I go to a place in Greenslopes that is a sports therapeutic massage place called No More Knots - they don't specialise in pregnancy massage but are all very experienced trained sports massage therapists and have a pregnancy massage table - I would recommend them in a heartbeat. The phone number is 38916555 - they also have rooms in Macgregor according to my magnet on my computer. They charge about $70 an hour and you can claim some of it back through some health funds.

I had massage throughout both pregnancies and after (I go once a fortnight now) and would not survive without them.

Hi oh you poor thing.
Chiro is really safe and I thought they all were doing it, I go often but we hours and hours away from Brisbane. they don’t have to lay you on your tummy or anything. when I have the middle of my back cracked I lay on my back fold arms hold my shoulders and he places one hand over my arms the other under me supporting my back. (that might not be clear sorry).

There’s 2 ciros in Emerald and I have been to both, I really hope I get to go days before bub comes it will be easier in labour having not neck or back pain.

Have you rung any and been told they dont do pregnant mums? I'm just wondering

Hi Moewai,

I've been going to see a Chiro for the last year in Paddington named Sean Healy. He's at the Paddington Chiropractic Centre and I would recommend him to anyone. He's been helping me with my sciatic nerve pain in the last few months and the results are fantastic.
I'm actually a massage therapist myself (chinese remedial therapy or Tui Na) and the thing that you really need to be careful with when you're pregant (re massage) is that there are a few contra-indicatory points that bring on labour so great for when you actually want to give birth but not so great when you're not quite there. There are important ones on the shoulders, hands and the feet. I think you need to be going to someone who's had experience massaging pregnant people anyway. If you get stuck I can always recommend some of my colleagues (or I can do it if I've got the energy!!).
Hope this helps - there's just no reason to be in that much pain - I honestly don't know how I'd be right now if I didn't have help from Chiro and massage!!!

Take care & all the very best
Arna

I use a fanastic chiro at New Farm as well - I had started seeing him before I was pregnant and know quite a few other people who go and see him and everyone agrees he is fabulous.
kaidensmum - is your chiro Dr Leach? If so, Moewai, I would definitely go and see him. He is FABULOUS!!

i used a chiro who practises privatly in Daisy Hill. He charges 30 dollars and is great. I hurt my back at work while i was pregnant and he was worth his weight in gold and got me going again. he also specialises in pediatric chiro and doesnt charge for the first visit (its their birth-day present). His name is Laurence and his ph no is 38082966:)
