 or 10minutes they'll happily play while the baby and i 'watch', or we read a book or M puts on a dvd lol. 9 times out of 10 though they just hover over me and watch

THANKS GUYS for you love, support and help. I feel very luvky to have friends like you.

Caithi those pics of Anais are absolutely gorgeous!
:hugs: babe! I think you should go see ur doctor and tell him/her how you are feeling.

With regards to solids etc you can get little pamphlets from your Child Health Nurse that cover babies different age groups and tell you when to expect different milestones, when to start solids etc.

Thanks... the photos make me really proud that I have something so amazing trusted to me.

I went to the DRs today and they have referred me to a Trescillian house ( sp?) where you can stay for a week etc etc but apparently it could take a week to get in - a week feels like a year at the moment so hopefully they can find a spot for me.

In the mean time I will def get the info from the nurse - Im so relieved that there is some info. Thanks for your help.

your not alone when my son was a bub i would cry everytime he would cry i just felt like such a useless failure!!

Its good to know that I am not alone with this... Im exactly "there" at the moment - Im sure that I will move on from feling like this but at the moment just cant see it happening.

Its the "how long do you think this depression will last?" comment from the overly frustrated husband.... hmmmmmm would be good if I knew.

. Dont feel like a failure - hormones, sleep deprevation and an first time baby are natures joke thats played on women. Vent here though. Thats what we are all here for.

Morning girls.

Rough night with my snotty stuffed up little lady. Fed every couple of hours and gagged and struggled intermittently through the night. Poor bub.

Got proofs back from some of the photos taken yesterday. They are truely AMAZING.

Lana, been meaning to say, can you use pull ups on Amity for sleep? They may be harder to take off.

Shezi, yes the whole human dummy thing. Aint it a joy?

Caithi, good luck with Tressilian. I loved the baby love book first time around. Very practical advice for mums doing it rough.

Nothing to report. Hope you have lovely days.

Anna....When Iris was really congested she would struggle to breath through her nose and wake herself up etc but as soon as she'd suck on the dummy she'd relax and just breath through her mouth.
Hope Leah is better soon!

Hi all

Thought Id pop over from the feb thread and say that a few of us Sydney girls are going to meet up at Manly sometime over the next few weeks if anyone is interested? Where are you guys all located? I am in the Hills district but Manly was kind of a central point for us feb mums...

Can I just say there are some ridiculously cute bubs over here!!!! Congrats to you all gorgeous mums!

Have a great day everyone

Have pmed you Shelby as i would LOVE to tag along to a meet up, just have to see how i go organizing my toddler lol:rolleyes:

Carrie..... Iris used to feed for about 10mins from one breast then sleep for four to 6 hours BUT in the last couple of days shes started taking two boobs (both ten mins a side) and only sleeping 3-4 hours so i think shes going through a growth spurt!
I was checking otu the growth charts for lil girls and in the length department Iris is measuring off the scales lol the 100% for a 1mth old is about 57cm Iris is already measuring 61cm:eek:
She is definately playing for the Opals lol

Caithi...my dh was the same (Only eh never voiced that opinon lol he wasnt game enough!)
Most men dont get it and the ones who do im sure are just pretending too lol  hang in there!

edited to add....who is a sydney mum: moi, caithi, LT,Anna,Frangi? anyone else???

im finding it impossible to put roxy down. she is very clingy now. and now its not safe to lay her on a blanket in the lounge room as i was doing, just dont trust jazz.
oh and im feeling fat as i cant stop eating chocolate....
hope your all having a better day than me! *violin music begins*
lana- Jazz has PJs that button up around the waist and she cant get them off, maybe they would work on Amity?? They are just from best and less.

Typing as quick as I can befor ei go for a climb.

Caithi those photos are gorgeous! Very professional and a stunning subject.

Sydney Meeting: I live in the city and don't drive so IF possible.... can we have it not too far from the city? I'm happy to go by train but I think Manly would be logistically a bit hard.

Sarah, glad Iris' spots have cleared up. I don't dress toadelt too much, a tshirt, a wrap a sheet and one layer of very thin blanket but he still gets fairly warm. I'm trying to not use the blaket but worry he may get cold.

... I had a dream wth you in it too last night!

Bluegin, Kestrel is a darling, he looks very dark in a couple of photos.. what nationality is your DH?

Frangi.. with work I am finding I only have one session where I can actualy do it. The other sessions are filled up with doing 4 loads of washing, preping bottles, folding and stuffing nappies and toadlet stuff.

I get about 2 - 3 hours a day I can do the work, which is hard as I just had a rush of 7 new clients and 7 renewals (great for business though) Doesnt take too long now for a new client.

I still have the dregs of a couple of web sites I have to finish which is annoying.

Ansam.. "ECHN" ??? I think I need to get in touch with a nursing center and the place that hooks you up for mothers groups. I still havent read the leaflets and stuff they gave me at the hospital and I missed my appointment for the mothers group place. I'm such a bad mummy!

Mums with babies older than 4 weeks: How many feeds are you giving your babies now? We are still on 6 and approx 160 - 200mls a feed.

Finally stopped bleeding for two whole days and it started again this morning. GRR!! Damn these sensible nickers!

Lovely DP got up and did the early monning feed for me yesterday as I didn't wake up. I slept through his alarm clock twice too! Very unlike me. Dp has been very good with toadlet, it's fun to watch them together. Monty also had his first bath with Daddy last night and really enjoyed it.

Hope you all got some yummy easter bunnies to chomp on.

Jaimie, Hope your day improves. Not nice when the little ones have colds is it. Apparently I bit my sister when she was 2 days out of hospital  . Jazzy will adjust. Its just going to take time. I remember a friend of mine a couple of years ago couldn't leave her toddler and baby in the same room unsupervised either because she found the toddler sitting on the baby but now they share the same bedroom etc so it all pans out. Hang in there.

Lt, ECHN - Early Childhood Nurse. The hospital I had leah at have a clinic run by women who like babies (the Castle Hill Early Childhood Centre women dont I dont think) which is the whole reason I went to that hospital.... and the fact its a 4 minute drive so easy access.

Lana, I saw some size 2 1 piece sleep suites at Best and Less if you want to take a look at your local one.

Well DH has taken DS out. Glad to be rid of both of them right now. Leah spewed all over me and DH brought me her dirty clothes to dress her in. Where did he get the idea that was ok? So then I had to distrub her again to dress her in clean stuff without snot on it. He asked me what I wanted at the shops and I said "a rabbit for leah" as I have told him 3 times at least this week I must get a stuffed rabbit for her as Sam had one for his first easter so DH assumes I mean a chocolate one. Why on earth would I want a chocolate rabbit for a 3 week old? And then hes complaining about being tired!! Yes, I recall it was him feeding Leah every 2 hours in teh night to keep her fluids up and I recall it being him she was snuggled into all night snorting and snuffling at. MEN!

DS refuses to get dressed in the mornings so I told him to go back to bed....... and he did! I didn't expect that. Backfired big time. Thinking of getting rid of the bassinet as Leah never uses it so its just taking up room in our already cramped bedroom.

Anyway. Off for nap. Make the most of the peace.

Morning girls!

I had a really good night last night. Griff slept for 6 hours then woke for a feed and slept for another 4 hours! Yay!!

Anna - I have some of those Huggies Nappy Pants but the problem with those is that they have a strip on each side that is like the grip tabs so she could pull them off. Might check out best and less though, thanks!

Jaimie - Do the button up pants that Jazzy has have elastic in the waist too?? coz Amity can get those ones off too lol...

Caithi - Glad i was able to help hun! Hopefully you wont have too much of a wait.

:hugs: to all you mummies with stuffy snotty bubbas. Thats not fun at all! I remember when griff had a cold when he was 2 weeks old. It breaks you heart to see them like that.

Have a great day girls!

I was complaining to my mum the other night that Amity threw her book and drink bottle at Griffin and mum just said "Oh well he will live, You did!!" My brother did the same thing to me!! Hi all, happy easter...even though its tomoz

:hugs: Caithi, I dont think I need to say anymore as the girls on here have been wonderful and said everything I would say. but always feel free to share your thoughts with us as we dont mind at all and we have all felt how you feel to some extent at times I'm sure.

Bubs that had the pimples.... Jacey's have now gone into a rash thing that really looks irritable when she is hot or breastfeeding. I ended up putting some cream on it (Elidel), that the doc told me I could use when I saw him a week ago and it looks a little better today but I really didnt want to use any creams. I had the cream for Logan too as he had one spot which looks the same but Jacey has it on her cheeks and chin. Am seeing the doc again on Tuesday which I will ask again. It looks more like eczeme (sp?) now. I dont know but its terrible.

What is everyone bathing bubs in???

Jacey didnt sleep at all yesterday while we were at my mums all day!! Only in my arms. Although she had a good sleep once she nodded off at 9pm till 3am and then 6am. I'm starting to think the dummy is waking her up too during her day sleep when she spits it out. Will keep and eye on it. Trying to put her to sleep now so hopefully she goes to sleep easy.

Oops just realised I missed a page, better go and read back I think.

Amity took her nappy off again today. .
She is a little hoodini! Sounds like she wants to toilet train. Do you have a toilet near the bath. Thats how we started Ruby. When we ran the bath at night we put her on the toilet and the running water noise always made her go. It took about a week before she was asking to go for every wee.

Marks dad wishes she was a he ( actually told me this on more than one occasion ) and now I am also worried that Mark thinks this too...

I AM IN FOR A MEET UP IF ANYONE ELSE IS..... I prom not to be neg or emotional, just would be nice to catch up....

My fil was also disappointed with Chloe as she wasnt a boy. DH's brother and his wife have chosen not to have kids so they have the three granddaughters from us. He said when Chloe was born how he wished she was a boy. I am like you are lucky to have grandchilren at all so bugger off!!

Cathi, would love to meet up and dont worry about feeling down you can let it all out here anytime. Glad to hear you are booking in with Tresilian have you got a date yet?

By the way those photos are beautiful!!

my girls have all been quick feeders then use me as a dummy.. carrie A usually has a feed in under 10minutes..

Shezi I am the same 5 - 10 mins each side and then we are done. I love it esp at night as I can feed, change and burp and be back in bed within half an hour Yahh!

edited to add....who is a sydney mum: moi, caithi, LT,Anna,Frangi? anyone else???

I am here to!

Anna - I hope Leah improves.

Frangi and LT - I hope you both have the weekend off and not work!

Well we have no real news just pottering along. Chloe is still doing the one wake up at night which is great and I am still having to wake her during the day to get some extra feeds in. The girls still love her and cuddle and kiss her constantly. Her imune system will be ok as with the girls constantly pawing her she is not as clean and sterile as most babies. They even have to have their hands in the bath while I am washing her!!

Well we have great excitement around here today as the Easter bunny is coming tonight! We have made a basket for him and decorated it with Wiggles stickers and pipe cleaners!! I dont really do lots of eggs with the girls so they have slippers with a few little eggs in the toes for them. What does everyone else do?

Have a great Easter everyone!!

gemma im so over easter eggs lol.. i also dont want to buy the kids heaps so A got a huge stuffed easter bunny with a pink bow & M & D got a princess bucket each with stickers, eggs & marshmallows & a singlet each.. plus they'll be getting choccies from my parents.. my sis & my bro.. so i'd rather not overload them..

lana the babylove training pants are better than huggies.. heaps harder to get off.. they dont just peel they need to be ripped.. not that amity would have any trouble doing that!  did you try the tape?

taryn re bathing bub did you mean the actual bath or the bath wash? i'll answer both hehe.. johnsons bedtime bath & johnsons shampoo.. & we have a bath/changetable combo :D

caithi i hope you get a spot earlier. cant be nice feeling how you do.

LT hows the climbing going? do you reckon you're back to your prepreg fitness level? i'd love to have an activity to look forward to weekly or even more often.. chris wants us to do ballroom dancing, he's such a poser lmao! i actually would & dancing is good for fitness but its hard while bf.. i'll have to start expressing soon i reckon.. mum would have the girls one night a week.

sarah re iris's height.. that spins me out! what size clothes is she in? my girls have the opposite problem.. lol D didnt register on the charts for many months! lol. she was like 69cms at 12months! she's only 74 or 75cms now.. and she's 17months. haha so tiny!

Ah thanks Shezi i might give those ones a go then! Yeah we tried the tape and so far that seems to be working. I would prefer to just buy either pull ups or nappies though, not both! Can the pull ups hold the same amount of wee as the normal nappies??

Gemma - I just bought Amity a Care Bears set thing. It has one chocolate egg in it and then a bowl, egg cup, spoon and cup in it. Griffin got a bunny and some singlets lol. I know she is getting a fair bit of chocolate of my sister so i made sure she didnt get much from us! Like she needs any help in the hyperactivity department! My mum has bought all the grandkids a 3 pack of socks and is putting some little eggs in the toes of them.

07-04-2007, 14:40
yep theyd hold about the same. nappies would be cheaper though.. frustrating hey!

the set you got for amity was what i was trying to get for my girls.. could only find bratz tho and im not a fan!

Speak of the devil.... LOL must be feeding time again...

He is 1 month tommorow :smiliedance:and LT Antonio is also on 6 feeds, 3 in the day 3 night/morning 150mls per feed at the mo. He has a feed basically every 4-5/5.5 hours (it varies daily how long he sleeps).

When do babies on avg drop a night feed?

Better run someone's is hungry and letting the wholre neighbour hood know :D

I think theres been a mistake. You got my order! :hugs:

Oh speak of the devil. I obviously got out of bed because shes noticed!

Who ever asked about the bath, Im bathing her in some bath oil for babies to get rid of the scaly skin and the johnsons bath stuff on hair and skin.

Sarah, Im wondering if Leah is going to be tall. Shes put on 3.5cm in 2.5 weeks. Sams only short though - bottom of the charts so it will be interesting to see how they differ.

Ok, Im being squarked at.:)

Hi girls ... Well I have been trying to come on here since about 2pm but Missy Moo here has been up & screaming her lungs out all afternoon! Fingers crossed it wore her out enough to sleep longer than 2-3 hours between feeds tonight! Poor little thing I feel so bad for her. She still hasn't done a pooh though not through lack of trying :( I gave her some cooled boiled water before & then DH gave her a warm bath & I massaged her. She is having a bottle now & just spewed all stringy spew (sorry TMI!). She also wee'd on DH's shirt after her bath! Had to laugh! ....... DH just said she's drunk hardly anything & spewed what she did up & gone to sleep - what do u want me to do about it?? I told him I just wake her up a little by rubbing/tickling her leg or something to take more .............. Dh's can be so annoying sometimes - he cooked a late lunch & I was washing up & Ella in her bouncer wide awake & he went to watch TV which is basically same room as all open & I asked him to take her in there & sit in front of him. I then asked him to come & pick something up he dropped on floor of kitchen & he said he can't cos I told him to sit her in there with him! I'm like you can leave her a sec to do this! How do u think I manage during work days?! Grr He thinks nothing else can be done when looking after a baby. Thinks it's all sitting on the couch with her watching tv or something! ......... SORRY FOR THE VENT! ....... Think I'm gonna have to go finish feeding her ... BRB

Back - DH was holding her out in front so told him to hold E closer to him. I made him get up & do a 4am change & feed last night as she'd been up since last feed pretty much. She never sleeps after he feeds her - guess why? Cos no matter how many times I tell him the routine me & E have during day & night is boil kettle, put bottle in the hot water to heat, go & change her nappy, get bottle, have a feed & fall asleep he changes her afterwards waking her up ... I tell him all the time but he's the one that gets to sleep in on the weekends!!! Not like me who has been up since that feed anyway! Should've just done it! Sorry ... bad mood ... ANYHOO ... How's ppl's days been? Good? Dh was gonna get our tyres done so dropped me off at the discount chemist with E so I could get more formula, some larger Avent bottles & some tablets to dry up my milk (I tried her on boobies again this morning but side I initially had trouble on was feeling like knives again like the mastitis so I have decided to formula feed only now - at least I have tried & also expressed my heart out & been exhausted to give her the breast milk for 3 weeks) but need a prescription! Then walked over to the shopping centre to get some things from B&L and Big W for Ella. One long sleeve suit says "Princess in Training" - Very Cute!!! ............ HAPPY EASTER FOR 2MOZ EVERYONE & I HOPE THE EASTER BUNNY SPOILS YOU ALL XXX

lots to catch up on...

BG - welcome back, i love the name Kestrel
Caithi - hope you are feeling better today, your photos are so beautiful.
Lana - i was just telling DH about the pulled-off nappies, we are not looking forward to that, gross!!

Easter, i love it, i am a MAJOR chocoholic  we have already polished off a box of ferrero rocher!! got the parents coming over tomorrow for lunch.

had a cruddy night last night, i have a sore throat/headache/bloked nose and i think i have a blocked milk duct (one sore spot, been closely monitoring for signs of mastitis, it sounds like a nightmare! but feels better today). Harper slept from 8-11pm which was great as i was in bed at 8.30 but then he didnt go back to sleep between 11 and 2! i was so tired and felt so sick and so over rocking the bl00dy bassinette!! had a midnght cry... but DH brought him into the lounge for a play this morning and i stayed in bed for ages so i feel a lot better now.

LL - sounds like Ella the other night! She had her 10.30pm feed & kept me up until 2am after her next feed! Grr! Not happy Jan & I was very sick with mastitis then too! ......... I feel bad b!tching about DH but some things are annoying like he gets grumpy in the mornings when she cries & I am the one up all night & he gets to sleep in til bloody midday & it's not fair! :( If I don't ge tup to her though he won't really hear her & sleep through.

LT- DH is Filipino so that's the darkness, as you can see he doesn't get it from me

Thanks Gemma! I love his lips, and they look so gorgeous when he puckers up to get ready for a feed :o

Speaking of feeding, it sounds like you're all doing very well getting in to a routine, Kes likes to eat 2 hourly mostly, takes around 30 minutes all up, and lately sleeps about 10 minutes between each feed (except at night, where he feeds 3 times and sleeps between).

BUT, got him in the HAB at 1pm today, and pulled him at 4:30 as I was worried (he hadn't eaten for 4 hours, is that OK?). He then proceeded to feed for an entire hour! Ouch

Sorry to hear there are so many stuffy bubs, not nice!

Oops, woken the beasty, back later!

LT....Re: the Sydney meet up i think i agree hun manly is a bit too far for me too but i'll see whats best for all you girls first and then try and make it, RTC mum didnt know you were another sydney mum:smiliedance:

Re: the over heating thing, last night i just put Iris in her kiddopotomus wrap (btw i keep forgetting to plug this great wrap its fabulous especially for those mummy's who havent yet mastered the art of wrapping!
Its a wrap that does up with velcro I just love it!
Iris can never escape it, must buy some more!)

Anyway back to my post about over heating, i just popped Iris in the kiddopotomus wrap with nothing on but a nappy last night and she was warm but not hot, her skin looked amazing this morning!

Hope your climb went well hun and im a bit afraid to ask what i was doing in your dreams hehehe

Tazzy.....dont know if you read my post about the health nurse telling em Iris's pimples/rash was caused by me over dressing her and her kinda having a heat rash? maybe thats what Jacey's got? just a thought
Re: bathing, i dont use any products on Iris, coz of my experience with ds (he has v.sensitive skin etc)
I do however use some organic hypoallergenic moisteriser on her skin (for baby massage) and that helps keep her skin moist and nto so dry/flakey!

Shezi.....awww your girls sound soooo cute! My mum keeps telling me I should try Bonsai fertilizer on Iris to try and stop her from growing!
Re: clothes she wears those bonds stripey suits (the footless ones) alot and fits in 000 (just) its not so much the body as shes rather lean looking its more just the length they kinda look like 3/4 pants on her hahahaha she'll need 00 v.soon!

Anna....Hmmm yep I think Iris is going to tower over Orlando too lol even though O is a good sized lad he was only 54cm at birth while Iris was 59cm so a BIG difference.

OH and i almost forgot Iris did a half roll today! I kid you not i had her on the change mat at poppy's house and she moved her leg over and half rolled off the mat:eek:
She is soooo big and strong she holds her neck up and looks around like shes heaps older!

Carrie....Iris still hasnt done a pooey either (its now been a week) Im taking her to another natropath on weds (The one i took my son too, shes fabulous!) so hopefully she'll give baby Iris some relief I hate to hear her suffering!

LL.....Sorry hun about not pming you back will go do it now!
BTW your symptoms sound alot like mastitis hun, maybe go see your doc as its very much like having the flu with ehadaches and it feels like your dying!
Hope its not but if it is get some meds and loads fo rest it will pass:hugs:

Have a gd night girlsxx

Gin, yip absolutely fine if they want to sleep longer instead of feed. As long as they aren't sick, dehydrated or unusually lethargic let them sleep! LOL. Some days I feel like I will burst because Leah decides to sleep for hours (not often mind you LOL).

Sarah, 59cm!! Wow, Sam was only 50 born and Leah 49.5. I thought they were big enough LOL.

Leah has pimples too. Came up suddenly yesterday right before her photos. Thank goodness for photoshop.

Leah is having a sleep in her bassinet :fingerscrossed: . First time in days and days. Heres hoping the dummy stays in. That bloody thing needs stapling in.

So where and when suites the sydney mums? Anyone know of anywhere baby friendly with good caffine close to the city?

Little_Toad

Just a quicky..

Sarah, with the kiddopotamus weap, can the baby have his arms up? Toadlet likes having his arms up rather than in the straight jacket position.

I was going to custom make a wrap that would keep his arms up and make it really easy for DP to wrap him.

I'm also not using bath products on toadlet, just water.

Tazzy, I have some Protopic (kids strenght) which is slighly better than Elidel (similar). if you find that Jacey IS getting excema let me know and I'll send you across a couple of tubes. .. (no charge)

Bluegin and Sarah.. I love mixed babies.. so adorable.

Shezi. ballroom dancing sounds like fun! Would be nice tohave your mum take care of the girls so you can do something together.
Climbing is fantastic! having lots of fun, my fitness is just as good as before I got pg as I was climbing with 18 extra kilos so that kept me very fit. I am back to doing black routes already (hardest ones). Can't believe how easy it feels. I might try competitions this year.

Sleepies time, Frog was very tired today and helped out heaps as usual.

We woke toadlet up today to try get him to sleep lots tonight.. i think we gave him one extra feed by mistake! I thought we'd seen alot of him!
Hope we haven't stuffed things up, although I'm expecting we might have... stay tuned!!

Caithi,... not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but if you want to come over to my house any day and just hang out together that would be great. I have all the baby things you need here! So Anais can have her sleeps etc as well. I'm sorry I can't come to your place but I'm allegic to woof and meow monsters.

Re the hugabuub, neither me or toadlet liked it. His head lkept popping out the side and felt like he had his head too far back, I prefer his position in the babgy bjorn although it isnt overly comfy on my shoulders.

Happy Easter everyone hope everyones have a lovelylong weekend.

Dh was good last night and did the 2:30am feed and the 7:30am feed so I was able to sleep. I have been trying to get over a sore throat.

I have (what I think it is anyway) epidural pain in my back. I get it every week or so. Never had it before I had Coop. It's very annoying anyhow.

What is everyone bathing bubs in???
I wash Coop in J&J milk bath.

LT - saw your post re not liking the Hug-a-bub and finding the Baby Bjorn uncomfy... Seeing as though you are pretty nifty with a sewing machine check this website out http://www.sleepingbaby.net/jan/Baby/index.html#shirt

There are heaps of different patters on there, nearly all are for mums and bubs!

Hope all the ill bubs feel better soon and that you all get a good nights sleep..

Im off now. Sam is grumpy as.

ETA: Emma, griff has just started sleeping through on a couple of nights. Last night he slept for 6 hours then another 4.. and the night before that it was 5.5 hours and then 3.5... Im really hoping this is a regular thing, although i doubt it considering how much he slept today. :fingerscrossed: though!

Mornign girls *yawn*.

Sam woke up with a sore throat this morning so that got easter off to a bumper start. leah woke twice in the night for feeds but at least I managed to keep her in the bassinet till 4.30am.

Sam was very excited about the easter bunny visiting. I scattered small eggs down the hall and stairs leading to his big egg (well, toddler sized big). Anyway, hes been helping himself quite happily this morning. Finally got them in the cupboard.

My uncle and his family are coming over for afternoon tea today. Other than that - nothing planned except vacuuming and tidying.

Leah is very awake this morning so trying to get her off to sleep now.

How was everyones easter morning?

LT, with the HAB, did you have it tight enough? and his little head tucked under? I find a big difference if I dont tighten it enough. Didn't like the baby bjorn with sam. My boobs are too big for it to be comfy I think.

Have a good day girls.

Iris had a brillant sleep last night (8pm till 3.30am) love those loooong sleeps I feel so refreshed!

I made the cutest tops for the kids for easter, i downloaded a pic of two choc. easter bunnies one with its tail bitten off saying "My *** hurts" and the other with its ears bitten off saying "What?"

Thanks for the innfo onthe kiddopotamus Sarah,
I might grab one of those and a Zodic wrap. Where did you get yours?

Going to try put Toadlet on the Save our Sleep routine today.
So far on track!@

He slept 6 hours last night YEAH!! Equal longest time he's slept for.

I think I've worked out that toadlet doesn't have fizzures in his bottom, cause occasionaly he doesn't scream when he poos. Also if he does a poo and Im changing him (and he normally does more at the change table) He doesn't scream with his nappy off and pooing).
So it's obvioulsy not hurting him then, he just hates sitting in poo!

I'm just a little nervous about the first time I take him out for a feed and he does a poop and screams! *embaressing*.

Had a fantastic climb yesterday, my old climbing partner who joined the army popped in for a bit. He's my climbing husband. I tacled a difficult black route and only failed on one move.

Elmo, thanks for that link.. I got some card to make some black and white mobiles for toadlet when he is feeding and for above his bassinet. I printed out some shapes from that site.

I have a cold.. hope Monty dooes't get it.

PS - LT I gave up on wrapping E too as she is like Toadlet & likes sleeping with her arms above her head. She now sleeps better in a wondersuit & a wrap draped over her bottom half. She was wearing short sleeves & wrapped up tight but she managed to ALWAYS get out - one night she had long pants on, short sleeve shirt and a bunny rug wrapped tight & she hadn't got out but I unwrapped her for her bottle, amazed she wasn't already unwrapped & she'd managed to kick her pants off! I hope Leah lasted in her bassinet this time!

Good to hear the climbing is going so well, amazing how easy some stuff feels after doing it while pregnant. Even just a brisk walk around the block surprises me, as I hadn't realised that it was tougher being preg.

OK really quick one - I have Claire asleep (FINALLY!!!) and just trying to get Owen asleep as I type (one-handed, so apologies for any typos!!)

For the bath thing, my hospital advises not to use anything until bub is at least 6 weeks old. That goes for bath products, wipes, lotions etc. Only water. The reason for this is that products can affect the keratinisation of their skin, which is not in full swing til around the 6 week mark. I was using cotton wool & warm water to wipe his bum, but when he poos about 500 times a day, it was getting a bit much!! So I backed down & started using the Huggies Extra sensitive wipes. I still use only water in his bath though.

Claire had a ball having an egg hunt this morning. Ended up with way too much chocolate though!! And then my mum & dad came round with a stack more for her!

Ok. Gotta go! I'll catch up later!

Hehe, thanks mate, he is a spunk :D ;)
He was 9lbs 2oz (4.135kg), 52cm long (so not the footballer legs I'd imagined, LOL), and head 36cm.
So he is a pretty chubby little fella, but not hugely long or anything.

I think my massive tummy was partly the big (apparently, 1kg) placenta, and the high (14) fluid volume.
I'm really looking forward to getting him along to the MCHN to get his current stats, sounds like Ella is thriving!

Thanks for the tip Mrs Miggins, I'll stick to water only for now!

MrsMiggins, how often does Owen poo?
Toadlet does massive poos every 2 out of three nappy changes. Takes about 15 minutes to do 3 poos on average.
We go through a pack of 80 wipes nearly every two days cause he screams straight away after doing a poo and we have to change him.

Also, he smiled for Daddy twice yesterday already! and one for me.
He also made an OOOO noise, unlike the crying he does usually. and another noise yesterday.
he's so intrigued with DP, loves staring at him. They had a bath together yesterdayand the day before and a shower this morning, he was getting his head and face wet and didn't mind one bit.

Tazzy, I have some Protopic (kids strenght) which is slighly better than Elidel (similar). if you find that Jacey IS getting excema let me know and I'll send you across a couple of tubes. .. (no charge)

Thanks LT it looks heaps better today and I'll see what the doc says Tuesday.

Happy Easter everyone.

Well we had Jacey's naming day today. It was very nice and she slept through the whole thing so it was nice. I will change my avatar with a pic of her after I type this.

Her sleeping is going really well at night. She still sleeps from 9pm to 3am and then around 6.30am. Well thats been the norm for a few days now. Last night was terrible though as both her and DS was screaming as I was trying to get them to bed. It was 9.30pm before I was able to relax. I missed dinner and everything. Hubby and his parents were in town watching the cowboys play so I was on my own running back and fourth between rooms. Have no idea why DS wouldnt sleep, usually he is fine but maybe cause he had choc!! So needless to say he had choc this morning and none after that. I have honestly never heard him cry like he did and in the end I had to get him out of the cot and wait until after Jacey was asleep and them rock him to sleep in the chair. I had a few tears at one stage.

Forgot to say last time those pics are just gorgeous Caithi. I may steel some of those shots and try them ourselves.

OK well must run, take care veryone

Hope everyone's having a lovely Easter Sunday

Cooper's been really good for me the last 24hours...last night he slept from 10:30pm - 4:40am then till 8am to 12pm and still sleeping, which is good cos I'm not that well. I have a blocked ear. I had a sore throat all last week and now my ear is playing up to I called the doc and she came out and said she couldn't even see my ear drum so she put me on antibiotics.

Hope everyones have a good day.

forgot to say also that the baby naming ceremony cost $225 (which $25 of that was a ferry charge cause he lives on an island). I thought it was great cause we got candles (as we had a lighting of the candles thing), good copies of the service, extra copy for grandparents with certificates and some other stuff and it was very beautiful.

Happy Easter ladies! Just a quicky as i have a splitting headache.

Shezi - I just have to say that the pic of Aalivyah smiling is absolutely beautiful!!

Emma - :yelclap: Im glad that Cooper slept for you! I only got 4 hours and then 3 hours out of Griff last night, still not too bad though.

Well i just finished cleaning up MORE POO!! Amity fell asleep in the car on the way back from my sisters so i put her straight to bed and forgot to tape her nappy shut. She didnt waste any time in smearing it everywhere again!! Oh, and Sam blamed it on me because i didnt put the tape on... As if i dont already have enough to do!

Grr, well i gotta go, Amity is screaming outside the study door. I just want 5 mins peace....

Hi Girls,

Just a quickie as I dont know how long Leahs going to sleep.....

MrsM, our hospital recommended using product in the bath. The product they used though i dont like. I had the massage oil for Sam and it stunk. I didn't use anything for him in his baths so not actually sure why I am this time around.

Wraps - now that the weather is cooling Im using cheese cloth wraps. They are huge and twice the thickness of muslin and stretchy so they hold baby really tight and secure. Leah cant sleep if her legs and arms wave around.

Lana, sounds like a tough deal with all the poo! Sam hasn't gotten to that stage yet and Im hoping he passes it by. :fingerscrossed: Probably just jinxed myself.

LT, whats the Save Our Sleep solution? Ive heard of it but haven't read about it.

Shezi, photos are gorgous!

Sarah, love the T-shirts. Post pics. Sorry about your mother. Who'd have them huh?

Taryn, congrats on teh naming ceremony. Your avatar is gorgous.

Sorry if Ive missed anything..... think that was the main things anyway. I read super quick.

Well our sleeps not as bad as it could be I guess. Leah is waking twice a night most nights and sometimes goes back to sleep ok and sometimes not. I do find it easier to settle her in bed with us if shes not happy.

Today both kids have had colds and Sams 2 yr molars are giving him hell. Not nice. Hes still being really rebelious and Leah has been crying all day and sleeping not much at all. She isn't a big day sleeper anyway unless in her HAB or in our bed having cuddles but today shes been really unsettled. Wonder if shes got a pain or something  .

My mother called today and has completely forgiven my sister for ignoring leahs birth now that Ive received a sh*tty 2 line email from her 3 weeks late. She thinks it would be nice if we made contact over email and wasn't too impressed when I told her I did actually write her a response that Ive saved as a draft.... I dont think she was impressed with what my response was going to be  . Now I remember why we live in a different country. They make my brain hurt. :o

Anyway, have a good night girls. Im going to watch the final half of Greys Anatomy. Didn't realise the time.

Anna, I hope you've got Grey's on at the moment, "Merlin" on here for the holiday
Thanks again for your sleep tip, I let Kes go for 5 hours today and he seemed to get a lot out of it! Ahhh the joys of having DH home, I don't think I'd ever manage that much out of him in the bassinet!
Lana, I hope your headache nicks off soon, no fair at Easter! And a smack on the wrist for Sam, as if you need to be reminded of these things in such cases! Grr

Had a cry today over my "gut apron", that stretching sure did make a mess of my tummy :crying:, gotta love that husband of mine though, he just smiled and laughed a bit, he can't see why it's bad at all, and all for a good cause. Makes me feel so much better, as I'd hate for him to be grossed out by me (that sounds kind of pathetic now I've written it, but I'm sure you'll all get what I mean!)

Anna, your kids sound like they're having a rough trot, here's hoping they get a good nights sleep, and wake up a little refreshed!

Lovely pics Shezi! She is such a cuddly looking little girl, I want to have a hold! LOL

Taryn, the naming ceremony sounds lovely! We haven't decided what we're doing yet for the boy, will have to get a wriggle on methinks!

Emma, :hugs:, feel better matey XX

LT, Kes is a big pooer too, 5 or 6 squirters a day, and 1 or 2 over night. Waiting for them to settle down (and solidify! LOL), which I've heard can happen in the first month or two, we'll see

Enjoying having 2 hands, probably billions of things I should be doing, oh well :p

quickie ..

Sarah, is there anywhere on the net that shows the acupressure points for constipation?

I've stopped putting gaviscon in toadelts milk now (dont think he needs it)) and he seams to be constipated a little. poos are less runny and more of an effort for him (+ more screaming getting them out!)

taryn im thinking about naming ceremonies for the girls.. well a joint one for all 3. i think they're such a great idea. i expected it to cost more than that! glad yours went well and Jacey slept through it :yelclap:

sarah how bad was iris's nappy after 8 days? A didnt do a 'decent' one yesterday but today was shocking.. nearly came out of every opening it could get to! and that was only 1 day without one! cant imagine what 8 days would be like! what a relief for Iris though!!

lana thats terrible.. what on earth does amity get out of smearing poo everywhere? apart from a stinky bedroom & hands! has she always done this or is it worse since griffin came along.. maybe its an attention thing.. who knows what goes on in the minds of 2yr olds!

bluegin.. yep pregnancy sure does mess with ya belly doesnt it.. my skin is heaps thinner.. it kinda 'crinkles' when i slouch while sitting.. gives me a reason to keep a good posture lol. and i know what you mean about the guys.. your hubby sounds lovely tho! and he's right it being for a good cause!! :D
oh and you're more than welcome to have a hold.. just gotta come to perth

with the talk of loving mixed babies.. well i've always wanted an african american bub.. those babies are just gorgeous.. their beautiful dark tanned skin and the hair.. aww so cute! obviously not gonna happen!! unless we adopt! lol.

anna i hope tomorrow is a better day for you! with the kids sick.. your sis and your mum.. geez! :hugs:

oh and so much for aalivyah looking like me.. every day she is looking more and more like chris! i cant believe it! not that its a problem coz D is the spitting image of him and unbelievably cute lol. i just dont know how she's managed to change so much in such a short amount of time. i think she'll be keeping the darker hair tho.. her eyebrows are still very dark where as D & M's were much lighter..

has anyones babies eyes changed colour yet?! we were thinking we might actually get a brown eyed bub this time(considering we both have dark brown eyes) but nope.. another bluey for us!

A isnt sleeping much at all through the day.. and just wants to feed constantly.. im not surpised as her big sisters did the exact same thing.. i think it might be a growth spurt at the moment tho.

anyone using swings/rockers/playmats yet? we've sat A in the swing but havent turned it on.. just to give her a change of scenery and me 2 hands to eat. lol. can only happen while M & D are sleeping tho.. well more so D as she practically climbs on her to say 'hellooooo baybee!' and tries to 'beep beep' her nose. while the girls are awake and i need to do something the only place i can put A is in her cot right near the side closest to the wall so D cant grab her.. she's actually really gentle.. both the girls are but i just cant take chances.

Hope everyone had a good day,

My sisters came over tonight and we had dinner together and they baby sat for me while I watched TV...up until Cooper threw up on my bed & all over himself, and I had to change the sheets. My eldest sister (who's had children) asked me if I needed a wipe  I needed a bit more they a wipe to clean up the mess  .

naming ceremonies...are they similar to christenings? We got Cooper Dedicated (which is similar to a christening in our religion) and it was free. I did a slide show up with music and a friend video taped it for us.

has anyones babies eyes changed colour yet?

anyone using swings/rockers/playmats yet?

Eyes - Cooper's eyes have changed properly to a deep blue.

We put Coop in a Swing and he likes it on faster lol. He slept for 4 hours straight in it today.

jacey has blue eyes too I think :fingerscrossed: . Logan has hazel/brown eyes and he never really had blue eyes so I'm excited about jacey's - just like her daddy!!

I use the swing for when I am putting Logan to bed and his naps. I too can only use it when he is not here or asleep. Poor Jaceys doesnt get as much tummy time/floor time as I would like either cause I have to be so carefuly. Logan is all over her with kisses etc.

The naming ceremny is similar to a dedication. We had the celebrant who did our wedding do it so it was extra special to us and also DS had his on Easter Sunday last year too. If anyone would like a read of the ceremony I have it on email so could email it to you.

Yes it was a very nice day but LONG as we have lunch etc afterwards at my mums house. Oh and everyone was quite dressed up for the occasion except my older brother....yep he turned up 10 minutes late in shorts and a singlet and with their bloody dogs which they know I cant stand..... who does that :banghead: We had it in a very nice park in town and they bought their 2 dogs (which I might add are big wolfhound things). I was so angry but didnt even say anything to him cause I'm sure he was after a reaction!!

OK well big day DH at work today, inlaws gone home so I'm sure DS will be a little terror today.

Oh and Lana.... I think it might be an attention thing too! Do you make a deal about it or just ignore it and get it cleaned up. Hopefully it wont last long.

Jacey woke at 2am and then 6am last night. She has been good but doesnt go to bed until 9pm.

oops little possum is awake:wave:

Hey girls.

Still got snotty kids today. Leah sounded like a freight train all night until I squirted breastmilk up her nose and asperated it. She wasn't impressed but it did the job.

Nope. No greys. Had to be content with CSI.
Re the sleep yeah, the midwives in hospital thought I was nuts when I suggested waking Leah for a feed. As they told me "no healthy baby will starve itself". Makes sense.
As for the bassinet. I sympathise and understand. Sounds like our bundles are similar temperments.

LT, formula can cause constipation. I found that with teh NAN (though it was the best for Sam tum). Never really found a cure. The laxitives the paed up him on was parachoc (over the counter stuff).

Shezi, Leahs eyes are turning brown as Sams did very early.

Um,.... dont think theres much else going on. Bit tired but Leah did sleep fairly well, only woke once but I guess with all her snuffling and DS slept lightly so I heard him a few times........ all equates to me feeling tired I guess.

Off to the shops today to get Sam soem shoes and Leah some winter clothes.

Have a good day.

Why wont she sleep at night????????????
Roxy slept till 11:30 then was awake at 2 then basically wouldnt settle till 7am this morning...she did a few farts and burps ( i do try burping after she feeds) thru the night so could it be wind pain?? Also i had half a glass of wine before bed...maybe thats why? But she has done this most nights recently and im am so exhausted. And then of course she sleeps all day. And when i try and get her to feed more at night she refuses or shuts her eyes till i put her back in the cot and then she is awake again..dont know what to do.
Taryn- The naming day sounds like it went well. Pity about your bro...my borther would do something like that. Jacey looks gorgeous in her dress too!
Lana- More poo! You poor thing...Sam should have cleaned it up for you. As if you dont wipe up enough poo every day.
BG- I hear you re the apron..your Dh sounds wonderful though. He obviously adores you! My Dh says he doesnt even see my tummy when my boobs are looking so big! Dont need to say that he is quite happy that im breastfeeding! And it is so true that our tummys are the way they are for good reason.
Anna- Have fun at the shops!! I just did the winter clothes shop for Jazz and spent over $200.... plus $50 on shoes...Dont tell Dh!

Kestrel's eyes are a very very dark brown it seems, we were hoping for blue or green, but methinks my little monkey will be spunky enough without that, wink wink

He is turning in to a wonderful night sleeper, and when he wakes for a feed or change he just lies there snuffling and wiggling his arms. I think I'll miss him when he's in his cot at our place, but I will enjoy being able to roll over!

Hehe, hadn't thought of it like that!

Don't you just love their expressions!?! When Kes poos his eyes go like Beany's "Tuuurtle" avatar, then he does a massive explosion, then looks carefully side to side as if he wonders if anyone saw! :o

Just a really quick one (one-handed typing again!!)

LT, Owen poos pretty much every nappy change. I lose count to be honest!! Today since midnight, he's done about 8, I think.

It's a bit of a shock to my system, as Claire used to only do one every 3 days as a newborn up until the time she really got going on solids! She was formula fed, but I'm not sure whether that has a lot to do with it, as she was much the same on breastmilk.

Hi ladies ...... JAIMIE - GRR! I know what u mean re sleep! They have their days upside-down! ... Last night I decided to use the bigger Avent bottles I bought on Sat & give her the 150ml of forumla instead of the 120ml to see if that would keep her fuller for longer & therefore sleep a bit longer. She had one at 8.30pm & gutsed (sp?) it down, woke exactly 3 hours later at 11.30pm on the dot & guttsed a second 150ml bottle down then stayed awake til 2am & wouldn't go in basinette without ending up winging & I refused to give her another bottle as by the time she was changed & finished last one it was 12.30am so I took her into bed with me & she slept until 5.30am! So she went 6 hours! I got a bit of sleep at least. I tried to transfer her to basinette at 4.30am as had a dead arm & sweaty arm where her head was but she cried so put her back in bed on other side & she slept til 5.30am ...... so she can go longer!!! ....... Anyhoo after that bottle she went to sleep until around 7.30am and at 8.30 gave her a bottle & expressed 1 bottle & I went back to bed leaving her with DH as I have had massive headaches etc & so tired etc & I wake up to her crying in the bassinette beside me at 11am!!! I was cut he couldn't keep her out there with him so I could sleep ...... He wanted to go crabbing but didn't end up going as I was complaining about him not letting me sleep then I proceeded to do housework & he played his bloody PS2 & I said he may as well gone crabbing as not helping anyway & he said I didn't tell him what I want him to do! Grr ... After I did everything I sat down to have brekky/lunch & she cried & I still had to leave my lunch & attend to her so sandwich dried out & I put her on play mat when I went to the loo & she was screaming & he was just playing his PS2 & didn't pick her up til I came back out because 'i said she's awake & likes to play on her playmat'!!! ........ SORRY FOR THE LONG VENT!!! This has been going on all day & haven't really spoken to each other. He may as well be at bloody work. I was prepping a bottle yesterday while E was screaming & asked him to hold her & he said 'I thought u said u can do these things on your own!' I said I obviously can as u aren't here during day but u are here so u can hold her! SORRY AGAIN! Will go catch up on posts now ... PS I wanna cry!!

A is gorgeous & so are you! Ella's eyes are going blue too like her daddy's side - my sister is the only one on my side with them .............. LT - Ella smiled on Saturday too so was very happy as only 3 weeks old! Clever babies hey?! ................ ANNSAM - Ella seemed to have a cold this morning, snuffly nose, sneezing, coughing etc but seems to have cleared up this afternoon. We were meant to go with DH's family to the local Easter Show today (we were just gona go just for an hour as didn't really want E out there long being a newby etc, just so we could see the family) but we cancelled once she was sick. SIL still wanted to have lunch instead at their place but I said no as didn't want E going outside or around other ppl at all as just wanted her better. Hope your kiddies are better too! ................ GIN - My tummy is yucky too - stretchies were better after birth but now seem redder again :( Weight is good though as fitting into clothes I couldn't fit into before preg! Have to be careful now tho as not breastfeeding, just expressing once per day & not much so will have more time to eat during day now & not burning the calories. Will have to start walking soon ...... How's your cut? I can't even see mine under my jelly-belly! ........... JAIMIE - I had massive boobs to start with & wish they'd get smaller! LOL. It's my birthday in about 1 1/2 weeks & getting money for shopping so gonna buy clothes for me & a new bra that fits better! ........... gonna upload some pics of E now onto photobucket so will hopefully get to post soon! Frangi Callum is a gorgeous little boy. The photos were great.

Well my day has been pretty good surprisingly. Helps when Jacey has a long nap though and gives DS and me some time together. Plus I got some housework done. Isnt it funny how you clean like mad when you have visitors coming but as soon as they arrive the house looks like a bomb!! I finally got it looking descent again. Just need to mop now. I have mothers group here tomoz so need to get it done.

I have just put Jacey down again as she did her tired cry but I hate it at this time of night cause I'm worried she will wake more!! But I guess she needs it.

She is 6 weeks old today and I forgot to take a pic :banghead: so I hope she wakes up and only has a short nap. Having my 6 week check tomoz, and hubby is seriously keen for some lovin!! My stitches are still there so hoping Doc can take them out.

:fingerscrossed: bubbas sleep well tonight for everyone.

Frangi - Callum is adorable! I love the pic of him all snug asleep!

Carrie + LL - I feel you gals! Sam gets grumpy if i ask him to do things too. I end up doing pretty much everything for BOTH of the kids. I mean, how hard is it to give Amity a bath every now and then?? He got home from work not too long ago and has fallen asleep on the couch. Thats what he does every day and im bloody sick of it. I have stopped doing any cleaning etc just to make a point.

I remembered to tape Amity's nappy today lol and i made sure that i taped her wardrobe closed too just in case she decided to raid that again too!

I am so very tired today and in a really grumpy mood. I wish i could just go to bed :gloomy:

ETA: LL - Griffin started to lose some of his hair on top of his head but there is all fluffy new growth there now!! Looks so cute now!

Sarah - My SIL used Nilstat (in liquid form) in bubs mouth when her and my nephew got thrush. She said you can get it from the chemist. It is a sticky liquid that you apply to their mouth AFTER breastfeeding. (im pretty sure thats what it is called)

Callum is adorable! I just love that blue outfit in the first pic too, would you mind telling where that's from? I love the pic of you together too, nothing better than that first moment together :o

Sounds like the March Daddies need a swift kick! I'll admit, I have pretty low expectations regarding housework help, so I am chuffed that he'll spend so long settling Kes to sleep (yet wouldn't even know how to fold a nappy )
As for baths, Kes gets top-n-tailed with a facewasher mostly, as I can't bathe him myself, and it seems to keep him in order.

As for not using product on their skin (which I am happy not to do), what are you lot using for that overbaked-baby peeling skin? It is only bad on his ankles, a bit on his hands, most of the rest righted itself already.

Taryn, can't believe Jacey is already 6 weeks, it seems so recent that you were heading off to have her. A real spinout, even though people are always saying how quickly it all goes... hard to believe till it happens!

Frangi, your DH sounds like a dear, it's wonderful when they know just what to say isn't it!

Lana, I hope you get a good long rest, it must be so much harder for you with the 2 :hugs:. Griffin's little mohawk sounds pretty cute, hehe, he's growing in to his funky name already!

Sarah, hope the treatment works quickly, it sounds uncomfortable... do you have white spots?

Knitting today, exciting to be able to do it again, even if I do have to take a lot more breaks than usual for feedings and such!

Poor Amity still has a fever. It is at 38.3. I just gave her some more Nurofen so hopefully that will help. Im really hoping that it is just her 2 yr old molars and not the start of something nasty. Its day care day tomorrow and im meant to be going shopping! (oh what a selfish mummy!:o )

I think theres been a mistake. You got my order! :hugs:

Ha Ha , trust me after Tilly who was a complete nightmare at this age I deserve a good one !

BUT, got him in the HAB at 1pm today, and pulled him at 4:30 as I was worried (he hadn't eaten for 4 hours, is that OK?). He then proceeded to feed for an entire hour! Ouch

Bg - babies will always wake when they need food just enjoy the break when you get it esp if he is feeding through the day. I am only waking Chloe because she was a bit slow in putting on weight so wake her for an extra feed in the day.

Wraps - now that the weather is cooling Im using cheese cloth wraps. They are huge and twice the thickness of muslin and stretchy so they hold baby really tight and secure. Leah cant sleep if her legs and arms wave around..

I am using the L'il Fraser Wraps that are made out of t-shirt material now that its getting cold. They are great because with the bit of stretch in them you can wrap them really nice and tight.

Why wont she sleep at night????????????

BG- I hear you re the apron..your Dh sounds wonderful though. He obviously adores you! My Dh says he doesnt even see my tummy when my boobs are looking so big! Dont need to say that he is quite happy that im breastfeeding! And it is so true that our tummys are the way they are for good reason.

Jamie - I hope you get some better nights soon.

My dh is also in love with my boobs though I so dont feel up for any special cuddles when bf so poor thing doesnt get much at all!! As soon as i stop bf and the big boobs disappear I am very interested, so at the moment all he can do is look but not touch, cruel I know!!

Well we had a great easter with family and friends and way too many eggs!! Even though we asked for not too many chocs for the girls everyone was out of control. We have culled and already got rid of some as its just too many.

My grandmother is heading back to melbourne tomorrow after spending the weekend with us. Its so lovely when she visits and I love that my girls get to spend time with thier great grandmother hopefully something they will have memories of when they are older. Everytime she comes we do the four generations photo and I always hope it wont be our last.

Well better go and get the roast pork out of the oven, have a great week everyone!!

OOH OOH! Frangi you just reminded me.... Remember how Griff had that really bad blistering on his little bottom?? Well I ditched the cream the paed told me to use (he got a reaction) and started using the Paw Paw ointment and voila! It is all gone! I just thought i would share that with you all. So if any of your bubbas get nappy rash or dry skin at all, Paw Paw is definitely the way to go!

Hi everyone,
As we are still at my mums i've had 20 mins or so so read thru some of the recent posts. Can't remember who has said what, but it all is so reassuring! :)

HOw is everyone feeling who had a c-section? Bub is 4 weeks old and I still am a bit sore when I do too much. I get sore during the night getting up to bub.

Thought I'd stopped bleeding but it started again... how long are we meant to bleed for? I keep thinking that I hope everything is ok inside after the c-section. have checkup next week or week after so guess it will be checked then. Only bleedong a bit and makes sense that i would still be a bit sore as it's a big thing to be cut open... just wonder and hope it's all been sewn back together well!

Will is a little darling. We left him with mum a few nights ago to collect takeaway from around the corner and i missed him so much...

I feel quite yucky about my scar... It's only small and so low down and my tummy is fine - no marks or anything - but when i look at down there i feel a bit sad. guess it's a reminder of havong our beautiful boy though so it's a happy sccar!

better go, bub is calling.\

big hugs to all!

yep papaw ointment is fab! its all i use on D's excema(sp?!) too.

i need to book an appt at the drs for M, i need to get her ears checked.. she used to get a lot of infections as a bub along with her constant tonsillitis.. but im finding that she miss hears what i say and i need to repeat myself, its worse when we're talking but not looking at eachother.. ofcourse this could be just 'normal 3yr old' behavior but i wanna double check anyway.. she seems to get these probs from me.. i had my tonsils & adnoids removed and grommets put in when i was 4 or 5 but they wanted to do it at 2. mum wouldnt let them hehe.

am i the only one whos boobs dont go massive?! pre kids i was a 10DD, by the time M was 3months old i was like a 10C i was horrified! not impressed whatsoever.. LOVED my boobs lol. i do go to a D while preg but as soon as milk has come in and it all settles they slowly drop back to a C within a couple of months.. its horrible! haha. oh gosh not to mention they also dont sit where they used too! thank goodness for 'water bras' lmao!!

Hello! I haven't caught up yet but I am VERY HAPPY this morning - E woke up for her bath at 5pm yesterday then her bottle & cuddles, didn't go back to sleep until after a bottle around 8.30-9pm which DH gave her as I went to bed then she had a 150ml bottle at 11.30pm of breastmilk & SLEPT THRU TIL 4.30am!!! ............ She DID get up once however but I changed her wet nappy (she'd been trying to do poohs as she'd been grunting for a while Lol & she stank but just farts!) & gave her back her dummy & she seemed content enough & went back to sleep!!! After the 4.30 bottle (she only drank about 90-100ml of it tho) she slept until 8am! .......... Maybe the 150ml of formula keeps her awake but breastmilk makes her sleep? .... OR ... Maybe formula I switched too (I was on Nan1 now Nan 1 HA Gold which is thicker I think) is better for her tummy? ... OR ... Maybe cos she was awake from 5pm to 9pm? ... OR ... Maybe I have been giving her bottles when she doesn't really need them during the night? (Not that she refuses, Lol :) ) ... Did my once per day expressing this morning & will experiment with the 150ml breastmilk at 10.30pm feed for next couple of nights then see if I go back to the formula at that time if she sleeps or stays awake. ... Maybe it was just a fluke! ... Off to catch up now!

Gin, I bath E in Johnsons Baby Bedtime Bath & she smells devine afterwards & I could eat her up! Lol ... Afterwards I massage her front & back with Johnsons Bedtime Baby Oil which helps her peeling skin (unless she is so so starving & is screaming at the top of her lungs!) ... I also have a sample of Johnsons Baby Sorbelene Cream which if I haven't done the baby oil thing I put some on her arms & legs/ankles where she is peeling when i change her nappy. That came in a small sample bag from hospy (not bounty bag - Johnsons bag I think). Hope this helps.

CarrieB thats great, Jacey also slept great last night and went to bed at 9.30pm and woke at 4.30am!! This is the longest she has slept. She had a feed and then slept until 7.20am and then back down just after 8am until 12!! It has been great. I think because I havent been anywhere the last few days she is getting more settled into her sleeping. So she has been waking only once during the night lots now so thats her norm!! Hoping it stretches even further soon. Had mums group herre this morning so that was good. Kids had a ball in our toy room. We used to all meet at the library but we are going to come to my house every week now which suits me better as I much rather stay at home and then I can relax and not worry about chasing after Logan. I gave up going to mums group if I was on my own cause I just couldnt do it by myself (to hard to chase Logan while nursing Jacey).

Off to docs at 3pm for 6 week check.

Take care and hope everyone has a good day.

Hey girls!

Skimmed this morning but cant remember all I read sorry.

Carrie, sounds like you had a good night. We have our witching hours from about 7pm - 11pm most nights.

Leah wakes twice at night still but has been super restless with her cold as she cant breath the poor poppet. Seems to be getting better now but still gets very congested at night as you do.

Had an ok morning today. Leah wouldn't sleep at all this morning which drove me a little bonkers as the HAB was on the line and I had the cleaner starting at 9.30 so had to do some cleaning before she got here (yes that defeats the purpose I know:o ). But anyway, took the kids for a loooonnnng walk to the post box, around the industrial estate then to the park where Sam and I played on the swing and slide (nice to spend some one-on-one time with him) then home again. Both kids are having a nap now and Im trying to get through my to do list.

DH has just sprung on me he has to do a conference call at 8pm tonight, 1am tomorrow and 5am tomorrow. Fun fun. Going to milk that for all I can.:D

My dearest friend is coming for a visit to meet leah this afternoon. Looking forward to that.

Feeling great for getting out and getting some exercise.

As for bleeding, mines kinda stopped. I haven't had to wear a pad for 3 days but sometimes theres a little bit of brown on the loo paper (sorry TMI). Hope it doesn't start up again.

Leahs been really unsettled the last couple of days. Shes going through the crying weeks now. thank god for ear plugs - gets me through the major evening episodes  .

Anyway, things to do.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

I am luckily feeling great. After the third cs I thought this one might take longer to heal but I think it has been the best so far. I was driving four days after and easily bathing the girls and picking them up by day 10, even Ruby who is 16kg. Its been three weeks yesterday and have no pain or aches no bleeding and have started back exercising today. Yahh! I feel very lucky!!

Well the older girls are in daycare today so have got the house back in order from the weekend and hung three loads on the line. Carrie - my OB has always advised that as long as you can brake suddenly you can drive. He just laughed and shook his head at me when I drove myself up to get my stitches out with him 5 days after having Chloe. Someone once said to check your car insurance but ours is ok as long as your dr is happy the insurance comp is happy. I have always driven within a short period of time. I think I would have gone mad if I couldnt drive for 6 weeks!!! Also its just not practical in our house as I have to get the older girls to and from daycare and dancing as well as heading back into work, doing the weekly food shopping etc etc ...

I think Target is on sale until tomorrow or thursday. Well worth going, also Myer had some great kids clothes on sale when I walked through on the way to the carpark.

Weighed Chloe this morning at the child health centre so she is now 3.8kg. She has gained 400g in three weeks so dont think I will keep waking her up for the extra day time feed any more and just see how she is going next week.

I totally get you about the scar, I'm freaked about mine! The actual scar is numb so I'm also worried that it hurts and I can't feel it, and a kind of paranoid about what is happening in my insides. Bluegin.. LOVE IT@! You did a fantastic job.

Did you win?

Very busy.. working etc. aaggh

Toadlet isn't pooing every change now thank god. Got rid of the gaviscon.

Sorry so many of you have problems with your DP/DH's being lazy.
I am very lucky frog helps out so much and does so much housework. Sunday he did three toadlet shifts so I could sleep in and go for a climb.

Thank you kindly for your compliments girls, I'm now as red as Kes's outfit :D
LT-the knit off is still going, no entries listed as yet. Very happy with the sleep ins, I'm a sleepy chicky in the mornings, hehe, and as long as we're in bed Kestrel happily lies there entertaining himself for hours on end (little champion!). The second we get up however... LOL

DH just arrived home and promptly took over anti-crying duties, bliss!

Is anyone putting their babies on a routine or are you just letting them decide when they need to eat sleep etc?

Toadlet had a bed time routine and was sleeping about 5 hours then 3 hours and during the day he would go three hours between each feed.

I've started doing the Save Our Sleep routine and he wakes up heaps earlier than he should for each feed.
Mking me a bit angry.. might just scrap that and have a happy fairly predictable toadlet rather than a fixed routine.

I've got to make mine still for the Sew off!!

I'm just leaving him to demand feed, and try to get him to sleep straight afterwards (as he doesn't really like just being awake, after a little while of holding he gets a bit narky!)
It sounds like Toadlet is fine on his own routine!

He he, I'll post the link once it is up, good thinking, thanks! And you can post the sew-off link when it's up too! Do you know what you're making for the sew off nappy?

 i actually love your name, and the spelling! best that i've seen! wanted to use it for mikaelah but had to accept it wasnt going to happen as i have an uncle named jamie.. he wouldnt have been impressed lol.

Is anyone putting their babies on a routine or are you just letting them decide when they need to eat sleep etc?

nope no routine whatsoever, never even tried with any of them. as long as they learn their night from day im one happy mumma! hehe.
A has already decided i am her dummy.. so she's feeding fairly often during the day but at night she's pretty good. last night was the worst one we've had so far.. i fed her on and off for a few hours.. she ended up sleeping in my bed coz i fell asleep while feeding her.. not good. i still think its a growth spurt.

i cant wait till all the chocolate is gone.. i feel so yuk. i got out for a walk today with the girls so that was good. i just feel so lethargic but its my own fault.. damn easter eggs!

Hey girls,

LT, no routine here yet but I am a routine queen so when Leah starts acting a little predictablyl then we'll work something out. Have implemented the evening bathtime thing though which we did for Sam so :fingerscrossed: that has some effect soon.

Shezi, Leah sleeps with me most nights. Bit of a pain at times but I love cuddling her. Haven't figured out how to lay down to feed. Think my boobs are too big and I'll sufficate her. LOL.

Re the driving after a c/s thing, I thought it was to do with insurance as in you wont be insured if you have an accident because you shouldn't be driving for 6 weeks. Thats what I was told anyway.

Well we've had a good 24 hours or so. Leah actually slept in her own bassinet last night  . She was very restless thats ok - shes still really congested at night. She also went to sleep earlier than normal - 9pm instead of 11pm. She also had a decent nap yesterday afternoon and a 2 hour nap this morning. This is just unheard of. Hope it lasts :fingerscrossed: ......though shes currently performing for DH so I wont hold my breath.

Ok Sydney girls, lets work out this meet. So we've all decided somewhere close to LT - LT, is there anywhere near you that has a park and a cafe (or take away caffine) or anything like that?

Right. Need to go rescue DH.

Hope you have a great day girls.

BG, cant wait to see photos of Kes. Will log onto other pc later. Sure he looks gorgous!

A woman i know just turned up with her (out of control) toddler and he has just trashed the place..after i spent an hour tidying up. This is my only day without Jazz and the last thing i want is someone elses child screaming and going nuts in my house. She even bought Jazzys bike in from outside for him to ride around my house on!
I would never just 'pop in' to vivsit someone that has just had a baby....
Sorry for the pathetic post but im just so annoyed.

Ok.. so toadlet went to bed at 7 last night and we decided to scrap the routine as all three of us were either unhappy tired or hungry.

So canned the dream feed at 10.15 and just let him sleep and his slept 6 hours 20!! YEAH!! That's his longest sleep by 20 minutes so far.

We do the bath time at night thing as always which is nice.

Update on the Poo Issue!! Since we've stopped gaviscon toadlet does one poo a day!! (well two golf ball poos close to each other). Very happy about that. Before the were very wet and yellow and he did about 3 every nappy change.
Still a little girly scream after he's done it but I can handle that once a day.

So now we have the poo thing under control I'm not too freaked about taking him out for feeds etc.

Annsam... There is Rushcutters Bay, green field and I think some swings and slides and a cafe. Lots of mums seam to go there... I noticed that when I was pregnant. It's on New South Head road.

All other parks in this area would have needles and used condoms laying around.

Or we can go to Centennial park. Darling Harbour. (might be expensive for parking though).

Jaime.. that's VERY rude. Tell her to buzz off next time.

Better do some work, I've had a rush of clients and will have to turn down a custom built calculator as I don't have the time.

lovely sleeping toadlet.

Gemma- is it less scary now you've had them before? Or is this just one of the joys! LOL

BG - Yes alot less scary. Because I know what I can and cant do how I should feel etc I each cs has gotten easier and more predictable.

Is anyone putting their babies on a routine or are you just letting them decide when they need to eat sleep etc?

I've started doing the Save Our Sleep routine and he wakes up heaps earlier than he should for each feed.
.

LT - I have found the girls have worked out their own routine quite quickly. We do have a dinner, bath, book, bottle, bed routine with the two older girls every night and Chloe is fitting in with that already.

By the way what is the Save our Sleep routine?

Jaimie - That is so rude!! I would be upset as well!!!

Sydney girls - Rushcutters bay sounds good, what day and time?

no routine as yet here. Rox wakes at (roughly) 11pm,2am,5am. and goes to bed at about 8ish.
Like Gemma's big girls, Jazz has bath, dinner, walk, daddy time, bottle, bed! Abd im hoping Roxy will slip into a similar pattern. She isnt too far off at the moment. Hanging for her to drop a feed at night though!!!!
I wish i lived in Sydney!! Would love to meet you all....hope you have a great time when you finally get together.

And a montage of our little girl that a photographer friend did for me using some photos that I have taken:
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k173/tazzystone/JaceyLee.jpg

Well today has been great. DH let me sleep until 9.20am!! yipee it was so nice. Usually I lay there and cant go back to sleep but today I could've slept all day. Everyone is asleep, have dinner prepped, but lots of other stuff to do. Oh 6 week check went fine. Doctor told me that Jacey has thrush on her neck which is that rash so will see how it goes using canestan cream.

Jacey doesnt have much of a routine as I demand feed and it just depends how long she sleeps for. I do do the sleep, feed, play routine though. I found I couldnt really get into a set routine with DS until he was 6 months old and on formula.

Taryn those pics are gorgeous! Did you really take those ones in the montage?? They are great! logan is such a little cutey!

Just a quicky from me as Amity is in her high chair finishing off lunch.

I had a **** sleep last night as some of our surrounding neighbours had the music blaring all bloody night. I ended up calling the cops but they still hadnt arrived by 12am!! The neighbours always do this. There house backs onto our cul-de-sac so all i could hear was the thumping base all night. Oh, and the lyrics to one of Akons songs!!

Griff was wide awake all of yesterday so he zonked out at about 4pm and pretty much slept most of the evening only waking for feeds. I had finally fallen asleep when Griff woke for a feed at 1.22am and then again at 4.30am and then 7.20 am. Needless to say im buggered and looking forward to an early night. (thank god House and Medium are repeats!)

Oh and I went to get Amity up this morning and when i first walked in i couldnt see her in her room. She was asleep one a cushion UNDER her bed!! I let her sleep, it just means she wont have one after lunch.

Well i had better go, she is squealing!

Sarah, I think when it comes to "love", you can't really get people to see rationally.

I've got a new superduper ergo keyboard that slopes downwards... hard to get used to but was sick of my old one repeating letters etc.

Sarah, if you need to come to my house for a "pit stop" etc after the meet you're welcome. .. and if it rains I guess we can have the meeting at my place.

Taryn, great photos.. a prefect looking family.

Sarah, thats a toughy. Dont think you really can say anything. Shes a grown woman and has to sort through her own love affairs. Anyway, DH and I were engaged within a month of getting together and have been together 7+ years now and married for 5.5 so quick isn't always bad........ maybe this is the one for her?

Jaimie, yip thats definitely rude.

Lovely photos taryn. What a beautiful family you have.

Good but hectic day today. DH has been working since 5am  so its just been me and the rug-rats. They have both been pretty good though.

For the girls with 3-4 week olds (or the ones who have recently had them), do you find they needed 'up time' between feeds? leah wakes, feeds, falls asleep at teh boob but has trouble settling once off the boob so Im wondering if its time to start introducing a bit of play........? (though in honesty, she does stay awake for well over an hour after most feeds). The ECHN doesn't seem to think she needs up time for a couple more weeks but Im not so sure. I have completely forgotten what I did with Sam when.

Anyhow, dinner isn't cooking itself.

Nemosmum I am going through something with my bestfriend (sister inlaw) at the moment too. We just found out at Easter that she is going back to her ex  They have been broken up for 6 months. She has a little girl (not to him) and it was such a messy break up. Things happen which I wont say but anyway it was not an easy time for her. He is manipulative/controlling and possessive, the whole family hates him. he is 22 and she is 27 this year and his age really shows. They have broken up 4 times for the same reason and she keeps giving him more chances. We are actually afraid for her although he has never abused her he mentally does in some ways and he is just "that type" that could crack. I'm going to call her tonight about it as she has not told any of the family we just found out off other people. We love her and will support her but at the same time she cant expect everyone to be happy and welcome him back especially her parents.

I think you will have to let your sister work things out for herself. I know it is hard though. I'm going to be honest with my friend but will stand by her. I dont want her not to be able to tell me things or trust us. Its SOOOO hard, especially when there are children involved.

Thats great Lana, I bet you cant wait. We have finally chosen a house plan but are still waiting for the $$$, which will make or break the deal. I keep wondering if we are doing the right thing though. Maybe we should keep this house!! Have you chosen your house plan?? Make sure all bedrooms are off a hallway or something. DS's room is off the kitchen in this house that we built, which makes it hard when DH is getting ready for work at 4.30am in the morning.

I was driving four days after and easily bathing the girls and picking them up by day 10, even Ruby who is 16kg. Its been three weeks yesterday and have no pain or aches no bleeding and have started back exercising today. Yahh! I feel very lucky!!

Hi Girls,

I'm still around. Hope you are all doing fantastic!!!!! Things have been so hectic around here. DP is on holidays still and we've been trying to get heaps done before he goes back next week. He's been at home for 9 weeks which has been amazing. It's given us a great head start on the bonding side of things as a family.

I know a lot of you are probably thinking that 9 weeks is a huge amount of time and that I am sooo lucky.. and I definitely agree but now I am sooo starting to panic about him going back and me having to care for Chelsea by myself for the 12 hours or so a day that he is at work. He's a manager, so that's why his day is so long. He works one week on days (5am-5pm) and then the next week on arvo's (3pm-3.30am). I am worried that it may affect any routine that we might be trying to set in place for Chelsea in the future. I hope it doesn't just seem like he is coming and going ALL the time. Hmmm am I worrying too much.. ??? I am confident with Chelsea, love her to bits and already spend heaps of time caring for her (of course hehe) but just knowing that DP is at work if I need him and not at a "hollering distance" away, is what worries me the most. Is it normal to be questioning myself and how I will manage caring for her by myself...?

How have all you girls coped when your partners/hubby's have headed back off to work after being home with you for holidays??

I am the first to ADMIT that MOTHERHOOD is the hardest and most challenging thing I have experienced in my "almost" 30 years of life but also THE MOST REWARDING, SPECIAL AND UNREAL THING I've faced.

We should all be sooo proud of ourselves.. So very very proud!!

Lana - Congratulations on the settlement! :yelclap: It's been a long time coming BUT FINALLY!! I remember when our settlement was going through for our house last April (it was an already established house, we weren't building). It took just over 8 weeks but it seemed like it lasted about 5-6 months! Well Done - it'll seem even more real when they start building your dream home!

Tazzy - The pictures are awesome. Jacey is stunning  - such a pretty little girl!

I was sad and sooo sorry to hear about you girls that are having problems with your men when it comes to helping out with bubs and around the house... hmm or lack there of it. Craigs had his moments but only a few of them. If I could send you all a Cyber Nanny to help out with things and to give you a break - I WOULD!

Chelsea had her 6 week ultrasound on her hips today at the Womens and Childrens Hospital in Adelaide. She was born with clicky hips because she was breech and the doctors all told me that they would right themselves because they had improved so much over the first 5 days after birth. The ultrasound went well, Chelsea was sooo well behaved the whole time (what a little champion) but the report wasn't fantastic. They said her hips were okay but they weren't the best hips they had seen and now it was up to the Paediatrician to decide what the next steps are. We are seeing him on the 24th April. He may say that there is nothing that needs to be done, he may say that he would like another scan done when she is slightly older again or he might recommend some kind of treatment...
Here's a picture that shows how her legs were when she was first born, right after they took her out my belly...

http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s262/Scoobstar/Chelsea1DayOld3.jpg

I didn't notice the position her legs were in until Craig showed me the photo on the computer after I got home from the hospital. It's easy to see why her hips might be a tad clicky hey! She seems fine now and no-one would ever guess there were any problems with her hips... but I thought I would share this with you girls, knowing how understanding and kewl you all are! Poor Chelsea! :(

I will try and catch up over the next few days and chat again tomorrow hopefully.

Hi girls,

Having a crappy day already. DH worked last night so woke me when coming to bed at 2am just after Id been up feeding Leah at 1am then she wakes just before 4am and wont resettle  . The last three weeks of lack of sleep is starting to catch up on me big time these past couple of days. Feel like Ive taken too many withdrawls from my 'sleep bank'.

Leahs still congested. Those poor wee sinus'.

Congrats Lana on the property stuff.

Welcome back scoobs. Yes mother hood is incredibly tough and rewarding. Re teh partner going back to work, I actually perfer it because then I can get into my own routine. Congrats on the hip scan. Leah has a clicky hip too but not bad enough to need any scans.

Shezi, sounds like A is a petite wee thing. So cute. Leah is already 53cm. Shes grown 3.5cm in 3 weeks.

Ok, nothing more from me. Need to go get some energy.

Kym - Welcome back babe! That pic of Chloe's legs is amazing! Hopefully she will just need to have another scan later and not need the leg/hip brace (my cousins baby had that). Re Craig going back to work, I was the same as the other girls and was more relieved when Sam went back to work as it meant that i could establish my own routine with both the kids and me. I remember finding it all very daunting when Amity was a bub though. I was petrified of her father going back to work. I was fine after the first week though. Have you joined a mothers group or anything like that??

Thankfully Griffin slept a bit better for me last night. 4 hours and then another 3.5 hours. Amity is still asleep so i am about to head back to bed for a bit. May as well i say!

Lana- congrats on the settlement! How exciting for you.
Shezi- Good things come in small packages right? Except for poison they say...! A sounds like she is doing well.
We didnt bother with announcements..just sent txt messages!!
Well we are having a bit of a crappy one here. Kind of carried over from last night. I really need some more sleep soon. Jazz chucked a huge tanty after we got back from storytelling and i gave her a smack. We have been doing time out/naughty corner for her lately so im so mad at myself for smacking her...so now i feel even more awful.
Hope the bubs are being good today!
Anna- I will be thinkng of you when im up at 1 and 4am...i feel your pain!

Jaimie, been there done that too!! I hate that feeling when you make them cry. We decided not to smack and use a naughty room as smacking made us more upset than him and he started hitting back (I dont want my boy to hit people). But the naughty room really never worked either cause he was after attention and that is what we were giving him so it was getting worse. We just ignore bad behaviour at the moment and he has improved heaps. Its a hard adjustment for them hey. :hugs: I'm sure later on though we will need to use something again, but we will wait a little while.

I hope you mummies who need sleep get some soon. Weekend is not far away so I hope you get a break with hubbys around to help.

I've felt bad the last two nights cause Jacey has woken at around 2am and I just stick the dummy in and she sleeps until 4.30am!! I did have to put it in twice but I was just too tired to feed her and I guess if she was really hungry she wouldnt take the dummy, she would cry. Oh well its working so I'll keep trying it I think (I dont usually use the dummy at night). She then slept until 9am and then has been down since 10am.

How long do you find bubs awake before needing to go to sleep again?? Jacey is no longer than 1.5hrs but I think its more like an hour. That includes her feed time.

Oh guess what, yesterday arv my boob got really sore and BIG lump so last night I massaged like hell in the shower and feeding Jacey off that boob first. Its a little better this morning but I hope I get the blockage away and it doesnt turn into mastitis. I havent had it before - any suggestions??

Scoobs I felt like you do about your man going back to work with my first. Its all daunting and knowing you will be the sole person responsible for your little bub is scary. I thought I would cry heaps but I didnt at all and it was really nice just bonding with bub by yourself. Although I did call DH many times to get opinions on what I was doing. You will be surprised at how well you will cope.

Ok well enough now, best get going. Hubby on his four days off now :smiliedance:

Jaimie I hope that didnt sound bad - just re read over what I wrote and I meant hugs to you not to our kids. I'm sure all of the mums with bubs know exactly how you are feeling. Hope your day gets better.

No! It didnt come out wrong at all! I was fully expecting you all to say what a lousy mum i am so to hear you say that you have had a similar experience made me feel a bit better. Thanks for the cyber hgs too! We might keep trying with the naughty corner as she seems to hate having to go there. She also knows not to move from it when she is seriously naughty, biting Roxy etc.
Hopefully its just a blocked duct and not mastistis. Sounds like you are doing all the right things though. If it gets bad make sure you go to the Dr. Oh and im am so envious of your sleep!!

Well ive had the worst morning ever!
Spent almost two hrs at the docs with Iris as her granuloma (which had almost disappeared) was all red and pussy and about 2 times as big as it was before! this morning.....the docs took a swab of her granuloma to see if its infected, will find out monday!

Then went to the south westie mums meet, ds was an absolute nightmare, he was just in the worst mood possible and ohhh so tired (he chucked a big tanty) so we left at about 10.40am
I only met up with one mummy (thankgoodness as O was a horror!)

Shezi and Lana...Im buying my plane ticket now hehehe Shez M can have O....he was a shocker today:gloomy:  :crying:

Anna.....im having one of those days too hun

Jaimie.....aww hun I really lost it with O today and we were both crying!!! He hasnt had a bad day like this for almost two months I really thought he had matured!!!

Monty is awake from 1 hour to 1hour 40 mins as well.

To Anna and Sarah and anyone else having a crappy day... hope it gets better.

Jaime.. personally I don't think a little smack hurts. If Monty is naughty we will tell him "if you do that again you'll get a smack". and I'll give him a pathetic little pat on the back of the hand!

WHat day is our meet up?

What does everyone do to play with their babies?
We have a play mat with hangy things on it, I am going to buy a little swing with lights etc too today just so he (we ) dont get bored with the one thing).

CAITHI Empty your mail box!!

Scoobs.. I can't belive that picture! She looks like a chinese gymnast. Glad things seem to be ok now though. How did they put her legs back in place?

I showed my DP and his comment was "I know some women like that".. sorry, but it made me laugh.

Toadlet just woke up 40 minutes early. Hope he has one more sleep cycle as he isn't due for his 3 hour feed till 1.

Does anyone elses baby feed that frequently? he goes 4 - 6 hours at night though, but pretty much 3 hours on the dot during the day.

Also his spots have nearly cleared up!! YEAH.

Hi Guys,

Ive missed so much again - tried reading through the posts but eyeballs falling out of head so will try after my nanna nap.

Mark decided that trescillian wasnt for me ( hmmmmm ) so he took me away to the farm. Unfortunately the rest of his family came too but at least anais got to meet some horses and sheep I guess.

Hope everyone had a fun and safe easter.:hugs:

:hugs: to everyone - you have all been so very kind with your words and support.

Caithi,... not sure if I mentioned this earlier, but if you want to come over to my house any day and just hang out together that would be great. I have all the baby things you need here! So Anais can have her sleeps etc as well. I'm sorry I can't come to your place but I'm allegic to woof and meow monsters.

Would love.

I haven't had a chance to catch up yet on the past day or so, but I'll do it shortly!

Hope everyone is going well! I just wanted to duck in & post while I had a spare second so that you don't think I've gone AWOL again! ;)

We just got back from taking the kids to the Dr. Claire had her 18m needle & was very, very good (with the help of a post-shot easter egg!!) and is now at my mum & dad's place for the afternoon.

Owen had his 4 week check-up & he has grown heaps!!! At birth he was 3445g & 51cm, today he is 4790g & 56cm! I'm not surprised really, considering the amount of time he spends feeding & sleeping!

Feed pattern is a bit all over the place during the day but nightly its 3-3 and a half hrs. Sometimes tho she does 8 till 12 which is nice and this morning she slept 3-6:30 so maybe she is sleeping a bit longer stretches finally. Sorry that was me thinkng out loud!! As for the awake time, she has a long awake period between say 5:30 till 8. Thats a bit of a shocker because dinner is happening then and baths. I dont really do much wiht her yet..she just goes in her swing or on her playmat with the dangles...im usually too busy to lay there and play with her...bad mummy that i am.
Sarah- Hope O is better after a nap..dont you hate when they act like that in public??? Very tiring.
LT- I agree a little smack doesnt kill them..doesnt make me feel any better though when she just bawls. I think its more the shock of the smack rather than any pain. Its not like she gets belted! Still i would rather not do it ata ll as she does try to hit me when she is angry and im afraid that she may have learned that from me....not good.

Anna - have you ever known of/heard of a baby who has been born with their legs like that before ... ??? Sorry to hear that you are having a crappy day :hugs: Leah's sinus problems are probably really taking their toll on you..

Got electrician here and he has to kill some power so I gotta go offline for a bit..

Will be back later though to respond to other posts :)

In the morning, Harper stays awake for ages but afternoon/evening, about an hour to an hour and a half.

i had a painful lump too and did the same thing with massage and feeding first and it was fine the next day.

Lt jacey feeds 3 hourly usually during the day depending on her sleep. But by the afternoon though she goes 2 hourly.

Harper too, sometimes less than 2 hours in the evening. but getting 4 hours more often at night now.

DP is on holidays still and we've been trying to get heaps done before he goes back next week. He's been at home for 9 weeks which has been amazing. It's given us a great head start on the bonding side of things as a family.

I know a lot of you are probably thinking that 9 weeks is a huge amount of time and that I am sooo lucky.. and I definitely agree but now I am sooo starting to panic about him going back and me having to care for Chelsea by myself for the 12 hours or so a day that he is at work.
my DH has also had 9 weeks off, he goes back to work next tues. he works week on/week off on a mine so i am going to be 24/7 parent for a week :(

Hi Girls! ... Had my best friend put Ella's online album in my sig so the Easter pics are in there now ... TARYN - The Naming Day pics are beautiful! Luv Jacey's outfit! Where did you get it from? I guess I will have to arrange E's christening soon ... The b&w pics were amazing too! ......... ANNA - I started off lying down to feed right from birth due to the c/s & I found it easier & E liked it better. I have MASSIVE boobs & I just held the top bit down a bit with my finger to keep out of E's nose as I was worried about suffocating her as well! Another thing is roll up a washer & place it under your boob to take some weight - HOPE THIS HELPS! Oh & you will be lying on your side & Leah on hers against you & it helps them (if she can't stay on her side yet) to roll up a cloth nappy/bunny rug or something & place behind her ........... UP TIME - Ella has her morning feed around 8.30am & then goes in her FP bouncer which vibrates & has a bar with hanging toys which she has been in since 1 week old. She loves the toys & bouncer & she ends up having a nap in there while I express and have a shower etc in the mornings. Ella also has tummy time & back time on the WTP play mat on the floor (hanging things too). She luvs it ..... ROUTINE - We sort of have a routine as in bath time at about 5pm (give or take), bottle, cuddles, last few nights E has stayed awake most of time til next bottle. In the day time she has a bottle around 4.30am, last couple of days woken up around 6am, comes into bed with me for couple more hours if we can as DH has gone to work at 5.10am, bottle at 8.30am, bouncer while I express & do housework where she ends up sleeping, and has up time again in afternoon before bath time ............ SLEEPING - Yesterday after a shopping trip & buying winter stuff for E with mum (wish I could get so many clothes for $50!) I lay E in cot for first time & she LOVED her WTP mobile! Decided to put her in cot last night & had THE BEST NIGHT! Unless it's cos she's sick ... Bottle at 8.30pm, 11.30pm, woke at 2am for nappy change, went back to sleep, went in once to put dummy in, woke up at about 4.30 for bottle, went back to sleep (didn't finish bottle & hasn't finished one all day except 8.30 one ...) til 6 & came into bed with me, sleeping until 8.30! Felt good today ... SORRY THIS IS SO LONG!

Forgot to say yesterday E had her appointment at the Health Clinic ... She is now 4kg even! She was 3.5kg at birth, lost near to 10% and gained 60g before leaving so she is doing extremely well! ... She has grown 1cm & is now 54cm, HC is 36.5cm so grown 1.5cm ... Thought nurse would be a bit 'thingy' about the switching to formula thing but was good & am gonna try Karicare Gold next tin as the Nan HA 1 Gold is renound for constipation however I am doing the right thing giving E water once a day in the afternoon for it ... apparently this is recommended for formula fed bubbas ... Anyway, it was nice to know I was doing things right! Felt heaps better! ... We go back in 4 weeks ... Also starting New Parents Group on 29 May (basically Mother's Group) so looking fwd to that immensely ... JAIMIE - What a creative name! ... M2B - Where are you?? ... LANA - Hope Amity is behaving :) ... LT - What's Save our Sleep routine?? ... Wish I lived in Sydney. Maybe we should organise a BRISBANE / GOLD COAST / SUNNY COAST meet up now things are getting into a routine ... ANYONE ELSE BARELY GETTING DRESSED BY MIDDAY due to feeding / changing / expressing / washing up / sterilising/ housework etc? I DON"T KNOW how you mum's with older children do it!!

Hi girls,

Day got better. One of my wonderful friends came over for a few hours which was fantastic. Miss Leah ended up in her HAB which solved lots of issues. My friend cant believe how wakeful Leah is so Im glad its not just me that thinks this. She sat in her arms for 2 hours just looking around when she should have been asleep.

Hey! I just realised my emotocons are moving. They've never done that before. DH really did fix my pc. Yipee for DH :) .

Carrie, thanks for teh b/f tip. I did try feeding lying down this morning and was semi successful. Think its going to take some practice.

LT, Leah feeds every 2 hours or so at the moment but shes breastfed. Sometimes she'll go 3-5 hours but rarely.

Scoobs, thats an amazing photo. Ive seen photos of babies in peculiar positions but haven't had any clients with one to date.

Jaimie, :hugs: . Its an awful feeling when you loose yoru cool isn't it. I can relate.

Think that was it. Just a quickie as Im supposed to be doing my grocery shopping.

Sweet dreams girls.

:hugs: Lana, LT & Sheree - I am hoping that all she needs is another scan as well. I can't believe how relaxed Craig is about it. He says that whatever needs to be done, needs to be done and we'll face it when and if we have to. I suppose he is right but my little head goes 100 m/ph thinking about all the what ifs and buts...

They doc just pushed her legs back down... strangely enough it looks a lot worse than it was I think. She didn't even cry. The only time she cried in the theatre was when they shoved something up her nose to clear the airways up there. I would have cried too if they'd done that to me though.

Caithi - Hope you are feeling LOTS and LOTS better now! If there is anything I can do to help... or you need a friendly ear, I am here - just like all the other girls, I am sure! How is anais going now...?

Going by what some of you have written, it sounds like I should be trying to look at the positives about Craig going back to work ie. I can set my own routine with Chelsea. I guess I have just become so deoendant on him for all his help because he has truely been magnificent with her.

Lana - is Sam Amity's Dad... If it's too personal - then you don't have to answer, I'll understand.. it was just the way that you wrote it.

Emma - Has Cooper had his vaccinations yet? Chelsea has hers in a week and a half and I am petrified for her. I know how much it is going to hurt... 3 bloody seperate injections - that's a bit rough on a newborn isn't it?? lol I guess she will get over it soon enough after we can distract her from the pain. I also have to remember that she might be feeling a bit off for a week or so after the injections - but it's sooo much better that she has them. I would not even think of her not getting them. All the disease going around - it's all sooo yuck and I couldn't put her through that so it's not even a question. Just like her Vitamin K injection after birth. I was all for that because it gave her a big kick start.
Did anyone forego the Vitamin K injection, or did you all get your bubs to have it...
Poor Chelse was poked for heel pricks between 7 & 9 times while we were still in hospital so they could test her blood sugars because she wasn't feeding well for the first 3 days... by the end of them she wasn't even crying she'd got so used to them. Didn't even squirm when they did the *****. What a good baby girl!

Lana - Griffin has been sleeping like Chelsea lately. She has her last feed about 12.00am and is asleep by 1.15am then wakes about 3.45-4.00am and is back asleep by 4.15am. She used to wake around 7am but now she is waking up at more like 6.15am regardless of the time she feeds last. She'll have a feed round 7.00-7.30am and will normally have bad wind until round noon. Bit sad really but there is not much that we can do about it as we are already giving her drops (infants friend) that work really well - sometimes just not well enough :(

Tazzy - Thanks for your soothing advice - you have made me feel a lot better with my feelings towards the transition of Craig going back to work. Isn't is great knowing that you are not alone in your thoughts and there are other people who are going through the same things as you are and that they can offer you great advice. Thank you so much love. Hope your milk bar boobs are feeling better today and that you lump is disappearing. I think that the longest Chelsea has stayed awake during the day is about 3-4 hours... ohh no, hang on - she has stayed awake from about 10am - 6pm before with a 15 min cat nap in between while we were away on our holiday a couple of weeks back, just before easter. I don't think she wanted to miss out on anything - so she struggled and struggled to stay awake. Suprisingly enough - she wasn't grumpy either. Long time for a little bub to stay awake for. Hmmm I was kind of hoping that the reason that she stayed awake for so long for was because we were out shopping and she was getting some shopping tips from Mummy on the sly. lol Little Chelsea will be a shopper.

Apparently Pisceans are born to shop - so watch out Mummies of pisceans

Sarah - How is Iris' ganuloma looking now. Did the doc give you any cream for it to use over the weekend or do you have to wait until Monday whenh you find out if it is infecvted.. poor bubby.

LL - you are in the same boat as me then - we'll have to try and help each other through if we need it!

CarrieB - I had a look through your online album last night. Ella is one of the most beautiful bubs I have layed eyes on - she is a real cutey isn't she. She reminds me of Chelsea a lot hehe Loved all the pics though and I am in the process of adding more pics to my photobucket page - so will put the link up once I have some more on there.. although they are in no particular order.. they are great pics.....

Will let all you girls know when I get her photo album up and running so you can have a squizz at Chelsea.
