Now I have been through teething before, so you'd think I would have a clue hey
Any way since Friday Ella has had runny poos (like really runny) that if I dont change immediately she gets this nasty rash that she screams to have wiped. Its like a burn. And cream on well she really SCREAMS ( I use either aloe vera or pawpaw ointment). :(
I think she is teething because she is chewing on everything. I think its her eye teeth. I know they were the worst for Connor.
I just want to see if others have experienced the runny poos & bad rash.... or should I take her to the doctor?
TIA
She has had bad rash with teething before, but its the poos I am concerned about.

My daughter always gets awful runny poo's when teething, really acidy and smelly and a bad rash, but clears up as soon as the teeth break through. I would only take her to a doctor if gets really bad or doesn't clear up soon. Just keep up fluids and cream on the rash and she should be fine;)

My DS just had this as well. He was teething, but he also appeared to have had a touch of a bout of gastro. My friends DS got the same thing the next week but along with the runny poo nappies also had a couple of vomits.
It lasted about a week for my DS and the chemist recommended to me to try and give plain foods such as toast or rice cereal for a couple of days, and even cut out dairy as that can make it a bit worse if they are already sick.
My friend got the same advice from her doctor.
(I didn't cut out the bottles as DS NEVER would have made it through the days without his milk, but did just give him plain foods for a couple of days - mainly toast)
Amolin Nappy Rash Cream helped a lot for us with the sore bum for my DS - well it seemed to anyway!

Thyanks guys. The rash generally clears up pretty well if I keep on top of the nappy changing. And keep up with the aloe vera (it works the best for us).
Might try the plainer foods.
I hope they cut through soon. Those eye teeth are nasty. She cut her molars no problems... go figure.....
Layla also has really bad wind and some vomiting. She is off her food and milk as well. The poor thing is getting about 6 teeth in total (that I can see). She is almost 11 months old.

Hi guys
It's good to hear all of your comments as my LO is going through the same thing at the moment. We have been dealing with a really bad rash for over a week and today has been bad for runny poos. It was good to read what Sueliz wrote about maybe cutting down dairy during this time... I have been feeding my LO a bit too much of it as yoghurt and porridge seem to be her comfort foods and the only thing she will definitely eat at the moment. I will try plain stuff for a few days.

Since Friday, my bub has had the runs and a big red rash on his butt. Took him to the doctor today thinking that it could just be a virus, and she said that there was a health warning out that a parasite was going around (the only symptoms are the runs, my bub has been happy, eating and drinking and sleeping normally.) Anyways, I hadto give her a sample of his poo to send off to the lab to test. If it comes back that it is this parasite, he will haveto take antibiotics.
Never would have put his symptoms down to teething, but his symptoms are exactly the same as the OP described. Just keep in mind that it COULD be gastro or other things other than teething

Thanks for your post... may I just ask where abouts you live?
Cheers
We also sent a poo sample just in case. We should get results either today or tomorrow. I hope its just teething nothing else. She seems to be getting better though, she ate quite a a bit yesterday, still runny poos but no vomiting.

Hi
I really feel for you - we had similar experiences with our first three boys but then found out about the amber teething necklaces. We bought our from www.amberbebe.com (http://www.amberbebe.com).
Our fourth was cutting teeth at 3 months and so we tried the necklace - awesome is all I can say. He still slept through the night - nappies were a little runny but not rancid, and he was happy through out. At 17 months now he has just cut 4 molars simultaneously - no flushed cheeks, no drooling, no nasty naps, and still slept through the night.
amberbebe.com gives you all the detail on how they work - there are lots of copy cat sites who offer split amber which isn't any good but amberbebe.com seem to have the real deal. Good luck. It worked for us.
