Hi there,
I was just wondering if anyone knows of a really good sensitive sunscreen, my DD has really sensitive skin and I can't find a sunscreen to use....any suggestions of good ones to try??? I have tried Banana boat, Hamilton, Skin cancer council, and another one that I can't remember the name of all for very sensitive toddler skin, none have worked. Is there a natural type out there??? I hate watching her have a reaction to things.:crying:

The only one my DS isn't allergic to is the 'sunsense' toddler milk.

Sunsense have the toddler milk and also a 'ultra' sensitive sunscreen in a white tube with purple label.
There is natural one which is very expensive but I can't remember the name just now :o It'll come to me....
Invisible Zinc may suit you. David Jones stock a Megan Gale invisible zinc and there is another one I have seen someone use, however I don't know who makes that one.
We use UV Natural:) (Is that the name you were after Mel?) Its quite greasy but worth it as there are no nasties in it:)

I found that the only sunscreen I could use on DD was one with titanium in it.

I know this may sound weird but have you looked into avocado oil -
" Strong UV absorption properties make it an ideal supplement to enhance the activity of UV-A and UV-B absorbers. This reduces synthetic sunscreen concentration, lessens irritation among some people, and enhances the desirability of the product. Among eight plant oils tested and studied for their effectiveness as sunscreens, (including Sweet almond oil, Sesame oil, Persic oil, Safflower oil, Peanut oil, Jojoba oil, Coconut oil, Olive oil) avocado oil proved the most effective sunscreen."
I have read its a good sunscreen for everyday use but not that effective at the beach ect. If you use it everyday and put on a traditional sunscreen when you are going to spend a long time in the sun, the avocado helps to protect the skin from the irritants found in traditional sunscreens. And its also a good oil for people/babies with eczema, (and to keep those wrinkles away for us oldies).
" Avocado oil is renowned for its healing, anti-bacterial, and anti-wrinkle properties."
You will have to do a bit of reading as to what age its safe to use avocado oil. ( I think its 3 months but I would suggest you check that if you want to use it)
I hope this helps -

My baby was born with a very big birthmark that will be removed with laser later this year. In the meantime, the dermatologist suggested we put sunscreen on her while in the sun. He recommended Ego Sun Sense Low Irritant. We have used it on our baby since she was 4 weeks old without any reactions. Hope this helps.
