 Hi. I would love for my very cute son to do some model work too, but it seems they are not considered until they are size o, or are six months. Check out http://www.alliance.org.au/rights/agents/vicagt.pdf for more info.

Check your local paper. Thats where I used to find ads for comps in local shopping centres. Beware the mums who take it VERY seriously!!

:) I have been searching the web trying to find new shows to take my 13mnth grl to, I haven't had any luck yet. I have taken her to 3 so far though it seems as if they are hard to come by due to the negative reflect from certain individuals. Which once you find one and mention it you will recieve many coments, but if you and your child have as much fun as I do with my girl then just ignore it. If I come across any I will post it for all who are interested.

Hi there

I have two numbers of women who hold baby shows around melbourne. First number is 9727 3047 and she will tell you when the next shows will be held. There is also another number 0419 552 107 but this lady will apparently not be back until the end of May. The next baby show being held through her is at Stud Park shopping centre Rowville May 25th. Her name is Roselea.

If you discover any other shows around the area please email me.

I just went to one today at Epping Memorial Hall on Findon Dr. It was called Champion Baby Show. I went to one a couple of months ago and my dd won a few trophies so they sent me an invitation to come and compete in the Champion of Champions  anyway she didn't win this but we still went home with a couple more trophies from the Novelty section. It's great fun, I'm hooked but it can get expensive coz it's from $3 - $5 for each section.
Call this no. to get more info 93178169, I don't know when the next one is on.
But watch out for the "stage mums" who take it very seriously..........and one of the judge (I think she may be the organizer) is a little prejudice towards Asians  other than that it's a good day out with your babies and friends!

There's a baby competition at Cranbourne Centro Shopping Centre. Girls- Thursday 14th Sept ; Boys- Friday 15th Sept @ 11am - In front of Harris Scarfe. I went to one @ Stud Park the other day and my son won 2nd in "Mister Muscles" & "Most Appealing".. there were 100 babies there! The judge seems a little biast towards some kids but don't worry.. It's just for a little fun.. Watch out for the stage mums... THERE'S ALOT of them.. Anyway Good Luck!!! Hope i helped a few of you. :D

 I went to the one in endeavour hills last month and it was very busy with 70 entries at least.. A lot of mums got very nasty and some were swearing their heads off about about who had won.. This has been my worst experience of over 5 baby shows I have been to. Just a warning. All the other shows were run by rosalea as well...

goodmummy
25-10-2006, 14:37
Hi Shelby 67,
yes it is Gladstone Park Shopping Centre.
The address is Gladstone Park Drive, Tullamarine Vic. It's off Mickleham Rd.
Turn off where it say's Melb Airport, i think that takes you to Mickleham Rd. I just checked the Melway's on the net. Last time i went i got lost, but appartently it's really easy to get there." I have no sense of direction, i'm hopeless at Melway's".
To answer your question, no your baby is not to old.
They have sections up to 4 yrs old. Also if you like bring a photo, i think they have a section that cost 3 dollars and they judge the photo. Don't bring a professional they prefer one taken by yourself.
O'k so we will meet at 10.30am in front of the CBA BANK INSIDE THE COMPLEX. GIVE OR TAKE 5 MINS. Let me know, hope to see you Friday. By the way my name is Joanne.

:smiliedance: ORANGE SEMOLINA CUSTARD

This is a tasty treat that doesn't contain too much sugar. It also provides your child with a good source of calcium and iron.
Makes about 1 cup.
Saucepan method.
1 cup (250ml) prepared Karicare Follow-On formula or Toddler Milk or standard milk
¼ teaspoon finely grated orange rind
1 ½ teaspoons sugar
1 egg yolk*
1 tablespoon semolina
¼ teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
1 tablespoon fresh orange juice*

In a small saucepan, heat ¾ cup of the milk with sugar and grated rind, stirring often with a wooden spoon, until almost simmering. Remove from the heat.
Beat or whisk remaining milk with egg yolk and semolina. Stir this into hot milk (use a rubber scraper to ensure all semolina mixture goes in).
Return pan to heat, stirring constantly, until custard comes to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer, stirring for a few more minutes until it thickens slightly.
Remove from heat - it will thicken more on cooling.
Let stand for 5 minutes before adding (optional) vanilla. When cool add orange juice.
Serve cool, as is, or with fruit.* For babies over 12 months, use 1 whole egg instead of egg yolk. Add 2 tablespoons of orange juice.

HOPE YOUR LITTLE ONE'S LIKE IT, FOR AGES 9MTHS & OVER !

There's one on Monday 4th Dec at Bulleen Plaza, starting at 11am. I've never been to a baby show before so have no idea what they do there, but am taking DD along before she gets too old!

Do I have to dress her up?

goodmummy
04-12-2006, 21:59
:barf: Hi guy's,
wondering if anyone went to the baby show at Bulleen Plaza today. It was a pretty crappy baby show. Very disorganised and they had no room to move. I will never go to one held there again. Also they gave most of the tropies and ribbions to the people they knew on a one to one basis. They make you pay to enter your child in different one's and i know for a fact that my son was the only boy in the 6 to 12 mths, but he didn't win that section. So why did i pay extra to put him in. Go figure. There were a lot of Toffy Nose women, i don't know why?, we weren't in Toorak, only Bullen.
All i can say is, i'm happy it is going to a charity!!!!!!!!!!!

Wishing you all a Merry Christmas & a Happy & safe New Year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:xmas:

PS. JUST WONDERING IF ANY OF YOU MUM'S WANTED TO EXCHANGE SOME BABY RECEIPES?, LET ME KNOW. WE CAN SHARE RECEIPES AND IDEAS!

mum2paige
05-12-2006, 21:42
I went to that one goodmummy. (I'm not a toffy mum!) It's the only one i've been to, but my friend said that it was **** compared to the bigger ones.
I agree, it wasn't well done at all and ended up costing a fortune... I hope they made a lot for charity.

(PS - where was your bub hub ribbon?!)

goodmummy
06-12-2006, 13:25
I didn't say you were a Toffy Mum!
 Sorry if you took it personally.
I said there were a lot of Toffy Mum's, not all!
However, that was my observation, maybe i was right, maybe wrong, who really cares?
Infact i meet some really nice mum's, and we had a good old chat. My son won some Tropies and many ribbions. I just thought that it was a bit bias, and the other women i spoke to also, thought that. I don't want to sound like a sore loser, because no one is a loser. Everyone's
child is beautiful and special. It's all about having fun, once you stop having fun you should stop going.
I will continue to go, but not to one's held by that lady. I like the one's held by Rosalie.
Each to there own, i say.

Anyway i hope you all have a wonderful X-Mas & Happy New Year, with your little bundles of Joy:reindeer:

mum2paige
07-12-2006, 07:15
Nah, didn't take it personally! :D

I haven't been to any of Ros' ones, but would like to go to one if there's any in the northern suburbs. They have to be better than Bulleen!

Congrats to your little boy as well! It's funny that your boy was the only boy in 6-12mths and didn't win, when my friends daughter registered in the 2 - 5yrs they said she was the only one, and she didn't win either!!

Hi, new to this forum but found it when searching for baby shows online.

It seems a pity that there is no centralized information on baby shows online for parents.

I have called the lady named Ros and she has given me the following info on some shows coming up.

Sunday 14th 11am: Sunshine Plaza.
Thurs 18th 11am: Federal Square, Altona Meadows.
Tuesday 23rd 11am: Caroline Springs Square.
Friday 26th (Aust. Day) 11am: Epping Community Center (378 Findon Rd).I have posted these dates on the community calender.

Here are the numbers so far posted on this thread listed here for convenience:

Ros: 03 9317 8169
0419 552 107 and 03 9727 3047Also the website mentioned was:
www.kidzexpo.org (http://www.kidzexpo.org)

Were there any other contact numbers of people hosting baby shows that people could please post please? Thanks.

Anyone know of any baby shows anywhere from Bendigo, Shepparton, Broadmeadows, Greensborough at all? I would imagine the shopping center baby shows would be run to a higher standard, so these would be preferable.

Also, if anyone has found any Victorian baby show information on the web, would you please post a link also? Thanks.

Thanks again!

Hi we have entered our daughter in a few competitions last year. They were at Endeavour Hills Shopping centre, Langwarrin shopping centre and Stud Park in Rowville. I wouldn't recommend Stud Park but the one at Endeavour Hills and Langwarrin were excellent as they were run by the same people and the money went to the Epilesy Foundation. Competitions ranged from $2 to $ 5 and I think about $10 if you wanted your baby to be judged in the final in their age group, there usually is a photo competition as well for a few dollars.
We loved it and it can be quite funny watching the mums and grandmas take it very seriously. Our beautiful bubba did very well, She won her age group every time and after 4 comps we came away with over 20 sashes and 12 trophies. At one of them she was crowned Princess of the year and Baby of the year!!!!
How cute, but the good thing I liked about these particular shows were the judges made sure most people got at least one award and they were friendly too.
Anyway we have retired her now at 7 months!!!:yelclap:

Hi

I was wondering why baby shows are so hard to find in the eastern suburbs?

Why arent they advertised more freely.

I know a couple of woman who organise them but everytime i want to go to one of their shows i have to call them and they arent close as I am in Croydon.

Is there an easier way to find them PLEASE HELP.

hi,
I use to take my 6month old daughter to the cerable pausey legue ones, just contact them direct they do one a week around brisbane, but be warned it can be quite competative and can really addictive and expensive competions start at $50 for the day to $190, and you need to buy raffle tickets, that are some times over rated to impress judges so your child can win the trophy, that can be sold back to the legue/recycled,but they can be a bit of fun.

OMG, am so excited about a real live pageant!! :yelclap:
Have been obsessed with them since 'Painted Babies.' Loving 'Toddlers and Tiaras' too! Thinking we will give the manicure, spray tan and fake teeth a miss though..
Will definately be there, not sure what a 15 month old will do for a talent though? Pick her nose?

Hi everyone!

My name's Marian and I'm a media student at La Trobe Uni. I'm really interested in pop culture and am looking to interview some parents about their journey with the Little Miss Bayside competition mentioned above.

Anyone who would like to be interviewed just DM me - it would only be audio (I'm a radio major). I'd love to hear about the process and the lead up to the big day!

Hope to hear from you soon :)

Me too, I am really finding it hard on upcoming shows etc especially on the net, we don't get the local newspaper so I can't go looking through that.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
