Chickadee
Hi, I'm Martha, and I'm a Bubhub Addict. My favorite "must read" sections are the parenting ones, particularly sleeping/settling, and also the Support (depression) section.
I'm married and we have one beautiful 4 year old girl. We also have two crazy hyper dogs. I'm Canadian but we've been living in Australia since 2001, mostly in Perth but just recently moved to Melbourne. I've also lived previously in the UK and in Ghana in West Africa as transfers for work.
Hmmm... what else. I was a geeky science nerd turned engineer, then environmentalist (in the mining industry, kind of a contradiction). And I'm now slowly working towards another job shift towards the social side of things, looking at development issues and the social impacts of big projects like mines and new dams.
Most memorable moment: When my daughter was first put into my arms.
Oldest thing I own: Either my grandmother's wedding band (1920s I think) or my other grandmother's bread & pastry board.
Daggiest CD in my collection: Probably a 5-CD set of opera classics, which I bought just to track down a single aria I love.
Earliest memory: My brother teaching me to tie my shoelaces, using my fathers big black dress shoes. I was around 4 I think.
Reason to smile: My daughter's cuddles.
Age: 37
Time I wake up: between 6:30 and 8am
Oddest thing I've eaten: Tripe. It wasn't nice.
Reading material on my bedside table: "How to teach your child to read" and "Green Eggs and Ham"
