Hi,
I've just spotted a gorgeous ringsling on WAHMania I want to buy!
I have absolutely no idea about ring slings.... would I get much use out of it seeing bub is already 8 months old?
I've been using a HAB until now but finding she is getting a bit 'long' to be worn on my front....
Is this worth me getting or not?
Any help appreciated!

The only sling we have is a ring sling  We didnt get it till MJ was about 6 months from memory, & still use it now  Its also great as you can use it as a blanket, put it on the ground to sit on, throw it over the stroller to block out light etc.

We still use our sling and Ara is nearly 11months old...I just love it.
We use the Kangaroo and the Hip straddle and I also put her on my back if we're walking down the road.
I can see me using it for a lot longer and am looking at getting another one to use more for a backpack style as well.

Yes!! I would buy one. I love my ring sling, I intend to carry DS in it til he is a toddler. You can use so many different positions, I actually think they are more suited to an older baby/child.
ETA: I also had a HAB but recently sold it. I loved it for a young baby but it just didnt suit DS after about 4 months of age.
dd2 is almost 19 mths and i still use ours alllll the time! She is a very cuddly bub and likes to be up where the action is basically.
We had the HAB and used that til she was maybe 6mths, then I just found it a bit difficult when she wanted in then out then in then out, etc! For a newborn though, snuggling up ohhhh I loved that!
I mostly have her on my hip, or facing front with legs crossed, or front to front laying her head on my shoulder. Have been wanting to give her a go on my back for awhile but haven't gotten around to that.
On thing I find is I tend to have the sling always over my right shoulder as I find this easier. It's recommended to swap sides every now and again to even out the pressure.

Remind me to bring mine next time we get together  Then you can see in person how to put it on :)
whats a ring sling?
I've been trying to find a photo of ours but can't.
It's a long piece of material that has 2 heavy duty ring at one end. The other end of material (tail) is passed through both rings, then back over itself and through one of the rings. Hope that makes sense!!
I'll have to take a photo of dd2 in it and upload it.

It came on Friday :smiliedance:
I LOVE it! I used it all day yesterday and for an hour or so today.
So far I've only used the hip position but bub is so comfy like that I haven't any need to try others just yet.
It' soooooo funky too :D I might post a pic if I can get DH to take one :)
