Hey guys...

my little man started to get spots on his face- mainly on his cheeks (like little tiny pimples) at about 1 1/2 weeks old - I though it was heat rash ... but the CHN said that it could easily be a hormonal reaction to the breast milk..

HOWEVER - it is now all over his head... on the top of his shoulders and starting to go down his back!! my friends who had bubs at the same time .. also had spots - but they have all cleared up and definately didn't spread as far... (sad mummy :( ) - the spots aren't all red (some are) - they are just little bumps on his skin...

WHAT IS THIS???? HOW CAN I FIX MY LITTLE MAN???? :(

it cant be a reaction to soaps etc - cause in the bath we are just using water to clean him..

it cant be a reaction to detergents... cause I am still using lux on all his stuff..

help??? is it normal??

all opionions appreciated...

Hi Veve

One of my babies had milia ... the little white bumps generally on the nose, cheeks and chin.

The other had baby acne which spread to her head, neck, chest and back. It sounds like your little man has this one.

Don't squeeze them. I used sorbolene when bathing. The heat would also exacerbate it.

From memory - it went away in a few weeks.

cheers, deb

My DD had "baby pimples" for the first few weeks, but they were only on her face. I would probably just pop along to the GP if only for some reassurance, which can mean everything sometimes!
Sorry I'm not much help :o , but I hope someone else here on bubhub has gone through the same thing and can tell you exactly what it might be.

Hi
Please don't worry at all about it.

Both my DDs had baby acne (theres a technical latin term for it that means exactly that - baby acne  ). It arrived a little later with mine (I think) and was gone within a month (I think). I think at least one of my girls had it on her chest. (you can see that it wasn't traumatic - I can't remember ANY of the details)

All babies are different - so it takes longer with some. And I don't think there is anythign you can or need to do about it. IT's prob not even bothering him.

Cheers

My DS had this but only on his face.
My nephew had it all over his chest and everywhere and my SIL's GP said they will go away, just to make sure they didn't get infected.
See your GP for peace of mind if you like. Might reassure you a little. ;)
