im pregnant i think!

hi just did a preg test and im pregnant. i did 2 tests 2 days apart and its positive. i cant beleive it as we have been trying for a awhile. i have a queie..................can i still travel overseas in my early stage, im flying to singapore and the tickets have been booked? will it harm my baby? please give me some advice. :confused:

Congratulations!

No harm in flying for your bub or you. Just watch what you eat over there, talk to your doc or midwife about that. I went to South Africa for a month when I was 12 weeks. Enjoy your last baby free holiday! :)

I can't see a problem travelling. I just couldn't get travel insurance for pregnancy related problems, that's all. Have fun!!!! :D

Congratulations yep you're fine to fly until about 36 weeks I think I found I was pregnant 1 day before I went overseas lol all was fine, but get an aisle seat you'll need the toilet heaps!

Congratulations Suzanna, thats great news!! :D To answer your question you can fly at early stages of pg. They only worry at late pg around 36wks is when you really cant fly.

Hi,

First up - congratulations!!

Second... my best travel tip while pg (esp in the first 12 weeks) is get yourself a pair of 'sea bands' from the chemist. They are these wonderful little elastic band things that you wear around your wrist - with a small plastic button that presses in on a pressure point. Fantastic for minimising morning sickness!

Apart from that drink a lot of water and of course have fun! :)

thank you for all ur support, u r all darlings:) I went to my gp and he did a blood test to confirm my pregnancy. I get my results tomorrow. He said that pregnancy tests are accurate for a positive result but will still conduct a blood test. im soooooooooo excited, im over the moon1 it is the best birthday gift i have received in my life! He also added that i am able to travel, continue going to the gym etc. I think i am 3 weeks pregnant. I still cant beleive it. i must admit i was rubbing my eyes when i saw the pregnancy test result. i will be asking you all for tips soon like when should i look for a specialist, should i look for a hospital first or specilaist? im taking folica nd iron tablets, do u recommend anything else? i have lost my appetiate and i find food disgusting in the last few days and i can smell fish today and it was only me!

Your sense of smell increases dramatically during pregnancy and you will find some things that usually wouldn't bother you, will smell disgusting now.

You mentioned that you think you are 3 weeks preggas, you take it from the first day of your last Afvist, so if you are 3 weeks late it would make you 7 weeks pregnant.

Talk to your doctor and midwife....I know people who flew overseas in early pregnancy...and it was FINE! :)

Be careful what you eat, and be careful of drinking the water....other than that enjoy!
