Hi All

I have recently (6 weeks ago) given birth to my third daughter after a 7 year break and would love to hear from other Mums/Dads who have also just had a baby.

I live at Elanora and would love to establish a new Mothers Group/Playgroup but need to know if any other Mums are interested.

So lets start a group chat here first to share our experiences and take it from there.

I simply love being a Mum again, but after working full time for so many years, being at home with a new baby has been a little bit of a culture shock for me.

She has settled really nicely and is an absolute delight, but would love to meet with other Mums for coffee and a chat.

Looking forward to hearing from you all soon :p

Hey Jodie G

Hope this finds you well.

There is a Parents Group at the Palm Beach Child Health Centre which is located at 9/5th Ave on a Tuesday afternoon. It is between 2-3pm. Each week a new topic is discussed. You don't need to book a place just show up. A few of the mum's either stay behind after the discussion for a chat or go for a coffee.

Glad to hear that you are enjoying being a mum 3rd time round and that your baby is settled. 7 years is a long time between drinks! I totally agree with the culture shock. For me the first 6 weeks were the hardest. I think your body and mind needs time to adjust to your new life. I loving being a mum too! My bub is nearly 10 weeks and it just amazes me how much she has changed over the past few weeks. I love hearing her gurgling and her smile just warms my heart! :D

Take care

Murphy

Hi There

I was aware of the group that meets at the Community Health Centre on a Tuesday but as I need to pick the older girls up from school at 2.45pm each afternoon this is not going to work out for me so I need to locate a morning group, or alternatively start a new one.

I can't wait for Bubs to start smiling, she is so close but just hasn't managed it yet. I can't remember when the others started smiling but it must have been about 6-7 weeks.

She has certainly started gurgling sounds and I love having her in my arms and listening to the wide array of sounds she can make.

Thanks for your reply and if a new group alludes me, I may need to send the older girls to after school care and take the new Bubs to this group so will keep it in mind. :confused:

Hi Jodie

There is a playgroup at Elanora on Galleon Way at the Community Centre on Wednesday mornings or if you would like to catch up for coffee I also live in the area.

Hi Tanya

Just a couple of questions re the playgroup -

* Is there a cost?
* What time does it start?
* How many people attend?
* What is the average age of the bubs?

Thanks

Murphy :)

Hi Guys

Sorry for the delay.. I've been offline for a couple of days .. hopefully all the little hiccups have now sorted themselves out!

Tanya I would love to know more about the playgroup at Galleon Way just as Murphy does.

I can remember years ago I went to one there but it was humungous! There were kids absolutely everywhere... is it still the same?

Can't wait for your reply as this playgroup on a Wednesday will probably suit me the best.

Thanks :)

Hi Murphy & Jodie

The cost of playgroup is $28.00 to join for a year and $3 every visit, it starts around 9.00-9.30 not exactly sure last week there was about 10 mothers but there are usually more I find the average age of children attending is around 2-3 years of age, I am also finding it hard there with my 9 month old who is just starting to crawl as the older kids are zooming around on bikes, I also know there are 2 other days of playgroups in that community centre as I have seen it advertised on the board in the centre, one is a Friday and the other day I cant remember but Im sure if I ring up Playgroup Queensland they will be able to tell me.

The girls are really nice there, it would probably be worth looking at the other 2 days at playgroup to also see what age they start from. We could all meet up at playgroup one day!

Hi Tanya

Thanks for that.... that was my fear with that particular playgroup... having the older kids. Obviously my little Bub is still really young (only 2 mths old) and it would be fine at the moment as she is still in the pram but what about when she gets moving!! I can remember when I took my first daughter to playgroup, the second one hated it, probably because the bigger kids where scooting around everywhere. Will wait a little while and then bite the dust and do it, and then we can meet.

I will email you personally really soon... and I apologise for not responding to your last email ... I've had to go back to work for a month and it is so HECTIC!!! But will drop you a line soon..
