Hi,
I am moving back to Newcastle after a year away with DP, and we are expecting our first bub in late may. Bub will only be a few weeks old when we move back. Just wanted to see if there was any mothers groups or anything like that in Newy??

Hi Belinda! I'm Kate, age 29 with four kids, and just moved back to Newy in mid Jan. We lived in Melbourne for 2.5yrs but were here before then. There are playgroups all over Newy, I guess it depends which area you're going to. I found that the playgroups nsw website is great coz it tells you which ones are near you. I'm still trying to find one I feel at home in, but I'm up in Maitland so might not be near where you'll be.

Anyway, congrats on your pregnancy! I hope the move goes well!

Hey Belinda. I just moved back to the hunter after 3 years in Coffs harbour. Welcome welcome. I dont know of any "real life" playgroups but I would love to organise something fortnightly for us hunter mums.
We are having a meet on the 30th in Maitland and a Cloth nappy party on the 27th :D
If your interested, one of us yummy hunter mummies will pm you :D

Great, well I would love to meet up with any groups!!

I will be living in at Merewether, but Maitland is so close. After being away in Cairns and driving hours just to see friends for a bbq, 25 minutes up the highway is like going next door!

I am really looking forward to coming back, it will be around end of June.

I have been in Belmont from UK for 2 yrs so quite new. This is a great forum with lots lovely hunter mummies. I am looking forward to the Maitland meet but still trying to find good playgp. If anyone knows of a good one...let me know as will travel up to Newy for it!

I'm mum to a 7 year old boy, 4 year old boy and now 9 week old girl.
You'll love it here on bubhub, very addictive.

I failed with playgroups with my boys, long story but the short version is my main profession meant I had sme conflict of interest but this time around playgroup won't be a hassle as I was in a different area of work before Ariane was born. I'll start the hunt around when Ariane is getting mobile but might do parents as teachers and/or gymbaroo too.

I live at Lake Macquarie. I know of a good playgroup in my area but most of the kids are around 18 months plus at the moment. My girls are now 8 and 5 so not up to date with whats around for babies, but I will have to find out soon as I am TTC#3! Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy and hope the moving experience is any easy one!
