View Full Version : Baby bracelets
MIL gave DD a baby bracelet yesterday, and I'm wondering if anyone has had a problem with their young baby wearing one? I keep having visions of DD somehow getting the bracelet off and putting it in her mouth!
Also it's a bit big so I'd have to loop a bit of the chain around the clasp bit,so there will be a tiny bit dangling. Not enough to catch on anything I don't think. And if I got it cut down it won't fit her for long.
I know I'm probably just being a paranoid mum but..... :o

I have never heard of anyone having any probs..... I'd be interested to hear aswell!!
Eloise got one from her Godmother when she was baptised. I've never put it on her, I think it's a bit big anyway, but I'd be wary of her wearing it because she'd try and rip it off or get it caught on something.

Hi!
My DD has worn a braclet since she 2 months old and I've never had a problem with it - I think she actually forgets it's even there now! I did have the same worries as you, but she is fine! Most baby chains etc have very good safety clasps on them. Check this out if you are worried to put your mind at rest. Hope that has helped! :)

Vallerie got a "bangle" I guess, as opposed to a bracelet.... it's a solid round bangle, with a size adjuster that you just squeeze to make it smaller and pull appart slightly to make it bigger. Her godparents gave it to her for her baptism. I thought it was wonderful, because it didn't have the dangly chain bit, it wouldn't get caught, etc etc.... but of course my darling daughter wouldn't wear it!! Every time I put it on her she'd try to pull it off, get upset, etc etc. I figured maybe it was chafing her, or annoying her skin in some way. She wears it NOW though...! Because "it's beautiful mummy and so am I so I want to wear it" never mind that it's almost too small for her.... oh well, I think it's something that I can look back in 20 years and cry about how little her wrist used to be.......
Thanks everyone...I think I'll think about it a bit more before I decide what to do. :)
