About six months ago I read one of Pinky's about breastfeeding a toddler in which she stated that they will stop b/feeding when they are ready! I didn't really believe it at the time and also going by what other people were telling me, he would definitely not stop by himself. I was dreading the day when I would have to say: "No more - that's enough" and then have to deal with the tantrums and tears.

I am so happy to report that what Pinky said came true. They do eventually stop by themselves. Gradually, but they do. I b/fed my son until he was 2 and 4 months and I'm glad that I left him to end it by himself.

So, thank you Pinky. I'm so glad I read your post.

Hi vivian,
Thanks for the feedback - they really do wean - eventually - just as they learn to walk and talk etc when they are developmentally ready. It can be hard to believe when you have a boobaholic in your house though.

Glad its all worked out for you - trust yourself and your child.
