Hi there,
I don't know whether there is already a thread about it but I was just wondering what cute things your pets and kids get up to together.
Oliver and our cat Kenny are best friends and O hand feeds her every bit of food, it is so cute. ;)

I now retract that statement- as I was typing it my cat just bit Imogens arm   !!!

Maybe they don't really love each other- needless to say cat is not coming back inside today!

Naughty putty tat!!

I think like all relationships they can have there ups and downs. My guys get along so well, but is O is a bit rough Kenny growls at him and he runs away. Bit of a love hate thing I guess.

I had Michael out in the backyard on a rug the other day. I needed to come inside to go to the loo so I tried to bring my dog in too (Whiskey) as I was nervous about leaving him alone with Michael. Whiskey would not come inside - he sat next to Michael and wouln't budge - it was like he didn't want to leave him alone!
When I came back out he was still sitting there guarding him!

Nathan has to go and check on Misty every hour or so (she was attacked a couple of weeks ago by our neighbour's dog). Now every time he falls over and scratches his knee or gets another bruise he says 'I've got an owie like Misty!'

Kate and Wally are like siblings. They play chase and hide and seek. He loves to sleep with her and be with her all the time. Then they also get jealous of one another, if I'm holding Wally and not her, suddenly she has to be held too and she'll kick him right out of my lap. She's mean to him sometimes, we really have to watch her.

OMG, our names are both Shannon/Shannan, we're both 24, and our cats are/were both Gizmo's....big coincidence!!

My cat Gizmo got run over and killed 6 weeks ago, and he was Mac's best mate. She used to carry him around, put him on pillows and put blankets over him and he'd just lay there! She loved him to bits, But being the age she is, she didn't really understand what happend, just that he was gone.

Now, thanks to Sarie i have a new little baby, a beautiful ginger persian kitten, who i hope will become both the girls best friend....

my son loves my dog at my mums house... he says beau (the dog) is his beast friend and always cuddles and pats him and always wants to buy him presents. but he gets very jealous of the dog if grandma or anyone is paying to much attention to the dog. my son will go to the back door and open it wide and shout "out side beau" and kick the dog out of the house....

How is bubs settling in Shannon? His brother and sisters have been crying a bit since he left!

He is fine Sarah, though i did kind of lose him in the house, couldn't find him anywhere! Turns out he was under the coffee table! Mac found him...she's been really gentle with him...so far!

I've just put a tiny little collar on him with a little bell, so i can hear where he is...

Coco hated him, as i thought she would, but i'm sure she'll come around, and the little one hates Turbo, hissed and swatted at him, though you know Turbo - the hyper dog...jumping everywhere!

Poor little guy, he'll get there, especially after his bath ;)
I do hope he doesn't cry too much tonight though!!

Doesn't matter if he cries...with all the whingeing Mac's been doing at night, i probably won't get much shut-eye anyhow....

Jesse (4) got a Jack Russell for his birthday - he named him "Vern" from the character in the movie "stand by me", which incidentally, I know is not for young children (language) but what I do is turn the DVD on and change the language setting to Italian, because everything sounds lovely in Italian! Jesse even asks for "The boys on the train tracks" movie with the "mucho mucho" talk!
Anyway, back to the point...
Jesse and Vern are inseperable - they will play outside together all day (Vern is an outside dog - rule in our house - people inside, pets outside) and they're just best buddys.
We also have a revolting rabbit named Buddy - besides being a poo machine and a destroyer of expensive new plants - he is the personal trainer of my younger son Lucas. Lucas thinks he's hilarious and chases him (no hope whatsoever of catching him) and giggles and giggles. He looks like Elmer Fudd "Be vewy vewy qwiet...I'm hunting wabbit"!!!

Kevinbudgie,
He is revolting because he thinks Vern is his boyfriend IYKWIM!!!
Rabbits (well this rabbit anyway) seem to just poo and wee where they're sitting, be it at the back door, in Vern's kennel - anywhere!!! He has also taken a liking to the new (and expensive) plants we've just put in the garden...and the digging, my God, the digging!!!
We have tried to keep Buddy around the side of the house where there is a picket fence seperating him from the backyard, but if Vern's in the backyard Buddy will jump the fence to get to him (I didn't know rabbits could jump so high - the fence is about 2 feet high!! He really loves his Vernie!!!)
On the up side it is cute to see the four musketeers (Jesse, Lucas, Vern and Buddy) chasing each other around the backyard.

Ahhhh! I do indeed......so I'd say he's not desexed then?
That generally has a little bit to do with it......

I have a cat called Gracie ( shes my first bub! :p ), for a while there I was living with my dad, and my younger brother ( 1 year) loved her to bits... although pulled her tail, collar, ears.. etc etc, but Gracie is too affectionate and came back for a scratch(pat!).
My brother also learnt how to say "Kit", shortly after "Ma" "Da" and we're still miles away from him ever saying his sisters names!!

Then my girl came along and Gracie found she didn't get as much attention, nor did she get to sleep in my bed... so there's a bit of jealously.
But they've over come it, Lillya loves watching the cats (theres 3 all up), and Gracie doesn't mind snuggling up on my lap while Im feeding.

I've also noticed Gracie is a bit protective, will wait at the door if Lillya is crying and I've either gotten up to get food or go to the bathroom - Gracie isn't happy until I've come back!

I know it's just gonna end up like my sister and me, we never really got attached to toys and never had them on the bed - we had to share a bunk bed with at least 4 cats growing up! :D Wouldn't have had it any other way...
