Periods When Will I get them???

Hey everyone, Hope you are all good and healthy. I was wondering when I should get my period back. I had my baby nine weeks ago and I stopped breastfeeding 5 days after birth, so I havent been breatfeeding for 8 and a half weeks. When should I get it back??? :confused:

I would have thought you'd get it back pretty quickly after giving up the BF - your'e not preggers again are you! :eek:

Mine took over a year to come back, but I breastfed my bubs for nearly 2 years each. Everyone is different though and your body will return to 'normal' when nature intends.

I'm almost sure my OB said not to expect a period for 12 weeks/?? but everyones body is different...

I got mine back exactly 6 weeks after K's birth, however they are all over the place now :confused:

With both my children, I gave up breastfeeding at two months old and didnt receive my period until two months later when I went back on the full strength pill, so that gave me a period.

Are you on any pill? That can mess things around abit.

If you are worried, I agree about checking if you are pregnant. Atleast it would put your mind at ease.

Hi thanks for the replies. I still havent got it yet, but maybe it has something to do with going on the normal pill, 3 weeks ago. Im going to give it till after xmas then If it doesnt come Ill go t my GP. Thanks for your guys help though.

I can't really remember. I bleed for 5 weeks straight up then I think it was another 5 weeks before I got my period. But it took about 3 months to get back to semi normal (mine are very irregular anyway)

Mine took about 12 weeks to come back & i only bf for 4days or so.
I also had dramas with the bleeding after bubs & with stitches etc so maybe that was why im not sure.
But yeah i would see your doctor better to be safe & check out whats going on.

Hi there, I stopped breastfeeding when Thomas was around 4 months old and didnt get my period until couple months later.

I doubt it if you fall pregnant :confused: , but check with your GP anyway just to make sure.

Hi, I got my period after approx 10 weeks and Logan was only breast feed until about 2 weeks old, so yeah everyone is different.:D
