Hi. I went to a sleep clinic last week and it has worked really well. While there they advised trying a roll over feed around 10.30/11.00pm and we tried for two nights and the first he took 40ml, the second about 100ml so they said not to bother. I am wondering what to do as tonight he only drank about 110mls before bed and last night he woke a few times and drank a reasonable amount of his water so just wondering if I should try and give him one tonight or just leave it. Any advice? Thanks.

Maybe just try it one more time - if he doesn't take much then you know not to try again and that he is getting enough during the day? I am not sure but it can't hurt to try once more.

Chantell

I give Rebecca her bottle (200mls) at 7-8pm then she goes down for the night. I thne wake her up around 11pm and give her another bottle (again another 200mls) then she goes down for the night and doesn't wake up till about 7-8am. Always have done this since she was about 6wks old when she started "sleeping through"

Don't know when I will stop that though - maybe in a couple of weeks.

Def give it another try, my yds used to have a bottle between 7 and 8pm and i would wake him up at 10:30pm for another bottle and he would sleep right through til 6am and have another bottle and go back to sleep til about 9am.

We had a sleep nurse advise us that it usually takes 5 nights for baby to learn a new routine. We stuck to below routine and after 5 nights he slep through from 10.30pm to 6.30am. We felt okay getting rid of his night feed because he was gaining lots of weight.

- wake at 10.30pm and feed
- keep upright for 5 minutes until burp
- if wakes during the night try settling him back to sleep with dummy, try settling him for 15 minutes before feeding him
- once sleeps through to 5.30am try not to feed him until 6.30am
- make sure have curtains that black out the room
