View Full Version : Heatstroke
I just went onto my balcony to hang my washing out to be met with a limp and panting drooling ferret
it's been pretty warm in Sydney the last two days and already it's pretty warm, ma poor Fi FI she's usually fine, but I think age and heat is getting to her, so I brought her in, placed her on the floor and shovled some water into her, and then ran her a cool bath, she is now dragging herself around, panting but no drooling. :D
Gotta watch our little ones and the heat ;)
she isn't even in the sun!
Glad you brought this topic up DM. I think everyone forgets the furry or feathered friends a bit when it gets a bit hot!!!
My doggys have it good, they just trot on down to the dam for a swim. Half your luck!!
I hope your little one recovers in the comfort of the cool indoors ok!! It is really hot here too!! Not sure of the temp but hot!!! Little O is asleep in the air con, finally!!! ;)
Poor little ones. Our rats used to feel the heat and I've have to bath them a couple of times a day when it was hot.
I really do believe that the little rodents always feel the heat worse than other animals. They are always the ones that look so sad when it gets a bit hotter. Maybe they are not as good at regulating the temp in their little bodies as other animals.
Lucky they have great parents like you guys to keep them cool.
I hate the heat!! Bring back the winter!!!! ;)
I don't have my babies any more. They were stolen from us when our pet shop was broken into. Who ever took them knew how much they meant to me because they were the only thing taken.
:( Sarie!!!
Some people are just so unbelievable. Did you enjoy having the pet shop. My best years were spent running a pet shop. My friend owns one now, which is great for O as we get to 'borrow' the pets sometimes.
DM I was thinking more about the heat and realised most rodents burrow so they would get extra hot up here on the 'outside'.
Maybe I'm thinking into this a little too much.
Yes hon I loved it!
It was s'posed to be my DH project, but he was offered his current job 2 days after the contracts were signed. So I went in to the shop full time with a 2 week old baby tucked under one arm!!!
I think it was wonderful for Nat to be around all the animals (he said fish before he said mum :( ), he is so gentle with them now and he's great with all the babies that we still breed.
We had our shop only for 15 mnths, we put it on the market as soon as I found out I was preggie again. Running the shop full time with one bub was one thing, but I couldn't do it with 2!!!!! But we had a blast!
No your absolutely right they do like to burrow!!!
