My DD has been with Bambini in Mel for about 7 months and she has had no castings or work but they do send regular e-mails about up and coming events.........anyway I replied to one they were after cute babies so I sent a photo of DS. 6 weeks later they called and asked if I would sign him up with them cause he has a job already with target catalog. Just wondering weather he will get called back?? The shots went well and he was great through-out it. Whats your experience??
Cheers

How do you "just" get asked? Do they walk up to you when your out shopping, or something, or do you actually know someone that is with them?

angelmum have you been offered a discounded rate to join the kids with them?? I paid 400 for DD and she has had no work but for DS they offered a 6 month membership for alot less. Find out the fees first cause I do know of people paying 550 for the year and if you've got 2+kids that would be like 1100!!!
I'm gathering angelmum maybe put her kids in a baby comp or something. Alot of agencies will go to baby comps and pick out new talent for thier agency. Just a guess!!
So has anyone had catalog work before?? Or know of anyone??

A friend of mine had a call a few weeks ago, offering a discount if she joined her son. So they must be doing a ring around or something!!
I agree with putting them in comp's, most take the talent they want from there, that's a good idea! I would have no idea, how to get into cata's??

DD is with a big company and has had a few jos, they called me oneday after she had her photo taken by them at some baby expo or it could have been the easter show  anyway...they called and said they really wanted her and whould i bring her in, so i did, i got another call asking to join, when i found out how much they wanted i said "noway if you want her that bad then yes she can join but i will not be paying, you contacted me not the otherway around...............DD is on their books, they really wanted her, so we talked it over and got a $550 price down to just paying the aplication fee of $35 :yelclap:

hi, no shes not with Bambini.
she hs ahd a few things only one target thing and a few little tings for mags she as in the bmbini mag once, i have to ring her agent tomorrow because they had 3 interviews lined up for this week, but had to cancel because she was ment to have an operation on friday and would have been out of action for 4 weeks, she did not end up having the op, she now:fingerscrossed: will be able to go. they really wanted to see her so she should still be able to get in, i cant remember all of them but one was foxtel, and another was a tv ad i just cant remember what for
good luck with your little one :fingerscrossed: she will get some work soon, same goes for your ds

I'm glad your DD didn't need her op  .
You must be very proud of her. When she was in the target catalog how many outfits did she wear?? Who is her agent?? If you don't mind me asking of course!!
Good Luck with her apps this week :fingerscrossed: for her.
You shouldnt need to pay them to have your children on the books!! No person/child, if ever joining a modelling agency, should have to pay any money.

UUmmm Why not??
I'm not Elle, Kylie, or any other celb.........
They do a portfolio, take great photos, have courses for all ages, represent and safe guard the child.
Anyway Bambini are more than just a modelling agency.
I'm interested in how you came up with that
Is there something your not telling us

sory but i agree, that is why i only paid the aplication fee $35, if they really think your child will get work they wont charge you a huge price, and with DD they have already made the money that they discounted and more so.
DDs agent does pretty much the same stuff as bambini, but they also had just that little more to offer.........ie: $35 instead of $400

flick sorry but you still paid them........ weather it be $35 or $400 it's all money love:rolleyes:

yes i did pay them a small amount, because their was no way i was going to pay over $400.
but it still does not mean that i cant agree with jessi. you should not have to pay them anything but reality is those agents are out their but hard to get into.
as i said i do agree with jessi and i still stand by that, they over charge you when they dont have to...if it over $400 was needed, why do they drop the price for some people ?? why do they charge you less the next year when they still have to re do photos, books, classes everything ?
sorry if i upset you but i really dont like how they over charge, and i think you will find the ones that are free to join still have an apication fee of around $30 to $40 just to cover cost, and even that they are going to get back on you child first job, + more, but at least if your child gets no work its only $30-$40 you have wasted not $400. i really do think it is all a bit of a rip off but i dont mind being ripped by $35
i just think if they really belive your child will get work then they will do something about the price, after all if the child is as good as they make out then they will get their money back in a flash.
mind you we all know our children are the next up and coming, big thing :p

LOL
Money doesn't bother us anyhow, we can afford to do these things. I should say my wonderful Hubby doesn't mind, he's the bread winner LOL.
So I guess if your struggling financial then it would be a problem.

No offence taken :D . I'm also a full time sahm and have been now for about 3yrs. I also do it for something to do/bit of fun. Although now I have 2 beautiful kiddos that keep me busy and I think I'll be even busier soon when DS starts getting about LOL. I am staying home with the kids until they start full time school. Then back to work for me which I'm already looking forward to IYKWIM.

Hi jaasssy82
Just sent you an e-mail.
Goodluck
Well I think if it's something your kids really want to do and you can afford it go for it.
I did modelling as a child and by 13 I was travelling arounf the world because of it. Just for magazine shoots it also gives lids alot of confidence.

I agree about the whole you shouldnt have to pay thing also....
IU have doing this kind of work for 6 years now and I didnt have t pay to join my previous agency and I didnt have to pay to join my new one....
I also didnt have to pay for my kids, my agent said the same thing to me if they think you will get work through them then no money would be necessary as you would get it back...
In saying this though i would pay an application fee cause they are out of pocket mementarily....
Good job on getting your bub in the catalogue..

alot of agencies work with other types of companies also to get children on their books
we have an arrangement with 3 agencies in Brisbane to view our shoots if the parents have signed release forms...we have been doing this for only three months and have had 16 parents contacted regarding their children whom only brought their kidlets in to have their photos taken for their own reasons...although basically the agency contacts us, we contact the parents or forward the agencies details and then it is up to the parents to contact them as we cannot give out personal information.
i also had a lady come up to me in the hyperdome shopping centre handing me a card asking about my now 11 year old oldest boy not only did she scare the life out of me and as spunky as he is he just isnt in to it really hehe. besides there is no way that i would pay for his photos to be taken for his portfolio when i could do myself i told her. hehe.
