chicken pox question??

how long do chicken pox stay in you body?
i know they are contages b4 the spots come out but how long dose it stay in you system???
can things you have around the house infect other people?
Is it best to wash and air everything out?

chicken pox is contagious until the spots have appeared and crusted over. Once they are all dried up they are no longer contagious. Its not air bourne so everything else is in the clear.

Hey Jess, the kids are most contagious in the 3 days BEFORE they come out with spots, which is why chicken pox spreads so easily. But as the other bub hubber sais they're no longer contagious when all the spots have crusted over. A rough guide that doctors give is that this will take about 10 days. Does one of your kiddies hav chickenpox?
