Hoping someone out there can help me.My wife has had a death in the family, and is staying at her mothers for about a week with our daughter. which is fine, but, for some reason (and please don't think badly of me) I can't seem to work out who I miss more, my wife or my daughter. I realise how terrible this sounds, and I love both of them more than words can say. I think this stems from our situation where we don't see each other a lot. When I get home from work, my wife leaves for work.. What I am really wondering is, is this a common thread among other fathers out there? And, if so, how do they keep their relationship moving along at full speed? What do you do when work starts to take over your lives like this? Thanks for your help,Scott
As a mum butting in here, let me say that if my DF took DD away for a week I know I'd miss them both but I'd be missing DD more! I love my DF and know I want to spend the rest of my life with him but DD is my flesh and blood and I see her more than DD. I miss her if she's gone from me for an hour and I cope all day just fine without DF around.
Sorry to butt in...
I yet to experience this but hopefully I can give some advice. My wife is a qualified hairdresser and she has her own small business on the side while I am in the steel industry. We have both agreed not to let work get in between us, I use to work 10-12 hours a day 6 days a week. Our son is 1 month old and he will need both parents to be there and my wife will need me to be there. Now work is second on my list and my wife and son is first.
Another thing is you and your wife need time out … when our son is asleep we sit up and watch a DVD and snuggle up or chill out and talk about what is on our mind.
What ever you do don’t let work take over it is not worth it, you might regret it later.

This is probaby old, but...
Whenever my wife and child leave for abit (She went to rockhampton for a week or two awhile back) I cant eat or sleep, i miss them so much.
Now im in canada, and they are in Aus... and it feels like the end of the world.
I dont think its wrong to miss your wife like that.

My wife says I'm a 16 year old girl hehe.
Whenever shes away from me, im an absolute wreck. what upsets me though, is people telling me im wrong, or asking what id do if she died. Its love, i thought this is how its supposed to be? if my wife died, id be wrecked for along time, id take care of my lil girl sure, but id be so lost.
