How can you tell? (TMI?)

I know this is a little gross, but I'm wondering how can you tell if you've lost or losing your "mucus plug". I have only got 1 1/2 weeks left to go & the past few days I've noticed excess discharge (sorry tmi) in my nickers. There is not pink or blood stain just yellowy i guess. I dont know!! I'm hoping though! I dont recall actually "losing it" with ds either....

Hi,
I remember when I was close my discharge got heavy and yellow, But my mucus plug came out while in Labour it was a big bloody/brown piece of mucus. I hope this helps, sounds like you are getting close though. Good luck with your birth!!! :o

Towards the end my discharge was quite heavy and I had to wear panty liners. My plug came away with my first it was kind of clear jelly blob about the size of a 50c peice and it had some pink tinges to it.

Ok so it sounds like it's not actually the plug then... bummer!! It must have come out during labour with ds coz i dont remember it at all!!

fingers crossed it's soon for you!!! Everyone I knew who was having their second bubs, when I was preggie, went early. I went 5 days over - again!! :eek:

I dont think I will go early..... I have a sneaking suspicion (sp?) that this baby will arrive on Christmas day !!! :eek: I just know... it's truly my luck He he he!! I went 2 days over with ds, so I'm kind of expecting to this time aswell.... however early would be nice :rolleyes:

I think it would be pretty cool to have a x-mas day bub. Imagine the excitement in the lead up to x-mas. It would be huge.

Yeah mine slowed a few weeks before & then got really really heavy like jelly similar to what i would have when i would ovulate so would wear panty liners. Then a few days before i went into labour i had my show which was triple the amount tinged with a little blood so was slightly pink. This carried on for a few days before contractions started was fun not :o

When it happens you will know as it is something completely different to normal discharge.

With DD#2 i didnt even lose my plug,my waters just broke 2 weeks early and had my lil girl in my arms 4 hrs later.

I didnt loose mine until I was in labour and they gave me an internal to check how dialted i was - In my case it was pretty blood stained and there was quite a large amount which did have a jelly like look. Youll know when it happens its not like a heavier normal discharge...

Mine too had a jelly like look with only a lil bit of blood i just rang the hospital & they made me feel much better.
i gave birth a couple of days latter.
