 Hi I am new to the site.
My wife and I had a miscarriage in July last year (at 12 weeks) she had a D&C. We have been trying to conceive since then with no luck. The first time we fell pregnant the 2nd month.
Our Gynecologist is now sending M to have her tubes checked to see if there are any blockages. We have had all the tests under the sun, sperm etc all is well. M is 35 now and the Gyno says that we should look at IVF in about 3 more months.
What do you all think???????
Should we just keep trying or go down the IVF road or is there something else we can do.
Thank you

Paddy, so very sorry to hear about your m/c. I thought that usual rule of thumb is if a couple has been trying for 12 months or more without success then they should start looking into assisted conception.

My DH and I had been trying for more than 12 months before we decided to embark on the IVF road. We first went through 3 cycles of IUI (interuterine insemination) before we went onto IVF. I am so very glad that we did as our first IVF cycle has resulted in a pregnancy. IVf is expensive financially and can be a very emotional rollercoaster. But I would pay the amount that I did 10 times over and go through all the ups and downs again just to have a baby of my own.

The end decision is yours if you want to go ahead. It may be useful to talk to a fertility specialist and get as much info about the IVF process as possible. That way you can make an informed decision on what to do.

Good luck and all the best for the future.

Ivf is a hard journey but well worth it there are other options you can try first like artifical insemination if your sperm is okor maybe getting a tablet to help your wife ovulate more eggs like Clomid as well just to give you a better chance.
I would see if your wifes Gyno could refer you to a fertility specialist to see what your options are before you make a decision.
