Hi Guys, I have a quick question, for the last week DS has constantly had the absorbtion crystals from his nappy on his bum. I thought I had a bad lot of huggies I was using , but my regular Coles nappies are also doing it. I change him regularly, I am not doing anything different, but at every change they are there.
Is this happening to anyone else, any clues? Thanks Kez
I went through this a while back with Babylove,I coudn't work out why either.Bad batch maybe?
Anyway I complained to the company and they sent me a jumbo replacement pack. :D
I'm now using Woolies home brand and they are fantastic!
That used to happen to my son as well. I never thought about complaining and getting freebies though - great idea!
I noticed he would get the crystally things on his bum more if the nappy had been on a long time (like after a long nap) but if you change regularly maybe it is just a bad batch?

Hi Kez,
which Coles brand do you use? I use the "savings" brand and have never had this problem - I bought some Huggies a couple of weeks ago ( to reassure myself that I wasn't missing out on anything - ha what a joke! ) and had those crystals everywhere!!

Hi Nickster,
I have been using the coles brand not the blue and white savings ones, I tried those and did not like the sticky tabs. The coles ones have been great, I was just using up some huggies, when the crystals started to appear, they drive me nuts, it must annoy DS to have grains in all those chubby folds. I am not sure why the Coles ones are doing it too, but if it continues I will complain to both companies, it is not good enough really.
Thanks girls, Kez

Like Butterfly I only had the crystal leakage problem with babylove nappies. My new fave brand is the woolworths brand as well. They are great and have cute little pictures of frogs on them and they are a good price too. I've just started using cloth nappies during the day as it's hot and bub only has to be in a singlet so I don't have to fit this huge nappy under little clothes! :)
I was using all different types (woolies, aldi etc) and was having major problems with nappy rash. So I have gone back to huggies. I haven't had that problem with the crystals though. Could the heat have something to do with it. Maybe when they sweat?? Sorry can't help much, just a thought. :)
I must recommend the new Woolies Select ones as well. I used to use Huggies at night but I ran out the other day and haven't looked back. These are fantastic, and seem to fit Eloise's shape better.
i've always used huggies. sometimes it happend sometimes not. Wasnt enough to complain about.
it happened the other day for the first time to my DS- I wondered if it was related to the heat??? he never has a nappy on for long (changed before and after feeds-and inbetween if needed) - but there were crystals...
I was relieved to get him home and into his terries...

It is very strange to me! I just took off a Coles nappy and he was covered again! I have a snugglers on now to see what happens with that. He is not in them long and I am afraid it is not hot in sunny Melbourne today (lol)!
