We have 3 beautiful boys, the youngest being 16 months. We would love to have another one but have had so many negative comments about having 4 children. My husband and I have been through a tough time this past year and feel that having another child would put the seal on our commintent to one another and our family. But anytime we have mentioned having number 4 we have just received negative feedback.

How did all of you ymmy mummies with 4 or more make that decision, without letting the influence of others get to you?

It wasnt a hard decision here basically we always wanted 4+ kids it was just a matter of checking the finances

We are now going for #5

Our decision was made for us by higher powers. But I wouldn't change it for the world. I never felt complete with just 3.

Our third child is always left out by the older 2, so I am really glad that they will each have a playmate close in age.

But we did always want 4, 3 is just such an odd number.

We were gonna stop at 3 especially after bubba #3 was born with a heart defect. We almost lost him and it was the scariest time of our lives. But time is a great healer and when he was around 2 we started thinking about 1 more. It took about 6 months to fall pregnant with bub #4 which is a long time for me. We just didn't tell anyone we were TTC, we waited until we were already pregnant. I did get a few odd comments from people when I told them I was pregnant like "Are you Happy?" "Was it planned?" I couldn't understand why it mattered so much if it was planned. What difference does that make to other people? At the end of the day it's no one else's business and if you want another bub don't worry about what people think.

Higher power made the decision for us, so we just said "it's ok she's not sick she's pregnant!!" and everyone was so releived that they forgot the sarcastically witty comments about not knowing how it happens etc.

I've been wondering if my thoughts about a sixth or even seventh are because I like having a little person totally dependant on me and having someone that my day revolves around.
I absolutely love being pregnant and feel jealous(in a nice way) of others bumps cause it makes you so special. Maybe this shows my insecurities though as a person people can like for me rather then as a pregnant woman or mum with babe. Have some major trust issues that I am dealing with.
Just a thought anyway as I too am in a dillema(sp) over will I, won't I. My age is starting to go against me now so that puts a bit of pressure on me to make a decision as well.
