EDD 26.2.07
At 8 days over due (Tues 6th March) i had an internal and was found to be 3cm dilated already.
Went home and had manageable contractions for about 5hrs then they stopped......very frustrating!
At 10 days overdue (Thurs 8th March) had another internal and was found to be 6cm dilated
By this time i was very frustrated and was wondering if my waters were ever going to break!
Later that same day i started having consistent but again very managable contractions
At about 8.30pm i called my middie and organised to meet her at the brith centre at 10.15pm
Arrived at the birth centre, it was lovely and quiet very peaceful (BUT not for long lol)
My middie broke my waters and contractions started coming faster about every 3mins.
Had a lovely hot shower to ease the pain.
After about 30 mins i felt like i wanted to push
Every contraction now had me screaming out a mantra "Get her out!!!" it was not a pretty sight lol
I was screaming like a banshee and inbetween contractions i was gulping bucket loads of water!
I could feel every muscle in my body from my neck to my torso contracting as i pushed her out.
An hour and a half after arriving at the birth centre baby Iris was born.
DH got to cut the cord and was crying the whole time!
Very pleased with my natural drug free very quick (if not painless lol) birth!
Time: 12.15am
Date: Friday 9.3.07 11 days late!
Weight: 4070kg (9 pounds)
Measuring: a whopping 59cm
Hair: a mass of black hair
Eyes: a beautiful slate grey
Skin: very very pink:p
I had a 2nd degree tear BUT was given the all clear to go home after about 5hrs.
We were given some time to rest and get to know each other as a family, bubs bf twice before leaving hospy.
Got home at about 5.40am and DS was awake and watching cartoons, his eyes lit up when we walked in and the first thing he said was "Mummy she come out!" He had a big cuddle of her and kissed her and smelled her hair it was beautiful!
Love being a mum second time round am still on a lovely natural high and am feeling very very blessedValentine
