Little pieces of cheese, carrot sticks, sandwiches cut up, remember no peanut butter, sultanas, little yoghurts whatever u would normally feed him at home for lunch
My girls also like cold pasta, ham, and pre-cut fruit, cherry tomatoes - lots of finger food basically. If you are organised some quiche with vegies in it is also good - lots of protein and calcium and vitamins in one dish. Fritatta cut up also works well.
I generally include the following
MT:
-2 vita-weats or crispbreads with vegemite/avocado and chese/tuna and cream cheese
- fruit (either half an orange and half an apple or pear, or strawberries, or watermelon) I try to always put in 2 fruits.
Lunch:
- sandwich with various fillings... the most popular so far
* egg, lettuce, mayo
*advocado, Mayo and tuna
* cheese and tomato
*vegemite
*jam
*honey
*ham and chese with tomato sauce
OR
- cold pasta salad (the boys LOVE mozzarella, fresh basil and cherry tomatoes)
- spaghetti or pasta (usually from the night before) to be heated up
- container of 'leftovers' :p depends what we had... sometimes couscous with curry, sometimes a fried rice (they love fried rice) sometimes steamed vegies with bits of sausage or something
AT:
- yogurt or custard (something dairy as they don't have a 'day' bottle on kindy days)
- seaweed crackers
- banana 'chips'
- apricot squares
- museli bar (the all natural ones)
Drinks: They always take a popper of juice. ( I use the small 'popper juice' brand as I added up all the percentages and it's 100% juice, and the size is perfect for their lunch box
AND A BIG waterbottle (one of those sipper straw ones) that I half fill with water and half fill with ice in the morning. It always come back almost empty.. and I know they drink out of cups their during the day as well.
I haven't got around to doing the quiches yet... but Ollie loves filo pastry, So I'll have to do something with that.
