Not from Hobart OBGYN - can't deal with the reception staff or the obs there.

Cheers,

Sue Keating from Calvary rooms was great

How far along are you though?
Pretty sure she is booked up nearly 9 months in advance

I saw Dr. Sam Campbell when I was pregnant with my son. He was really good but wasn't there for the birth which annoyed me to no end.
He is on the corner of Macquarie and Argyle streets near the Mercury building.
Not sure on the cost as my GP referred me to him so they bulk billed to Medicare.
My sister also saw a Dr. Jamie Brodribb at Calvery but I'm not sure if he is still working there as this was 7 years ago so he might have left.

For my first two I saw Dr Steve Sonneveld for my first two and he was absolutely wonderful. He doesn't muck around at all and he's always got time for you. He also does ALL his ultrasounds at his clinic, including the 18-20 week scan, and sometimes does his bloods there too - he does for me because he know's it's easier to just get it done while I'm there than to take 3 kids to Hobart Pathology or to get them looked after.

With our 3rd we saw Dr Lisa Turner, only because at the time, her offices were at the Hobart Private Hospital which made it easier for my hubby to come to the appointments, however, just before my first appointment she moved to out near Calvary. It was so difficult to park there and I was walking in the rain with two little kids, also, she didn't really open up til about 20 weeks or so, and I so wished we'd gone back to Steve. Lisa wasn't there for the birth because it was her weekend off :banghead: now THAT really annoyed me. Steve however, often relieves other ob/gyn's at both Calvary & Hobart Private.

Now with our 4th (and last!!) we're back with Steve (who's office is just off Augusta Rd) and we're really happy. At some appointments we've brought all 3 kids and he welcomes them and always treats them with lollies from his lolly "bucket"!! He has 7 kids of his own so I KNOW he's in the right business!

He was present at the birth of my first - I had been induced but it was taking forever so after 18 hours he walked into the room and said, RIGHT! You've had enough! Let's get this baby moving! 15 mins of prep and then 15 mins later (with forcepts and 3 pushes) Chelsea was born.
He arrived 2 mins after my 2nd was born because she was born so quick (and he did pretty well, arriving 10 mins after being phoned at 1am!)

Sorry for harping, but I simply cannot recommend him enough. He's wonderful, the staff at his office are wonderful, my whole experience was wonderful.
Feel free to pm me if you have any questions! :hugs:

So sorry that happened to you Kristy, sometimes that happens. The Dr either has a scheduled day/weekend off, or he's busy with other things etc. Then there's other times when us preggy mummies are left sitting in the waiting rooms of their clinics waiting for appointment while he's out delivering a baby! I've been caught twice and I always just chant to myself, that could be me, that could be me! And I'd rather he drop everything and deliver my baby than to be taking appointment! LMAO!

I have to say that Steve is good too as is Jamie.
Have seen both and they are great doctors.

I found hobart obgyn fantastic, all the staff was wonderful and always nice. I coulnt ask for better service. Dr Reynolds was fantastic, and my husband really liked him too. :)

I agree Kezza. Dr Peter Reynolds is a real sweetheart and I would go back to see him tomorrow (if I get a BFP next month I just might). I actually found all the Drs there to be fantastic. I have seen them all over the years for one thing or another and have no complaints whatsoever. But that is me :D
