View Full Version : Teething rail for Boori cots
I've seen a few brands of cots that come with a plastic strip to protect the cot from teething marks. I haven't seen any on the Boori cots, but was wondering if anyone knew of where I could get one that would fit the Boori cots, or anything anyone has done to protect their cots?
*bump*
I'd like to find this out to as we are also getting a Boori cot and would prefer not to have little teeth marks in it! :p
I've replied to a similar thread previously about this. I had the problem of little chompers on the side of the cot too. I went in search for some teething rails for our cot. I was told by a particular baby shop that unless the rails come with the cot, it is illegal to sell them as they do not comply to safety standards. However, I have seen some for sale once on their own in toys r us. (Just a generic brand - not specifically for Boori cots).
If I were you, I'd ask around at a few baby shops to see what they say.
In the end, I didn't find rails that fitted our cot securley & safely, so I personally just started making sure I remove my son from his cot before he is in chomping mode :D .

I don't have a Boori cot but know what you mean as my DD took lots of paint off my white cot with her teeth.
At the time I didn't know you could buy a teething rail, but the other day at Babies Galore Keperra while doing a bit of shopping for this new bub I found one. it wasn't dear and fits very snugly to the cot rail, so I think the baby would have to be quite big too be able to pull it off.
It's made out of soft plastic too just in case bub bumps head.
Hope that helps you.

My friend wrapped a bandage around the top rails of her DD's cot to stop her from chomping down on the wood.
We have a boori cot too and DS is chomping down on it. Any luck on finding one for your cot chicken? The bandage idea sounds brilliant. Will try that if we can find a suitable one.
I bought my cot from Babyland and they have teething rails there which are a generic brand but fit the Boori cots.
They have a great store but an awful website so I cant find the teething rails on there.
Maybe just pop into a couple of shops and ask them. Such a shame to ruin beautiful wood.
We made a padded bumper that matched the bedding, that wrapped around the top piece of the wood and it looked brilliant.
I too was told they dont sell them, as they are not safe, but did see some on ebay a while ago. They were dear though, so I never bothered. The bandage idea sounds great for that teething stage.
http://www.muffetskidz.com.au/ This place sells cot rails, got one myself, also they do several colours to match your cot, its all safe products and protected my cot very well, and quite cheap too, hope it helps.
