I don't see any problem in BYO at our party we did buy the beer and wine... but the one we went to recently you brought your own..which didnt seem to worry anyone.

Who cares what anyone else thinks anyway they should be there to wish you a happy life not worrying about if the grog is free.

We did BYO alcohol but we did end up supplying beer as well as soft drinks and some wine as well.

on our invites it says all food is here but BYO grog witch most ppl will be happy with that as we will prob have beers and wines here

I think it's perfectly fine! As DubbaBubba said, it should be about the celebration not the free alcohol.

I'm a scotch drinker though so I don't presume that spirits will be provided free at any functions even if it's an open bar.

i think it is fine, especially when everyone drinks diff types of alchol. so maybe just put "BYO own prefernces of drink", or something along those lines. that way they might just think you didnt know what different types to supply ;)
