Hi everyone
I just wanted to intoduce myself to the 'Due in July' club. According to my OB I am due July 26 2006 :) i am 30yo and have been married to my highschool boyfriend for nearly 9 years.

From the title of this thread you probably have guessed that i am a type one diabetic. I have been T1 for about 12 years. This pregnancy was soooo planned I feel like I have been pregnant for years! Feeling a little bit anxious about pregnancy. I think when you already have one problem that makes you a 'high risk' pregnancy  that is probably expected. But so far that part of life is under control.

More distressing to me at the moment is that I have been having very small amounts of brown discharge. Once yesterday afternoon and again this afternoon. Today I called the midwives at the hospital I am booked into and she said it can be quite normal. She said that unless I get pain or the colour / quantity changes not to worry. Does this sound like good advice? My other symptoms have not changed. I still feel pregnant.

Anyway... good luck to everyone. Hoping we all sail thru to glorious new beginnings in July.

Hi Diabeticmum, congratulations and welcome to "club July".

My midwife is a type one diabetic, she couldn't attend my first birth as she was getting an insulin pump put in that day. (but she did visit me even though she was a patient in the same hospital) We are both looking forward to her being able to attend this birth, as shes more "under control" now.

Keep looking after yourself, hope that discharge disappears, and enjoy being pregnant, it is such a special time of your life.

cheers

TS

Thank you TinyStar. I also have an insulin pump and it is great!

Unfortunately it was confirmed on Thursday that I have had a missed miscarriage. It looks like my baby stopped developing a few weeks ago.

My husband and I are doing OK. My OB does not think my Diabetes had anything to do with it because i have really good control. Just one of the unlucky ones I guess.

Anyway thankyou for your message. Hopefully I will be back on another thread soon.
